Bloom in Crisis is the embodiment of hope — it is a belief, a practice, a state of being that empowers you to skillfully regulate emotions, build spiritual resilience, enhance self-awareness, unleash the potential of your mind, foster a grateful heart, cultivate joy, nurture positive energy, promote inner peace, grow self-compassion and compassion for others, embrace the present moment, derive wisdom from introspection, transform pain into grace, recognize positive possibilities even in adversity, and actively shape your narrative, ultimately leading to a happy and fulfilled life (with a touch of style!) Knowing deeply how painful and lonely it is to go through incredibly hard times alone, Zip Nguyen has a profound empathy and compassion for people who are going through it. She started blogging when the pandemic started in March 2020 and later on released Bloom in Crisis podcast and YouTube channel, with a mission to give back as much as she can in her lifetime, and create a global community where everyone from different cultures, generations, and backgrounds overcome tough times together, learn, and uplift each other through the power of authentic storytelling, cross-learning, and sharing pragmatic guidance. While the main language of both the website and the podcast is English, Zip also wants to use her platforms to bring Vietnamese voices and conversations to the world while connecting with the Vietnamese community, so there are also content written and episodes spoken in Vietnamese, Zip's native language. Believing that everyone can 'bloom in crisis' and having a deep desire to help others internalize this for themselves, Zip founded Bloom in Crisis to share how she practices it and what she's learned throughout her journey. 🌻 because everyone is a bloomer and we #bloomincrisis together 👉 say hi on IG, FB, YT: @bloomincrisis 🫶 subscribe to support us at no cost: youtube.com/@bloomincrisis 🙏 help us spread the word so more people can also #bloomincrisis 🌐 bloomincrisis.com

It's been a while since I last published a podcast episode on @bloomincrisis. As I realized that time spent editing videos was taking away from my writing and other practices, I decided to shift my focus despite having a long backlog of recordings I've yet to revisit. However, after observing many students struggle with effective networking (most recently while hiring for our internship position), I felt compelled to edit and share this throwback episode that I recorded with students at Fordham University more than a year ago.In this episode, you'll learn:❌ The biggest turn-off when it comes to networking❌ Why you might not have found success in networking yet ✅ How reframing networking in your mind can help you build meaningful relationships ✅ Creative ways to leave a lasting positive impression on potential employers or hiring managers—plus real-life examples! If this resonates with you and you'd like to dive deeper, I'll be back at Fordham this Wednesday, March 5th, for another speaking event. Hope to see you there. Good luck!

"Your quarterlife crisis is your greatest asset."This is what I said to a student when I was asked about my mantra after we wrapped up the meeting. If you have been following my blog since I started it, you'll know that I still haven't changed my mantra until now. Not because I'm fixated on it, but rather, it's because the older I get, the more I find it true and become even more grateful for everything I've been through.I debated with myself many times whether I should share this video or not for lots of reasons—one of them is because we recorded it back in August 2023 when I still thought Bloom in Crisis was a brand or a podcast (I later realized that it's not, but oh well, I didn't know what I didn't know!

You know, being feminine in my mind was associated with being submissive, skilled in the kitchen, or dressing up super girly... and while I think they're great qualities too, I just don't necessarily see myself that way. Needless to say, I always feel surprised yet intrigued when my girlfriends tell me, "You're one of the most feminine women that I've known," or like how this conversation I had with Tyler Rohoblt in DC started because she told me that she wanted to learn more about how to cultivate the "divine femininity" which she saw in me, when this was only the second time that we had met!

I'm grateful to have been able to observe his lifestyle and work ethic from a young age, both of which have profoundly transformed me and shaped who I am today. Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads out there!  Here are the lyrics to my original song, 'Tâm Sự Của Con' (My Confession)[Vietnamese lyrics]Ngày ấy khi còn bé thơ trong lòngBố thương mẹ chiều chẳng lo âu nghĩ suyNgày ấy đi học bố đưa mẹ đèoThấy con thân gầy mẹ chỉ lo con ốm thôiRồi lúc con biết đọc, biết thêm đánh đànBố khoe con với mọi người vui lắmDù những thứ con làm có khôn có dạiTrước sau bố mẹ vẫn tin chờRồi đến một ngày con lớn khôn đi làmThấy con bận rộn mẹ lại lo con ốm thôiRồi con cứ lớn dần, tóc bố thêm bạc màuThêm nếp nhăn cho mẹ vậy mà con xa quá điCàng thấy thương bố mẹ nuôi nấng con nên ngườiXong lúc con nên rồi lại chẳng thấyChỉ mong sao bố mẹ sống vui khoẻ mạnhNhớ con bố mẹ vẫn an lòng  [English translation]Back when I was a little kid,Dad loved, Mom cared, no worry I hid.Back then, Dad walked me to school and Mom came along,Seeing me so skinny, Mom just worried I'd be weak, not strong. When I learned to read, and also play the piano,Dad showed me off to everyone, so proud, full of gusto. No matter if what I did was wise or silly,In the end, my parents always trusted me, really. Then came a day when I grew up, started to work,Seeing me so busy, Mom worried again I'd get sick due to overwork. As I kept growing, Dad's hair started turning gray,More wrinkles marked Mom's face, as I moved further away. The more I saw, the more I loved my parents who made me strong,I don't want to think about that some day, when I'm grown up but could no longer take them along.I just wish my parents live life, happy and healthy,Missing me, they still find peace, and are never weary. Bloom in Crisis is the embodiment of hope — it is a belief, a practice, a state of being that empowers you to skillfully regulate emotions, build spiritual resilience, enhance self-awareness, unleash the potential of your mind, foster a grateful heart, cultivate joy, nurture positive energy, promote inner peace, grow self-compassion and compassion for others, embrace the present moment, derive wisdom from introspection, transform pain into grace, recognize positive possibilities even in adversity, and actively shape your narrative, ultimately leading to a happy and fulfilled life (with a touch of style!)Welp... you're probably not going to remember all of these, and neither am I (!) which is why internalizing the concept of "bloom in crisis" instead of trying to memorize what it means is important. Luckily, we can all do it by practicing consistently. While I'm incredibly grateful for my journey, I know firsthand how painful and lonely it is to go through tough times alone — it urges me to give back and help others as much as I can in my lifetime. Bloom in Crisis has been transforming me and many others for the better, and I would love for you to give it a try!Believing that everyone is a bloomer and we #bloomincrisis together, I founded Bloom in Crisis to share with you how I practice it and what I've learned throughout my journey, which, I hope, will be helpful for you in yours.-Zip xx----------About Zip Nguyen: Zip was born and raised in Vietnam. In many Asian cultures including Vietnam where both Huong and I are originally from, it is often considered a key indicator of success, so peer pressure, family pressure, and social pressure, particularly in relation to academic performance, are almost unavoidable. So, is there any silver lining at all in not being among the top students in the class? And how can we still feel confident if our grades are not something to be proud of? Continue listening if you'd like to find out.----------------------We want to thank you for your incredible support of our launch! We appreciate all the constructive feedback and your heart-warming messages that have motivated us to work even harder so that we can provide more and more helpful content for you! We have talked about self-love in our first episode which will continue to be the main theme of everything that we do at Bloom in Crisis, but moving forward, we want to address your specific questions and needs on our podcast, so please feel free to share with us your thoughts by emailing us at bloomincrisis@gmail.com or reaching out to us directly on our social media accounts. You will be surprised by the impact of sharing your stories, and how you're able to help many other people out there who share the same struggles with you, to hear from you, and to hear from us, because none of us is walking this journey alone. We are here to support each other as a community.
