1st Peter Lead with Humility 1 Peter 5 “Leadership is Influence. Nothing More. Nothing Less”. “Too often we view leadership as purely outward, thinking only of how we will climb the next mountain, or overcome the next obstacle, without considering who we will be when we do. But true leadership, great leadership starts within.” Proverbs 11:2, “Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.” Proverbs 29:23, “Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor.”   How do you Lead with Humility? 1) Follow the Leader “And now, a word to you who are elders in the churches. I, too, am an elder and a witness to the sufferings of Christ. And I, too, will share in his glory when he is revealed to the whole world. As a fellow elder, I appeal to you: Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example. And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor.”   2) Tie a Knot in It “In the same way, you who are younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, dress yourselves in humility as you relate to one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.”  (See John 13:4-5)   “The more we look, act, love, and lead like Jesus, the more impactful our leadership will be to the world around us.”   Final thought: Either I humble myself or I can be sure that my sin, or my circumstances will certainly humble me.    Want to talk about a relationship with Jesus? In this episode, Justin debuts the song “War Cry” by the band Ashes to Omens. Ashes to Omens is a 5-piece hard rock band from Athens, Ga. They formed in late July 2017 and have influences from Breaking Benjamin, Nothing More, Audioslave, Iron Maiden and more. Justin also gives some of his thoughts on the Military and its relation to Depression. The song "War Cry" is set for an Oct 2 debut. The official description of the song “War Cry.” Considering everything happening in the world today, it is important to remember to keep hope. The world can be a cold, dark and lonely place for someone that is struggling with demons of their own. Depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts are just a few of the things troubling a lot of people. Overcoming personal demons and rising above them does not come easy for everyone. War Cry is a song about unleashing the warrior buried deep inside of yourself. Understanding that everyone has their own battles to deal with that sometimes are hard to overcome alone. With that being said, we are dedicating our next single release to a fan that we recently lost. -Ashes to Omens.https://www.facebook.com/AshestoOmens

The voice in cinema is a phenomenon that is in many ways taken for granted. Since the advent of the talkies, the speaking voice synchronised to the human body on-screen is the ingrained process for narrative exposition and character development. However, this accepted synchronisation is one of sound cinema’s fundamental illusions. This major production for The Cinematologists features the analysis from leading film scholars and critics, each focusing on uses and interpretations of cinematic voice, using a plethora of filmic examples. Many aspects of the cinematic voice are explored including star voices, script and performance, sonic aesthetics of the voice, voice-overs, the singing voice, voices in animation, the disembodied voice, and politics of who has a voice and who listens. We draw upon many of the key thinkers on film sound including the seminal work of Michel Chion. Chion developed concepts like Audio-Vision, to explore how sound shapes how the screened image can be understood, and acousmetré, meaning the cinema’s use of disembodied off-screen voice. Using these ideas he forwards the argument that sound is not a secondary addendum to image in the cinematic experience, but fundamentally structures how we see and understand film. Unlike our usual conversational format, this episode is an audio-essay; recorded interviews cut together with indicative clips in a sonic collage which is hopefully an immersive experience transversing the boundaries between creativity and criticism. We recommend that you listen to this episode on headphones to get the full effect. As always Dario and Neil discuss the themes of the podcast but also engage with the production and formal approach in the context of film podcasts more broadly. Is podcast marketing right for your business? How much does it cost, and is it hard to get started? Our guest, Shannon Hernandez (also knows as The Shan Man) is a 19 year radio veteran with 18 of his years spent with Arizona rock station, 98 KUPD.He's had the opportunity to interview some of the biggest names in the rock industry like Ivan Mood of Five Finger Death Punch, Phil Labonte of All That Remains… to Ben Anderson of Nothing More, David Ellefson of Megadeth and many more.Shannon's biggest passion is helping content creators build podcasts that make a sonic impact for listeners through sound design, branding/imaging and storytelling. He currently holds down his normal 7-midnight shift for 98 KUPD and produces podcasts like Carey Peña Reports and the Catalyst Conversations.
