He highlights standout tracks like "Tragedy", discussing the album's blend of disco, pop, and R&B elements. Kevin delves into how "Spirits Having Flown" solidified the Bee Gees' status as pop icons and showcases their continued innovation and influence on the music scene.Craig shifts the focus to new talent by spotlighting Parlor Greens and their debut album "In Green / We Dream." He delves into the origins of the band, a super group of sorts, formed by 3 longtime friends in a small town who bonded over their shared love of classic rock and indie music. He reflects on how the band's chemistry and passion for music are evident throughout their debut effort, making Parlor Greens a promising addition to the contemporary music scene.Shawn wraps up the episode by spotlighting A-Ha's "Scoundrel Days," an album that cemented the band's status beyond their mega-hit "Take On Me." He examines the darker, more mature themes, highlighting how "Scoundrel Days" demonstrates A-Ha's versatility and depth as musicians. Join Shawn, Craig, and Kevin as they journey through the rich soundscapes of these diverse albums, offering insights and appreciation for the enduring and emerging talents in the music world.

THE BEE GEES – MAIN COURSE with special guest Bob Stanley This interview took place before and after we listened to the vinyl album. It may sound silly to call the twelth album by a group with an eight-year string of gold records behind them a "breakthrough," but that's what Main Course was. Released in 1975, the group's first disco album – and, for many white listeners, the first disco album they ever purchased – Main Course marked a huge change in the Bee Gees' sound. The group's earlier LPs, steeped in a dense romantic balladry, were beautifully crafted but too serious for any but hardcore fans. With special guest BOB STANLEY We were delighted that Bob Stanley was with us to talk about the Bee Gees' album, the terrific Main Course. Bob's latest offering is Children Of The World, a unique biography of the Bee Gees. Bob is a writer, musician, dj and film producer. Since founding influential pop group Saint Etienne, He has enjoyed a parallel career as a journalist and is the author of Yeah Yeah Yeah and 2023 Penderyn Music Book Prize Winner, Let's Do It: The Birth Of Pop. In the interviewer's chair was CAT Club stalwart, JASON BARNARD. Happy Trails. This event took place on 29th June 2023 in the Pigeon Loft at The Robin Hood, Pontefract, West Yorkshire. Episode 2786: Election Integrity; Protecting The Children Of The World
Preceded by the radio and dancefloor chart-topper 'You Should Be Dancing', and succeeded by further top ten album singles, 'Children Of The World' is as commercial as they come, whilst the double live LP 'Here At Last...' encapsulates the Bee Gees on stage and riding high on their newfound success. Stuart and Cristiano delve into these two albums, and are honoured to have Vince Melouney answer their questions on 'Let It Ride', a song which he co-wrote with Barry Gibb in 1976. "What you doin' on your bed on your back?" the Bee Gees ask, and quite right too, as 1976 is as productive a year as ever for the Brothers Gibb. We should all be dancing! Also joining us for the first time since TableOC broke the story about his firing of long time producer Shane, TigheFighterX1Streaming NewsTwitch Streamer Average Harry Devastated After Being banned on TwitchAverage Harry has been going through a rough patch which started in October 2020. A video of Harry crying after being mocked by a bunch of strangers on live stream went viral. Since then, he has been steadily gaining a lot of followers. He applied to become a Twitch partner but his application was rejected when the streaming platform found out that Average Harry had created his account before he was 13 years old.Twitch has been very strict with enforcing age-related policies and Average Harry broke those rules. Since then, it appears he has been permanently banned after Twitch noticed some discrepancies in his account details and age. Harry has been understandably agitated with this decision as he roughly had around 90,000 followers on his account.OX - Do you think its fair for Twitch to retroactively enforce this rule? They have been glad to take money from his subs up until this point.Madden streamer Buckkerz seen screaming at child, breaking controllerOn Thursday night, a clip from Twitch streamer Buckkerz that showed him screaming at his young child after losing at a video game went viral. In the clip, Buckkerz (whose legal name hasn't been confirmed by Insider) can be seen playing "Madden 21" with his toddler son on his lap. After having his in-game throw intercepted, the streamer yells "god dam---" as he throws his controller down, breaking it. "F---ing $300 f---ing controller" he yells as the young child screams on camera."I'm about to go before I lose it," he says, placing the child down in a chair before screaming directly in its face "shut the f--- up!"His webcam then disappears and the stream cuts off.For a brief period, after the clip had hit Reddit, Buckkerz changed his Twitch channel name to "Imsorry1234556" before the channel was taken offline. It is unclear if the account was removed by the streamer or if it was banned by Twitch. Twitch did not respond for comment by publication time.Tighe- How should we as a community and Twitch itself deal with situations like this?Forsen faces more Twitch drama as classic emotes removed - GENERAL - NewsSoon after his return from a month-long ban, content creator Sebastian "Forsen" Fors is facing even more backlash on Twitch.Forsen told viewers last night that some of his classic emotes were being removed because the streaming platform felt they were potentially offensive. The removed emotes include ForsenTake, ForsenA, ForsenBreak, and ForsenDED. When used together, the four emotes spell out "stop streaming" and hint that zero people are watching.ForsenDED was possibly added so Forsen could annoy Byron "Reckful" Bernstein specifically. Reckful would often appear frustrated when his viewer count was lower than usual, so Forsen created the "zero viewership" emote just to mess with him. Reckful ended up banning the emote from his chatStump - It feels like this guy keeps coming up. Should we do something controversial to get some clout?Tech/Gaming News4. Microsoft Files Patent to Create Chatbots That Imitate Dead PeopleMicrosoft has finally pierced the veil, the thin line between life and death. Sounds like a lot of hocus pocus but they have found a way to communicate with the dead. From IGNMicrosoft has filed a patent that would allow the company to digitally revive deceased loved ones as chatbots, using the individual's personal information. The Independent reports that the tech giant has raised the possibility of creating an AI-based chatbot that would be built upon the profile of a person, which includes their "images, voice data, social media posts, electronic messages," among other types of personal information. It's understood that the chatbot would then be able to simulate human conversation through voice commands and/or text chats.Microsoft has taken the concept a step further by suggesting that a 2D or 3D model of a specific person could potentially be created, using "images and depth information, or video data" of an individual in order to build a chatbot that has the same characteristics and behaviour based on the digital output of a specific person.OX - Should Microsoft be playing God and creating personalities from others data?5. Animal Crossing is getting an official makeup lineIn our first story, You can now wear the Nook Look. Animal crossing themed makeup is on the way. From the verge -Nintendo has announced that it's collaborating with cosmetics brand ColourPop on a makeup collection inspired by Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The collection looks to be relatively extensive, including four powder palettes that are themed after characters in the game. Obviously, Isabelle is fabulous enough that she doesn't have to share with anyone and gets her own.ColourPop is no stranger to pop culture collaborations. It has lines inspired by Disney princesses, The Mandalorian, and even Sailor Moon. The Animal Crossing venture won't even be the first collab it's done with a gaming brand, as there's also a Candy Land x ColourPop line. The makeup collection will launch on January 28th. Hopefully it doesn't have the stock issues that have plagued Nintendo recently.Tighe - Are we missing out here by not having a ToC makeup line? It seems like maybe this is a case of putting a brand on everything and anything.6. Snapchat Adds Public View Counts to its TikTok-Like 'Spotlight' FeedLast night on the podcast we spoke about instagram bringing back like counts and their implication on the platform. Well now another social media company is heading down that path as well. From the piece -Snapchat has taken another step towards making its TikTok-like 'Spotlight' feed more similar to TikTok, by adding public view counts on Spotlight clips. The view count is displayed at the lower left of screen, providing more context as to each video's popularity. But It's not exactly the same. On TikTok, the view count is displayed on the video thumbnail, not on the playback overlay itself. But clearly, Snap is looking to replicate the same display options where it canFor Snapchat, it's hard to tell whether its Spotlight feed, which it added back in November, will end up being a winner for the app. Snapchat remains hugely popular with younger users, and is a key connection tool for many in that cohort. But chasing trends has never been Snapchat's thing - in fact, it was the one making the trends up till now.Stump - What are your thoughts on this? How do you feel seeing the numbers truly affects people?

As his radio alarm clock went off one morning in March of 1985, Los Angeles radio personality, Sonny Melendrez, was awakened by the pure voice of a child singing the words, “We are the world. We are the children.” In his groggy state, he remembers thinking to himself, what an obvious idea: A children's version of the worldwide anthem – We Are The World. Then, as he gained consciousness, he realized that the “child” he had heard was, in fact, Michael Jackson and what he was listening to was the original recording. That afternoon, on his LA Magic 106 radio show, Sonny shared his vision of gathering the most talented children in Los Angeles and giving them the opportunity to do their part for the charity created to benefit those starving in Ethiopia – USA For Africa. What followed in the next 60 days was the experience of a lifetime that touched the lives of countless children, parents and volunteers, raising money for this most noble cause. This is the remarkable story of The Children of the World Project and their Grammy nominated version of We Are The World as told by Sonny and his very special guest, Los Angeles entertainment manager, Roger Neal, who played a key role in the success of the project.

Jedd Medefind loves journeying life with his wife, Rachel. He relishes wrestling matches with his five children—Siena, Marin, Eden, Lincoln, and Phoebe. Most of all, he desires to reflect the heart of Jesus Christ in all of life. Jedd has seen (and experienced!) that lives are turned upside-down when Christians begin to reflect God’s heart through adoption, foster care and service to orphans worldwide. This kind of love transforms not only vulnerable children, but also those who open hearts and homes to them. Churches begin to look different, too, as the entire community pulls together for children who’ve known great hurt. Finally, the change touches even onlookers, who encounter the Gospel not only in words, but made visible before their eyes. Desiring to spur this kind of transformation through the Church, Jedd serves as President of the Christian Alliance for Orphans. Through CAFO, more than 190 respected organizations unite in shared initiatives, along with a wide network of churches. CAFO’s membership works in tandem to inspire and equip families, churches and organizations for effective service to vulnerable children and families — from adoption and US foster care, to aid and empowerment programs worldwide. Prior to his this role, Jedd served in the White House as a Special Assistant to President George W. Bush, leading the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. In this post, he oversaw reform efforts across the government to make community- and faith-based groups central partners in all Federal efforts to aid the needy, from prisoner reentry to global AIDS. As described by the Harvard Political Review, these reforms “fundamentally changed the government’s strategy for improving the lives of the downtrodden…” Previously, Jedd held a range of posts in the California State Legislature. He also helped establish the California Community Renewal Project, which strengthens nonprofits in some of the state’s most challenged communities. He has worked, studied and served in more than thirty countries, with organizations ranging from Price-Waterhouse in Moscow to Christian Life Bangladesh. Books written by Jedd include Upended and Four Souls. He also writes articles and op-eds for publications ranging from the Wall Street Journal and Washington Post to Comment Magazine, and engages radio interviews with both faith-based and mainstream outlets, from NPR and Al Jazeera to Moody Radio. Jedd’s most recent book, Becoming Home, offers a brief-yet-rich exploration of how families and communities can embrace vulnerable children with wisdom and love through adoption, foster care, mentoring and more.
