When it comes to growing your podcast and building your business, a joint venture partnership is a powerful way to find success. Many people view a JV partnership in a very simplistic way. The most common JV partnership is an agreement to promote a product or service in exchange for an affiliate commission. But, there are many other ways to leverage a JV partnership. Why would people want to promote you? This is a common question, especially if you have a small audience or small email list. There are various reasons, and money is only one of them. PARTNERSHIP FOR MONEY Money is surely one motivation for promotion. This is what most people think of when they hear JV partnership. In this agreement, you would provide your promotional partner an affiliate link through your system like ThriveCart. You can see the power of ThriveCart at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/ThriveCart. Your partner promotes your offer using their affiliate link. When their audience makes a purchase through your link, your partner earns a commission on the sale. You can also created a simple referral system if you're a coach. In this system, your partner would send an introductory email to you and the person they are referring to you. If that person signs up for your coaching, you can pay your referral partner a referral fee. This method requires a little more manual work, but you don't need a lot of software to help you set it up. Just track it with a spreadsheet. YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY The second reason people would promote you is because they love you. Your friends and family would be willing to promote you, because they want to see you succeed. Reach out to the people you know who also know others who could be your ideal client. Ask if they will help you spread the word. YOUR CONTENT People may want to promote you, because they love what you do. Your superfans love to be part of a winning team. When Alex Hormozi launched his new book “$100M Leads”, he had thousands of people promoting him. These people received a bonus chapter of the book when they hit a threshold. Alex's partners weren't in it for the money. They just loved what Alex teaches and wanted to be part of something exciting. He simply empowered his superfans to spread the word. PARTNERSHIP SWAPS The next reason people might promote you is for exchange of promotions. Partners will often promote you in exchange for promoting them. Sometimes, your list isn't big enough to match your partner's list. How can you give equal exchange? My tech guy wanted to be part of an AI summit. Unfortunately, he didn't have an email list largest enough to qualify. My tech guy came to me and offered some services in exchange for using my list. I will email about the summit to fulfill his obligation to the summit. In exchange, I will receive some tech work. He will promote the summit. In exchange, he will get exposure to the summit audience to promote his services. Get creative with your partnerships. ASSOCIATION PARTNERSHIP That other reason people might promote you is for association. These people may want to gain the credibility just by being associated with you. I volunteered as the Dean of Podcasting in Dan Miller's 48 Days Eagles community. I happily offered value in the community and promoted it whenever I could. The biggest benefit I received was being associated with Dan. He was a great man, and I was honored to be part of his world. Find people who want to be in your world. WAYS TO PROMOTE There are a variety of ways people can promote you and you can promote others when you create a partnership. The easiest way is to feature them on your podcast and get on their show. This is the best way to grow your audience. Podcast listeners listen to podcasts. Get on other shows. Cross promotion is the second way to promote each other. This can be in exchange for money as described before. It could also be simple exposure. In a cross-promotion, I could mail your lead magnet offer to my email list. In exchange, you could email my offer to your list. No money exchanges hands. It's a simple promotion. Next, you could use gift giveaways in your partnership. A giveaway is a collection of gifts contributed by a group of experts. Each expert emails their list a link to the giveaway for the free gifts. As people visit the giveaway page, the giveaway host grows her list by people opting in for the giveaway. Contributors grow their email lists by people opting in for their gift. Many times there is a fee to participate in a giveaway. It is nominal, but usually worth it to grow your email list. I love using summits as a way to create partnerships. This is like a series of webinars centered around a theme, but each expert doesn't sell anything. They simply offer free gifts to build their email lists. Live events can also be used in a partnership. This is similar to a summit. It's just live. You can appear on my stage in exchange for a fee or promoting the event. UNIQUE JV PARTNERSHIP At my Podcast Profits Summit, Marc Mawhinney laid out the power of joint venture partnerships. Marc Mawhinney is a lifelong entrepreneur who helps coaches get more clients without paid advertising. He achieves this with his coaching programs, his podcast Natural Born Coaches, his Facebook group The Coaching Jungle, and his Secret Coach Club. Marc has been a speaker at events like Social Media Marketing World, frequently makes media appearances and contributes for Entrepreneur.com, and is a master at the joint venture partnership. I want to share this interview to help you see how you can implement JV partnerships in your podcast and business. Enjoy. Marc's May 2023 issue of his Secret Coach Club newsletter was dedicated to the topic of flat fee JVs. You can get a copy of that newsletter, which sells for $97, at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com.flatfeejv. If you have listened to the Off-Farm Income Podcast for some time, then you have likely heard me speak of Dan Miller on more than one occasion.  Since 2009, Dan has been a mentor, inspiration and "permission giver" to me.  It was around 2009 that I decided that I wanted to change my life, and I started dreaming of entrepreneurship.  It was also then that I discovered Dan and started consuming his content. Since that time I met Dan in person and became friends with him in 2015.  I talked all about this in episode #67.  In 2017 I had Dan on my show for the very first time on epsiode #330.  And, in 2022 I was a guest of Dan's as a featured entrepreneur for his private Eagles Community, which I recaptured on episode #1362. Dan was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer on December 7th, 2023.  And he passed on January 23rd.  In today's episode I want to pay tribute to this man who has meant so much to me, and who helped to unlocked the door to the life I was dreaming about.

Your podcast gives you great opportunities to create multiple streams of income. The show is like the gateway for your clients to enter your world. After they enter, help them solve their problems with a specific stream of income. Dan Miller of 48 Days to the Work You Love joins us on this episode today to discuss how his podcast sits at the center of his revenue universe. ONE STREAM OF INCOME Before you can create multiple streams of income, you need to get your first stream producing income. Focus on one before you launch others. There is power in focus. There is a saying that is contributed to Confucius. Then again, many sayings are. The saying is, "The man who chases two rabbits catches neither." When your focus is divided, you accomplish very little. Get your first stream of income working before you launch the next. You will find much more success. I suggest you start with the easiest stream of income. The easiest is the one that is easiest for you. We each have our own super power. Leverage your strengths. Before we talk with Dan Miller, let's look at a few options for your first stream of income. Some of these links are affiliate links, one of my streams of income. When you purchase through an affiliate link, it doesn't cost you any more than it would to buy directly from the site. However, I may receive a small commission by promoting it. I only promote products I use and believe in. The last thing I want to do is promote something that isn't something I trust will help you. ONE-ON-ONE COACHING One-on-one coaching is typically the easiest place to start if you teach people how to do something. When you share your expertise to help people overcome their challenge, this stream of income is easy to set up. First, determine the outcome you help your client achieve. Next, offer that coaching to your audience with a clear benefit. You can do your coaching calls on Zoom or the phone. Have clients pay you through PayPal or something similar. My first client sent me a money order. Craft a simple agreement, so each person knows what to deliver and what they can expect. Now you're rolling. GROUP COACHING Group coaching is another option. This stream of income takes a little longer to get traction. With one-on-one coaching, you only need one person. For group, you need multiple people. You will probably start your group with one person and let it grow. Just let the one person know they will get personal attention until others enroll. As you enroll multiple people, it is much easier when you set up recurring payments through a shopping cart. It is a challenge manually keeping track of who paid and when payments are due. I use ThriveCart. They currently offer a lifetime deal, but that is going away soon. You can see if the deal is still available through my affiliate link at www.podcasttalentcoach.com/ThriveCart. COURSES Courses are a great way to do the work once and sell it multiple times. However, it takes consistent marketing. Don't believe if you build it they will come. You need to consistently get your course in front of your clients. When you create your course, solve one specific problem. I made the mistake of putting everything I know into my first course. Nobody bought it. Nobody wanted everything. They simply wanted to solve their most pressing problem. To create a course, you need a course platform. ThriveCart actually has a course platform built in called Learn+. You can see it on that same page at www.podcasttalentcoach.com/ThriveCart. I have also used Groove. It's an all-in-one platform that is pretty powerful. You can see that at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/Groove. I have also used Teachable for my courses. Teachable is easy to learn. However, they standard plan has recently limited users to five courses. I've outgrown that, so I've moved onto other platforms. There are many other course platforms. Do your homework to find one that is perfect for you. MEMBERSHIPS The next powerful stream of income is a membership site. This could be a combination of coaching, courses, and content. There are a ton of ways to set up your membership site. It really depends what you want to include and accomplish. There are plugins available for your Wordpress site, like WishList Member. You can use membership platforms, like Might Networks. The all-in-one platforms like Groove and Kajabi also have membership options in their systems. You can take a look at GrooveMember inside of Groove at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/Groove. Your membership platform will control your content, which members have access, and how they pay for that access. AFFILIATE COMMISSIONS Affiliate commissions are a great stream of income to get started generating income. The benefit of affiliate commissions is the ease. You don't have to build anything. You simply promote others and get paid when something sells. The down side of affiliate marketing is the work. You won't typically create repeat customers, because you are selling for somebody else. The provider will have the relationship. Just remember to vet the products and services you promote. Never be an affiliate for something you haven't used yourself or done complete due diligence to ensure the quality of the product and provider. By law, you cannot say you've used something or that it delivers a result unless you have used the product or service and receive that result. Be careful what you say. PRODUCTS You can also create a stream of income with products. You might write books, create software, or build apps. This is a great way to do the work once and sell it again and again. The benefit of products is the relationship. You can create repeat customers and lead them to the next step with you. The down side is the revenue and time. You won't make much off the sale of a book or app. You'll need to sell a lot to make any meaningful revenue. Products also take a long time to create. You don't typically write a book in a weekend. Therefore, let your product lead to something bigger. DAN MILLER Dan Miller has multiple streams of income. And his podcast sits at the middle of that network of goods and services. Dan is author of the New York Times best-selling 48 Days To The Work You Love and Wisdom Meets Passion, No More Dreaded Monday and An Understanding Heart. His 48 Days Podcast consistently ranks in the top 1% of all podcasts worldwide and his 48DaysEagles.com community is viewed as an example around the world for those seeking to find – or create – the work and the life they love. Dan has an amazing community call the 48 Days Eagles. I am the Dean of Podcasting in the membership. It is an amazing way to find or create the work you love. Dan is holding a free 48-Day Dream Live Blueprint event online on November 14th, 48 days before the end of the year. If you would like to create big dreams for next year, visit www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/dream. You can see the full 48 Days Eagles membership opportunity at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/eagles. Dan's podcast sits at the center of his multiple streams of income and he joins us to share some tips with us today.   If you don't have a mentor who can take your hand and walk you every step of the way, go to www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/apply, click the button and apply to have a chat with me. We will develop your plan and see how I can help and support you to achieve your podcast goals.

But people get hung up when they don't know how to get started, and they have fear of the tech that might be required.I know that's what held me up and kept me from launching the More Than a Pastor show for several years. That person was Erik K. An Amazing Year – PTC 420

It was an amazing year for Podcast Talent Coach. And, I want to thank you for all of the support. It is my hope that this show and my content helped you reach a few of your goals. It is important that we take time to reflect on the great things in our lives. While I was traveling over the past week, I did just that. TAKE FOCUSED ACTION THIS YEAR What I realized is that focused action makes a big difference. In September, I began following a new coach. He put me on a journey to specifically follow up with those I've talked with over the year. I set out to serve these people and continue the conversation we began. I delivered content and resources that I felt could help each of them individually. There was no sell or ask. It was just service. Rather than approaching it with what I wanted, I went back and reviewed those original conversations. Then, I sent each of them something that would help with the challenge we discussed. Some of those led to additional calls. Others were just notes of thanks. Either way, it was focused action to help more coaches. Over this past year, I had 60 strategy calls with various coaches and podcasters. However, 25 of those calls have come in the last 8 week, because I was intentional. What I accomplished in the first 10 months of the year was nearly matched in the last 2. Those calls have also led to $10k in the bank and another $50k potentially coming right after the first of the year. That is what intentional action can do for your business. MY LATEST JOURNEY If you have been following me on the Podcast Talent Coach Facebook page, I've been keeping you up to date on my journey to earn $100K in 100 days. Each day, I share what I've learned, what I've tried, what has worked and what didn't happen as I had planned. It has been fun. We are a little over halfway through the journey. Many entrepreneurs take December off. They think people aren't doing business or making buying decisions around the holidays. This month has been huge for me. It has turned this year on its head. I have built new packages for clients. Opportunities to speak to a variety of groups have come my way. The way the tail end of the year has come together, I am excited to see what January will bring. WORKSHOPS IN THE NEW YEAR On January 7, I'm holding a free workshop called "How To Launch Your Podcast In 30 Days To Attract Your Ideal Clients." If you haven't launched your show yet, you can register for the workshop at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/workshop. I am currently enrolling podcasters into Audience Explosion Blueprint. We talked about that on the last episode. You can find details on Audience Explosion Blueprint at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/audience. That deal is going away very soon. NEW CONNECTIONS 2022 also brought a lot of new connections and opportunities. Dan Miller invited me to be the Dean of Podcasting for the 48 Days Eagles community. It is such an honor. While serving in the 48 Days Eagles community, I conducted two Eagles Nests. Those are free mini-courses where I teach about podcasting for a group. I also lead one Dean Intensive. That was a higher level group. Get details on 48 Days Eagles open house at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/48days. Iman Aghay invited me to be a coach at Collaborate. That is my favorite joint venture event. It was an absolute honor to be part of that. Over the year, I was involved in 15 different giveaways. I presented on 3 different summits or masterminds. My courses were included in 3 bundles. My email list grew by 2,222 over the year. I truly believe that growth was due to my intentional, focused action. A YEAR OF PODCAST GROWTH The podcast grew as well. This podcast was a solo show for the first 275 episodes. Slowly, I began to invite select guests to be interviewed on the podcast. The purpose of this show is to give you the help you need to grow your audience and fill your coaching program with your ideal clients. Over the past year, I interviewed 25 people for the show. The results show you like both the solo shows and the interviews. The top 11 episodes of the past year consist of 6 interviews and 5 solo episodes. The difference in downloads between #1 and #11 is only 46 downloads. It has been pretty consistent with the big episodes. Many podcasters want to use their podcast to create an online business. Rob Kaiser wants to use his podcast to help grow his family business that produces hand-crafted products. York Meadow Farm creates batches of probiotic-rich fermented foods and all-natural bath and body products, scented with pure essential oils. They are sold online and at farmers' markets. Now, he is ready to take it to the next level. There are many trainings that help you create online business. The funnels, the landing pages and the process. But, how do you grow a business that sells physical products? MASTERMIND There is a power that comes with surrounding yourself with other powerful minds. Napoleon Hill talked about it in "Think and Grow Rich". It is the power of the mastermind. When two or more minds come together, the power they create is unstoppable. If you are working to grow your business, you should find a group of your own. There are various reasons to join a mastermind group. Through the collective mind, you will come across ideas and solutions that you would not have found by yourself. If you have ever been in a true brainstorming session, you understand how all ideas (even the bad ones) lead to other ideas.   In a mastermind, you will be able to learn from others' skills and experiences and expand your own knowledge. Sometimes we don't know what we don't know. Others can help you see your blind spots.   By surrounding yourself with others, you will be much more committed to your goals as you openly share them with your peers. You will have accountablility partners.   With this group, you will have a small network of people who are always willing to help you. Being a solopreneur doesn't necessarily mean you have to go it alone. There are many other benefits that you will discover once you get into a mastermind. EAGLES I met Rob Kaiser in the 48 Days Eagles Community. 7 Experts Share The Strategy – PTC 400

Podcast Talent Coach

For my 400th episode, I've reached out to 7 of my favorite podcasters to share the strategy they use to grow their business. THE BEGINNING This podcast actually started as a blog. After writing for a few months, Dave Jackson from School of Podcasting reached out. Dave is an amazing, generous expert in the podcasting space. I had listened to many of his episodes and knew what he was all about. One Saturday afternoon in 2013, Dave and I jumped on the phone. He told me he saw my stuff on the New Media Expo blog and liked what I was offering. Over the next hour, Dave and I talked about our past, what we were doing online and our visions for the future. We realized there were many ways we could help each other. At one point, Dave asked why I didn't have a podcast. Great question. Podcasters would probably be more interested in listening to a podcast rather than reading a blog. So, I pivoted. On that call, I decided I would launch my own show to help podcasters improve their content and give them more confidence in their show. The first episode of Podcast Talent Coach was published on July 19, 2013. I'd love to say I've published a show every week since. But, that's not the case. I've had plenty of battles with Impostor Syndrome and motivation. There was one summer early on when I wasn't sure I was on the right path. No new episodes were published for a few months. I finally got back on track and have been publishing fresh content ever since. INTERVIEWS Most episodes of the show have been solo shows. Just me sharing information to help you transform your information into entertainment. On Episode 100, I had the first voice on my podcast that wasn't mine. That episode featured other podcasters asking questions. Episode 204 featured my first pseudo-interview. It was actually a coaching sessing with Tony Muckleroy of Jeep Talk Show. This actually became one of my most popular episodes. Probably because Tony is so great. My first real interview happened on Episode 276. Zoe Routh joined us to talk about the ways she uses her podcast to grow her business. Over the years, I've interviewed a few other experts. But, most of my episodes are still solo shows. Teaching has been my strategy. This may change in the future. After 400 episodes, I'm starting to feel the itch to talk to others. That's the great thing about podcasting. It's your show. You can do anything you'd like. You make the rules. We'll see how things go. I just want to thank you for being on the ride with me. GROW YOUR BUSINESS On this episode, 7 of my favorite podcasters will share their strategy to use their podcast to grow their business. DAN MILLER When I first started my online journey, I started following Dan Miller. He is the best selling author of 48 Days To The Work You Love. He hosts the 48 Days podcast as well. I discovered Dan through Dave Ramsey. The year isn't so clear, but I believe the first product I purchased from Dan came in 2011. Here is Dan sharing how his strategy to use his podcast to drive his business. Thanks, Dan. Find Dan Miller at https://www.48days.com/listen/. DAVE JACKSON As I mentioned, Dave Jackson was instrumental in the creation of this podcast. He and I also host the Podcast Review Show together. You can find that at https://www.podcastreviewshow.com. Dave also uses his show to drive his business. Thanks, Dave. You can find Dave Jackson at https://schoolofpodcasting.com/episodes/. JON FUGLER While growing my business, I discovered Internet Business Mastery. While in that group, I met Jon Fugler. Jon wanted to start a mastermind and was looking for members. I took him up on the invitation. On February 18, 2017, I was sitting in the parking lot of the ice rink on the campus of Iowa State University. My son was there for a tournament. This was our first mastermind call. Over the years, our mastermind had a variety of members. But, Jon and I have been consistent since that first call. Jon has radio experience just like me. He played college baseball as did his boys. At the time, Jon was running Recruit Me to help students land college sports scholarships without hiring an advisor. He has a great story of getting out of that business and into his faith. Here is Jon. Thanks a ton, Jon. You can find Jon Fugler at https://www.freshfaith247.com. MARC MAWHINNEY There always comes a time when you realize you don't know what you don't know. That's when you need a coach. That came for me in March of 2019. Marc Mawhinney runs the Coaching Jungle Facebook Group. He hosts the Natural Born Coaches podcast and is an amazing coach. I discovered Marc while working through a program to improve my sales. One of the instructors in that course recommended Marc. I joined his group, listened to his show and hired him as my coach. Here is Marc's strategy to drive his business with is podcast. Thanks, Marc. You can find Marc Mawhinney at https://www.naturalborncoaches.com/episodes/ MIKE VAN PELT Mike Van Pelt and I connected in 48 Days Eagles with Dan Miller. I helped Mike launch his True Man podcast. Mike has a huge heart and helps men with his coaching. Here is Mike sharing his strategy to grow his business. Thanks, Mike. You can find Mike Van Pelt at http://truemanpodcast.com/. MICHAEL GRIFFITHS I am always looking for great ways to grow your audience and business. While working with Marc Mawhinney, I started pursuing joint venture partnerships. The power of partnerships is amazing. Referrals are also an amazing way to get in front of your ideal customers. One day on Marc's podcast, I heard Michael Griffiths. He is the founder of Referral Marketing Guru and hosts the Get More Referrals Today podcast. As a referral expert, of course Michael uses his podcast to build relationships. You can find Michael Grittiths at https://www.referralmarketingguru.com.au JIM PADILLA Now that I have build my courses and coaching programs, I need help creating a selling process. Enter Jim and Cindy Padilla. They run Gain The Edge and Sales Team Ready. Jim also hosts the Sales Team Ready podcast. Jim and cindy have been helping me get clear on my offers and build my selling process. It has been amazing. Here is Jim sharing how he uses his podcast to drive his business. Thanks, Jim. You can find Jim at https://www.gtenow.com. YOUR STRATEGY Big thanks to these 7 amazing experts for sharing their strategies with us today. Hit their websites. They are all experts and some of the best in their niche. It has been 400 episodes for me. Thanks so much for supporting me and the show. I appreciate all the time you've given me over the years. Some time ago, I was studying a martial art called Kajukenbo.  My instructor was a very nice man with a lot of experience and training.  And on one of those nights the man who had instructed him came to our class, observed and offered some instruction to the students of his student. On today's episode of the Off-Farm Income Podcast, I am lucky enough to offer you a similar experience.  Dan Miller, the famed author of 48 Days To The Work You Love and the host of the vastly popular podcast, the 48 Days Internet Radio Show, is our guest host.  And, he is interviewing me! It was my huge honor to be invited by Dan to be his featured guest for a private group that he facilitates called the 48 Days Eagles Community.  On Monday's, Dan brings a guest on for their Monday Mentor Training, and on 4/11/22 it was me!  I discovered Dan Miller in 2009 when I was first dreaming about a different lifestyle...actually, the lifestyle that I have now.  If it had not been for Dan, I wouldn't be living the life I am living today. Dan and I have got to know each other over the years, and he has kept informed about my progress as an entrepreneur and podcaster.  I can't tell you how special it is that he thinks my story and experience is valuable enough to share with his exclusive audience.  And today you get a special peek behind the curtain. Publishing your podcast and running your business can get expensive if you let it. However, money isn't always the answer. There are a variety of ways to get what you need to publish and monetize. Money is just one way. Today, I want to help you get creative and discover a few other ways to get stuff done. ACCELERATOR Developing and following a strategy is difficult to accomplish alone. How long have you been trying to figure this out on your own? When you get a collective group together who are all trying to accomplish the same thing, the transformation is amazing. The things accomplished are phenomenal. One plus one ends up equalling three through the power of collaboration. That is why I started the Podcat Profit Accelerator. It is a group of podcasters coming together to help and support each other to achieve growth and monetization together. Napoleon Hill, author of "Think and Grow Rich", calls it the Mastermind Principle. Hill describes the Mastermind Principle as "The coordination of knowledge and effort between two or more people who work towards a definite purpose in a spirit of harmony … no two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind". He calls this the Mastermind. The Podcast Profit Accelerator is just that. It is a group of people coming together working toward a definite purpose. If you would like help creating and implementing your growth and monetization strategy, come check out this new podcast membership. BENEFITS The Podcast Profit Accelerator provides you a ton of benefits every month. These include ... Live Calls 2x/month where I teach, we brainstorm, we hot seat, I coach and we help each other reach our goals by taking action with accountability and implementation. Access To Recordings in the members portal to revisit anytime you'd like. Podcast Profits Video Library for deeper learning. Podcast Workshops that I do. I have another coming on April 9th. It is $197 and covers audience growth over 3 hours. You're in for free. Private Facebook Support Group to get your questions answered between calls and connect with other members. Toolkit and resource library with over 25 templates and tools. Onboarding Call to get you started quickly and easily. The total value of this is worth well over ten grand individually. Because we are working as a group, you can get all for only $997/year or $97/month. Just the 2 calls a month is worth more than $97. Come see the power of the collective mind in reaching your goals. Get details and enroll at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/accelerator. Let's talk about creative ways to get what you need. TRADE Rather than spending money on products or services, consider trading. If there is a service you need, could you provide your service to that expert in exchange for their expertise and training? You never know what is possible until you ask. They could be in the same situation you are. If you want to get in a giveaway, but can't afford the $297 this month, offer to allow the giveaway host to participate in your giveaway for free in exchange for participating in their giveaway. Get creative. LEVERAGE EXPERTS Another way to save time and money is to leverage experts. If you don't have the time and money to create another program for your clients, leverage another expert. Some experts will give you a course or present to your group simply for the exposure. Not all people are driven by money. Some are driven by exposure and other by the influence and authority. Giving an expert the opportunity to be on stage in front of your audience could be motivation enough to provide you the content you need. This would save you the time creating another course. AFFILIATE Rather than spending money on a product or service, you could become an affiliate of that company. You could promote the product or service on your show. When it sells, you earn a commission that could pay for your own. I'm an affiliate of Dan Millers's 48 Days Eagles membership. In fact, I'm the Dean of Podcasting there. It is a great group of entrepreneurs helping each other grow. When people join through my affiliate link, I earn a small commission. That commission pays for my monthly membership. Find more about 48 Days Eagles at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/jv. REVIEW Another great way to save money is through product reviews. Companies will sometimes give you free product if you agree to review it on your podcast. This helps them get exposure. Your audience gets a REAL review. (Don't fake it – tell the truth.) You get a free product or service. GAVIN BELLE Today, we have a great conversation with Gavin Belle and help him find creative ways to scale his podcast. Gavin Belle is the owner of Pelican Media Group. It is dedicated to providing the most complete content consultancy experience possible. Their services include audio production, digital consultancy, web design and more. Find them at PelicanMediaGroup.com. You can find a link to all of Gavin's podcasts and more at https://linktr.ee/Pelicanmgi. ACCELERATOR Big thanks to Gavin Belle for joining us today. You can find him at PelicanMediaGroup.com. If you take away anything, look for creative ways to get things done rather than spending money. We talk a lot about those creative ways in the Podcast Profit Accelerator membership. It is a group of people coming together working toward a definite purpose. If you would like help creating and implementing your growth and monetization strategy, come check out this new podcast membership. Come see the power of the collective mind in reaching your goals. He teaches you how to introduce yourself, how to explain the help you need and how to explain how you can help others. When I attended my first Collaborate, I connected with 40 experts who were speaking to my ideal clients that I wanted to attract. It took me quite awhile to follow up with all 40. The next time I attended Collaborate, I decided to be more selective. I decided I would only connect with people who were perfect for me. At that event I still connected with 20 different experts. It was amazing. If you are looking to find partners who can get you in front of your ideal listeners to grow your audience, do yourself a favor and attend Collaborate. THRIVECART Now some people like to use specific software for specific purposes. They don't mind paying for individual platforms. This allows them to change platforms for various reasons if something better comes along. They would rather pay a little more and forego the convenience for the opportunity for choice. If that is you, there is a great affiliate platform called ThriveCart. You can get details and buy it for a one-time payment at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/thrivecart. ThriveCart helps you grow your income from existing traffic. You can create sales pages, affiliate links, and more with this powerful tool. You can get lifetime access to ThriveCart for a one-time payment of $495. You can get the pro version for a one-time payment of $690. Now ThriveCart may decide to move to a monthly fee at anytime. I'm not sure how long this lifetime offer will stick around. See if it is still available for you. Get the full details at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/thrivecart. LIBSYN When it come to your podcast hosting service, many people think all hosts are the same. That couldn't be further from the truth. Does your audio host have a revenue plan that will help them stick around for the long term? Having your host disappear after you have 100 episodes posted could cause you to lose all of your shows. Free is always best. It is hard to operate a business if there is no revenue model. How is the customer service? Can you actually get someone on the phone? How legitimate are the stats? Does your host even provide stats? I have used Libsyn as my host since I started Podcast Talent Coach in 2013. Now I recommend Libsyn to all of my clients. If you are not using Libsyn as your host yet, you can get your first month free by visiting www.Libsyn.com and using the code PTC. Actually, it's a little better than that. You really get the rest of the current month plus the entire next month free. So if you register on the 10th of the month, you get the rest of that month plus the entire next month free. With some levels, customer support will help you migrate your show. HOSTING AND MORE You get distribution to your audience's favorite apps and platforms everywhere with Libsyn. The platform gives you IAB v2.0 certified stats and in-depth audience analytics with the Advanced Podcast Hosting Plans. No, money is never the obstacle. Coming up with an idea and a plan is the real issue. If you have a great idea and a proven plan of action, people will throw money at you. In this episode I give an example of a very profitable business I started with $10.53. Questions: 1. Is the 48 Days Eagles community ok for someone who may not have entrepreneurial aspirations? 2. I have always been told that hard work pays off but in my case it seems in order to get ahead I need to be a jerk. 3. My wife and I want to start an interior painting business on the side to help us meet some financial goals. 4. How do you decide when a business just isn't working? 5. My issue isn't fear; it's lack of funds to get started on my business. I don't even have a couple hundred bucks. It feels like a leap, and yet you hope that just maybe there's more available to you. This week, we're revisiting one of our favorite podcast interviews - my conversation with my friend and purpose & life mentor, Mark Delaney. Mark and his wife Adena have spent their lives in the business of building people. When they became empty-nesters, they decided to go all-in with a mission to help people know their purpose. Mark and Adena designed a coaching program called The Purpose Mastermind. This process allows people to clarify their major life purpose in just one sentence. Mark and Adena will spend the rest of their lives proclaiming a simple message. “Every person has great purpose, they can know it clearly, and be set free to pursue it boldly.”In this conversation, we discuss Mark's story of leaving the comfortable to embrace more in his life, why living the life we really want feels like a leap (even though it shouldn't), and how much you will be changed as a person in the process of living your purpose. Some additional highlights include:-Why we look for things to numb or distract us, and the secret to breaking free from this-How knowing your purpose helps you really evaluate how well you lived today-Why we struggle with asking for help (and the reason why doing so is key to living the life you want)Please join me for this conversation with Mark and let's consider together how knowing our purpose brings clarity, direction, and fulfillment to our daily lives.Links and resources mentionedMark's website: markdelaney.meEmail mark@markdelaney.meChase the Lion by Mark Batterson: https://bookshop.org/a/1378/9781601428875 48 Days Eagles community w/ Dan Miller, New York Times Best Selling Author of 48 Days to The Work and Life You Love: https://www.48dayseagles.com/a/10052/UzHBhAb4Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched!Start for FREE48 Days Eagles CommunityLearn to create the work and life you love with a community of like-minded people.Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. Mark and Adena will spend the rest of their lives proclaiming a simple message. "Every person has great purpose, they can know it clearly, and be set free to pursue it boldly."In this conversation, we discuss Mark’s story of leaving the comfortable to embrace more in his life, why living the life we really want feels like a leap (even though it shouldn’t), and how much you will be changed as a person in the process of living your purpose. Some additional highlights include:-Why we look for things to numb or distract us, and the secret to breaking free from this-How knowing your purpose helps you really evaluate how well you lived today-Why we struggle with asking for help (and the reason why doing so is key to living the life you want)Join me for this conversation with Mark and let’s consider together how knowing our purpose brings clarity, direction, and fulfillment to our daily lives.Website URL: markdelaney.meEmail mark@markdelaney.meChase the Lion by Mark Batterson: https://bookshop.org/a/1378/9781601428875 48 Days Eagles community w/ Dan Miller, New York Times Best Selling Author of 48 Days to The Work and Life You Love: https://www.48dayseagles.com/a/10052/UzHBhAb4Join us for The Purpose Mastermind, beginning February 18th.
