Having largely dealt with 1984's Christmas season last year, It Happened One Year had to dig deep to unearth the Xmas episode topic this time around, and what better place to turn than to the cabbage patch itself! Sarah & Joe take a look at the big ABC special that aired December 7th, 1984 - The Cabbage Patch Kids' First Christmas, discuss the casting and bizarro plot, and attempt to track backward into Cabbage Patch lore to figure out what the hell is going on here. Along the way, the visit the oddball Cabbage Patch event center Babyland, chat about the connected books and records of the franchise, give some quick love to the Garbage Pail Kids, and quickly shout out last year's epic scripted episode Jingle Hell.

Joey and Jesse's teamwork might be in question, but Jodie and Andrea are back and better than ever! It's time to tackle the next episode and they're shocked for more reasons than just that word in the title. Puppets and poopoo help define the plot, and Stephanie once again finds herself with a best friend screen partner. Will the newly formed team of songwriters get it together to jumpstart Jesse's new career, or is this career finished before it even starts, Nerdbomber? It's Christmas Eve 1984, and the battle scars from the prior year's Cabbage Patch carnage still sting for employees and customers alike. The utter mayhem of '83 lives in legend at the Viewmont Mall in Scranton, PA, and everyone is anxious to avoid a repeat this holiday season. Surely, it can't get that bloodthirsty, that vicious, that diabolical again, can it? What fresh hell awaits the mall denizens of 1984? Jingle Hell, that's what! It Happened One Year presents its third fully scripted, full cast episode, chronicling the comic carnage that befalls the mall's various toy store staff, mall security guards, local teens, and families trying to get a picture with a very inebriated St. Nick. It Happened One Year presents its third fully scripted, madcap episode, this time written by great friend of the show Lana Cooper and featuring a cast of dozens! The holiday season is upon us, and while we are all excited for family and tasty holiday food, it is also a well-known fact in the Redding Fire Department that there will be a house fire in Redding on at least one - if not all of the major holidays.According to FEMA, roughly 2,300 residential fires were reported annually in the US on Thanksgiving day between 2017 and 2019, making Thanksgiving the most fire-prone day of the year and the second leading cause of home fire deaths. Annually, an average of 128,000 fires in December resulted in 415 deaths across the US. Christmas Eve and Day rank 2nd and 3rd for the most fire-prone day of the year, with twice the daily average of reported fires. The holidays are the time of year when families cook more often, have more guests, light more candles and fires, hang holiday lights, and celebrate with cocktails that can impair judgment and our sense of caution. In this episode, we speak with Erick Mattson, Battalion Chief, and Sarah Roth, Fire Prevention Specialist with the Redding Fire Department, for a few Holiday Horror stories and important safety reminders that will help keep you and your family safe this season.Read the episode transcript here>>Contact the City of Redding Podcast Team Email us at podcast@cityofredding.org Connect with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram Visit the City of Redding website Love the podcast? Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I'm kicking off the new Series, Jesse and Joey Career Duo Journey with Full House S2E5: Jingle Hell, which aired on November 11, 1988. In this episode Jesse and Joey start working together, while D.J. and Stephanie fight because Stephanie breaks some of D.J.'s stuff. I really enjoyed this episode, seeing the beginning Jesse and Joey's work partnership which would eventually lead them to venturing out on their own as independent advertisers and the birth of their company J&J Creative Services. Stephanie has been getting in DJ's craw as of late and she's had enough. She vows to get her back and does so rather creatively by tying Stephanie entire shoe collection together so it's like a train of shoes. Jesse and Joey learn that in order to be successful as partners they have to work together and listen to one other. A partnership can't work if one person is calling the shots and the other is simply a follower and allowed no creative input. And finally the family can say goodbye to changing diapers because Michelle is potty-trained, well goodbye at least until the twins arrive in 3 years. Join me next week when I cover the next episode in the Series, S2E13: Working Mothers, which aired on February 3, 1989. After Jesse and Joey are offered full time jobs at an ad agency, they struggle to decide if they can do the job and still be moms to the girls. Have a great weekend and I hope you enjoy the episode!

On this episode of The Sofa King Podcast, we talk about one of the greatest actors of all time, Christopher Lee. This legend played Dracula and was in little known film series such as James Bond, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars. What's more impressive is that in WWII he became a spy, a Nazi hunter, and a member of the infamous SOE—The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. After he mastered spy craft and acting, he also mastered thrash metal music, becoming the oldest musician to ever break the Billboard Top Twenty with his song “Jingle Hell.” You know his face and his rolls, but you don't know Christopher Lee and his crazy back story. All was not calm and bright for the families of those discussed in this episode. For this Christmas season, we are calling attention to just a few of the many unsolved missing persons cases in the United States that the average person hasn't heard of. You'll struggle to find a headline or in some cases any articles at all that delve into these disappearances. I am joined today by returning guest Sohaib Q to discuss the cases of David Horn Jr, Jeremy Howard, and Mark Linstead Myhre, all of whom disappeared on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. We wrap up the episode by scratching the surface of the tragic Christmas Eve fire that claimed the lives of five children from the Sodder family...or did it?
We’re looking at a sequel 14 years in the making! The Authority takes on Lobo when little Jenny Quantum learns about the events of Lobo’s paramilitary Christmas adventure. It’s weird!
It's here, the final challenge in Gavin's Holiday Gauntlet, and this time he's called in an expert, writer David Lebovitz, creator of Jingle Hell! David has brought to the holiday table the brand new Zoey's Extraordinary Christmas, a new take on the holiday musical! Will Gavin succeed in his quest, or is this the end of our intrepid podcaster? It's Christmas Eve. Chances are, you've heard a lot of beautiful music. If you're looking for more of that, you've come to the wrong place. Welcome to Jingle Hell, where bad songs are born, and good songs come to die. Alecia Lawyer, founder, artistic director, and principal oboist of River Oaks Chamber Orchestra (ROCO) talks about the worst musical offerings of the season, and what makes them so bad. Songs that include entire scales? Check. Songs with completely bizarre lyrics that we sing along with anyway? Check. Wookiees? Yeah. This episode has all of that and oh so much more. Listen if you dare! And, uh, merry Christmas. You're welcome. Music in this episode: “Dominick the Donkey.” Ray Allen, Sam Saltzberg and Wandra Merrell. “I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas.” John Rox. Performed by Gayla Peevey. “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.” Randy Brooks. Performed by Elmo and Patsy. “White Winter Hymnal.” Written and performed by Fleet Foxes. ABOUT CHARMED: Mel and Maggie Vera suffer a shock when their mother dies suddenly, but before they have time to heal from their loss, another surprise shows up on their doorstep in the shape of an older sister -- brilliant geneticist Macy -- whom their mother never told them existed. The emotional stress takes its toll and the girls begin to exhibit impossible new abilities. An explanation comes from an unexpected place: the new chair of the women's studies department. Harry Greenwood reveals that the three are powerful witches, and he is their whitelighter, there to advise and guide them as they battle dark forces. Claire Meyer is casting a side eye at your fake leg and is more than willing to do the same for the likes of Full House. This week we turn out attention to Jingle Hell, in which Joey spends his coke-fueled witching hours constructing puppets just so he can destory any chance Jesse has at a career in advertising. Great job, Joey! You're doing great! Claire was an absolutely fantastic guest and a veritable wellspring of Housewife trivia, so if your ears are ready, we're ready to fill 'em with audio goodness! P.S. Claire may or may not have a thing for Bob Saget. We may never know the truth!
