The Hard Truth - Inside the Football Industry with Darragh MacAnthony
Peterborough United Chairman Darragh MacAnthony and Bradford City supporter Philip Ideson give insight on the "Hard Truths" behind the football industry via this weekly podcast
We're back babyyyy (Mitch from Paid in Full voice). Thank you for being patient. Let's dive back in to everything as we prep for some major moves in the next coming episodes.
Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #445 is an hour of improvised visionary acoustic music featuring the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, acoustic guitar, ukulele, shruti box and Native flute, Robin Rooney on vocals and djimbe, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and Native drums. Today's show begins with the lovely minor key folk of “Golden Rays” a soft reverie of early summer. “They're Coming Off” is a reverent, gospel-inflected piece that celebrates the end of the pandemic and the coming of summer and “Good To Be Home” is a whisper of a piece, evocative and mysterious, praising nature. Mariam plays her droning shruti box and soaring native flute for the raga-like “Lilac Moon”, a gorgeous eastern piece with imaginative piano from Bob. “Lilac Moon” moves through several configurations from Afro-Cuban to jazz and returning to raga. “Inspire Me” find Mariam moving to her gorgeous, silvery-sounding 8-string ukulele to spin a cloudlike, floating piece full of wonder and innocence. The country rock “I Was Wondering” is given an energized showing with fine harmonies from Mariam and Robin and we close today with an uptempo rendition of “Flowers Of Delight” from Mariam's new “Release” album. Learn more about Mariam here: http://www.mariammassaro.com

Today’s podcast episodes will challenge all of us who are entrepreneurs, leaders, CEOs with an important question. Which of the below comes first in your life? Your business Self-care, spiritual life, and mindfulness Your marriage Many entrepreneurs struggle with the default answer of #1 - that business always comes first because there is always something to tend to as leaders that feels ultra-urgent, and there is often some kind of fire that needs to be put out when we are running a growing business. Today's interview is brimming with words of wisdom from Russ Perry, Founder & CEO of Design Pickle, and his wife and podcast co-host, Mika Perry. They share how prioritizing the business negatively affected their relationship and why their marriage was almost over before they managed to save it. Interestingly enough, this realization was a foray into the most profitable, meaningful work of their lives and served as the impetus to Russ scaling his company to eight figures in revenue in a very short period of time. Make sure to follow them on Instagram @mikaperry and @russperry or listen to their podcast here: https://goodtobehomepodcast.com. Are you ready to up level in your business? One of Mika's favorite podcasts to listen to is 3 in 30, a 30-minute show for busy moms with 3 clear cut takeaways (or what Mika calls "knowledge bombs") on parenting struggles and strategies. Mika was a guest on Rachel's show not too long ago, and now we are welcoming her to Good To Be Home! What Mika admires most about this show is Rachel's ability and willingness to go deep on topics that may not be tackled on other shows, like what to do when you don't like playing with your kids, how religion can affect your ideas of what a mom should be or how Rachel is happier as a mom when she is still working. An English teacher turned mom turned podcaster, Rachel now has over 80 episodes of 3 in 30 aiming to help moms "manage the madness and maximize the magic of motherhood." Mika and Rachel discuss 3 of Mika's favorite episodes of 3 in 30, how to bring more positivity into your social media feeds, and how to deal with that inner critic that always seems to be nagging inside. --- SIGN UP for Mika and Rachel's one day workshop "Declutter Your Motherhood" on Saturday, September 21st in Phoenix, Arizona! The event is for moms to connect with other moms while working to declutter on the inside and on the outside. Learn how to declutter your schedule, your expectations as a mom, your limiting beliefs and your physical space - leaving room to do add much more joy to your days. www.mikaperry.com/workshop
Welcome to the first Good To Be Home bonus episode! In these quick segments, we will be digging into some topics that we may have covered in previous episodes and want to go deeper into - or questions from listeners! In this first bonus (and Russ's first solo episode) he picks up the conversation left off in Episode 60, and talks more about his book The Sober Entrepreneur. The book took about a year to write, and if you're interested in the writing process, or are thinking of writing your own book, this episode is for you. You'll hear more about changes he would have made if he could do it all again, his marketing strategies for the book, and how to use Amazon to your advantage.

**Due to some issues during our recording session, parts of episodes #56 & #57 might be hard to hear. Sorry for the inconvenience, and we'll be back to normal soon!** If you've listened to Good To Be Home before, you know how passionate Russ and Mika are about date night - their weekly evenings out as a couple (ie: no kids) to catch up with each other and unwind. But sometimes, despite how determined they are to keep up this practice, schedules just get too crazy and life gets in the way. So what happens between those date nights? Or in the weeks they just can't find a free night together? In this episode, Russ and Mika run through some practical tips on how they stay connected, like working out together or going to church, as well as jump into some larger concepts like open communication about scheduling and laughing about parenting together.
Today’s episode marks 365 days of Good To Be Home! Russ & Mika look back at 51 episodes, pick their favorites and give us a behind the scenes look at how the podcast is made. They'll talk about how making the show has affected their relationship, what it's like to have a creative project to work on as a couple and goals for year 2! This episode also features Good To Be Home's first ever giveaway! Stay tuned to the end of the show to hear details on how to enter.

They say love is patient; love is kind. But the truth is, sometimes it's not EASY for love to be either of those things, especially when you are facing a devastating betrayal. "Betrayal" can be discovering a spouse's affair or addiction, learning that he/she has not been honest in their business dealings and has put the family's well-being in jeopardy, and many other situations. You are faced with shattering grief, and often don't know where to turn for support because the trial is so personal and involves someone else. It can feel so isolating. Mika Perry—a mother, blogger, and professional organizer—has been there. In 2012 she discovered that her husband, Russ, was having an affair. Over the years since, she and Russ have worked toward healing and now openly share their story to help those suffering in silence. Today on the show, Mika shares her experience of what life after betrayal looked like for her and how it ultimately led to a life of truth, abundance, faith, and purpose. This is an incredibly personal and tender topic, and whether or not you choose to stay married after a betrayal, this episode will bring you hope. Please pass the episode along to someone who might need to know they are not alone.
