Ram has unveiled the 2025 Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty pickups, offering exceptional capability, enhanced towing features, and cutting-edge technology. The heavy haulers feature a powerful Cummins 6.7-liter inline-six turbo diesel engine or a 6.4-liter gas-fueled HEMI V-8. The latest-generation Toyota Tundra is a popular full-size pickup. While its 5.7-liter V8 didn't carry over to the new generation, a turbocharged 3.4-liter V6, and a turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 hybrid take its spot. The top-flight hybrid powertrain shoves 479 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque through a 10-speed automatic. This truck also comes with a large touchscreen media system, comfortable seating, tech, and ride quality you'd expect from a full-size sedan.  Carrying the lower-priced load for Lexus, the ES 300h might not be as exciting as the company's LC500, but it fills an important, mid-size role. In 300h trim, this hybrid people mover packs a 2.5-liter I4 under the hood that works with an eCVT to make 215 combined system hp. This hybrid sedan might not hustle from stoplight to stoplight, but it also manages over 44 mpg combined. On this episode of Talking Cars with the Boss, Natalie Neff and Wesley Wren chat about these two vehicles and the evolving passenger car space. The pair breaks down how trucks have changed roles in the marketplace, and how mid-size sedans are losing some ground to crossovers, SUVs, and trucks. This would mean an average tax increase of $225 for a $450,000 home. Superintendent Grant Rivera supports this to sustain current funding levels amid the end of federal COVID-19 aid. Board members generally favor the proposal, emphasizing competitive teacher pay and academic priorities. Public hearings are scheduled before the final vote, addressing community concerns today at the board headquarters in Marietta. STORY 2: ‘They are not forgotten': Daughters Remember ‘Chattanooga Fallen Five' in Canton A ceremony at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton honored the "Chattanooga Fallen Five," including U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Squire Kimpton Paul "Skip" Wells of Marietta, who was killed in a 2015 terrorist attack. Organized by the Daughters of the American Revolution Hightower Trail Chapter, the ceremony commemorated the victims with prayers, eulogies, and a wreath-laying at Wells' headstone. The event coincided with similar ceremonies nationwide for the other victims of the Chattanooga shooting. Wells, a Marine enlisted in 2014, was remembered for his service and contributions to his community, including having a post office and park named in his honor in Cobb County. His family was not present at the ceremony, and efforts continue to reach out to them in remembrance of their son's sacrifice. STORY 3: Delegate Diary:'… the best day ever.' The convention began with breakfast and a speech by Dr. Ralph Reed, emphasizing platform topics and support for President Trump. Delegates, including the narrator who is a whip, boarded a bus with Homeland Security checks en route to the arena. Security at the venue was thorough with canine units and bag checks. Inside, tasks were assigned, and excitement peaked with the announcement of J.D. Vance as the VP pick, met with unanimous approval. The narrator, enjoying the experience, highlighted meeting prominent figures like Newt Gingrich. Call 770.799.6810 for more info.    We'll be right back    Break: DRAKE – INGLES 7 STORY 4: Woman Dead After Multi-Car Collision on State Route 120 A fatal multi-car collision on State Route 120 in Marietta claimed the life of Charlene Lott, 43, of Columbus. Lott lost control of her 2020 Honda Accord, crossing into oncoming traffic where she collided with Sean Acree's 2021 Chevrolet Silverado as he was turning left. Acree's vehicle rolled multiple times, ending up on a median. Lott's Honda then struck Linda Smith's 2023 Lexus ES in the westbound lane. Smith and a juvenile passenger were unharmed, while Acree sustained minor injuries treated at the scene. Lott was transported to Kennestone Hospital but succumbed to her injuries. The incident is under investigation; witnesses are urged to contact Cobb Police. STORY 5: 16-year-old Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run A tragic incident on Saturday night claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy on State Route 360 in Cobb County. The teen was walking in the right lane at Cunningham Road when he was struck by a red Hyundai Santa Fe around 11 p.m. The driver fled the scene after the collision. The victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Cobb Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward by contacting them at 770-499-3987. We'll be back in a moment    Break: MARIETTA THEATER SEVEN GUITARS STORY 6: Marietta Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Struck by Car A Marietta man, William Cahill, 32, was seriously injured when he was struck by a maroon 2005 Toyota RAV4 while crossing Woodlawn Drive near the Woodlawn Square Shopping Center on Sunday afternoon. The driver, Vickie Morrisett, 62, was heading southbound when Cahill crossed outside of a crosswalk from the west side of the street. Cahill sustained serious injuries and was taken to Kennestone Hospital. Morrisett was unharmed in the incident. The Cobb Police Department is asking anyone with relevant information to contact them at 770-499-3987 as they continue their investigation. STORY 7: Dozens Sick After Eating Diamond Shruumz Infused Snacks   Public health authorities are investigating illnesses linked to Diamond Shruumz-brand cannabis edibles, including chocolate bars, infused cones, and gummies. Reports indicate at least 58 people, including three from Georgia, have fallen ill, with 30 hospitalized and one fatality. Cases span 27 states, prompting a nationwide investigation. Prophet Premium Blends, the parent company, issued a statement urging consumers to avoid these products during the investigation with the FDA. Ingredients like Muscimol, found in mushrooms, are suspected culprits. Symptoms reported include hallucinations, abnormal heart rates, and more severe effects like seizures and respiratory failure. All Diamond Shruumz products have been recalled but may still be in circulation. Consumers are advised to discard any purchased items, and retailers to remove them from shelves. We're going to make the most of this bonus leap-year day as we talk about something that impacts the car shopping process most. We also cover the undisputed most efficient vehicle, as well as the potentially undisputed fastest EV.You may very well be surprised to hear that the most efficient vehicle you can drive still has an ICE engine in it. New EVs still can't beat the efficiency of a plug-in hybrid like the Toyota Prius Prime.The Toyota Prius Prime is outperforming the latest fully-electric vehicles in the U.S., holding onto its title as the greenest car.Despite the rise in EVs, none have surpassed the efficiency of the Prius Prime, thanks to its smaller size and lighter weight.The GreenerCars report of 2024 finds the Prius Prime leading with a green score of 71 out of 100, assessing emissions from manufacture to road use. For reference, the EV Hummer scored a 26. The Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 had the lowest score at 20. Acura says the TLX Type S is the quickest, best-handling all-wheel-drive sedan in its history. But can it provide its unique brand of performance in the midst of a brutal Maine winter? That's what Co-Host Chris Teague set out to find this past week as he road-tested the car. Certainly the 2024 version of the Type S has the specs to get the job done. It features improved throttle response in the Sport+ drive mode from its turbocharged 3.0-liter V6. Incorporating tech derived from the twin-turbo NSX, the engine generates 355 horsepower and 354 lb.-ft. of torque. For the 2024 model year, the TLX Type S gets additional features, including a 10.5-inch head-up display and surround-view camera system. Teague will offer his opinions in this episode. In the other half of the road test segment, Host Jack Nerad will evaluate and report on a car that is in some ways very similar to the Acura TLX and, in other ways, its polar opposite. The 2024 Lexus ES 300h is about the same size and competes in the same segment as the Acura. But in its Ultra Luxury form, it makes no attempt to accentuate sportiness and instead doubles down on luxury. The 300h combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor in a full-hybrid system. Its total horsepower output is 215, which pales in comparison to the horsepower of the TLX Type S. But that isn't the point. With its electric torque, the ES 300h is much peppier than its rating would suggest. And it has plenty of acceleration for the type of cruising it is expected to do. Its goal is total comfort plus uncommon fuel economy, and Nerad will tell you if it succeeds. It's having serious economic effects across the globe, and we'll tell you what it could mean to your household coming up. More positive news: Honda is making wireless AppleCarPlay and wireless Android Auto available to more than half a million owners of older Honda models, and we'll have the details. If you have the right car, wireless functionality could be yours for just $150 or so. You might not yet have noticed, but the auto industry is trying to kill AM radio. Several brands have already dropped AM tuners from their audio systems, and others are threatening to do so. But now an unusual coalition of lawmakers, talk-show hosts, and Luddites is fighting to save it. And if banning AM radio isn't enough, a proposed new California law would put speed governors on every new vehicle sold in the somewhat tarnished Golden State. The Lexus ES is the automaker's most popular sedan.  Last year, Lexus added an all-wheel drive variant to the model line, as well as an F SPORT model.  I spent a week with the vehicle to experience its inner goodness. 

We had a week of good cars! The Lexus ES and BMW M240i left us very little to complain about. And the Kia Stinger GT that we're getting this week should also be very good. But the Toyota 4Runner has its work cut out to woo Chris. And Nathan gets angry at Ford. The 2022 Lexus ES 300h F Sport sedan is designed to appeal to younger and more diverse buyers. And it's a handsome hybrid outside and in. Without sacrificing any Lexus polish, it keeps the brand's promise of comfort and quietness. Gets 44 miles to the gallon too. Just don't think it'll pin you against the seat. Automotive specialist Tom Voelk checks out a well-equipped model in a week all-wheel drive would be handy. Or snow tires at the very least.
