18 months of coaching my athletes over Zoom came to an end last week and I finally got to see my players again in person! Man ohhh man I needed it. The US/Canada border finally opened (if you were willing to jump a few obstacles) and I flew down to help my athletes prepare for the first event of the 2022 @pgatour season. As many of you who have had to "pivot" their business over the past year and 1/2, I had to find a way to provide the same quality of coaching that I delivered in person without being in person. Zoom coaching comes with some obvious limitations which we were able to overcome through creative cueing, programming and tweaking delivery. I finally got to meet one of my players who I have been training for 9 months over Zoom without actually ever seeing each other face to face. Over those 9 months we increased his clubhead speed from 115 to 120mph. Now, he did all the work, but it shows that good programming and consistent, focussed, work can yield huge results. Jason Dufner was nice enough to share our story in this article from PGA Tour by Cameron Morfit https://www.pgatour.com/news/2021/09/17/jason-dufner-commits-to-gym-to-add-speed--distance-fortinet-championship.html This episode is meant to inspire and encourage you to find ways to adjust your delivery systems to adapt to the ever changing landscape. The world is changing and you need to change with it! Its time for you to look at your business, your systems, your daily routine and find ways to tweak them to maximize your potential. Or you can continue to complain about how the world isn't like it use to be. It will never be the same again and to be honest, you shouldn't pine for it to be. Life is impermanent. Adjust and grow. DreamBIG OverDeliver BeUndeniable. If you need help with rebranding, creating a new service or product, need to adjust your coaching business and are ready to DreamBIG. Episode 43 - Hear me, but you can't see me The livestream got off to a bang, because I forgot to turn the livestreaming on, so there is no video, only audio. GRQOTW 42 - Are you permitted free relief from a dot of paint that is marking a yardage on the fairway? Answer - These are artificial objects, however they are not obstructions. So there is no free relief UNLESS the Committee declares them to be ground under repair - Local Rule F-21. Thank you everyone for the well wishes since hearing that I have left Golf Australia. It was time to move on and find new challenges. As well as not being hamstrung in the Rules of Golf content and projects that I have put out. This includes being able to go out to golf clubs in Australia to run Rules workshops. If you are interested or know of a club that would like a Rules of Golf workshop, please reach out to me. I can even do one online, but certainly everyone learns more in person. Now back to catching up on rulings: Jason Dufner Duffs his Putt This was a PGA Tour archive video of Jason Dufner & Dustin Johnson playing in a four-ball tournament. As Dufner was setting up to putt, his putter slipped off the grass and into the ball, back then theis incurred a penalty of one stroke. But now there would be no penalty under Rule 9.4, because Dufner's ball was on the green. Jon Rahm's Ball Moved Jon Rahm's ball moved on the green at The Open Championship. Unlike Dufner's situation, Rahm's ball was moved by the wind. Now usually you would play the ball as it lies when it has been moved by wind, but under Rule 13.1d, because Rahm had already lifted and replaced his ball. Of course marking it first. He was required to move it back. If he had not lifted and replaced it, he would just play it as it lies. Rory McIlroy at The Open Championship hit his ball next to a massive television. This TV was of course showing the leaderboard and video footage of players out on the course. Because Rory had interference to both his line of play and line of sight from the TV, he was permitted to take free relief. His ball was in the general area, so the relief area had to be in the general area. Not a common Local Rule in club land, but certainly on every PGA Tour, LPGA, and European Tour event there are Temporary Immovable Obstructions. IVORs Two massive IVORs last week. G-9 not D-7 was the correct Local Rule for Bubba being permitted to replace his club. And the Dunes was designed by Tony Cashmore not Tom Doak. GRQOTW43 - In agreement a player and their opponent stop their match due to the weather conditions. They agree to return the next day and start at 8am. Firstly, is this permissible for a player and opponent to agree to suspend their match, AND Secondly, when they come back, do they start from where they left off or from their first hole with the score being square?
Andy & Ben jump behind the mic to discuss the PGA Championship picks and odds! It truly is up for grabs this year, and who knows...maybe Jason Dufner can win it in 2021 (Hint: The guys don't think so). See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Ralph Dunning started Dunning Golf in Hawaii and has turned this apparel company into a household name. They are a small company but have PGA TOUR players like Jason Dufner and Kevin Kisner wearing the product. Remember when Mike Weir won The Masters? He was wearing Dunning! The company also has a great relationship with Troon and Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples, a place near and dear to me. On this episode of The Wednesday Match Play you will meet Chris Frame, brand manager, and learn more about the company, their social media strategy, their connection to Maui Jim and their plans for the 2020 PGA Merchandise Show. Chris also talks about their new alignment stick and the branding possibilities with such a simple product. This was a fun episode and I enjoyed learning more about this brand. Let's jump into it. Or, as my good friend Chuck likes to say, let's tee off.
