Welcome to episode 121. This is part two of a two-part interview with Simon Rhind-Tutt and Carey Evans, who are Co-Founders of Relationship Audits. If you missed part one, I would really recommend you go back and have a listen (it's episode 120). Simon and Carey just packed it full of insights and tips for agencies when it comes to strengthening their client relationships. This episode is no exception and we talk about: - what every client wants but rarely gets from an agency - what a brain trust is and why you might want one for your agency - and why leveraging your learnings from other client relationships is often a huge missed opportunity. If you'd like notifications about future guests coming on the podcast, or notes from the episodes that I have with guests, as well as tips on agency account management and potential trainings, then you can sign up for my weekly newsletter at https://www.accountmanagementskills.com
Welcome to Episode 120, which is the first of two episodes covering my in-depth chat with Carey Evans and Simon Rhind-Tutt, Co-Founders of Relationship Audits®. I met Simon and Carey many years ago when I was working as client services director for Publicis life Brands. We were struggling with a client relationship, it was a very important client but it wasn't going well. Whilst we knew some of the reasons why the relationship was faltering, we didn't know the whole story, so we invited in Simon and Carey to evaluate our relationship. Essentially, they went into the client's offices and interviewed all of key client stakeholders to find out what was going on and their perception of the agency. Not only did they uncover what was going well and what wasn't going well, they also uncovered growth opportunities for us as an agency to go back into the client and crystallize what they needed in the future and provide extra value. If we hadn't have done that and they hadn't have provided that action list, report and their recommendations, we wouldn't have retained that client for another two years, worth £700,000 to the agency per year. Immediately, the return on investment for employing the services of Relationship Audits changed the game for us. That's why I am delighted that they've joined us back on the show for this two part interview, talking about what your clients don't tell you. Whilst you might be evaluating the strength of your relationships with your clients and asking them questions, what Relationship Audits do, and they've been doing it successfully for years, is listen for what's not being said. They have a very established question set and they're able to spot things that you will miss. If you would like to talk to either Carey or Simon, please visit their website, https://www.relationshipaudits.com, or send them an email at info@relationshipaudits.com Finally, if you are in an agency account management role and you'd like to be kept up to date with the next episodes that I'm going to be sharing on the podcast, and you also want tips about the account management role and any trainings that I'm doing in the future, then you can sign up for my newsletter via my website, https://www.accountmanagementskills.com

They discuss the joys of small business growth, vital entrepreneurial habits, and strategies for team building, encompassing wins, blunders, and invaluable advice. And a snapshot of the final five Grow A Small Business Questions: What do you think is the hardest thing in growing a small business? Tim Tutt believes that the hardest thing in growing a small business is managing people. As a founder, your primary role is to ensure that your team is supported and capable of helping you achieve your business goals. Balancing the needs of the team with the demands of business growth can be challenging, requiring a delicate touch and a deep understanding of both the business and the individuals involved. What's your favourite business book that has helped you the most? Tim Tutt's favorite business book, one he refers to often, is "The Hard Thing About Hard Things" by Ben Horowitz. He finds it immensely valuable, especially for building a strong company culture. One of the most impactful quotes for him from the book is "Take care of the people, the products, and the profits, in that order," which has guided his approach to building his company. Are there any great podcasts or online learning resources you'd recommend to help grow a small business? Tim Tutt mentioned that podcasts are not his primary source of learning, but he finds value in listening to a good handful of them on topics that are relevant to him. However, he leans more towards reading blog posts and recommendations from other founders on specific topics of interest. What tool or resource would you recommend to grow a small business? Tim Tutt highly recommends a carefully managed calendar as a crucial tool for growing a small business. He uses Calendly to schedule meetings and blocks out specific times for focused work. Time blocking, in particular, is a strategy he finds valuable for ensuring he has dedicated time for important tasks amidst the demands of running a business. What advice would you give yourself on day one of starting out in business? Tim Tutt would advise himself on day one of starting out in business to push through the tough times. He acknowledges that there will be many difficult days and moments of doubt, but he emphasizes the importance of maintaining strong conviction in the business idea and team. He believes that with determination and belief in the vision, one can overcome obstacles and succeed. Book a 20-minute Growth Chat with Troy Trewin to see if you qualify for our upcoming course. Greetings, audient! Thanks for hanging in there. It can't be easy. This episode tackles the Tossers' own Marx Grudge Star -- come to collect its resentful dues. Karma imposes its menacing presence in the form of a book by Daniel Tutt, with the provocative title How to Read Like a Parasite: Why the Left got High on Nietzsche. A unique pleasure it was to host Jamie, who joins us from a more Frankfurt School angle, and helped reign-in Sagi by riposting some of his cheaper jabs at our buddy Karlo. So, as you can imagine, it was a grudge-bath. (Yep. Me no native English.)At their best, our discussions turned, and tossed, the treacherous soils and soilings of ressentiment, a Nietzschean concept used against the working class to repress any uprising (for it will be ridiculed as a "slave rebellion" I imagine). Tutt lays this at Nietzsche's feet, the more general claim being that Nietzsche's philosophy is a status-quo machine, and/or an anti-revolutionary one, in the sense that it puts the kaibosh on any universal equality, ideational and/or actual, as some kind of (secret, cunning) axiom. All this time we thought it was Reason -- turns out it was Nietzsche who was cunning. We also admittedly devolve to devote some uneasy attention to Tutt's notion of the parasite vis-a-vis the act of reading/interpreting Nietzsche, which, if we're lucky, seems to only stumble over its own feet (the identity of the parasite shifting constantly, something narrated but never engaged with). If we're not, then Tutt's bulldozers will show those parasites 'how a real parasite does it,' becoming tone-deaf to the metaphysical critique that underwrites Nietzsche's contempt towards humanist ideas of equality in the process. We will get into that. And so much more...Stay tuned, won't you, audient?Stars: Marx Grudge; WWJD

Support the show and get exclusive episodes: https://www.patreon.com/OneDime In this episode of the 1Dime radio podcast, I am joined by philosopher Daniel Tutt host of the Emancipations Podcast, to discuss his upcoming book "How To Read Like a Parasite", which presents a rich critique of how Leftists interpret Friedrich Nietzsche and Nietzsche's broader impact on the left today and throughout history. Daniel Tutt shares insights into Nietzsche's influence on leftist thought, emphasizing how his theories can be both valuable and problematic. The discourse explores Nietzsche's impact on left-wing thinkers ranging from Gilles Deleuze, Georges Bataille, and The Bolsheviks to Huey Newton and Jack London. Tutt draws on some critics of Nietzsche, such as György Lukács and Domenico Losurdo's book Nietzsche: The Aristocratic Rebel. In this dialogue, we disset Nietzsche's views on politics, culture, class, slave morality, resentment, otium, truth and and the will to power. Tutt's upcoming book calls for a 'parasitic' interpretation of Nietzsche, in which we should take Nietzche as a challenge to the left and learn from his ideas while acknowledging that he is an enemy of the left rather than trying to ignore his reactionary politics to reinterpret his philosophy as being compatible with a Marxist emancipatory politics. These past two podcasts on Nietzche are my attempt to foster dialogue between left-Nietzchians, who believe a synthesis between Nietzche and Marx (or socialist policies more broadly) and left more skeptical thinkers, and see Nietzsche more as an enemy/challenge to the Left who should still be studied, rather than a thinker whose politics can be reconciled with a socialist/communist politics. Regardless of your views, Nietzsche and his philosophy are incredibly relevant in the age of late capitalism. It is seen as both a territory and an exploration, an aquatic experience that cannot be fully captured in a simple definition. It invites curiosity and personal experience to truly understand what it is. Origin and Influences: Aguajara is influenced by and considered a descendant of older practices like Watsu (water shiatsu) and Water Dance. These were developed independently in California and Switzerland, respectively. Aguajara also has roots in Jansu, another aquatic therapy developed in an Osho ashram in India. The Role of Water: Water is central to Aguajara, not just as a medium but as an element that influences the practice. The therapy often takes place in warm water, similar to body temperature, but can also be conducted in cooler waters. The water facilitates relaxation and movement. Connection to Other Practices: Aguajara draws from various traditions and practices, including tantric explorations, shiatsu massage, and dance. It is seen as a combination of these elements, adapted to an aquatic environment. Development and Evolution: Aguajara evolved through experimentation and collaboration among practitioners, who brought their learnings and understandings from other therapies and movement practices. Philosophical and Spiritual Aspects: The discussion touched on broader philosophical and spiritual themes, such as the mystery of water and the mind, the concept of surrender, and the interplay of intuition and intention. Practical Aspects of Aguajara Sessions: Sessions typically involve entering the water, surrendering to the experience, and allowing the facilitator to guide movements. The experience can be therapeutic and involves elements of touch, movement, and a deep connection with water. The Cultural and Social Context: The conversation also delved into the broader cultural and social implications of practices like Aguajara, discussing aspects like community, empathy, and the human connection with nature.
Ever wondered how your marital status or romantic relationship is shaped by society's norms and expectations? How about the notion of family abolition, a concept that offers a radical look at the institution of family as we know it? This episode draws you into a stimulating conversation with our guest, Daniel Tutt.Delving into the complexities of family formation and class dynamics, we challenge conventional understandings of family, marriage, and relationships. We traverse the intriguing paradox of the bourgeois family and its unattainable promises for the proletariat. The discussion intensifies as we explore the lumpenization of significant portions of the working class and how this might reshape our understanding of the family. We also scrutinize the societal pressures of self-actualization, the risks of pursuing education, and the historical context of abolishing family. We wrap up by examining the current family culture's impact on young generations and the intersection between family abolitionists and the left. Our dialogue seeks to redefine family and to seize the politicization of the generation to prevent reaction and even proto-fascism. Join us as we dissect, debate, and rethink the institution of family against the backdrop of societal changes, class struggles, and evolving definitions of love and relationships. Tim Tutt grew up in the military, and travelled around following his father. An interesting fact he shared was that he attended three different schools in the 1st grade. He learned how to make friends and fit in quickly. Outside of tech, he loves the marvel cinematic universe, from which he states that Tony Spark is his spirit animal. He also loves to play poker, which he got into during college. He actually got to play in a smaller event within the World Series of poker this past year.In the past, Tim played the role of the middle man between the data and those who needed answers from the data. Like a good engineer, he always automated the repeat things he was asked to do. He asked his co-founder one day... wouldn't it be nice if we could just get out of the way? This is the creation story of ClearQuery.SponsorsCipherstashTreblleCAST AI FireflyTursoMemberstackLinksWebsite: https://www.clearquery.io/Website: https://www.nightshiftdevelopment.com/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/timtutt/Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/code-story/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
