Well in this podcast we are going to be talking a little bit about your schedule as a musician and what is the optimum time to really be creative and really help you as an artist who might have a full-time job or might have a side hustle as well to be to go full time. After speaking to a few of our mentors, as well as some of our members. So our members have been with us over a series of months and they have them working with us full-time in their music. While also a lot of the time having part-time jobs or part-time side gigs. So it sometimes can be really difficult to be able to prioritize your time and also have the time to be creative, more importantly. “What we learned over the last year is that a lot of artists need the space and breathing space to actually be creative on their own.” - Kimmy Dickson, Founder of HyperTribe Want to get your schedule together? Key Verse: Galatians 2:20: I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.I came up with a list to help us figure out who we are I have 6 things on my list, now 4 of the 6 things I will talk about will be different for everyone and we may not only have 5 things we may have more, but the first and the last thing on this list will be the same for all of us.God & Rest. And these two things as I was working it out in my mind were the two most important things and the two staples of our whole-self because we all will always need God and rest no matter what we are doing no matter who we are we all need these two things, but I want us to through this list and I will use my list as an example and then I want to challenge you to do the same and build your own list when we are done here or as we go how ever you want to do it to start figuring out who we are was a whole.guidelines for our listFirst: everyones list will always look different except for Christ as our fist listed item and Rest as our last. Second: there should be at least 1 physical aspect (ex: what you do for living), 1 adjective (description of who you are, and 1 thing you love to do aside from your daily job (hobby, sport etc) of your life on this list,Third: this is not set in stone. Nothing besides God and rest will be set instone on this list, things around us change, our circumstances change, our friends family jobs hobby's they all change they are all temporary so don't expect this list to be forever set in stone about who you are but for right now for the moment and the season you are in this is a list to help you figure it out who you are, Fourth: You have to seek God on this, you have sit down and ask God to point out the things that are suppose to be on this list, I say that because our goal here is to find out what those things are and live our lives in those things for Christ and not to allow other things to consume us, because the things that we are sure in Christ about are the things that Christ will use to bring us closer to his glory. And remember God can always do anything in an instant and we must embrace that this list that we are going to build is specifically to help us regain balance and clear understanding of who we currently are to help us hear God better Fifth and final: they all have to be in alignment with God, remember this isn't a willy nilly list of things this list is to help us not keep us down so if there is something in your life that you know I see it as cutting out all the fluff to help pus focus on God better because I feel so distracted by my current circumstance that I feel that's why God has me on this journey to better myself and my relationship with Him so lets get going. My list: 1. God (will be the same for all of us)2. Family3. Speaking4. Relationships5. Joy6.Rest (will be the same for all of us) ** your list may be longer but the first and the last one will be the same God&Rest. Thank you guys so much for tuning in and sticking with me till the end of today's episode, just a reminder in the show notes below you can find all of the main content talked about today including the Key verse and all of the scriptures I mention throughout the episode incase you missed any of them. SUPPORT MUSIC IS NOT A GENRE ON PATREON WATCH MUSIC is not a GENRE VIDEOS and MORE The conventional wisdom regarding music creation is that it involves instruments, voices & traditional elements of composition like chords, melodies, harmonies, rhythm. That is both true & false. TRUE that most music of the last 500 years has been created with most or all of these elements. FALSE because there are many ways of creating music that involve two or one or none of them. The whole truth is any new music, no matter how it comes about, is an act of creation. When sampling began in the 1980s, some people protested that this was not real creation. EVERY PART of that statement is false. Sampling – using pre-recorded music to create or enhance a new work, began in the 1940s, with the post-modern music movement “musique concrete”, using tape splicing. The term was coined in the 1970s. In the 1980s, sampling entered pop culture in a big way - hip hop and other electronic/rock music. It was a great time for this, because it was brand new to most people, and because the music industry hadn't yet set usage standards. That's where bootlegs come in. Once laws were in place that protected existing recorded material, artists had to pay to use samples. OR they could do an end run & put out their work for free. As long as an artist doesn't make money from a work, anything can be used without penalty. Once the internet was robust enough to handle mass distribution, an artist could release something for free that anyone could get access to. Even if this work didn't make money, it might make a career. Which is what happened for Danger Mouse – and this is where mashups enter. He had a brilliant idea. Why not take Jay-Z's The Black Album, mash it up with the Beatles' White Album, and call it The Grey Album? There are few people on earth who could afford to buy all that music to sample, so he put it out for free in 2004, and he's had a flourishing career ever since. He didn't just sync up tracks from each album, he weaved them in ways that put ALL of the music into a new context. He used old existing things to bring something new into existence. He CREATED MUSIC. Thus, the birth of the mashup – NOPE. Wrong. And this is where the Beatles Time Twist spins through. The Grey Album may have popularized mashups more than anything that came before it, and kicked off a flood of amateur & professional mashups when technology made it easy for anyone to do it. But it wasn't the first. Not even close. The first mashup was put on wax in 1967 by Harry Nilsson using – you guessed it – Beatles music. More than 35 years before Danger Mouse used Beatles music for his trend setting mashup, Nilsson used Beatles music to invent the whole idea, when the Beatles themselves were using sampling via spliced tape on songs like “Tomorrow Never Knows” & “Revolution 9”. Pretty frickin' cool. I don't do mashups & haven't used very much pre-recorded material in my works. But mashups have been a huge influence. I like to layer two or more disparate sounds, or shove together two or more kinds of music, to create something new. You can hear that best in the song below, which uses at least three pre-recorded samples as rhythmic/drone bed for the rest of the music, which itself mashes together hip hop, pop, psychedelia & avant-garde: REC – “The Power of Repetition (Everlasting)” (from the album Syncopy for the Weird) Do you remember The Grey Album? Are there any other album or song mashups you've enjoyed? Discuss dammit! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/nick-dematteo/support

BackgroundUnited States healthcare costs the most of any country in the world. Unfortunately, the health of our population and quality of care provided does not support the cost. We offer the worst healthcare value in the entire world (Value = Cost/Quality)! This has to change for the sake of ourselves and our children. The changes needed are simple. But, change is difficult because so many people are making so much money off of our toxic system. This podcast is not meant to provide clinical medical knowledge. It represents the opinions of the author. It is intended to stimulate thought and conversion. Some of the major problems are:1. Lack of Transparency in Pricing2. Insurance for Every Part of Medical Care (It should not be called insurance anymore)3. Businesspeople that Provide no Additional Value4. Regulations that are out of Date, Add Complexity, and Provide No Value5. Poor Communication by Design6. Drugs and Diagnostics that are Obscenely High Priced7. Upside Down Provider Workforce8. Fear and Defensive MedicineAsk yourself everyday as a provider:Would I make such a recommendation to someone in my own family?Would I want myself to be my own doctor? 9. Upside Down Incentives Regarding Wellness and Disease Prevention10. Lack of accessibility of providers when patients need them the most Some of my solutions are:1. Mandate that all healthcare entities make prices fully transparent2. Provide medical insurance products that only cover catastrophic care on the individual and group insurance markets. These must be affordable, like 50$ a month or less for young healthy people.3. Kick most of the businesspeople (suits) out of healthcare. Keep only those individuals who add value.4. Modernize regulations to reduce regulatory burden. 5. Mandate that EMRs communicate with each other using a universal API.6. Start paying the same prices for diagnostics and therapeutics that the rest of the developed world pays.7. Incentivize primary care so that the smartest people enter this field and subsequently practice an extremely broad scope of care.8. Stop worrying about being sued and start doing what is right for patients.9. Incentivize preventative medicine and public health by paying for them10. Develop systems were doctors are available to their patients in times of need. E.g. Direct Primary Care (coming next episode)

56. Back in 2011, I uncovered a secret. Well... a few secrets, actually. First, I learned that the things I believed were so powerful and so deeply ingrained in me that they were directly affecting my life. The things I believed, both true and untrue, both good and bad, they were taking root and affecting my thoughts, emotions and my actions. My entire life was wrapped up in my belief system and that was a problem! It was a problem because I held onto untrue beliefs about who I was and what my future looked like. (All of that changed, don't worry!) The second thing I learned was a simple, powerful technique that led to life change and transformation (of both my beliefs and my life) on a February night in 2012. I'm spilling all the deets in today's podcast episode. Don't miss it, sister friend! This one little thing is going to blow (and renew) your mind... With Great Joy! Katie ————————— Feeling stuck? And I want to win it, price it this way to maximize profit.” - Jason Covitz “My experience with sales teams are 5, 10 percent of sales teams get the value story. My experience is usually, find a champion, find the sales guy who is the value seller and find out a way to call out his achievements. And I call positive peer pressure, 'Hey, look what Bob's doing. Bob just did this. And as a result, he made all this extra money.'” - Jason Covitz “I think about pricing with a capital P, which means it should be doing price setting, it should be deal management, it should be doing the analytics, you know, if you're not doing all those pieces, as a price organization, you're missing your calling at every opportunity to drive impact.” - Jason Covitz “You want to understand win rate and you want to communicate that to sales teams. And you can cut that in multiple different ways. It doesn't have to be an overall win rate. It can be by size segment, geo, salesperson, just to kind of you know, push it a little further.” - Jason Covitz “Where you do interviews and go through the whole nine yards, people make decisions on four things, they make it on price, they make it on sales experience, they make it on operational experience, and they make it on product or solution capabilities. Those are the four, time and time again.” - Jason Covitz “I look at win rate, as kind of one of my true measures of whether my pricing is doing well or not.” - Jason Covitz Resources / People Mentioned: Manage for Profit, Not for Market Share: A Guide to Greater Profits in Highly Contested Markets by Hermann Simon Cardinal Health Connect with Jason Covitz: LinkedIn E: jascovitz@gmail.com Connect with Mark Stiving: Email: mark@impactpricing.com LinkedIn

This week we are starting our NEW SEASON and NEW SERIES called Be Strong. We are bringing you all new guests, all new interviews, and each month we will be diving into a new topic this fall. This month we are focusing on the first phrase of our lunchbox note, which says, “BE STRONG.” We will be interviewing those who have been through hard circumstances and they will teach us their definition of what it means to be strong. Today we are interviewing Sam Collier, sought after speaker, pastor, author, podcaster, who shares his story of how he was abandoned as a baby and later meets his birth mother on the Steve Harvey show of all places. We talk about disappointment, what happens when things don’t work out the way we think they should, how to surrender, and what it means to accept our past, present, and future, no matter the trials we have been through. In Sam’s new book: A Greater Story, all of us are given permission to embrace our stories, and know that just because they may start out hard, it doesn’t mean we can’t embrace all the parts and find freedom in every area of our lives. You will be captivated by Sam’s story, but also his ability to get all of us to make amends with ourselves and realize every one of our stories has a purpose. He helps us find what that purpose may be. I was so inspired by this interview in our BE STRONG series, and I know you will be too. Grab Sam’s book here: A Greater Story Listen to Sam’s Popular Podcast: https://agreaterstory.org/radio/ You can check out the rest of our show notes here:https://www.bestrongstory.com/be-love-podcast And tune in next week for another special guest in our BE STRONG series.
