Lewis walks us through his path into the industry — from growing up on a farm in southern Oklahoma to studying aviation at Oklahoma State, working for Kubota, then making the move to St. Louis where he cut his teeth learning reel mowers at a John Deere dealership. After volunteering on the golf course, he found his way into the maintenance operation full time and hasn't looked back.Lewis talks about what he enjoys most — seeing the finished product out on the course — and what he enjoys least: relief grinding on Bernhard grinders (even though he's the first to say how important it is for cut quality). The Masters Golf Tournament is held in the first full week of April in Augusta, Ga. “My brother, Randall Troy Goeth, enjoyed golf. The 2022 Masters marks the 30th year since his passing, and this article is dedicated to him,” said the author. The 1965 U.S. Open golf tournament was contested at Bellerive Country Club outside St. Louis, Mo. The United States Golf Association was able to set up Bellerive to play as the longest course ever to host the Open at that time, and I suppose long hitters Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus came to mind as favorites. Hello Fellow Golfists, I reached out and spoke with Jim Higginbottom from Fenton Missouri.  He reached out to me when I posted that I wanted to speak to someone about golf.  He shared that he had a hole in one at the 11th hole at Aberdeen Golf Club in Eureka Missouri.   He shared stories about his TItleist T100s Irons that he used his 9 iron to make the hole in one back on December 10 of 2020.  We talked about the 1992 and 2018 PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St Louis Missouri.  We also spoke about Payne Stewart and Paynes Valley Golf Club.  This was an amazing chat that I had with Mr Higginbottom. Thanks for listening to The Knackered Golfist Podcast.

Brian Jacobs shared his method of teaching junior golfers including assessing their goals and how he goes about making the game fun so they stay excited and engaged. He also talked about how to generate more club head speed plus fix one of our common swing path errors of coming over the top and pull hooking the ball. Mike Napoleon is the Co-Founder and President of SuperSpeed Golf. Their SuperSpeed program is designed to help us generate more club head speed. Mike took us through the products and practice protocols that can help add 5+ MPH to your club head which equates to more distance.

Rees Jones, World Renowned Golf Course Designer & Architect, talks about the work he did renovating Bellerive Country Club, site of this year's PGA Championship, back in the mid 2000s. The course was originally designed by his father Robert Trent Jones in the late 1950's and opened in 1960. It became the youngest course to host a US Open which was won by Gary Player in 1965.
