The Masters Golf Tournament is held in the first full week of April in Augusta, Ga. “My brother, Randall Troy Goeth, enjoyed golf. The 2022 Masters marks the 30th year since his passing, and this article is dedicated to him,” said the author. The 1965 U.S. Open golf tournament was contested at Bellerive Country Club outside St. Louis, Mo. The United States Golf Association was able to set up Bellerive to play as the longest course ever to host the Open at that time, and I suppose long hitters Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus came to mind as favorites. Hello Fellow Golfists, I reached out and spoke with Jim Higginbottom from Fenton Missouri. He reached out to me when I posted that I wanted to speak to someone about golf. He shared that he had a hole in one at the 11th hole at Aberdeen Golf Club in Eureka Missouri. He shared stories about his TItleist T100s Irons that he used his 9 iron to make the hole in one back on December 10 of 2020. We talked about the 1992 and 2018 PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St Louis Missouri. We also spoke about Payne Stewart and Paynes Valley Golf Club. On this episode of Next on the Tee I'm joined by legendary Broadcaster Ben Wright, Golf Academy Lead Instructor Brian Jacobs, and SuperSpeed Golf Co-Founder and President Mike Napoleon. Ben Wright shared his thoughts on the US Open, the Open Championship and looked ahead to the PGA Championship. We talked about his memory of the 1965 US Open which Gary Player won in a playoff. It was held at Bellerive Country Club site of this year's PGA. He shared his memory of the 1992 PGA Championship, which he helped broadcast, and was also held at Bellerive. We also talked about Tigermania and the disservice the media does to the other players because they are so focused on Tiger. He said the media has never been so focused on any of the other great players like they are on Tiger. He added that Ben Hogan's comeback to win several majors following the car accident that nearly killed him far surpasses the comeback Tiger has made. Brian Jacobs shared his method of teaching junior golfers including assessing their goals and how he goes about making the game fun so they stay excited and engaged. He also talked about how to generate more club head speed plus fix one of our common swing path errors of coming over the top and pull hooking the ball. Mike Napoleon is the Co-Founder and President of SuperSpeed Golf. Their SuperSpeed program is designed to help us generate more club head speed. Mike took us through the products and practice protocols that can help add 5+ MPH to your club head which equates to more distance.
