In a world filled with conflicting voices, shifting opinions, and temporary comforts--where can we find unwavering truth? The answer is found in the Word of God. Scripture is not just a collection of religious writings--it is the very breath of God, wholly sufficient for guiding us in every aspect of life.God's Word is the source of all true wisdom. The wisdom of the world is fleeting and often misguided, but the wisdom of God is eternal. Proverbs chapter 2, verse 6 declares, "For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding." When we seek direction in decision-making, relationships, or trials--we must look first to the Scriptures, for in them, God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. Second Peter chapter 1, verse 3God's Word is the source of all true comfort. When our hearts are troubled, where do we turn? Many look for relief in entertainment, relationships, or distractions--yet true and lasting comfort is found only in the promises of God. Psalm chapter 119, verse 50 says, "My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life." The Word assures us of God's unchanging love, His sovereign control over our circumstances, and His faithfulness to sustain us through every trial.God's Word is the source of ultimate truth. In an age where truth is often subjective, the Bible stands as the unchanging, absolute truth of God. Jesus declared, "Sanctify them by the truth; Your Word is truth." John chapter 17, verse 17. The Word of God exposes sin, reveals Christ, and teaches us how to live a holy life. If we neglect it, we risk being led astray by the deception of the world.We must apply God's Word to every aspect

These words he refers to are cessationism and continuationism. But what do these words mean? In these words, we find root words that mean to cease and to continue. But biblically speaking, what are we talking about when these words are used? When someone uses these words, it's meant to describe a theological position. The position involves a disagreement among Christians as to whether spiritual gifts remain operational within the church or whether the operation of spiritual gifts ceased with the Apostolic Age or sometime shortly afterward. Would you like to learn more about this? Join us and listen in as Dr. Caldwell and Dr. Philpot seek to help us better understand this terminology used to describe what Christians believe the Bible teaches regarding the ceasing and continuing operation of spiritual gifts.To start us off, Dr. Caldwell provides some helpful clarification. When he talks about cessationism, it's really only about one category of spiritual gifts. Dr. Caldwell does not use this word to imply that none of the spiritual gifts function today. He sees the New Testament as categorizing spiritual gifts into two different groups. One group consists of the apostolic sign gifts that would be temporary. The other group is edifying gifts meant to be permanent for the church and are further categorized into speaking and serving gifts. So what he says, as a cessationist, is that this one category of gifts being chiefly associated with the Apostles belonged to the Apostolic Era as significant signs, and they are no longer functioning today. But, a continuationist would say no, all of the gifts are still in operation, including those of a miraculous nature,

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you." Jn 15:3God's Word is like a prescription from your doctor. You don't have to understand how the medication works-you just have to faithfully keep taking it. Something amazing happens when you feed regularly on God's Word.Temptation begins to lose power, and overcoming strength begins to replace it.Each time a Scripture opens up and becomes real to you, your desire for God's Word increases. But that means reading your Bible even when you don't feel like it, or think you don't have time to do it, or you don't seem to be getting much out of it. The Bible says: "As the rain and snow come down from heaven and stay upon the ground to water the earth, and cause the grain to grow and to produce seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry, so also is my Word...it always produces fruit.It shall accomplish all I want it to" (Isa 55:10-11 TLB). You don't have to have certain sensations to know that God's Word is working in you. Indeed, Bible reading will keep you from sin, and sin will keep you from Bible reading. After his affair with Bathsheba, David wrote, "I have thought much about your words and stored them in my heart so that they would hold me back from sin" (Ps 119:11 TLB). Jesus said, "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you." Are you tired of living in defeat? Then bathe your mind each day in God's Word. Since we are all going to die, we should start practicing for it. In this message, Pastor Jamie Nunnally shares how to practice for eternity. Philippians 4:9 "What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you."Practice brings peace. Do you want peace when you think about the end of your life? Practice for eternity now. What does the bible say about practicing for eternity?1. This life is not all that there is.After this life. We have one of two possible destinations: heaven or hell. This means heaven and hell are not the "afterlife," earth is the "beforelife." And eternity is not in the future, its already begun.Matthew 25:31-34; 41; 46 John 14:1-3God is a good father and heaven is a good gift. Trust Him.For the Christian, the worst case scenario is eternal bliss. 2. God's judgement is real, and God's decisions are just.Hebrew 9:27 CEV "We die only once, and then we are judged."Heaven and hell are a result of your relationship—you will go where your family is.Hell was not made for people and it is not God's desire for anyone to go there.1 Timothy 2:4There is more than enough room – God is not looking for ways to keep people out.No one who should be in heaven will be hell, and no one who should be in hell will be in heaven. God is a righteous judge.God is not being mean when he sends someone to hell. He is simply granting them their wish. 3. Salvation—including eternity in heaven—is by grace through faith, not works.One of the biggest lies out there is that good people go to heaven.Ephesians 2:8-10 NIV "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."The salvation equation: Grace + Faith = Salvation + WorksWe don't work to get saved, but once we're saved we get to work. 4. Those who think the most of the next life will do the most in this life.Psalm 39:4Everyone is trying to get into heaven, but God is trying to get heaven into you.Ephesians 5:16-17 "Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don't act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do."How you live today determines how you're remembered tomorrow. Are you practicing for eternity?

Obedience does not earn the blessings, in that God is obligatedto bring them; obedience, instead, creates an environment in whichthe blessing of faith can be made manifest.“Ye shall walk in all the ways which the L ord your God hath com-manded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, andthat ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess”(Deut. 5:33). Is the Lord saying here to Israel that if they obey, theywill earn these blessings, that these blessings are what the peopleare owed? Or is He saying: If you obey, these blessings can resultbecause obedience opens the way for Me to be able to bring theblessings upon you? What is the difference between the two ideas?

The book of Amos opens with the roar of God’s judgment. God’s pronouncement of judgment upon these nations is a reminder and representation of His coming judgment on all people. The Roar of the Lion helps us review our own lives and values. It helps us to reflect and consider: Does our lifestyle reflect the heart of God? Do we share the self-seeking heart of the indifference of Amos’ day?
