Investigating for the hidden truth, putting the puzzle pieces together, building a strong case, leading with objectivity … you might be thinking of the responsibility of business leaders. But today, we're exploring these same familiar elements from the perspective of a field where this holds greater weight. We're speaking about investigations & interrogations with private investigator and retired LAPD detective, Greg Kading. After 25 years working homicide in Los Angeles, Greg hasn't taken off his detective hat, even after retiring. Instead turning to the PI world and storytelling, speaking about and writing of the cases he's worked (and solved). Today, Greg is well known for writing Murder Rap, a recount of the cold case he and his task force took on to solve the Biggie Smalls case. A three year investigation that ultimately led to the discovery of Biggie and Tupac's murders. It's a case that's thrust Greg into the spotlight, a shift from private case work that he's taken easily, led by the resolution that the truth should be shared, wherever possible. It's also given Greg an opportunity to shine a light on the real life challenges of a detective, past the glamourous portrayal in books, movies and TV. Greg underpins the patience required of a detective: not getting evidence analyzed instantaneously, answers not revealing themselves easily, sometimes needing to start at the beginning and retracing your steps to see what you missed. Police work is naturally full of departmental procedures and red tape, which makes it even more imperative not to rush into short cuts or false conclusions. Maintaining objectivity and removing ego are two critical aspects of doing great police work. Greg stresses that sometimes we become entranced with an idea of what the truth is and lose sight of what the facts are actually telling us. The process for a detective is therefore quite scientific, in forming a hypothesis and working to disprove it. Instead of what most may imagine - working to prove a hunch. “Within reason, all things are possible” - Greg's says this theory of openness is critical driving out bias in the investigative process. But this all takes time. You don't become a detective once you get the badge; you get there through experience, learning, and building your natural instincts. While that feels very familiar for those of us in the business world, who are often placed in role without learned experience, it's also in Greg's world rife with deception, after all, suspects have motive to lie and misdirect. It requires careful study of human psychology to spot the red flags that may point to that deception, and perhaps surprisingly, it also demands empathy. While technology has advanced and will continue to progress the fields of forensics, profiling and surveillance, in his decades-long experience investigating crimes, Greg has been led by human psychology. He says it's important to marry various human insights and technological resources at your disposal in gathering evidence to form a hypothesis. And of course, then working to disprove it, in the search for the one truth.>>>To look outside, Greg goes back into nature and spends time with the people close to him – without a phone or work on the mind. >>>Greg Kading is an American author and former Los Angeles Police Department detective best known for working on a multi law-enforcement task force that investigated the murders of rappers Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls in the mid-2000s.Read Murder Rap: the untold story of the Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations.Listen to
Rapper 50 Cent, a figure known for courting controversy, has delivered perhaps his most explosive revelation yet. In a recent social media post, the influential G-Unit founder pointed an accusatory finger at Sean "Diddy" Combs, insinuating the mogul's role in the assassination of hip-hop legend Tupac "2Pac" Shakur. Taking to Instagram on October 9, 50 Cent's post was not one to be ignored. He shared an evocative photo of Tupac Shakur and Suge Knight from the night of the fatal drive-by shooting in 1996, captioned with words hinting at Diddy's alleged involvement. "Damn so pac got lined by brother love,” he wrote, making a reference to Diddy's R&B alias. Further adding fuel to the fire, 50 Cent also advised Combs to “lawyer up” stating, "LOL Time to Lawyer up, shit might get sticky.” The 2Pac mystery, dating back to September 7, 1996, has been a haunting chapter in hip-hop's storied history. On that fateful night, Shakur was brutally attacked with multiple bullets, leading to his tragic death less than a week later. Suge Knight, who was with Shakur at the time, miraculously survived with a non-fatal wound to the head. Amidst the swirling rumors and theories about 2Pac's death, the involvement of Diddy, the head of Bad Boy Records, has long been a topic of debate, especially given the well-documented tension between Death Row and Bad Boy Records. Although Diddy has been a repeated subject of these speculations, it's important to note that he has never been arrested or formally charged in relation to the crime. Furthermore, Diddy has consistently and forcefully denied any association with Shakur's murder. Fueling this ongoing firestorm are statements made by Duane “Keefe D” Davis during a 2008 police confession. Davis, who was charged with Shakur's long-standing unsolved murder last month, has made some significant admissions. The 60-year-old former South Side Compton Crip purported that he and Diddy once deliberated over a $1 million bounty to eliminate both Shakur and Knight. This alleged discussion supposedly occurred in Greenblatt's Deli, Los Angeles, where Diddy supposedly expressed his desire to “get rid of them dudes.” However, in an unexpected twist, Keefe D later claimed that the proposed $500,000 payment, supposedly from Diddy for carrying out the act, was never delivered to the South Side Compton Crips. Authorities have long believed Shakur's killing was a result of retaliation against Keefe D's nephew, Orlando Anderson, who had a prior altercation with Shakur. Anderson, implicated by Keefe D as the man behind the trigger, lost his life in an unrelated gang altercation in 1998. Lending more credibility to the cloud of speculations around Diddy's rumored involvement, Ma$e, an ex-Bad Boy artist, made cryptic remarks on his sports talk show, "It Is What It Is." While discussing Keefe D's recent arrest, Ma$e made sly references, hinting at Diddy's potential involvement. However, one voice of reason amidst the maelstrom of accusations and speculations is that of Greg Kading, a retired LAPD detective. Having spent significant time investigating Shakur's death, Kading opined that the probability of Diddy facing any charges is marginal. Speaking with Rolling Stone, Kading elucidated the need for irrefutable witnesses who can pinpoint Diddy's alleged solicitation or payment, a challenge that seems far-fetched. The retired detective also emphasized his belief that Diddy isn't a killer, stating, "Puffy's not built like Suge Knight, and I don't think Puffy was truly intentionally trying to get either 2Pac or Suge killed.” With 50 Cent's bold accusations, the tragic saga of Tupac Shakur's untimely death has once again been thrust into the limelight. Only time will tell if these renewed conversations and speculations will finally lead to the unmasking of the truth behind one of hip-hop's most enduring mysteries. Former police investigator, Greg Kading says the rapper, Tupac Shakur's killer talked himself to jail. Kading was reacting to the arrest of Duane "Keefe D" Davis, the man charged with Shakur's murder nearly three decades after the incident. The hip-hop legend was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in 1996. Davis, a former L.A Crips gang leader was indicted by a grand jury in Nevada last week for his involvement in the case. For more on this, Elvis Presslin spoke to Greg Kading, a retired Los Angeles police detective who spent years investigating the killing of rappers Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls

The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Greg Kading - Racist Suspect [www.murderrap.com]. Kading is a retired Los Angeles Police Department detective with 25 years of law enforcement experience. He retired in 2010 to write Murder Rap: The Untold Story of the Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations. Kading invested several years leading an inter-agency task force studying the unsolved murders of two iconic black entertainers. Gus discovered this book while strolling the library. The text lacks footnotes, has no index, and seems to gloss over the long record of White Supremacist attacks against Shakur and his family. Given Christopher Dorner's recent allegations of LAPD Racism and corruption, we're eager to hear more details from a former member of "LA's finest". Kading seems to suggest that powerful Whites are not to blame for the death of Christopher Wallace/Notorious BIG. Former LAPD employee Kading suspects that no count Sean "P. Diddy" Combs orchestrated the killing of his own recording artist, Biggie Smalls. In a dramatic development that has rekindled public interest and elicited waves of reaction, one of the last living witnesses connected to the fatal 1996 drive-by shooting of the iconic rapper Tupac Shakur has been charged with murder using a deadly weapon. This major revelation serves as a pinnacle moment in the 27-year-long investigation, which has alternated between intense scrutiny and stagnation. Tupac Shakur, an emblematic figure in hip-hop, met a tragic end at 25. Known not just for his magnetic musical prowess but also his profound impact on the industry and culture, Shakur's death has remained a focal point of intrigue and speculation. He was cruising in a BMW alongside Death Row Records' founder, Marion “Suge” Knight, amid a convoy of roughly 10 cars. But destiny had a different plan. At a stoplight, a white Cadillac seamlessly aligned with their vehicle and opened fire, fatally injuring Shakur, who passed away a week later. While this case's twists and turns have been numerous, Duane “Keffe D” Davis stands at the heart of the recent revelation. A Nevada grand jury officially indicted Davis, marking a turning point that prosecutors believe could finally shed light on the dark mysteries surrounding that fateful night. Chief Deputy District Attorney Marc DiGiacomo, in an announcement, characterized Davis as the "on-ground, on-site commander" who orchestrated the hit on Shakur. Davis, aged 60, found himself under the custody of authorities after being arrested during a morning walk near his residence. This wasn't the first time Davis's name surfaced in relation to the case. He openly acknowledged being in the Cadillac on the night Shakur was shot in various interviews and his 2019 memoir titled “Compton Street Legend.” The memoir even goes further: Davis, from his front passenger seat vantage, slipped the weapon used to the backseat, implying the shots that killed Shakur emanated from there. His recollections from that night have placed his nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, in the crosshairs, naming him as a backseat passenger and hinting at his involvement. Adding layers to this narrative is Anderson's known rivalry with Shakur. The two had a public scuffle in a casino mere hours before the drive-by incident. According to DiGiacomo, in an act of retribution for his nephew, Davis concocted the plot against Knight and Shakur. However, any hope of direct confrontation or clarification from Anderson dimmed when he passed away two years after the incident, having denied any hand in Shakur's murder. Davis's memoir, however, has provided more than just a recounting of events. It unveiled a clandestine 2010 meeting with federal and local authorities, where he broke his decade-long silence. Facing the daunting prospect of life imprisonment on drug charges, Davis sought a potential plea, hinting at revealing the truth not only about Shakur's killing but also the subsequent death of the Notorious B.I.G., another legendary rapper embroiled in the East Coast-West Coast feud that raged in the 90s. Such accounts from Davis, especially in his memoir, have undeniably reignited the case. Retired Los Angeles police detective Greg Kading, who dedicated years to investigating Shakur's death and even authored a book on it, shared his perspective on this significant development: “It's those events that have given Las Vegas the ammunition and the leverage to move forward,” he commented. “Prior to Keffe D's public declarations, the cases were unprosecutable as they stood.” A recent raid in mid-July on a residence in the Las Vegas suburb of Henderson linked to Davis further propelled the investigation. Law enforcement sought materials "concerning the murder of Tupac Shakur," and their efforts were rewarded with multiple computers, a cellphone, hard drives, a Vibe magazine featuring Shakur, several .40-caliber bullets, and a copy of Davis's memoir. The community has been clamoring for answers, yearning for closure. This incident not only snuffed out the life of an iconic artist but also became emblematic of a turbulent era in hip-hop. The latest developments offer a glimmer of hope. With Davis currently denied bail and awaiting the next legal steps, one can only hope that the truths, long buried, will finally come to light. For over 25 years, the details of the deaths of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G (Biggie Smalls) have been shrouded in mystery. They're still considered cold cases to this day. Were their deaths a result of the east coast/west coast rivalry? Was Tupac murdered by his own friend? This episode explores the evidence compiled by retired LAPD detective Greg Kading. *For an extra good time, take a shot or a bong rip every time Didi messes up a word, like saying "raptor" instead of "rapper". * * * * *Didi West is not a journalist or mental health professional, she is simply an entertainer and podcaster who enjoys researching true crime, dissecting conspiracy theories, and sharing stories and unknown facts about people in the limelight. In This Episode of the Gospel of Malcolm X Podcast we discuss whether the Nation of Islam played a major role in the assassination of The Notorious B.I.G also known as Biggie Smalls. We examine pages of FBI documents regarding biggies murder, the LAPD coverup and Nation of Islam involvement. Unfortunately, I only got to read a small amount of the FBI documentation that I prepared for a show. There is a lot more FBI documentation in which the LAPD and the Nation of Islam is referenced that I did not get to read because of the time. Additionally, we listen to interviews from FBI Special Agent Phil Carson, Reggie Wright Junior and others. This episode includes testimony from Gene Deal and the former LAPD detective Greg Kadings . Rusell Poole's theory is also heavily discussed in this episode and we compare it to the theory of Greg Kading in order to determine which theory holds more weight . Greg Kading was brought in in order to clear the LAPD of any wrong doing in the murder of the Notorious B.I.GOne of the most fascinating aspects of this Episode is the Testimony from a former Nation of Islam member by the name Clayton Hill , Hill admitted that he was involved in the murder of the Notorious B.I.G, acting as an accessory to the murder after the fact. Clayton testified to his knowledge of the crime to the FBI and it is believed that this information may have helped the case in some way according to the FBI however the FBI did eventually close its case citing a lack of evidence. As you will see in the FBI documents the LAPD corruption is constantly mentioned or suggested and the involvement of Muslim(s) is also referenced. To this day, the murder of Notorious B.I.G (real name Christopher Wallace) also known as Biggie Smalls, and 2Pac (real name Tupac Shakur) have been unsolved. Hip Hop has been synonymous with these two greats, and as years go on, their musical influence has made its way into art, poetry, sports and everyday culture. UNSOLVED: THE MURDERS OF TUPAC AND THE NOTORIOUS B.I.G. is a 10-episode, scripted true crime limited series that chronicles the dual police investigations of Detective Greg Kading (Josh Duhamel) and Detective Russell Poole (Jimmi Simpson) into the controversial murders of two of the rap industry's most legendary players, Tupac Shakur (Marcc Rose) and Christopher Wallace, AKA The Notorious B.I.G. (Wavyy Jonez). The series goes beyond the headlines to explore the complicated friendship between these two icons, delving into a culture that both defined them and was forever changed in the wake of their untimely deaths. In seeking the truth behind the conspiracies, the one question that begs to be answered is: how can a case this famous still be unsolved? Emmy® winner Anthony Hemingway (“The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”) directs and executive produces along with Mark Taylor through their Hemingway | Taylor production company. Kyle Long (SUITS) wrote the pilot and also executive produces. Greg Kading, a former LAPD Detective from the 2006 investigation into the murders, and author of the book Murder Rap, also serves as co-executive producer. The limited series is from Universal Cable Productions.
Retired LAPD detective Greg Kading takes us deep into the infamous unsolved murder cases of Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G. Kading led a task force created by the LAPD Read More ...
My partner in crime, my ride or die, for this one is Greg Kading, a retired Los Angeles Police detective who spent a couple years heading up a task force charged with investigating the murder of Christopher Wallace aka rapper Biggie Smalls. That case eventually crossed paths with the unsolved murder of Tupac Shakur, and, according to Greg, both these cases have been cracked, but, for reasons he’ll outline for us, Greg had to self-publish the findings of the task force investigation in his 2011 book “Murder Rap: The Untold Story of the Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations”. The book has since been made into a documentary of the same name and is now being adapted as a television series for the USA network. This story has a lot of moving parts, a lot of names and dates, and I only had an hour with Greg, so I did my best to streamline the major players and events. There’s a lot of conspiracy theories surrounding these stories, and I did ask Greg about one of them that I’m gonna dig more into on my own after our conversation. But for now, let’s bump and grind to this slow jam and cast this pod off onto the streets of LA, from Oakland to Sacktown, the Bay Area and back down, because Occulture is where we’re puttin’ this mack down. Enjoy. RESOURCES “Murder Rap” by Greg Kading “Murder Rap” documentary Tupac’s FBI file SUPPORT https://www.occulturepodcast.com/support Podcasting costs money. For anyone with even a slight interest in the Hip Hop music of the 1990s, this episode is for you. Guest Greg Kading, an LAPD detective who headed the Biggie Smalls murder investigation, wrote Murder Rap, a book revealing his findings that generated some controversy upon its release. Kading also produced a documentary based on the book called "Murder Rap: The Untold Story of the Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations." A film that makes a case that both Tupac Shakur (2pac) and Christopher Wallace (The Notorious B.I.G. or Biggie Smalls) were killed because of an ongoing East Coast & West Coast street gangs/record label rivalry between Death Row and Bad Boy Records. Tune in to hear the untold story of the case of the rivalry that lead to the murders of 2pac and Biggie, and what lead the investigations that lasted over a decade to try and reveal the killers following their deaths.

Tonight on "It's Real Talk Radio" we have 2 current, interesting and controversial topics. Yup, we're sticking to current events tonight! On the first half of our show, we'll be discussing the breaking news of Ciara suing her ex-boyfriend and child's father, Future who is a current rapper. Future has been known for being vocal about his issues with Ciara on social media and in his music while Ciara has played more of the "Kill em with silence and Child Support role." We just recently did a show on Child Support so this topic will lead to us revisiting some of the things we talked about in that show. We're looking very forward to getting on air and giving our 2 cents on this topic. On the second half of our show, we'll be discussing the accusations of Diddy or Puff (whichever you prefer) paid to have Rap Legend Tupac Shakur assassinated. Former L.A.P.D. Detective Greg Kading states that in his new documentary "Murder Rap", he'll be providing detailed proof of what he believes took place that ultimately lead to the murder of Tupac including interviews with key witnesses. Greg Kading was the lead investigator for the Biggie murder case which like the Tupac murder case was left unsolved but most, including Greg himself, feel like both murders are related. What our question is for our listeners is: Do you think Diddy truly may have been the man who contracted the murder of Tupac and if so, what would he have had to gain? Well tonight we'll be sharing our opinions on this controversial topic, so don't miss out! Callers are welcome. 347-838-9540. Former LAPD officer & author of Murder Rap, Greg Kading, reveals what really happened to Tupac Shakur & Biggie Smalls
An Interview with Greg Kading. Interviewed by Jmix.
