Do we notice how they insert our adverse economic, health or educational outcomes whenever the leaders of this nation have a new political argument? For the COVID 19-vaccine-they said we should be vaccinated because the Black Community has substandard health outcomes due in part to the poor access to quality care. For the abortion debate-they said restrictions are an unfair penalty against Black women because Black women do not have the same means to take time from work to travel out of state to receive an abortion like white women do AND that additional children will cause additional economic hardships. These same pundits make no argument to tackle the root causes of our health and economic disparities. So I question, do Black women really matter except to exploit our condition to advance a political or social agenda? There certainly is no argue over the cultural influences that help maintain these disparities. They are just another mechanism that promotes these same conditions but our mainstream so-called allies are silent on that. "If our forefathers had the power of life, to speak from their graves, they would condemn you for wasting your time and life -- after being freed -- and not availing yourself of this freedom. They were forced into slavery against their will, but you are now forcing yourself to remain in slavery by trying to force the white man to allow you to remain with him and provide for you as he has always done." D'Message - Mengampuni by : Pdt. Steven Liem, S.Th, M.A Mengampuni adalah hal yang sangat mudah dilakukan sebenarnya, namun pada kenyataannya sangat sulit untuk dilakukan. Ketika seseorang melakukan kesalahan, sebagai umat manusia kita harus saling memaafkan dan mengampuni satu sama lain. Ketika hidup kita selalu ada pengampunan, maka hidup kita akan menjadi lebih indah dan pastinya akan selaras dengan Tuhan. Untuk itu, mari kita bersama-sama selalu mengampuni secara tulus hati dan ikhlas, menghindari rasa dendam untuk mendapat kebahagiaan sejati... D'Message - Kekudusan Hidup By : Pdt. Steven Liem, S.Th, M.A Apa itu hidup kudus?? Hidup kudus merupakan hidup bersama dengan Tuhan selaras dan sesuai dengan jalan Tuhan. Kekudusan merupakan hal yang sulit untuk dilakukan terlebih karena banyaknya faktor duniawi yang membuat kita meninggalkan Tuhan. Seperti uang, jabatan, profesi dan lain lain. Terkadang hal simpel menurut kita justru memberikan dampak yang begitu besar. Untuk itulah, marilah kita bersama-sama menerima Tuhan di dalam diri kita, supaya kita mengerti bagaimana cara menahan nafsu yang tidak sesuai dengan ajaran Allah dan selalu memberikan yang terbaik yang kita punya kepada sesama kita, dan juga kepada Allah kita.. Seperti yang ditulis di dalam Injil 1 Petrus 1 : 15 - 16 = tetapi hendaklah kamu menjadi kudus di dalam seluruh hidupmu sama seperti Dia yang kudus, yang telah memanggil kamu, sebab ada tertulis: Kuduslah kamu, sebab Aku kudus. D'Message - Lebih Layak-kah Aku? by : Pdt. Steven Liem, S.Th, M.A Kita sebagai manusia mungkin pernah berfikir, apakah aku pantas di hadapan Tuhan? Apakah kita layak menerima berkat Tuhan? Apakah kita bisa mengendalikan hawa nafsu kita? Apakah kita bisa membuat berkat Tuhan yang kita terima menjadi berkat bagi orang lain? Terkadang pertanyaan - pertanyaan itulah yang sering kali ada di kepala kita. Kita semua disini, kita semua anak Tuhan disini layak untuk berada di hadapan Tuhan, dan menerima berkat Tuhan di hidup kita. Injil Lukas 7 : 39 tertulis Ketika orang Farisi yang mengundang Yesus melihat hal itu, ia berkata dalam hatinya: ”Jika Ia ini nabi, tentu Ia tahu, siapakah dan orang apakah perempuan yang menjamah-Nya ini; tentu Ia tahu, bahwa perempuan itu adalah seorang berdosa.” Tuhan Yesus Memberkati

Kita banyak mendengar kabar duka, dan kabar gembira di waktu bersamaan. Terkadang kita juga bingung harus melakukan apa, bingung harus memulai apa dan terkadang kita lepas kendali yang berujung meninggikan emosi kita. Terkadang kita tidak memiliki maksud lain ketika berpendapat maupun ketika berbicara, namun terkadang apa yang kita ucapkan menjadi salah pengertian bagi orang lain. Mari sama-sama kita menghargai orang lain Mari sama-sama kita belajar untuk berfikir dahulu apakah ucapan kita bisa menyakiti orang lain Mari sama-sama kita mencoba untuk berbicara dengan cara yang benar, yang jelas Selain itu, ketika seseorang menyakiti kita, jangan pernah berfikir untuk membalas dendam, jangan pernah berfikir untuk menghakimi, tapi cobalah berfikir bijaksana, intropeksi diri dan yang paling penting adalah mengampuni. Seperti yang ditulis di dalam Injil Efesus 5 : 12 - 15 yang tertulis "Sebab menyebutkan sajapun apa yang dibuat oleh mereka di tempat-tempat yang tersembunyi telah memalukan. Tetapi segala sesuatu yang sudah ditelanjangi oleh terang itu menjadi nampak, sebab semua yang nampak adalah terang. Itulah sebabnya dikatakan: "Bangunlah, hai kamu yang tidur dan bangkitlah dari antara orang mati h dan Kristus akan bercahaya atas kamu." Karena itu, perhatikanlah dengan saksama, bagaimana kamu hidup, janganlah seperti orang bebal, tetapi seperti orang arif, dan pergunakanlah waktu yang ada, karena hari-hari ini adalah jahat. Soundtrack bij de film 'Message on a bottle' van Eelke Dekker is ook te luisteren als podcast met je ogen dicht Het draaiboek Scheveningen vrijdagochtend 2 september kwart voor elf. Met een droge KLIK van de karabijn zet ik mijzelf, via de trapeze vast aan de vlieger. Exact op tijd - zoals het in het draaiboek voorbereid. De vlieger zelf ligt 25 meter verderop op het strand en is klaar om op te laten. Ik kijk op en zie de honderd mensen die gekomen zijn om mij te zien afvaren naar Engeland. Vrienden, kennissen, onbekenden en krijg een brok in mijn keel. Ik wil, moet ze wat zeggen. Bedanken. Ik schreeuw. Ik weet niet meer wat. Duizenden keren heb ik de vlieger op gelaten. Altijd valt de KLIK van de karabijn samen met het moment dat je omschakelt van rust naar het beteugelen van de kracht van de vlieger. Met het vastklikken aan de vlieger knoop je jezelf vast aan de wind. Een moment van onbedachtzaamheid en je ontketend een gigantische versnellingen die je de lucht in trekt of tegen de grond smakt. Dit keer valt de KLIK samen met een lange voorbereiding. Het bouwen van het board uit zwerfafval-flesjes, de trainingsweek in Kaap Verdie in januari om het draagvleugel-kitesurfen te leren, het bijeenkrijgen van het camera-team, de volgboten, de crowdfunding, de sponsoren, de statiegeld specialisten die hielpen bij de petitie en het burgerinitiatief voor de uitbreiding van statiegeld. Alles zit in die KLIK. De vlieger gaat omhoog. Ik pak het board van PET-flesjes en stap de branding in. De volgboten zijn op tijd – zoals in het draaiboek. Ik vaar drie keer op en neer en het startsignaal klinkt precies om 11 uur – zoals in het draaiboek. De pers- en gastenboot vaart nog een kwartier met ons op en keert om. En dan varen we het draaiboek uit. De omstandigheden op zee zijn ruig. De golven stuwen op tot zeker tweeëneenhalve meter. Onze snelheid gaat omlaag. De bemanning van de twee volgboten krijgt het zwaar. We liggen stil om aanvaringen te voorkomen met containerschepen. Ik vaar vast in een verloren visnet. Ik begin van vermoeidheid te vallen waardoor ik nog meer vermoeid raak. Als we eindelijk land zien valt opeens de wind weg. Ik wordt op de volgboot gehesen en vaar tegen de stroom en wind in. De wind komt toch terug en ik kan het laatste stuk naar Engeland surfen. En zet voet aan wal na 9 uur op het water. Ik laat uitgeput mijn vlieger neer en KLIK los. Een avontuur alsof het in een draaiboek was uitgedacht.
