We decided to curb stomp the 1998 Edward Norton vehicle "American History X" that showed us all neo-Nazis have to do to overcome their vicious deep-seated racism is have one jokey conversation with a funny black guy in prison. This movie has it all: a "Psycho"-esque black-and-white bloody slow-motion shower scene, a hilariously unrealistic reverse slam dunk by Edward Norton, a giant swastika tattoos, a cheesy villains, a few funny wigs, and even a little kid dressed up as Adolf Hitler. Edward Norton stars as Derek Vinyard, a leader of a white supremacist gang called the Disciples of Christ, who kills a couple dudes who try to rob his car (one by curb stomping). He then serves three years in prison for voluntary manslaughter, changes his beliefs and tries to prevent his brother from going down the same path. He goes from wearing a backward hat over his mullet (like Poochie from "The Simpsons") when innocent to a shaved-head neo-Nazi with a giant swastika tattooed on his chest two seconds later. Edward Furlong plays Norton's younger brother who recalls the story and writes it in a paper for school and annoyingly narrates throughout the film. Beverly D'Angelo (of the "Vacation" movies fame) plays their chain-smoking mom who can't catch a break after her racist firefighter husband dies. Avery Brooks (Benjamin Sisko from "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine") plays Dr. Bob Sweeney, a high school principal who also seems to run the police department and the prison system. And we also have Ethan Suplee, Fairuza Balk, Elliott Gould, Stacy Keach, and the nice-guy dad from "Boy Meets World" as an N-word spewing fireman dad. We wonder who would be funny at reading the "Mein Kampf" audiobook, how hard Beverly D'Angelo is trying to win an Oscar in this, and how the paper Edward Furlong's character writes throughout is an F paper. Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi and William Thrasher discuss Vacation, a misguided attempt to continue the adventures of the Griswold clan. Written and directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, this entry keeps the R-rating of the original National Lampoon's Vacation without much of the charm.  Rusty (Ed Helms) and his wife Debbie (Christina Applegate) take their sons James (Skyler Gisondo) and Kevin (Steele Stebbins) on a trip across the United States to Wally World. Along the way, they bathe in shit, explode a cow, and talk about rim jobs. It's not as fun as it sounds.  Keeping the picaresque structure of the original, the family goes from stop to stop along the way while crazy adventures happen. Many of them seem crude just for the sake of being gross while keeping little of the heart the original had. An all too  short cameo from Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo reprising their role as the senior Griswolds only makes this remake sting all the more. Mat felt the more dramatic second half of the HBO documentary Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind was superior to the flat first half. A slick look at the life of the late comedian who blended zany antics with a heavy glob of schmaltz, the documentary only gets great in the last 15 minutes when his close friends Eric Idle and Billy Crystal open up about Williams' difficult final years. Thrasher went to the cinemas to see the latest Marvel Studios feature film Ant-Man and the Wasp. A light apertif of a movie like the original, he felt it to be a fun bit of entertainment after the heavy Avengers: Infinity War. Predict-O-Cast: The Movie Prediction Podcast

We finally tackle a Steve Guttenberg film as we continue our unintentional Silly Summer Spook-A-Thon (or whatever we're calling this) with 1988's horror comedy High Spirits. Why isn't Beverly D'Angelo attracted to Steve Guttenberg? Why is Daryl Hannah so attracted to Steve Guttenberg? Just how tall is Liam Neeson? Why is that horse talking? Was Peter O'Toole really drunk all the time? Will we answer any of these questions? You'll have to listen in to find out.

32 years after the original, we get Vacation, a new road trip movie with Ed Helms as Rusty Griswold in the driver seat. We were skeptical for obvious reasons... And were pleasantly surprised in for not so obvious reasons.  We had mixed reactions to the movie.  But it gave us a ton to talk about... We can't help but to compare it to National Lampoon's Vacation from so many years before.  And we sort of think that was the point.  Enjoy as we drag Kevin Harvell into this one with us. We compare Chevy Chase to Ed Helms, Christina Applegate to Beverly D'Angelo and the kids to all the iterations of Rusty and Audrey.

We don't spoil this one for you since it's still in theaters, so SAFE LISTENING AHEAD! We talk about the current state of bullying in high school, Anthony talks about the current state of Linda Cardellini, and Sigmund Freud pops in to give some much needed analysis. Adam Scott Aukerman may have snagged a big fish when U2 visited U Talkin' U2 To Me? last week, but someone equally important to our show visits us from beyond the grave.
