The Ghosts of Harrenhal: A Song of Ice and Fire Podcast (ASOIAF)
Sam and the remnants of the Great Ranging are high-tailing it back to the wall. They've been decimated by the Others and wights. Sam eventually falls behind, but with a dragonglass dagger he manages to kill a White Walker. Mackelly and Simon walk way less than a mile in his shoes.Chapter Review:Sam Tarly is sobbing with tiredness, pain, and cold. The reader, with annoyance at Sam's bleating. But he has had it rough. He was rudely awaken by three blasts of the Night's Watch horn. Said a cheery hello to his incontinent would-be assassin Chett. Failed in his mission to release ravens with the increasingly dire news of how the battle progressed between the Great Ranging and the army of Others that overwhelmed them. And finally fled on horseback. That didn't last. Lord Commander Mormont gathered the remnants together, enforced a circle of torch bearers to keep pursuit by the undead at bay, and made the able-bodied dismount in favor of the injured and supplies. Finally, he points them in the direction of the Wall.Sam collapses. He can go no further. Grenn cannot move him, but Small Paul carries him for a while - on the promise of a talking raven. The trio fall outside the ring of torches and a White Walker upon an undead horse attacks them. Paul succumbs but his weight pulls the sword from the Other's grip. Sam gropes for a weapon and finds the dragonglass dagger. He thrusts it at the assailant who incredibly melts into nothing at its touch.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Samwell Tarly - Brother of the Night's Watch, friend to Jon Snow. In this episode, Kim Andryc, Lora Solomon, and D'vorah Grenn discuss: Knowing and acknowledging your full story. Collaborating, not competing, with other women. Having courageous conversations. Moving past caring about what others think of you. Key Takeaways: We are both Lilith and Eve. There is good and bad in all of us and we get to acknowledge all parts of ourselves. Be willing to do critical thinking, even when it hurts. Acknowledge our own faults so that we can move forward, even if it's painful, uncomfortable, unpopular, or simply inconvenient. You can model what feels authentic to you, even (and especially) if it is different from what you were raised with. Jason Grenn is the executive director of Alaskans for Better Elections, an organization that lobbied for Ranked Choice Voting in Alaska and, now that we have it, is working to educate the electorate about it. After years as a registered Republican, he changed his registration to Independent just prior to running for the Alaska House of Representatives where he served from 2016-2018 representing the Sand Lake area of Anchorage. We discuss how his time in the House Majority Coalition and his move away from the Republican party informed his passion for Ranked Choice Voting (RCV).

Throughout history women have been misrepresented as villains and monsters: witches, demons, succubus, and beyond. And this misrepresentation of our bodies and minds as evil is no accident! Rather, the vilification of women is a practical tool of patriarchal systems which remains painfully relevant today. After all, if we cast women as monsters, that must make the men controlling them heroes—and who would want to listen to the words of a she-demon? Who would want to vote for one? The damage caused by this vilification is long lasting, so in order to help us unpack some of its history and present-day impact two remarkable women joined us for this episode — Dr. D'Vorah Grenn and Lucy Allebest. Lucy Allebest (she/her) studies History at the University of St Andrews. She enjoys dancing, organizing, wearing green, and sleeping at any time of day or night. Her greatest joy is hugging her parents and her greatest fear is the Pixar lamp. She hopes to one day do something interesting enough to write a bio longer than sixty words. D'vorah J. Grenn (she/her) Ph.D. and Kohenet, is Founding Director, The Lilith Institute (1997). She co-directed the former Women's Spirituality MA Program at Institute of Transpersonal Psychology/Sofia University, and founded Mishkan Shekhinah, a movable sanctuary honoring the Sacred Feminine in all traditions. D'vorah leads the Institute's Lilith's Fire Circle, does a https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYYnhC2YC6xclEp_wVGm2Xg (“Tending Lilith's Fire”) broadcast/podcast with Kohenet Annie Matan and also serves as a spiritual mentor and guide.
To be with D'vorah Grenn is to sit by the fire with the wise woman, and to deeply connect to and reveal the suppressed herstory of the sacred feminine. As a teacher and a scholar, she is a wealth of introspection, warmth and storytelling and I love both her brilliant mind, and her loving and playful heart. D'vorah and I travel to ancient and erotic places in this episode and reveal the layers of power contained within the uncensored and creative feminine life force to discuss what's possible as more women awaken and step into our power. In addition to being a disciple of truth and divinity, D'vorah is also a lover of laughter and sisterhood, so I know you'll love this episode and the revelations we share that include: Why Lilith is such an important archetype for women, and why her fire needs tending. Understanding that for thousands of years women have been silenced, erased, marginalized, and our opinions and preferences discounted, denigrated or mocked and why that has to change. D'vorah shares her personal story about her descent into her dark night and recounts her own reclamation and spiritual awakening. Contemporary thinkers have been redefining "sin" and re-visioning the erotic as a sacred life force. These concepts are so important for women to explore and embody. Why women feel deeply nourished by learning more about the sacred feminine, and how it fills an inner void when we reveal hidden stories about the feminine face of the divine. How religions have been part of fracturing our understanding of the divine feminine and suppressing the importance of her presence in our lives. The power of women's circles and being witnessed, received and loved in our true expression by other women in sisterhood. Why Eden is a paradise, and not a prison, and how women can reclaim our power and our voices by leaning into the true mythologies and stories of the feminine, not the stories that were co-opted and shaped to fit a narrative intended to keep women oppressed and unrealized. The more conversations women have about our lives, our ideas, our philosophies, our experiences and our real feelings, the more unified and collaborative we can become and the better our world will be. SKJ (Sakaj) - Grenn Depaman [Kanaval 2021] by Chokarella Media
The Ghosts of Harrenhal: A Song of Ice and Fire Podcast (ASOIAF)
Jon decides his future lies south of the wall. He rides out to join Robb in his fight. He's prevented from his oath-breaking by his friends, who ride after him and drag him back. Jeor Mormont announces that the Night's Watch will march north of the Wall to figure out what's going on, and Jon better jolly-well come along. The boys prepare for winter. Chapter Review: Jon Snow saddles up and, ignoring Sam's pleas, heads south to join his brother Robb Stark. He does have a few doubts about the reception his brother will give him. As Lord of Winterfell, Robb might feel the need to behead Jon for oath-breaking. Grenn, Pyp, Toad, Halder, and Matthar catch up with him and, by being unarmed and unarmored, they shame Jon into returning with them. As he serves Mormont breakfast, he's plotting his next escape. But Mormont reveals that he knows his men, and had set a watch on Jon. He's going nowhere. Mormont uses the dastardly trick of logical argument to convince Jon to stay. Is Jon such a great warrior that he would tip the war in Robb's favor? Has Jon paid any attention to the portents at the Wall, you know, like the dead rising? The realm's real fight is right here, and right here Jon might actually make a difference. The Night's Watch will sortie north of the wall to find Benjen Stark, to gain intel on Mance Rayder (the King Beyond the Wall), and to learn the truth about the Others. Characters/Places/Names/Events: Eddard "Ned" Stark - Former Lord of Winterfell. Executed by King Joffrey Baratheon for treason. Jon Snow - Bastard son of Ned Stark. Recently sworn brother of the Night's Watch. Samwell Tarly - Brother of the Night's Watch. Heavy-set and cowardly. Attendant to Maester Aemon. Friend to Jon Snow. Jeor Mormont - Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. Maester Aemon - 100-year-old maester of the Night's Watch. Now revealed to be Aemon Targaryen. Benjen Stark - First Ranger of the Night's Watch. Missing north of the wall. Younger brother of Eddard Stark. Ser Jaremy Rykker - Acting First Ranger, in Benjen Stark's absence. Mance Rayder - leader of the Wildlings, self-styled King-Beyond-The-Wall. Ghost - Jon Snow's direwolf. Castle Black - Headquarters of the Night's Watch at the Wall. Support the podcast. These chapters are Eddard, Jon, Eddard. Credit to MetroGnome for the theme song, you can download it free and listen here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XA6a7sYKeeAMany thanks to Hed-ush for this illustration of Samwell being menaced by Alliser Thorne. https://www.deviantart.com/hed-ush/art/Game-of-Thrones-Jon-IV-537657509 Even Pyp, Jon, and Grenn in the background are well done even though Jon is much more 15-year-old-book-Jon than heartthrob-HBO-Jon. These chapters are the ones in which RoShawn really is starting to understand the ineptitude of poor Ned in terms of dealing with court intrigue and royal secrets. He wants so badly to be above it all, and views it with such contempt, that the idea his lack of skill in this area could be his undoing doesn't even occur to him. Meanwhile, here is Sam! Hello my friend! Thanks for listening, and we will see you next week with a new episode!

The Ghosts of Harrenhal: A Song of Ice and Fire Podcast (ASOIAF)
Jon befriends a brand new recruit, who is very different from most of the brothers of the Night's Watch. Sam Tarly is a large, soft, admitted coward, and Jon can't understand why he's joined the Black Brothers. When we hear his sad story, we get that he didn't have much of a choice. Chapter Review Jon Snow and the other recruits are training in the armory when in walks a huge boy of 15 dressed in fine clothes. After ridiculing him, Ser Alliser tests the boy's fighting skills, by pitting him against a big strong boy named Halder. The fight ends in seconds with Sam on the ground crying. When Ser Alliser won't let Halder stop beating him, Jon jumps in and defends Sam. It turns into a three-on-three battle that Jon, Pyp, and Grenn win. They learn Sam is the firstborn son of Lord Randyll Tarly, and he tells them he's a coward. Later, Sam tells Jon he didn't have a choice to join the Night's Watch. His father did not care for his soft, gentle nature. He preferred that Sam's younger brother Dickon be his heir. On his 15th nameday, his father told Sam that if he didn't join the Night's Watch, he was going to kill him. Jon then convinces the rest of the boys to go easy on Sam. Only Rast requires a little convincing, which Ghost is more than happy to provide. Characters/Places/Names/Events Jon Snow - Bastard Son of Lord Ned Stark. Recruit to the Night's Watch. Samwell Tarly - New recruit of the Night's Watch. Son of Lord Randyll Tarly. Pyp - Recruit of the Night's Watch. Small and talented at imitations and voices. Grenn - Recruit of the Night's Watch. Big, slow, and not very bright. Ser Alliser Throne - Master-at-arms of the Night's Watch. Mean, bitter, and humorless. Donel Noye - One-armed armorer and smith of the Night's Watch. Randyll Tarly - Sam's father. Lord of Horn Hill. Bannerman to Mace Tyrell of Highgarden. Dickon Tarly - Sam's younger brother. Now heir to Randyll Tyrell.Horn Hill - The seat of House Tarly in the Reach.Heartsbane - The ancestral two-handed Valyrian steel sword of House Tarly.Support the podcast. Brotherhood Without Manners - A Game of Thrones reread Podcast
Brotherhood Without Manners brings you the next chapter in George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones with Jon 4. While training with the other boys in the yard, a new recruit joins them for his first day. This poor lad catches some shit from Alliser Thorne, and has to square up or get beaten. We dive into what made this craven SUCH a coward. We get some Jon dreams going on, wonder what they could mean... As always we induct some lucky character from this chapter to join us here in the heart of the Riverlands at the Brotherhood Without Manners campfire. something to say about the show 54 00:02:39,079 --> 00:02:43,849 funny enough the email was called ramble 55 00:02:41,719 --> 00:02:46,939 random and bumbling thoughts from a fan 56 00:02:43,849 --> 00:02:49,400 hey so you know it's okay that I'm 57 00:02:46,939 --> 00:02:52,790 random and bumbling right now cuz it's 58 00:02:49,400 --> 00:02:55,250 been a long week yo so this is going to 59 00:02:52,790 --> 00:02:57,200 be we want to read out an email for you 60 00:02:55,250 --> 00:02:58,969 know anybody that wants to write in to 61 00:02:57,200 --> 00:03:03,290 us please do we always like to have the 62 00:02:58,969 --> 00:03:05,030 inductees and so we're definitely always 63 00:03:03,290 --> 00:03:08,510 looking for those writings so this 64 00:03:05,030 --> 00:03:10,129 person wrote in just should I read my 65 00:03:08,510 --> 00:03:12,560 reading the whole email here or should I 66 00:03:10,129 --> 00:03:17,000 should I give them just the gist of 67 00:03:12,560 --> 00:03:21,169 things here so first of all big shout 68 00:03:17,000 --> 00:03:23,989 out to GG thank you so much we 69 00:03:21,169 --> 00:03:27,409 appreciate it and so the main thing I 70 00:03:23,989 --> 00:03:30,980 took from the email here is that and I 71 00:03:27,409 --> 00:03:33,079 replied to her but she pointed out that 72 00:03:30,980 --> 00:03:34,459 a few quite a few episodes back I think 73 00:03:33,079 --> 00:03:36,500 at this point but I don't actually 74 00:03:34,459 --> 00:03:40,720 remember exactly what episode it was I 75 00:03:36,500 --> 00:03:46,010 had referred to Arya as a Gryffindor 76 00:03:40,720 --> 00:03:47,720 shame on me I think that she cuz gg you 77 00:03:46,010 --> 00:03:50,239 know definitely said she's sly and 78 00:03:47,720 --> 00:03:52,250 resourceful she's a Slytherin her entire 79 00:03:50,239 --> 00:03:53,989 motivation to be a badass spawns from 80 00:03:52,250 --> 00:03:56,299 vengeful means not because of brave 81 00:03:53,989 --> 00:03:59,090 heroic intentions and so while I think 82 00:03:56,299 --> 00:04:01,790 to an extent that's true but I 83 00:03:59,090 --> 00:04:04,040 definitely feel as though she she 84 00:04:01,790 --> 00:04:07,340 encompasses the Slytherin better yeah 85 00:04:04,040 --> 00:04:10,280 yeah cuz she she does you know she's 86 00:04:07,340 --> 00:04:12,739 very loyal to her her family to her pack 87 00:04:10,280 --> 00:04:16,310 her group which is a Slytherin quality 88 00:04:12,739 --> 00:04:18,680 she's not boastful or prideful about it 89 00:04:16,310 --> 00:04:21,880 which is much more Gryffindor quality so 90 00:04:18,680 --> 00:04:23,990 you're right I stand corrected gg 91 00:04:21,880 --> 00:04:26,750 otherwise there was just some stuff 92 00:04:23,990 --> 00:04:29,770 about that episode from a few weeks ago 93 00:04:26,750 --> 00:04:33,050 sorry took so long for us to respond on 94 00:04:29,770 --> 00:04:35,930 episode but again we we pre record a lot 95 00:04:33,050 --> 00:04:37,430 of stuff so you know what can you do 96 00:04:35,930 --> 00:04:39,349 hopefully you're still listening at this 97 00:04:37,430 --> 00:04:40,610 point but you know we're also looking 98 00:04:39,349 --> 00:04:41,009 forward to those books coming out 99 00:04:40,610 --> 00:04:42,749 another 100 00:04:41,009 --> 00:04:44,939 ten years to answer the questions that 101 00:04:42,749 --> 00:04:49,050 were interested in but again thank you 102 00:04:44,939 --> 00:04:51,719 so much Gigi we appreciate it and hit me 103 00:04:49,050 --> 00:04:54,599 up again I appreciate all those little 104 00:04:51,719 --> 00:04:58,020 fan right back and forth so those are 105 00:04:54,599 --> 00:05:00,599 cool so we are again reading John for 106 00:04:58,020 --> 00:05:02,399 today yeah so if you joined us last week 107 00:05:00,599 --> 00:05:04,589 we were reading that five Ned was 108 00:05:02,399 --> 00:05:07,110 reading nook reading he was meeting 109 00:05:04,589 --> 00:05:09,629 great grand maester pycelle and 110 00:05:07,110 --> 00:05:13,349 discussing the circumstances of John 111 00:05:09,629 --> 00:05:15,719 Aaron's death the illness and visit with 112 00:05:13,349 --> 00:05:18,960 pycelle that John Aaron had you know so 113 00:05:15,719 --> 00:05:21,120 about the book yeah then on his way back 114 00:05:18,960 --> 00:05:25,139 Ned ran into arya doing her best water 115 00:05:21,120 --> 00:05:26,550 dancer impression and then returned to 116 00:05:25,139 --> 00:05:28,680 his solar I was told that little thing I 117 00:05:26,550 --> 00:05:30,360 wanted to meet him so he went and met 118 00:05:28,680 --> 00:05:32,039 little finger and little finger sort of 119 00:05:30,360 --> 00:05:33,300 pointed out that hey there's a spy and 120 00:05:32,039 --> 00:05:34,889 here's the spying you don't really know 121 00:05:33,300 --> 00:05:36,240 what's going on but you should send 122 00:05:34,889 --> 00:05:38,419 someone to talk to 123 00:05:36,240 --> 00:05:41,339 John Aaron Squire sir he with a veil and 124 00:05:38,419 --> 00:05:42,990 kind of get the lowdown there and we 125 00:05:41,339 --> 00:05:44,520 were left with Ned not really trusting 126 00:05:42,990 --> 00:05:46,169 anything around him except little 127 00:05:44,520 --> 00:05:49,039 fingers saying he trusted little finger 128 00:05:46,169 --> 00:05:52,709 fool and so yeah now we pick up with 129 00:05:49,039 --> 00:05:56,249 Jeanette bastard son John at the wall 130 00:05:52,709 --> 00:05:59,309 and John is currently showing Darien how 131 00:05:56,249 --> 00:05:59,639 to deliver a side stroke in the training 132 00:05:59,309 --> 00:06:03,269 yard 133 00:05:59,639 --> 00:06:08,759 Katinka tink yeah and this is when he 134 00:06:03,269 --> 00:06:13,550 notices attention has entered the odd it 135 00:06:08,759 --> 00:06:18,269 was it was a grin who pointed out that 136 00:06:13,550 --> 00:06:21,779 hey John did you see what walked into 137 00:06:18,269 --> 00:06:24,120 the training yard here maybe it was pip 138 00:06:21,779 --> 00:06:26,099 actually it was Darren Oh was there in 139 00:06:24,120 --> 00:06:29,339 here seven gods would you look at this 140 00:06:26,099 --> 00:06:31,769 John his he points out Samwell Tarly as 141 00:06:29,339 --> 00:06:34,289 we don't quite his name yet but John 142 00:06:31,769 --> 00:06:37,139 through the eye slits of his helm John 143 00:06:34,289 --> 00:06:38,519 sees the fattest boy he had ever seen by 144 00:06:37,139 --> 00:06:40,769 the look of him he must have weighed 145 00:06:38,519 --> 00:06:42,899 about twenty stone which for those who 146 00:06:40,769 --> 00:06:45,269 don't know a stone is about fourteen 147 00:06:42,899 --> 00:06:46,769 pounds a so he looks like he's about two 148 00:06:45,269 --> 00:06:49,529 hundred and eighty pounds almost 300 149 00:06:46,769 --> 00:06:52,259 pounds okay which I mean that's a dude I 150 00:06:49,529 --> 00:06:54,430 don't it's pretty unfortunate that in 151 00:06:52,259 --> 00:06:56,950 today's day and age at 280 pounds 152 00:06:54,430 --> 00:06:58,990 while it's big isn't exactly the fattest 153 00:06:56,950 --> 00:07:02,830 person I've ever seen by any stretch of 154 00:06:58,990 --> 00:07:06,130 the matter for his age I'm assuming he's 155 00:07:02,830 --> 00:07:07,390 like 16 or 17 isn't he now is he I think 156 00:07:06,130 --> 00:07:09,220 he was a bit older because it was like 157 00:07:07,390 --> 00:07:10,900 his 50 might be a little over something 158 00:07:09,220 --> 00:07:12,940 yeah I think you're right yeah but it 159 00:07:10,900 --> 00:07:17,260 says the fur collar of his embroidered 160 00:07:12,940 --> 00:07:20,020 surco was lost beneath the gym his face 161 00:07:17,260 --> 00:07:21,940 and he says that they had told me I was 162 00:07:20,020 --> 00:07:23,890 to come here for training and he kind of 163 00:07:21,940 --> 00:07:26,590 just says this I'm out - no in 164 00:07:23,890 --> 00:07:28,810 particular and pip points out that he's 165 00:07:26,590 --> 00:07:31,300 a lordling probably from somewhere near 166 00:07:28,810 --> 00:07:34,060 around her garden yeah pip has the the 167 00:07:31,300 --> 00:07:35,350 uncanny abilities to kind of just pick 168 00:07:34,060 --> 00:07:41,530 up on wherever somebody's actually 169 00:07:35,350 --> 00:07:44,500 traveled with summers there's a striding 170 00:07:41,530 --> 00:07:46,450 huntsman worked in scarlet thread on the 171 00:07:44,500 --> 00:07:48,070 breast of the fat boys Serco which will 172 00:07:46,450 --> 00:07:52,510 get more information on the Tarly 173 00:07:48,070 --> 00:07:55,180 schedule here at the moment so Alliser 174 00:07:52,510 --> 00:07:58,030 thorne looks over at this new recruit 175 00:07:55,180 --> 00:08:00,460 and he comes down hard they've run out 176 00:07:58,030 --> 00:08:02,140 of coaches and thieves down south now 177 00:08:00,460 --> 00:08:05,560 they send them so hey I did want to 178 00:08:02,140 --> 00:08:07,930 point out when pip was talking about 179 00:08:05,560 --> 00:08:09,640 where Sam Wells from he mentions you 180 00:08:07,930 --> 00:08:12,610 know don't sell somewhere near 181 00:08:09,640 --> 00:08:13,990 Highgarden yeah horn Hill it's like just 182 00:08:12,610 --> 00:08:16,600 south of Highgarden 183 00:08:13,990 --> 00:08:19,690 so like pip fucking nailed it was just 184 00:08:16,600 --> 00:08:22,270 sore like right fucking there on the on 185 00:08:19,690 --> 00:08:24,580 the DA practically so yes sir Alice is 186 00:08:22,270 --> 00:08:27,010 not too pleased seeing this this fat boy 187 00:08:24,580 --> 00:08:28,930 that he now has to train and John says 188 00:08:27,010 --> 00:08:32,200 that the or thinks that the new recruit 189 00:08:28,930 --> 00:08:36,610 had brought his own armor sword and this 190 00:08:32,200 --> 00:08:39,160 is fucked yo let him use his own armor 191 00:08:36,610 --> 00:08:41,470 cuz it's not black fuckin diet black 192 00:08:39,160 --> 00:08:43,840 paint it black like you're really gonna 193 00:08:41,470 --> 00:08:46,150 force him to squeeze his friggin sausage 194 00:08:43,840 --> 00:08:49,300 fingers into these pieces not welded 195 00:08:46,150 --> 00:08:51,730 together I actually disagree with you 196 00:08:49,300 --> 00:08:54,220 here like it's got his sigil and shit on 197 00:08:51,730 --> 00:08:56,650 it rip them off rip them off of like 198 00:08:54,220 --> 00:08:58,900 enameled armor yeah like chuck I mean 199 00:08:56,650 --> 00:09:00,700 give the steel that Donald no and let 200 00:08:58,900 --> 00:09:02,230 him make something of it I just weld it 201 00:09:00,700 --> 00:09:05,590 down to nothing get rid of the sigils 202 00:09:02,230 --> 00:09:10,390 paint it black you know well like 203 00:09:05,590 --> 00:09:12,130 i I I get it because it sort of reminds 204 00:09:10,390 --> 00:09:14,740 me of way more ROI so you know he showed 205 00:09:12,130 --> 00:09:16,120 up with a bunch of his shits sidled and 206 00:09:14,740 --> 00:09:19,630 everything and but he had the nice 207 00:09:16,120 --> 00:09:22,890 embroidered black stuff - well yeah it 208 00:09:19,630 --> 00:09:26,170 was all black like exam 3 little flashy 209 00:09:22,890 --> 00:09:27,490 anyway sir Alistair tells him to go over 210 00:09:26,170 --> 00:09:30,130 he equipped himself from the armory 211 00:09:27,490 --> 00:09:32,560 which takes half the morning because 212 00:09:30,130 --> 00:09:35,980 Donal know he has to modify breastplates 213 00:09:32,560 --> 00:09:38,230 stretch them out combine them to dress 214 00:09:35,980 --> 00:09:40,360 him he's a big dude so when he's finally 215 00:09:38,230 --> 00:09:42,339 armored Sam ends up looking more like an 216 00:09:40,360 --> 00:09:45,550 overcooked sausage about to burst its 217 00:09:42,339 --> 00:09:47,770 skin yeah that's fucked Ram yeah so sir 218 00:09:45,550 --> 00:09:50,950 Alistair tells Halldor to see what sir 219 00:09:47,770 --> 00:09:52,660 piggy can do and the fight lasts less 220 00:09:50,950 --> 00:09:55,600 than a minute before Sam is on the 221 00:09:52,660 --> 00:09:56,680 ground he was shaking I'm surprised it 222 00:09:55,600 --> 00:09:58,510 lasted that long 223 00:09:56,680 --> 00:10:00,940 oh yeah and blood is leaking through the 224 00:09:58,510 --> 00:10:03,040 his shattered helmet through his fingers 225 00:10:00,940 --> 00:10:05,580 as he lays claps on the ground 226 00:10:03,040 --> 00:10:08,110 apparently he took a nice good hearty 227 00:10:05,580 --> 00:10:10,990 fucking sword bash right - how many 228 00:10:08,110 --> 00:10:13,720 things so he's screaming out I yield I 229 00:10:10,990 --> 00:10:16,240 yield no more no but Alistair is like 230 00:10:13,720 --> 00:10:17,920 you'll fuck that hit him harder yeah and 231 00:10:16,240 --> 00:10:19,420 we should get on your feet rats and some 232 00:10:17,920 --> 00:10:21,220 of the other boys are laughing and yes 233 00:10:19,420 --> 00:10:23,770 or Alistair orders him to his feet and 234 00:10:21,220 --> 00:10:25,720 when Sam is still clinging to the ground 235 00:10:23,770 --> 00:10:26,800 Alice adjusters to hold her and tells 236 00:10:25,720 --> 00:10:29,170 him to hit him with the flat of your 237 00:10:26,800 --> 00:10:31,690 blade until he finds his feet and so 238 00:10:29,170 --> 00:10:35,380 Halldor does just a a light little tap 239 00:10:31,690 --> 00:10:36,970 and Thorne tells him that you you 240 00:10:35,380 --> 00:10:39,430 definitely can hit harder than that and 241 00:10:36,970 --> 00:10:42,220 hold her grips his sword with both hands 242 00:10:39,430 --> 00:10:44,380 and laps down on him and this time the 243 00:10:42,220 --> 00:10:46,420 blow splits the leather along his ass 244 00:10:44,380 --> 00:10:48,010 even with just the flat of the blade 245 00:10:46,420 --> 00:10:51,280 that's how hard he ends up hitting them 246 00:10:48,010 --> 00:10:53,380 so Sam is screaming this recruit is 247 00:10:51,280 --> 00:10:57,760 screaming John steps forward but pip 248 00:10:53,380 --> 00:10:59,830 grab stop pulls him back and and so the 249 00:10:57,760 --> 00:11:01,900 fat boy struggles to rise and he slips 250 00:10:59,830 --> 00:11:05,440 on the mud man I was talking mad shit 251 00:11:01,900 --> 00:11:07,600 like god you're a fucking asshole yes 252 00:11:05,440 --> 00:11:09,640 their piggy starting to grasp the notion 253 00:11:07,600 --> 00:11:11,800 again he tells him to hit him yeah so 254 00:11:09,640 --> 00:11:14,530 John this time ignores pip and he 255 00:11:11,800 --> 00:11:17,080 strides forward and he's like yo Halldor 256 00:11:14,530 --> 00:11:19,120 fucking chill man well we really get 257 00:11:17,080 --> 00:11:20,740 here this sort of division in 258 00:11:19,120 --> 00:11:23,860 nice watch because Rast the whole time 259 00:11:20,740 --> 00:11:24,700 is laughing and cut us off from ham and 260 00:11:23,860 --> 00:11:27,190 all this shit 261 00:11:24,700 --> 00:11:29,140 so we've get John side with like Pip and 262 00:11:27,190 --> 00:11:30,610 John who you really aren't enjoying this 263 00:11:29,140 --> 00:11:32,620 and want to stop it then we get Rast 264 00:11:30,610 --> 00:11:34,270 who's just loving it but you're right 265 00:11:32,620 --> 00:11:37,510 yeah john calls out all the rest is 266 00:11:34,270 --> 00:11:39,970 basically fuckin Draco Malfoy you two 267 00:11:37,510 --> 00:11:42,760 goddamn umbrage Alliser thorne there 268 00:11:39,970 --> 00:11:44,620 yeah just this little fan boy who's 269 00:11:42,760 --> 00:11:47,620 wanting to do well I actually hate play 270 00:11:44,620 --> 00:11:49,060 I don't think I think it works on rats 271 00:11:47,620 --> 00:11:50,529 and I don't think that analogy really 272 00:11:49,060 --> 00:11:51,550 works for thought no he's definitely not 273 00:11:50,529 --> 00:11:55,390 no no lion 274 00:11:51,550 --> 00:11:56,830 fuck no rat yeah but yeah Jon Snow calls 275 00:11:55,390 --> 00:11:59,230 how Halldor enough and how there looks 276 00:11:56,830 --> 00:12:02,800 up to thorne as Sookie is the commander 277 00:11:59,230 --> 00:12:04,690 there and Thorin kind of laughs and says 278 00:12:02,800 --> 00:12:05,350 the bastard speaks and the peasants 279 00:12:04,690 --> 00:12:08,140 tremble 280 00:12:05,350 --> 00:12:10,630 I am master-at-arms here Lord snow need 281 00:12:08,140 --> 00:12:13,029 I remind you but Jon ignores him and 282 00:12:10,630 --> 00:12:15,160 just tells holder look at him he yielded 283 00:12:13,029 --> 00:12:18,339 there's no honor in beating a pollen fo 284 00:12:15,160 --> 00:12:22,720 and so John goes and kneels down beside 285 00:12:18,339 --> 00:12:26,920 the boy and sir Alistair is just staring 286 00:12:22,720 --> 00:12:29,380 - all fuckin and of course Alastair are 287 00:12:26,920 --> 00:12:31,300 bastards in love and so he tells him 288 00:12:29,380 --> 00:12:33,370 show me your steel Lord snow so Jon 289 00:12:31,300 --> 00:12:35,320 helps the boy to his feet and draws his 290 00:12:33,370 --> 00:12:37,480 longsword Nate says he was willing to 291 00:12:35,320 --> 00:12:39,010 push their Alistar but only so far and 292 00:12:37,480 --> 00:12:41,320 he feels like he's already pushed 293 00:12:39,010 --> 00:12:43,480 further than you know willing Sorrell 294 00:12:41,320 --> 00:12:45,640 sir then decides that he's going to pit 295 00:12:43,480 --> 00:12:48,430 Jon against the boys cuz they need to go 296 00:12:45,640 --> 00:12:49,510 get sir piggy and they need to get 297 00:12:48,430 --> 00:12:50,350 through Johnny yeah they'll make an 298 00:12:49,510 --> 00:12:52,779 exercise of it 299 00:12:50,350 --> 00:12:56,890 so he tells Rast and Albert to join him 300 00:12:52,779 --> 00:12:58,600 alder yeah and he says yeah John make 301 00:12:56,890 --> 00:13:00,459 Lord piggy squeal just get past the 302 00:12:58,600 --> 00:13:02,560 bastard and John's eye sees these used 303 00:13:00,459 --> 00:13:04,029 to two versus one he's used to two of 304 00:13:02,560 --> 00:13:06,220 the guys coming at him at a time cuz 305 00:13:04,029 --> 00:13:08,350 thorn does that to him all the fucking 306 00:13:06,220 --> 00:13:10,540 time which you know it's kind of 307 00:13:08,350 --> 00:13:15,209 necessary for John technically none of 308 00:13:10,540 --> 00:13:17,980 them really one-on-one 3v1 309 00:13:15,209 --> 00:13:20,650 John is expecting to go to sleep tonight 310 00:13:17,980 --> 00:13:23,529 bloody and bruised and beat yeah so you 311 00:13:20,650 --> 00:13:26,620 tell Sam to stand behind him and the 312 00:13:23,529 --> 00:13:28,900 odds begin to turn a little little pip 313 00:13:26,620 --> 00:13:31,120 stands up behind John to drawn his sword 314 00:13:28,900 --> 00:13:32,340 before John can even say a word I kicked 315 00:13:31,120 --> 00:13:35,700 the table again 316 00:13:32,340 --> 00:13:38,400 and now like every can you not well that 317 00:13:35,700 --> 00:13:40,620 was to table kicks into and John Squad 318 00:13:38,400 --> 00:13:43,290 whose door make a third there's the 319 00:13:40,620 --> 00:13:45,270 table kick and Greg step so what kind of 320 00:13:43,290 --> 00:13:47,820 power is this you wield to me to the 321 00:13:45,270 --> 00:13:50,130 third and the yard goes deathly quiet at 322 00:13:47,820 --> 00:13:51,900 this and Sir Alastair I think he's 323 00:13:50,130 --> 00:13:52,980 actually sort of amuse he they ask them 324 00:13:51,900 --> 00:13:54,779 what are you waiting for 325 00:13:52,980 --> 00:13:56,160 so I love this because this is one of 326 00:13:54,779 --> 00:13:58,620 our first really good little fight 327 00:13:56,160 --> 00:14:00,690 damage scenes and it's kind of badass 328 00:13:58,620 --> 00:14:03,630 so thorn asked that to Rast but it's 329 00:14:00,690 --> 00:14:06,270 John who moves first and halter barely 330 00:14:03,630 --> 00:14:08,160 gets his sword up in time before John is 331 00:14:06,270 --> 00:14:10,620 just driving him back drive and John has 332 00:14:08,160 --> 00:14:12,150 time to think no your foe is what Sir 333 00:14:10,620 --> 00:14:14,310 Roderick had always taught him and he 334 00:14:12,150 --> 00:14:16,560 knew that halter was strong but short on 335 00:14:14,310 --> 00:14:18,720 patience and you could frustrate him and 336 00:14:16,560 --> 00:14:21,180 get him to leave himself over yeah and 337 00:14:18,720 --> 00:14:23,670 so John goes right in Knox hauled it 338 00:14:21,180 --> 00:14:25,320 right on his ass and goes to move and so 339 00:14:23,670 --> 00:14:28,110 this is cool cuz he immediately has the 340 00:14:25,320 --> 00:14:29,820 thought process of you know gren is and 341 00:14:28,110 --> 00:14:31,800 he's kind of holding his own he's good 342 00:14:29,820 --> 00:14:33,990 all pip needs more help yeah and so he 343 00:14:31,800 --> 00:14:38,040 goes and helps pip first yeah against 344 00:14:33,990 --> 00:14:40,470 rats yeah so he slams rest in the helm 345 00:14:38,040 --> 00:14:42,330 yeah the sword and pip is unable to get 346 00:14:40,470 --> 00:14:45,510 him down on the ground and so facing two 347 00:14:42,330 --> 00:14:47,790 swords Albee packs away yielding and sir 348 00:14:45,510 --> 00:14:50,190 Alistair is not pleased with because 349 00:14:47,790 --> 00:14:52,080 especially how fast they yeah we show 350 00:14:50,190 --> 00:14:53,520 doom yeah and so he looks around with 351 00:14:52,080 --> 00:14:56,190 disgust and he calls an end of the 352 00:14:53,520 --> 00:14:58,620 session and saying there's only so much 353 00:14:56,190 --> 00:15:00,210 he can stomach in a day so Halldor rips 354 00:14:58,620 --> 00:15:02,490 off his helmet tells John I thought I 355 00:15:00,210 --> 00:15:05,120 finally had you and so I really like 356 00:15:02,490 --> 00:15:08,010 that once thorn stalks away and like the 357 00:15:05,120 --> 00:15:10,560 he he got this like howl there's not a 358 00:15:08,010 --> 00:15:13,200 bad dude bright thorn he holder was more 359 00:15:10,560 --> 00:15:17,130 excited that like he had put pit up 360 00:15:13,200 --> 00:15:19,430 again like and even John's like for a 361 00:15:17,130 --> 00:15:21,630 second there you did it yeah like it was 362 00:15:19,430 --> 00:15:23,550 he tries to take off his helmet but the 363 00:15:21,630 --> 00:15:25,589 pain in his shoulder from a wound he had 364 00:15:23,550 --> 00:15:27,480 taken from Hall there made it actually 365 00:15:25,589 --> 00:15:30,450 hard to get it off so he crits it he 366 00:15:27,480 --> 00:15:33,529 just kind of gives off and then he hears 367 00:15:30,450 --> 00:15:37,230 let me in these thick fingered hands 368 00:15:33,529 --> 00:15:39,209 John's helmet and it says that blood met 369 00:15:37,230 --> 00:15:41,190 at the fat boy's head where Halldor it's 370 00:15:39,209 --> 00:15:43,740 what his helm and he introduces himself 371 00:15:41,190 --> 00:15:45,610 my name is Samwell Tarly and I am what I 372 00:15:43,740 --> 00:15:48,490 was of horn him 373 00:15:45,610 --> 00:15:50,680 and he says I'm John snow and then 374 00:15:48,490 --> 00:15:52,990 Samson if you want you can call me Sam 375 00:15:50,680 --> 00:15:56,140 and John does the introductions these 376 00:15:52,990 --> 00:15:59,830 two are granite pipe are pip are papaw 377 00:15:56,140 --> 00:16:02,140 Papa people are and Sam says my thanks 378 00:15:59,830 --> 00:16:03,790 to all of you and so gran sort of the 379 00:16:02,140 --> 00:16:05,680 simple one of the group asks why didn't 380 00:16:03,790 --> 00:16:08,170 you get up and fight and this is when 381 00:16:05,680 --> 00:16:10,210 Sam and my admits he looks to the ground 382 00:16:08,170 --> 00:16:13,960 and he says I fear I'm a coward um a 383 00:16:10,210 --> 00:16:16,330 bitch I like to run away from stuff and 384 00:16:13,960 --> 00:16:18,130 they're all stunned by this what sort of 385 00:16:16,330 --> 00:16:20,350 man admits that he's a coward in this 386 00:16:18,130 --> 00:16:22,450 world that's just yeah it's crazy to be 387 00:16:20,350 --> 00:16:24,910 yourself probably out to be like yeah no 388 00:16:22,450 --> 00:16:27,610 you know the worst thing you could 389 00:16:24,910 --> 00:16:32,080 possibly be is you know yellow and 390 00:16:27,610 --> 00:16:33,310 that's me I'm cravin yeah so it says Sam 391 00:16:32,080 --> 00:16:35,800 must have read their thoughts because he 392 00:16:33,310 --> 00:16:37,510 apologizes and he says that I don't mean 393 00:16:35,800 --> 00:16:39,790 to be like I am and he starts heading 394 00:16:37,510 --> 00:16:42,010 toward the armory but John calls to him 395 00:16:39,790 --> 00:16:44,620 tomorrow you'll do better and his eye as 396 00:16:42,010 --> 00:16:47,440 well he says no I won't pick tchard was 397 00:16:44,620 --> 00:16:52,930 like in Alan Rickman's voice as the 398 00:16:47,440 --> 00:17:00,250 robots great well and that's he just 399 00:16:52,930 --> 00:17:01,870 walks away i grin again the simple one 400 00:17:00,250 --> 00:17:03,610 is worried about being seen as a coward 401 00:17:01,870 --> 00:17:05,350 because they associated with him by 402 00:17:03,610 --> 00:17:07,660 association Pepa tells him he's too 403 00:17:05,350 --> 00:17:09,280 stupid and they're arguing and Jon heads 404 00:17:07,660 --> 00:17:11,740 off to the armor he's used to their 405 00:17:09,280 --> 00:17:13,240 bickering he hangs up a sword a nice 406 00:17:11,740 --> 00:17:14,830 tripping off his armor and he thinks 407 00:17:13,240 --> 00:17:16,449 about how life at Castle black follows a 408 00:17:14,830 --> 00:17:19,230 routine mornings are for swordplay 409 00:17:16,449 --> 00:17:21,550 afternoons are for the work new recruits 410 00:17:19,230 --> 00:17:23,410 usually are set to a ton of different 411 00:17:21,550 --> 00:17:24,699 tasks throughout the the castle to see 412 00:17:23,410 --> 00:17:28,200 where their skills so it's kinda how it 413 00:17:24,699 --> 00:17:30,640 was for me in high school back 414 00:17:28,200 --> 00:17:32,290 yeah you get the vocations you get the 415 00:17:30,640 --> 00:17:34,360 different you know shop class and 416 00:17:32,290 --> 00:17:36,370 carpentry class and fucking all those 417 00:17:34,360 --> 00:17:38,650 different things and then you go to each 418 00:17:36,370 --> 00:17:40,630 one for so many days or weeks and then 419 00:17:38,650 --> 00:17:42,820 you pick one at the end or yeah you know 420 00:17:40,630 --> 00:17:45,220 in this case you're given assign to one 421 00:17:42,820 --> 00:17:47,200 and so it says that John saw favorite 422 00:17:45,220 --> 00:17:49,030 thing favorite job to do was hunting 423 00:17:47,200 --> 00:17:51,910 game for the Lord Commander supper with 424 00:17:49,030 --> 00:17:54,160 ghost but for every day he spent hunting 425 00:17:51,910 --> 00:17:56,530 with goes he spent 10 in the armory 426 00:17:54,160 --> 00:17:59,170 helping Donald oi or running mad 427 00:17:56,530 --> 00:18:00,910 suja's or standing at guard or helping a 428 00:17:59,170 --> 00:18:02,950 man with the birds or Bowen Marsh with 429 00:18:00,910 --> 00:18:06,130 counts and inventories so he's getting 430 00:18:02,950 --> 00:18:07,810 this wide span not really of training 431 00:18:06,130 --> 00:18:09,970 but more of just like are you good at 432 00:18:07,810 --> 00:18:12,070 this tree it's basically the what is it 433 00:18:09,970 --> 00:18:13,710 the M casts or whatever testing that 434 00:18:12,070 --> 00:18:16,210 they used to do to that saw 435 00:18:13,710 --> 00:18:16,720 Massachusetts like all right no what is 436 00:18:16,210 --> 00:18:22,780 it 437 00:18:16,720 --> 00:18:24,970 the grand pacer fitness just no because 438 00:18:22,780 --> 00:18:26,980 it would be the SATs and the the fucking 439 00:18:24,970 --> 00:18:30,040 what were those other ones that you 440 00:18:26,980 --> 00:18:32,440 could do yeah now the UH it might be 441 00:18:30,040 --> 00:18:34,000 like a named after the military kind of 442 00:18:32,440 --> 00:18:36,220 testing or some shit but it's I don't 443 00:18:34,000 --> 00:18:39,280 fucking know dude I don't know man it's 444 00:18:36,220 --> 00:18:41,770 it's test and I feel like vocational 445 00:18:39,280 --> 00:18:42,940 classes might have aged us I don't know 446 00:18:41,770 --> 00:18:44,860 if some of our younger listeners would 447 00:18:42,940 --> 00:18:46,380 even know what a vocational class is do 448 00:18:44,860 --> 00:18:48,730 they have those in schools these days 449 00:18:46,380 --> 00:18:51,700 we're gonna change the fucking topic 450 00:18:48,730 --> 00:18:54,070 right we're done so this afternoon 451 00:18:51,700 --> 00:18:56,050 John's job was to scatter 452 00:18:54,070 --> 00:19:00,100 gravel because that's so much more 453 00:18:56,050 --> 00:19:03,010 exciting dropping rocks on contemplate 454 00:19:00,100 --> 00:19:04,960 my aging cell true story I suppose so 455 00:19:03,010 --> 00:19:06,730 John yeah has to scatter gravel over the 456 00:19:04,960 --> 00:19:07,480 tops of footpaths on the wall yeah 457 00:19:06,730 --> 00:19:09,370 you're just kind of thinking about 458 00:19:07,480 --> 00:19:11,290 Tyrion and salmon it's lonely boring 459 00:19:09,370 --> 00:19:12,550 work but John doesn't really mind and 460 00:19:11,290 --> 00:19:13,900 yeah he finds himself sort of 461 00:19:12,550 --> 00:19:16,510 daydreaming and yeah he's thinking of 462 00:19:13,900 --> 00:19:18,730 Samwell Tarly and oddly Tyrion Lannister 463 00:19:16,510 --> 00:19:21,310 and he wonders what Tyrion would make a 464 00:19:18,730 --> 00:19:23,650 Sam and then he thinks of Tyrians quote 465 00:19:21,310 --> 00:19:25,800 most men would rather deny a hard truth 466 00:19:23,650 --> 00:19:29,410 than face it and that's when John 467 00:19:25,800 --> 00:19:31,900 decides that you know it takes a it 468 00:19:29,410 --> 00:19:35,050 takes a queer kind of courage to or 469 00:19:31,900 --> 00:19:36,610 bravery to be admitting to the fact that 470 00:19:35,050 --> 00:19:38,890 you're a coward yeah the world is full 471 00:19:36,610 --> 00:19:40,300 of Cravens who pretend to be heroes and 472 00:19:38,890 --> 00:19:42,640 it takes a queer sort of courage to 473 00:19:40,300 --> 00:19:45,970 admit cowardice as Samwell Tarly had 474 00:19:42,640 --> 00:19:47,680 this and that's it mean I really like 475 00:19:45,970 --> 00:19:49,480 that's a little bit of John's maturity 476 00:19:47,680 --> 00:19:50,920 and I think tyrion helped sort of shine 477 00:19:49,480 --> 00:19:53,620 the light on that a lot when he was at 478 00:19:50,920 --> 00:19:55,510 the wall of like looking at a man for 479 00:19:53,620 --> 00:19:58,300 more of his motives in his reasoning why 480 00:19:55,510 --> 00:20:01,510 would Sam admit this because he is and 481 00:19:58,300 --> 00:20:03,460 John's right there is sort of a bravery 482 00:20:01,510 --> 00:20:05,560 and in knowing that knowing that he's 483 00:20:03,460 --> 00:20:08,110 never gonna lead arranging North in the 484 00:20:05,560 --> 00:20:09,970 wall he likes and we learn it a little 485 00:20:08,110 --> 00:20:12,370 bit more but Sam like song-and-dance 486 00:20:09,970 --> 00:20:15,970 yeah and that's food and I was actually 487 00:20:12,370 --> 00:20:18,549 having an argument online recently there 488 00:20:15,970 --> 00:20:20,409 was somebody was talking about those 489 00:20:18,549 --> 00:20:24,100 always get somewhere yeah I know 490 00:20:20,409 --> 00:20:25,990 randyll Tarly and why it's hey he's a 491 00:20:24,100 --> 00:20:28,179 product of his environment and that's 492 00:20:25,990 --> 00:20:31,480 why he hates Sam for not being masculine 493 00:20:28,179 --> 00:20:33,850 and I started mentioning like you know 494 00:20:31,480 --> 00:20:36,759 fuck randyll Tarly because like who just 495 00:20:33,850 --> 00:20:37,120 because Sam likes to read and sing and 496 00:20:36,759 --> 00:20:39,639 stuff 497 00:20:37,120 --> 00:20:44,259 fucking Rhaegar was one of the most like 498 00:20:39,639 --> 00:20:47,889 looked up to potential he's saying he 499 00:20:44,259 --> 00:20:48,340 read he liked poets me Ned Stark an art 500 00:20:47,889 --> 00:20:50,620 yeah 501 00:20:48,340 --> 00:20:55,120 right doesn't you know shame her into 502 00:20:50,620 --> 00:20:56,279 being a water dancing sword yeah like 503 00:20:55,120 --> 00:20:59,259 [Music] 504 00:20:56,279 --> 00:21:02,470 like Charlie's a dick and that's not to 505 00:20:59,259 --> 00:21:05,620 say that uh that Ned's fucking a perfect 506 00:21:02,470 --> 00:21:07,480 parent vines but there is acceptance of 507 00:21:05,620 --> 00:21:07,870 what your children choose to do in this 508 00:21:07,480 --> 00:21:10,029 way 509 00:21:07,870 --> 00:21:11,529 Sam is more than capable he would we 510 00:21:10,029 --> 00:21:14,169 would have been a way better fucking 511 00:21:11,529 --> 00:21:16,600 heir to horn Hill than randyll Tarly 512 00:21:14,169 --> 00:21:19,000 ever was exactly Sam would have that 513 00:21:16,600 --> 00:21:21,399 place fucking it would be booming I bet 514 00:21:19,000 --> 00:21:23,590 he'd have the combo in the world like 515 00:21:21,399 --> 00:21:25,929 it's the randyll Tarly that are the 516 00:21:23,590 --> 00:21:28,960 issue they're the wrong continue this 517 00:21:25,929 --> 00:21:31,179 cycle of you know WHMIS honesty yeah 518 00:21:28,960 --> 00:21:34,240 women I shouldn't be in power you know 519 00:21:31,179 --> 00:21:36,820 and men need to be the strong burly 520 00:21:34,240 --> 00:21:39,309 warriors oh yeah so it's nice that Jon 521 00:21:36,820 --> 00:21:41,320 recognizes so early that like at least 522 00:21:39,309 --> 00:21:43,659 Sam knows what he's good and he's 523 00:21:41,320 --> 00:21:45,029 accepted what he's bad so it's late 524 00:21:43,659 --> 00:21:48,190 afternoon by the time he's done 525 00:21:45,029 --> 00:21:49,509 scattering his gravel and he's watching 526 00:21:48,190 --> 00:21:51,700 the sunset from the top of the wall 527 00:21:49,509 --> 00:21:53,860 which I imagine it's just a fucking 528 00:21:51,700 --> 00:21:55,629 sight to see man and then he descends 529 00:21:53,860 --> 00:21:57,070 down heading to dinner and it says that 530 00:21:55,629 --> 00:21:59,470 the evening meal is almost finished by 531 00:21:57,070 --> 00:22:01,539 the time Ghost and John arrive to the 532 00:21:59,470 --> 00:22:03,610 eating hall yeah he gives a breakdown on 533 00:22:01,539 --> 00:22:05,049 what's going on his friends chilling on 534 00:22:03,610 --> 00:22:07,480 a bench and pip is telling another story 535 00:22:05,049 --> 00:22:09,429 that yet that night and pip usually has 536 00:22:07,480 --> 00:22:11,019 great stories that everyone laughs at 537 00:22:09,429 --> 00:22:12,159 which again he traveled with mummers so 538 00:22:11,019 --> 00:22:12,970 it makes sense that he's pretty good 539 00:22:12,159 --> 00:22:14,769 storytelling 540 00:22:12,970 --> 00:22:16,269 John doesn't go and join them and it's 541 00:22:14,769 --> 00:22:18,580 in goes to the other end of the bench 542 00:22:16,269 --> 00:22:20,740 where Sam was sitting alone and Sam's 543 00:22:18,580 --> 00:22:22,440 eyes widen as ghosts and him walk up and 544 00:22:20,740 --> 00:22:25,110 he asks if it's a wolf and John 545 00:22:22,440 --> 00:22:28,730 says bitch it's a dialogue get astray 546 00:22:25,110 --> 00:22:31,500 motherfucker and his name is ghost and 547 00:22:28,730 --> 00:22:34,409 he basically just straight up ass Sam 548 00:22:31,500 --> 00:22:37,409 why are you so frightened and Sam shakes 549 00:22:34,409 --> 00:22:40,080 his head to - scared you know talking 550 00:22:37,409 --> 00:22:42,360 and I think John guesses it right here 551 00:22:40,080 --> 00:22:43,679 that it's in this room you know there's 552 00:22:42,360 --> 00:22:46,049 a lot of people that could hear and 553 00:22:43,679 --> 00:22:47,519 laugh and yeah so John success they go 554 00:22:46,049 --> 00:22:49,200 outside and Sam gets a little suspicious 555 00:22:47,519 --> 00:22:52,080 and says why and John says so we can 556 00:22:49,200 --> 00:22:53,970 talk and you know - what there's a wall 557 00:22:52,080 --> 00:22:55,679 out there have you seen it and Sam says 558 00:22:53,970 --> 00:22:57,870 I'm fat I'm not blind 559 00:22:55,679 --> 00:23:00,299 but so he throws his cloak on and they 560 00:22:57,870 --> 00:23:03,360 head outside and they go out and they 561 00:23:00,299 --> 00:23:06,149 they talk about the cold and Sam admits 562 00:23:03,360 --> 00:23:08,460 that he's never seen snow so the real 563 00:23:06,149 --> 00:23:10,049 cool thing is that John had these same 564 00:23:08,460 --> 00:23:12,899 feelings because he really mentions how 565 00:23:10,049 --> 00:23:15,360 he wasn't expecting it to be this cold 566 00:23:12,899 --> 00:23:17,970 yeah and neither did John and John's 567 00:23:15,360 --> 00:23:19,529 used to the cold so like for poor Sam 568 00:23:17,970 --> 00:23:22,230 Tarly it's like going from fucking 569 00:23:19,529 --> 00:23:24,960 Florida to the very top of fucking 570 00:23:22,230 --> 00:23:27,210 Canada like you've got this nice warm 571 00:23:24,960 --> 00:23:30,330 weather all the time the coldest weather 572 00:23:27,210 --> 00:23:32,220 you get is still fairly decent and all 573 00:23:30,330 --> 00:23:34,320 of a sudden there's fucking snow he dad 574 00:23:32,220 --> 00:23:36,480 that's a thing that's real shit I 575 00:23:34,320 --> 00:23:37,379 thought that was in old man stories Horn 576 00:23:36,480 --> 00:23:39,860 Hills old man 577 00:23:37,379 --> 00:23:42,330 she tells stories about Winterfell 578 00:23:39,860 --> 00:23:44,220 currently that's how behind the times 579 00:23:42,330 --> 00:23:52,860 they are with that shit horn Hill is an 580 00:23:44,220 --> 00:23:55,799 anagram for old man educated post anyway 581 00:23:52,860 --> 00:23:57,360 Sam yeah he sort of rehashes this and 582 00:23:55,799 --> 00:23:59,730 how he had never seen snow until about a 583 00:23:57,360 --> 00:24:01,080 month ago so it's all terrifying to him 584 00:23:59,730 --> 00:24:02,580 and then he says that he's worried about 585 00:24:01,080 --> 00:24:04,740 going to the top of the wall he doesn't 586 00:24:02,580 --> 00:24:06,299 much like high places and this ends up 587 00:24:04,740 --> 00:24:08,460 being the last straw for John he asked 588 00:24:06,299 --> 00:24:10,110 who are you afraid of everything why 589 00:24:08,460 --> 00:24:13,740 would a coward want to join the Nights 590 00:24:10,110 --> 00:24:15,629 Watch and Sam sits down and he begins 591 00:24:13,740 --> 00:24:18,509 sobbing and John is kind of just 592 00:24:15,629 --> 00:24:21,659 awkwardly staring at him but it says it 593 00:24:18,509 --> 00:24:23,460 was ghost you know what to do I fucking 594 00:24:21,659 --> 00:24:25,409 love this especially because we you know 595 00:24:23,460 --> 00:24:29,820 is again this is a full spoiler we read 596 00:24:25,409 --> 00:24:31,409 ghost is gonna be with Sam well for a 597 00:24:29,820 --> 00:24:34,649 while now yeah and so they're gonna 598 00:24:31,409 --> 00:24:35,530 build a friendship - and so like I love 599 00:24:34,649 --> 00:24:37,720 that fucking 600 00:24:35,530 --> 00:24:39,880 runs up and just starts licking the 601 00:24:37,720 --> 00:24:44,260 tears off huh and Sam cries out at first 602 00:24:39,880 --> 00:24:45,880 and he freaks out but it says in a 603 00:24:44,260 --> 00:24:48,340 heartbeat his sobs turned to laughter 604 00:24:45,880 --> 00:24:51,040 and then Jon Snow begins laughing with 605 00:24:48,340 --> 00:24:52,750 him and John starts telling them about 606 00:24:51,040 --> 00:24:55,240 how they found the wolves and then soon 607 00:24:52,750 --> 00:24:57,460 enough he's talking of Winterfell and he 608 00:24:55,240 --> 00:24:59,470 says that sometimes I dream about it in 609 00:24:57,460 --> 00:25:03,820 the in these dreams he's walking down a 610 00:24:59,470 --> 00:25:05,650 long empty hall and he's calling he and 611 00:25:03,820 --> 00:25:07,930 something he's calling for everybody but 612 00:25:05,650 --> 00:25:09,280 no one ever answers him and it says he 613 00:25:07,930 --> 00:25:11,350 doesn't know who he's looking for 614 00:25:09,280 --> 00:25:14,620 most nights it's his father some nights 615 00:25:11,350 --> 00:25:16,480 it's Rob or REO or even benjin and the 616 00:25:14,620 --> 00:25:18,430 thought of benjin makes him sad and he 617 00:25:16,480 --> 00:25:22,090 thinks about how know we're still sent 618 00:25:18,430 --> 00:25:23,650 out looking for him and sam asks if you 619 00:25:22,090 --> 00:25:26,830 ever do you ever find anyone in your 620 00:25:23,650 --> 00:25:28,480 dreams did you have a point so it's just 621 00:25:26,830 --> 00:25:29,680 about that I don't know if the this is 622 00:25:28,480 --> 00:25:32,230 further in the quote yet so I was 623 00:25:29,680 --> 00:25:35,910 letting you finish where you were at he 624 00:25:32,230 --> 00:25:39,070 mentions the stables and the and the 625 00:25:35,910 --> 00:25:41,620 stables being full oh yeah yeah yeah 626 00:25:39,070 --> 00:25:43,270 yeah I got one more thing there yeah sam 627 00:25:41,620 --> 00:25:45,010 says yeah do you ever find a new one in 628 00:25:43,270 --> 00:25:46,860 your dreams and John shakes his head and 629 00:25:45,010 --> 00:25:50,560 says that the castle is always empty and 630 00:25:46,860 --> 00:25:53,170 he doesn't know why he's opening up to 631 00:25:50,560 --> 00:25:56,110 Sam about this but god damn it feels 632 00:25:53,170 --> 00:25:57,640 good to tell somebody about this even 633 00:25:56,110 --> 00:25:59,950 though there really isn't anything and 634 00:25:57,640 --> 00:26:02,680 yeah he mentions that the Ravens are 635 00:25:59,950 --> 00:26:05,260 gone and then that he you know the birds 636 00:26:02,680 --> 00:26:09,610 are gone the who gets to the stables and 637 00:26:05,260 --> 00:26:11,740 it's just full of bones and for some 638 00:26:09,610 --> 00:26:13,240 reason when that line came at me that 639 00:26:11,740 --> 00:26:16,780 the first thing that jumped into my mind 640 00:26:13,240 --> 00:26:20,470 and granted it is most likely 100% 641 00:26:16,780 --> 00:26:23,740 completely unrelated but it was there 642 00:26:20,470 --> 00:26:25,480 Mayer six skins yeah and rattle rattle 643 00:26:23,740 --> 00:26:28,240 sure yeah there cuz he's talking about 644 00:26:25,480 --> 00:26:30,790 the birds and the stables and piles of 645 00:26:28,240 --> 00:26:32,560 bones in this it just seemed kind of 646 00:26:30,790 --> 00:26:33,970 like this almost like it could 647 00:26:32,560 --> 00:26:36,190 potentially be this foreshadowing for 648 00:26:33,970 --> 00:26:38,920 some of the other people he might be 649 00:26:36,190 --> 00:26:41,290 meeting yeah yeah but I don't have any 650 00:26:38,920 --> 00:26:43,360 evidence oh yeah I had I just happened 651 00:26:41,290 --> 00:26:45,280 to pop into my head right then so I just 652 00:26:43,360 --> 00:26:47,380 wrote it down and John oh and he says 653 00:26:45,280 --> 00:26:48,340 that that that always scares him when he 654 00:26:47,380 --> 00:26:50,770 sees the stable 655 00:26:48,340 --> 00:26:53,350 bones and then he finds himself at the 656 00:26:50,770 --> 00:26:55,030 the entranceway to the crypts and he 657 00:26:53,350 --> 00:26:57,700 says somehow I know I have to go down 658 00:26:55,030 --> 00:27:01,330 there but I don't want to I'm afraid of 659 00:26:57,700 --> 00:27:03,310 what's waiting for me and so he screams 660 00:27:01,330 --> 00:27:06,010 that he's not a stark and that this 661 00:27:03,310 --> 00:27:08,800 isn't his place but you know said he has 662 00:27:06,010 --> 00:27:11,590 to go anyway and he does he starts down 663 00:27:08,800 --> 00:27:14,380 and he feel he's feeling the walls until 664 00:27:11,590 --> 00:27:16,300 it gets darker and darker until he just 665 00:27:14,380 --> 00:27:18,100 wants to scream and that's when he 666 00:27:16,300 --> 00:27:20,200 always wakes up and that's pretty 667 00:27:18,100 --> 00:27:23,140 terrifying fucking dream yeah man that's 668 00:27:20,200 --> 00:27:27,160 that's creepy as shit cuz I mean it says 669 00:27:23,140 --> 00:27:30,130 again that he's not scared about his his 670 00:27:27,160 --> 00:27:33,040 death it's more the kings of winter down 671 00:27:30,130 --> 00:27:34,950 not you know and so like he doesn't 672 00:27:33,040 --> 00:27:37,960 belong um 673 00:27:34,950 --> 00:27:40,330 fuck man that poor kid really after 674 00:27:37,960 --> 00:27:44,590 being like ostracized by Catelyn Stark 675 00:27:40,330 --> 00:27:46,840 getting like it's it's just fucked yeah 676 00:27:44,590 --> 00:27:49,420 so John asks Sam do you dream of horn 677 00:27:46,840 --> 00:27:51,520 Hill and Sam says no I hated it there 678 00:27:49,420 --> 00:27:53,560 and this is when we get the description 679 00:27:51,520 --> 00:27:56,830 that the tarly's were an old house sworn 680 00:27:53,560 --> 00:27:58,510 to the Tyrells of Highgarden Samwell was 681 00:27:56,830 --> 00:28:02,380 the oldest son of randyll Tarly 682 00:27:58,510 --> 00:28:04,930 and whatever pride Randall had felt at 683 00:28:02,380 --> 00:28:07,840 Sam's birth vanished as soon as he grew 684 00:28:04,930 --> 00:28:10,630 up plump and soft and awkward he liked 685 00:28:07,840 --> 00:28:13,420 music and kittens and books and dance 686 00:28:10,630 --> 00:28:16,840 and he fainted at the sight of blood and 687 00:28:13,420 --> 00:28:19,930 wept at the sight of the place yeah a 688 00:28:16,840 --> 00:28:22,420 dozen master-at-arms tried to turn Sam 689 00:28:19,930 --> 00:28:25,990 into a knight and when that didn't work 690 00:28:22,420 --> 00:28:28,090 it turned to abuse and starvation amen 691 00:28:25,990 --> 00:28:29,980 Randall's fucking a savage cunt and 692 00:28:28,090 --> 00:28:32,440 through it all Sam only grew fatter and 693 00:28:29,980 --> 00:28:36,160 more frightened one time two warlocks 694 00:28:32,440 --> 00:28:38,680 from Qarth came white skin and blue lips 695 00:28:36,160 --> 00:28:41,500 they slaughtered a bowl and made him 696 00:28:38,680 --> 00:28:44,110 bathe in the hot blood and it didn't 697 00:28:41,500 --> 00:28:46,330 make him brave like they promised he got 698 00:28:44,110 --> 00:28:48,520 sick and puked and his father had them 699 00:28:46,330 --> 00:28:52,450 scored yes so it's very cool that we get 700 00:28:48,520 --> 00:28:54,100 to see the warlocks and the what are 701 00:28:52,450 --> 00:28:57,430 these at the nightshade they drink yeah 702 00:28:54,100 --> 00:29:00,250 so early on and in a John chat so I just 703 00:28:57,430 --> 00:29:02,200 thought well speaking of Danny I just 704 00:29:00,250 --> 00:29:03,999 thought of course it didn't 705 00:29:02,200 --> 00:29:08,679 like the dragons weren't born yet 706 00:29:03,999 --> 00:29:10,690 there's no magic sense actually I don't 707 00:29:08,679 --> 00:29:13,139 know why but as soon as like what the 708 00:29:10,690 --> 00:29:16,090 white wires or the others are a 709 00:29:13,139 --> 00:29:20,230 different set of yeah let's be honest 710 00:29:16,090 --> 00:29:22,809 here so he says that finally after three 711 00:29:20,230 --> 00:29:24,909 girls in three years lady Tarly gave 712 00:29:22,809 --> 00:29:27,820 birth to another son and Sam was fucking 713 00:29:24,909 --> 00:29:30,190 forgotten yeah but when it was peaceful 714 00:29:27,820 --> 00:29:32,710 and Sam enjoyed it until his 15th year 715 00:29:30,190 --> 00:29:34,600 right name day but where he awakened to 716 00:29:32,710 --> 00:29:36,210 his horse was saddled and ready and he 717 00:29:34,600 --> 00:29:42,190 was escorted to his father who was 718 00:29:36,210 --> 00:29:43,929 skinning a deer yo so I never made the 719 00:29:42,190 --> 00:29:46,119 connection - this is how they got the 720 00:29:43,929 --> 00:29:50,249 introduction in the television show for 721 00:29:46,119 --> 00:29:52,239 ty winds a little part with Jamie and 722 00:29:50,249 --> 00:29:54,340 God that's cool though that it's 723 00:29:52,239 --> 00:29:57,509 actually randyll Tarly yeah Sam and 724 00:29:54,340 --> 00:29:59,710 that's because that you know in the show 725 00:29:57,509 --> 00:30:01,480 Tywin is skinning the deer when Jaime 726 00:29:59,710 --> 00:30:03,489 Jaime first oh yeah the first time we 727 00:30:01,480 --> 00:30:03,999 meet Tywin I think yes and it's with 728 00:30:03,489 --> 00:30:07,600 Jaime 729 00:30:03,999 --> 00:30:09,580 but with Samwell he's he's disgusted by 730 00:30:07,600 --> 00:30:11,470 the death and yeah there's some stuff of 731 00:30:09,580 --> 00:30:14,169 hunting and the skinning of the day like 732 00:30:11,470 --> 00:30:16,899 that's unbelievably unsettling for him 733 00:30:14,169 --> 00:30:18,850 and so it just paints this way darker 734 00:30:16,899 --> 00:30:20,919 picture of randyll Tarly then and 735 00:30:18,850 --> 00:30:23,649 granted that was very powerful scene in 736 00:30:20,919 --> 00:30:26,739 the show with Tywin doing the skins yeah 737 00:30:23,649 --> 00:30:28,600 stuff but like fucking Martin did it so 738 00:30:26,739 --> 00:30:30,820 much better with randyll Tarly yes it's 739 00:30:28,600 --> 00:30:34,179 like it's just a much more savage way 740 00:30:30,820 --> 00:30:36,879 because Sam's that soft plumped gentle 741 00:30:34,179 --> 00:30:39,159 kid being escorted in the middle of the 742 00:30:36,879 --> 00:30:41,710 fucking morning out to the woods where 743 00:30:39,159 --> 00:30:44,679 this man is skinning an animal in front 744 00:30:41,710 --> 00:30:47,070 of him threatening him saying you can 745 00:30:44,679 --> 00:30:50,049 you can either join the Nights Watch or 746 00:30:47,070 --> 00:30:52,090 you can get fucking killed cuz you're 747 00:30:50,049 --> 00:30:54,669 going on a hunt with us and I will kill 748 00:30:52,090 --> 00:30:56,710 you yeah I will myself your father 749 00:30:54,669 --> 00:30:58,239 fucking killing I'll tell your mother 750 00:30:56,710 --> 00:31:00,669 you were thrown from your saddle to die 751 00:30:58,239 --> 00:31:02,710 she is a kind woman and I have no wish 752 00:31:00,669 --> 00:31:04,539 to cause her pain but nothing would 753 00:31:02,710 --> 00:31:07,419 please me more than to hunt you down 754 00:31:04,539 --> 00:31:10,029 like the pig that you are the choice is 755 00:31:07,419 --> 00:31:11,349 yours the Nights Watch or he holds up 756 00:31:10,029 --> 00:31:12,610 the the dear heart 757 00:31:11,349 --> 00:31:15,399 or this 758 00:31:12,610 --> 00:31:18,640 and he sang that to his son yeah man and 759 00:31:15,399 --> 00:31:20,590 John notes that oddly Sam doesn't cry at 760 00:31:18,640 --> 00:31:23,440 all during the telling of this story I 761 00:31:20,590 --> 00:31:24,909 think that's a sign of how much Sam has 762 00:31:23,440 --> 00:31:26,740 hardened tortoise I think that's some 763 00:31:24,909 --> 00:31:30,130 steely resolve that's gonna really point 764 00:31:26,740 --> 00:31:31,480 to the arc that he's expected to to be 765 00:31:30,130 --> 00:31:33,519 going through for throughout the series 766 00:31:31,480 --> 00:31:35,740 that he's got this you know I dealt with 767 00:31:33,519 --> 00:31:38,019 this savagery from my father for years 768 00:31:35,740 --> 00:31:38,980 and years and years it's the one thing 769 00:31:38,019 --> 00:31:40,029 that doesn't bother me 770 00:31:38,980 --> 00:31:41,830 yeah I mean everyone's got their 771 00:31:40,029 --> 00:31:43,840 shipment like Sam is hardened in a 772 00:31:41,830 --> 00:31:45,700 different way due to the beauty at his 773 00:31:43,840 --> 00:31:47,649 father's hands so John suggests heading 774 00:31:45,700 --> 00:31:50,380 in for some hot cider and some singing 775 00:31:47,649 --> 00:31:52,090 and Sam's face is troubled again and he 776 00:31:50,380 --> 00:31:54,070 asks he's going to make me fight again 777 00:31:52,090 --> 00:31:56,409 tomorrow isn't he and John says yeah he 778 00:31:54,070 --> 00:31:56,649 is and so Sam says now I better get some 779 00:31:56,409 --> 00:31:59,169 sleep 780 00:31:56,649 --> 00:32:01,090 then and he heads off yeah so John 781 00:31:59,169 --> 00:32:04,210 decision yeah John enters the common 782 00:32:01,090 --> 00:32:06,460 room alone but ghost is before Coast and 783 00:32:04,210 --> 00:32:08,830 the brothers in there are discussing Sam 784 00:32:06,460 --> 00:32:10,990 making fun of them but John ends up 785 00:32:08,830 --> 00:32:12,340 snapping at them telling them that this 786 00:32:10,990 --> 00:32:13,929 is how it's gonna be from now on 787 00:32:12,340 --> 00:32:16,210 ain't no one gonna be fuckin with Sam 788 00:32:13,929 --> 00:32:17,769 and it says that it goes it's sort of 789 00:32:16,210 --> 00:32:20,350 like a quick montage yeah it's kind of 790 00:32:17,769 --> 00:32:22,090 persuaded some controlled others shamed 791 00:32:20,350 --> 00:32:23,769 others and made threats when threats 792 00:32:22,090 --> 00:32:25,630 were required yeah I just feel like it's 793 00:32:23,769 --> 00:32:27,190 got that little 80's music montage of 794 00:32:25,630 --> 00:32:28,779 him like grouping around the group of 795 00:32:27,190 --> 00:32:30,610 them and like talking to some and then 796 00:32:28,779 --> 00:32:33,519 like pointing his finger all angrily at 797 00:32:30,610 --> 00:32:35,669 other ones but rest refuses oh yeah by 798 00:32:33,519 --> 00:32:39,639 the end all agreed except her ass so 799 00:32:35,669 --> 00:32:43,299 when the castle is slept this is like 800 00:32:39,639 --> 00:32:49,630 some military boys camp like or may look 801 00:32:43,299 --> 00:32:51,880 like the boy parties pip and John visit 802 00:32:49,630 --> 00:32:54,070 Rath holding him down as ghosts 803 00:32:51,880 --> 00:32:56,679 stands on his chest and nips lightly at 804 00:32:54,070 --> 00:33:00,090 his throat enough to draw blood and John 805 00:32:56,679 --> 00:33:03,460 says we know what do you sleep yo like 806 00:33:00,090 --> 00:33:05,529 and then we get the jump and it says 807 00:33:03,460 --> 00:33:07,570 from that day forward no one would hurt 808 00:33:05,529 --> 00:33:09,220 same well Tarly they would SWAT his 809 00:33:07,570 --> 00:33:11,260 attacks away or give him light-hearted 810 00:33:09,220 --> 00:33:13,630 taps on the shoulder when instructed to 811 00:33:11,260 --> 00:33:15,639 attack in South sir Alistair would rage 812 00:33:13,630 --> 00:33:17,350 it well they would sit there and defend 813 00:33:15,639 --> 00:33:19,179 his blows so that he was training as 814 00:33:17,350 --> 00:33:21,370 well and swinging yeah and you know if 815 00:33:19,179 --> 00:33:23,200 he forced them to hit they would go in 816 00:33:21,370 --> 00:33:25,320 and tap him and if they if he wanted 817 00:33:23,200 --> 00:33:27,059 them to hit harder they just wouldn't 818 00:33:25,320 --> 00:33:28,740 fuck you dude and then a few nights 819 00:33:27,059 --> 00:33:30,990 later he actually joined them at dinner 820 00:33:28,740 --> 00:33:32,519 taking a place beside Halldor I really 821 00:33:30,990 --> 00:33:36,600 like this progression at I'm here 822 00:33:32,519 --> 00:33:38,639 showing the the the the growth and just 823 00:33:36,600 --> 00:33:40,649 the the bond that develops between these 824 00:33:38,639 --> 00:33:42,659 guys yeah at first you know he wouldn't 825 00:33:40,649 --> 00:33:44,610 really talk but in time he was laughing 826 00:33:42,659 --> 00:33:46,950 with and joking and jesting with pip 827 00:33:44,610 --> 00:33:48,690 with the best of them and it says that 828 00:33:46,950 --> 00:33:50,220 Sam was no fool and eventually he 829 00:33:48,690 --> 00:33:52,799 approaches John and says I don't know 830 00:33:50,220 --> 00:33:55,559 what you did but I know you did it 831 00:33:52,799 --> 00:33:57,779 and Sam says I've never had a friend 832 00:33:55,559 --> 00:33:59,429 before and John says we're not friends 833 00:33:57,779 --> 00:34:01,649 we're brothers of the Nights love 834 00:33:59,429 --> 00:34:05,309 brother and this is one of those you 835 00:34:01,649 --> 00:34:07,889 know those cliche fucking just it's like 836 00:34:05,309 --> 00:34:10,409 a chick flick fucking yeah mind we're 837 00:34:07,889 --> 00:34:16,020 not friends and like Sam is all taken 838 00:34:10,409 --> 00:34:18,540 aback so John thinks that he still loves 839 00:34:16,020 --> 00:34:19,800 Rob and bran and Rickon but he isn't one 840 00:34:18,540 --> 00:34:21,780 of them and he was never one of them 841 00:34:19,800 --> 00:34:24,599 thanks to Catelyn Stark thanks to his 842 00:34:21,780 --> 00:34:26,609 name but Castle black is his life now 843 00:34:24,599 --> 00:34:29,040 and his brothers were Sam and pip and 844 00:34:26,609 --> 00:34:32,159 Grenn and the other cast outs in black 845 00:34:29,040 --> 00:34:35,250 and yeah once again he brings up Uncle 846 00:34:32,159 --> 00:34:37,079 Ben and he mentions you know you might 847 00:34:35,250 --> 00:34:40,500 be off enjoying your visit with Peter 848 00:34:37,079 --> 00:34:43,020 Parker but I am here realizing that your 849 00:34:40,500 --> 00:34:46,980 advice and your words to me were true 850 00:34:43,020 --> 00:34:50,220 and I'll never get the chance to my 851 00:34:46,980 --> 00:34:51,810 uncle spoke truly he's fed the ghost and 852 00:34:50,220 --> 00:34:54,869 then he just wonders if he's ever gonna 853 00:34:51,810 --> 00:34:58,380 see his uncle Benjen again that's what I 854 00:34:54,869 --> 00:35:00,060 said you know he's not Uncle Ben yo you 855 00:34:58,380 --> 00:35:02,010 will see Uncle Ben in that book at some 856 00:35:00,060 --> 00:35:04,109 point and that be it that was the end of 857 00:35:02,010 --> 00:35:04,740 John four awesome chapters yeah I really 858 00:35:04,109 --> 00:35:07,530 enjoyed that 859 00:35:04,740 --> 00:35:09,690 Sam's introduction is good no you really 860 00:35:07,530 --> 00:35:13,710 see how soft and vulnerable he is but he 861 00:35:09,690 --> 00:35:16,440 does have a sort of courage and sort of 862 00:35:13,710 --> 00:35:19,020 courage got no duckie yeah this time I 863 00:35:16,440 --> 00:35:21,060 do actually don't look at me like that 864 00:35:19,020 --> 00:35:26,490 like you're surprised I always come 865 00:35:21,060 --> 00:35:29,270 prepared to this yeah yeah yeah I'm good 866 00:35:26,490 --> 00:35:32,790 I'm good I was giving mine to pip 867 00:35:29,270 --> 00:35:35,010 because he's the you know it's expected 868 00:35:32,790 --> 00:35:36,869 of John he's the bastard Lord bastard 869 00:35:35,010 --> 00:35:38,609 lord snow who always steps up and 870 00:35:36,869 --> 00:35:39,160 protects you kn

AOC's Green New Deal has been the only thing on politicians minds, Air Bnb is taking over from the '19 to the '20, and should we keep or sweep subscription services as a whole?

En Joer ass definéiert doduerch, daat déi Kurrel op der mir setzen (d’Erd) eng Kéier rondrem eng aaner Kurrel (d’Sonn) dréint. Aus irgendwelchen mytholgeschen Grenn ass den Datum fir daat ze féiren op genee eng Woch nom Gebuertsdaag vun irgendengem Drogenverreckten geluecht ginn. Och schon deemols wollten d’Leit hier Feierdeeg hunn.
Déi aaner Grenn, wiesou en op eng Heichschoul kann goen, muss ech secher kengem erklären. Fir déi, wou et trotzdem net wessen: op enger Heichschoul sin normalerweis Studenten. An Professoren. An soss nach Leit, déi geheim Geschäftsgespreicher ofhaalen.
