Med zadnjim festivalom Liffe je Ljubljano obiskala Mirjana Karanović, legendarna igralka jugoslovanskega in srbskega gledališča, filma in televizije in predstavila drugi film, ki ga podpisuje tudi kot režiserka: Mati Mara. V pogovoru s Tino Pogaljen je razmišljala o vlogi žensk v družbi, strahovih, pogumu in neprenehnem raziskovanju. Leta 2016 je filmski svet navdušila z režijskim prvencem Dobra žena. Protagonistka Dobre žene pooseblja naslov filma delno ironično, saj se upre svojemu možu, ki je odgovoren za grozljive zločine med vojno v Bosni in Hercegovini. Podobno deluje naslov filma Mati Mara, ki se začne s pogrebom Marinega edinega sina. Pred ljubljansko premiero je Mirjana Karanović povedala, da se vse življenje otepa tega, da bi njeno življenje postalo rutina – in da si želi, da bi s svojim delom iz rutine potegnila tudi druge ženske svojih let.

Die Präsidentin des Internationalen Komitees vom Roten Kreuz (IKRK) sagt, dass derzeit im Gazastreifen keine angemessene humanitäre Hilfe möglich sei. Mirjana Spoljaric war bis am Dienstagabend im umkämpften Palästinensergebiet. Nach der Ausweitung des israelischen Militäreinsatzes auf den Süden des Gazastreifens wächst angesichts des Leids der Zivilbevölkerung die Kritik am Vorgehen der Armee. Hilfsorganisationen beschreiben die Lage im Gazastreifen als desolat und sprechen von «Horror» und «unverträglichem Leid der Zivilbevölkerung». Das israelische Militär wirft der radikal-islamistischen Hamas vor, Angriffe von Wohngebieten und Spitälern aus zu verüben und Zivilisten als menschliche Schutzschilde zu missbrauchen. Aus dem Gazastreifen seien auch gestern Raketen in Richtung Israel abgefeuert worden. Die Präsidentin des Internationalen Komitees vom Roten Kreuz (IKRK), Mirjana Spoljaric, beklagt, dass derzeit keine angemessene humanitäre Hilfe möglich sei. Das Ausmass des menschlichen Leids sei unerträglich, sagte sie bei einem Besuch in dem umkämpften Palästinensergebiet.
