The radio personality, bar owner (Circle Bar, Lakeside Lounge NYC), and rock ’n’ roll musicologist moved to the punk rock ground zero of 1977 Lower East Side at age 18, meeting the Cramps, the Ramones, Richard Hell, and Lester Bangs on his very first day in town. His original WFMU radio show (’85-’97) established an outlet for unhinged rockers, blues wailers, greaseball classics, and instrumental madness from his massive collection of 45s and 78s. His new The Hound NYC radio show and Hound Howl podcast carry on that same love of music from the edge. Growing up on the road with Spencer Bohren, his troubadour father, Andre saw the music game from the inside out. His early rock and roll affinity for drums and guitars led to playing with Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes and Rory Danger and the Danger Dangers. His classical piano mastery led to symphonic bookings and a drive to present the repertoire in the venues of the common man. As the producer for his father's final collaboration with songwriting collective the Write Brothers, “Into the Sky,” Andre brings the family tradition full circle. Topics include Canal St. drag races, Mid-city car burglaries, classic obits, college openings, canine COVID, presidential idiocy, a music school band, a family on tour, home schooling, a white sheep, rock clichés, classical live-streams, the Buddy D. parade, tough auditions, the Whippersnappers, theatrical rockabilly, Moby Dick, Chaz Fest, Jim McCormick, a diagnosis, a final recording session, a Panther Burns set, lessons learned, a record release, future dates, a Circle Bar rent party, and much more. This time i decided to speed up a bit earlier, so the grooves are not that lazy ) At the end when i got a bit drunk and atmosphere at the bar changed i decided to play some tracks from the beginning of this gig, don't mind that.
This is a 4 hour cut from 7h 30m set played a week ago at a small new venue. I'm still trying to understand what kind of sound suits better, this time the selection looks more solid, though a bit dark at the beginning. People were dancing like crazy. Sorry, forgot to fade in the end )
A gig that i played at Circle Bar on august 2nd 2019. That was a strange selection, was experimenting and changing styles constantly, searching for a proper sound.

Welcome to the amazing crazy world of Tony Tocco, circling the Earth at 5x the speed of life. Ray accurately describes Tony as having an influence on more hip New Orleans places than almost anybody in town. Tony was on the floor the night Bayona opened, spent a decade at Gautreau s, was the co founder of Snake and Jake s Xmas Club Lounge, The Circle Bar, and his current super success, Atchafalya. Tony s plus one, David "Feel No" Payne, has an equally storied NOLA dining pedigree spanning Bayona, NOLA, Galataoire s, among a laundry list of other notable eateries. Tony and Feel No are equally matched sides of the same coin, their most stark difference being Feel No still has a flip phone and Tony is the creator of a groundbreaking app, Specialus. Specialus allows chefs and restaurateurs to get around the filter of dining review apps, like Yelp, and talk directly to customers. Chefs or servers make a short video showcasing the restaurant s nightly special and showing a hand held phone sweep around the restaurant so diners get to see the food and the space for themselves, without having to wade through a hundred amateur reviewers opinions. Margo is out of town on the beach in Bali. Her tan will fade but she ll never get over missing this classic edition of Midnight Menu 1.
Mac in the hizzouse! Plus, Wednesday Oscar, fun with sound, the best TV in the world and tuna, tuna, tuna fish!
It's amazing they even survived the Circle Bar following the final round of the series, yet they went a step further and knocked out the Vegas review without a wink of sleep.

His membership in the 610 Stompers, an all man dance troupe, shows he doesn't take himself too seriously. That quality serves him well as he faces the Troubled Men. Topics include Canal St. drag races, Mid-city car burglaries, classic obits, college openings, canine COVID, presidential idiocy, a music school band, a family on tour, home schooling, a white sheep, rock clichés, classical live-streams, the Buddy D. parade, tough auditions, the Whippersnappers, theatrical rockabilly, Moby Dick, Chaz Fest, Jim McCormick, a diagnosis, a final recording session, a Panther Burns set, lessons learned, a record release, future dates, a Circle Bar rent party, and much more.
