Bad Bunny has just had one of the most eventful and triumphant weeks of his career. On Thursday night in Las Vegas, he headlined the 2025 Latin Grammy Awards and won the top honor, Album of the Year, for his deeply personal and genre-defying release “Debí Tirar Más Fotos.” Throughout the show, Bad Bunny's presence was impossible to ignore. Not only did he take home Album of the Year, but he also walked away with multiple wins in urban and reggaeton categories. In his acceptance speech, he dedicated the award to the young people of Puerto Rico and Latin America, reminding everyone to never forget their roots and to always keep dreaming. He told the audience, “There are many ways to show patriotism and defend our land—we choose music.” The Los Angeles Times describes the competition as fierce, but Bad Bunny's performance and message made him the undeniable highlight of the night. The ceremony was filled with electric performances, with Bad Bunny returning to the stage more than once, including an acclaimed collaboration with Chuwi. This week also brought news of Bad Bunny's next chapter. In a surprise move, he released a holiday single called “Pitorro de Coco,” which draws on themes of heartbreak and nostalgia—referencing a traditional Puerto Rican rum drink and weaving his signature storytelling through the new track. According to the Lagos Review, this release sets the stage for his upcoming sixth studio album “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” due out January 5, 2025. The album was announced via an artistic video teaser featuring acclaimed Puerto Rican filmmaker Jacobo Morales, who reflected on the fleeting nature of life and the importance of capturing memories. Many fans and critics see this as Bad Bunny's most introspective project yet, with the album's themes promising a new and more personal direction.Bad Bunny's recent impact goes far beyond music. Al Jazeera reports that his recent month-long residency in San Juan brought more than $200 million to Puerto Rico's economy. Notably, tickets for the first nine shows were reserved for locals with Puerto Rican ID only, reflecting his commitment to his homeland. Across San Juan, restaurants and businesses have built small shrines to the musician, who remains a deeply loved figure locally even as he dominates the world stage. He's currently one of Puerto Rico's most recognizable exports, boosting both local pride and tourism in an extraordinary way.Despite his immense Spanish-language success, Bad Bunny has not switched to English to chase a broader audience, as others have before him. He is firmly keeping his artistic identity rooted in Puerto Rico. Still, his influence is global: according to Al Jazeera, he was Spotify's most-streamed artist for three years running, and his tour was one of the highest-grossing in 2024.Looking forward, all eyes are on his appearance at the Super Bowl halftime show in February, which will mark his only scheduled performance in the mainland U.S. There's some controversy brewing, as some conservative voices are questioning whether a Spanish-language performance is suitable for the Super Bowl, but Bad Bunny's unwavering confidence and massive fanbase seem ready for the global spotlight.Bad Bunny's week has been nothing short of historic: major award wins, new music, a highly anticipated album, and cementing his status as both a global superstar and a deeply committed Puerto Rican icon. Grammy Nominated Zydeco Master Corey Ledet On a tour through Russia, Ledet was treated like royalty, complete with his own security detail. Fans rushed to touch the band's signature zydeco rubboard — the metal, shoulder-slung vest used to scratch out those infectious rhythms. Enthralled by its sound, they nicknamed it the “magic instrument.”Ledet has taken his music everywhere — Hawaii, Canada, Europe — and always hoped to capture the electricity of his live shows. But the right moment for a live album never quite appeared. That changed when the Anchorage Folk Festival invited him to perform. “When that came up, I thought, this might finally be the chance,” said Ledet, 44, a two-time Grammy nominee. “When I arrived, they had everything ready to record. I started thinking about Clifton Chenier — a lot of his best live cuts were recorded far from home. It worked for the King of Zydeco, so I figured, let me try this.” The result is Live in Alaska — the debut live album from Corey Ledet Zydeco, featuring Ledet's mysterious new accordion, “Black Magic.” After combing through three days of recordings, the band chose 11 tracks that solidify Ledet's well-earned nickname: The Accordion Dragon. The album delivers high-energy, onstage versions of English and Creole favorites from Ledet's 15 previous releases, plus a brand-new track, “Alaska Funk,” an impromptu jam born right there onstage alongside his tight-knit Louisiana crew. website www.CoreyLedet.com Social Media www.Instagram.com/coreyledetzydeco About Music Matters with Darrell Craig Harris The Music Matters Podcast is hosted by Darrell Craig Harris, a globally published music journalist, professional musician, and Getty Images photographer. Spanish pop star Rosalía is back with her new album, Lux. Over eighteen tracks, she trades in the dembow beats that filled her last record Motomami for maximalist orchestral sounds more in line with Björk than Bad Bunny. The album is dense: there's four movements, thirteen languages, arrangements by Caroline Shaw, and a wide breadth of influences – from Benedictine saints to Patti Smith. But despite (or because) all of this, Rosalía has gone on record referring to Lux as, ultimately, a pop album. That's where we come in. On this episode of Switched On Pop, Nate and Reanna put on their tour guide hats to talk all things Lux: its sonic genre-bending, Rosalía's poetic lyricism, and her hyper-local flamenco influence. Songs discussed: Rosalía – Berghain Rosalía – Bizcochito Rosalía – De Madrugá Rosalía – Mio Cristo Rosalía – La Yugular Björk – Joga Caroline Shaw, Roomful of Teeth – Partita for 8 Voices Rosalía – Sexo, Violencia y Llantas Rosalía – Divinize Rosalía – Porcelana Rosalía – Dios Es Un Stalker The Police – Every Breath You Take Rosalía – La Perla Johann Strauss II – The Blue Danube Drake – Push Ups Rosalía – Sauvignon Blanc Lady Gaga – Grigio Girls Adele – I Drink Wine Rosalía – Focu ‘Ranni Rosalía – Novia Robot Rosalía – La Rumba del Perdón Learn more about your ad choices. Neko Case is out with a new album called Neon Grey Midnight Green. In conversation with Emily Fox, Case breaks down what spiderwebs can teach us about self-importance, what female and non-binary folks in the music industry have taught her about confidence and not caring about the male gaze and rock n’ roll’s mythology of “you’re lucky to be here.” “The mythology of you're lucky to be here of rock n’ roll… is very harmful and it's often leveraged to make people think that that theater wasn't built to play music in,” Case says. “Like really? That's weird because I don't know, there's a stage and you have a huge sound system in here. Gosh, I guess we could probably get together and make this happen.”Support the show: https://www.kexp.org/sound/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Send us a textNew Orleans' own Cowboy Mouth—the self-described “southern gospel revival without the religion”—are bringing their high-energy rock ‘n' roll celebration back to St. Louis this Saturday, November 8th, for a one-night-only show at the Old Rock House. The stop marks part of their Cover Yo' Azz album tour and coincides with their 35th anniversary—a milestone for one of America's most enduring and electrifying live bands. Tickets available here. For those who've never witnessed the frenzy firsthand, Cake Magazine captured it best:“On a bad night they will blow the roof off the place. On a good night Cowboy Mouth will save your soul.”Frontman Fred LeBlanc, along with John Thomas Griffith, Brian “Bruiser” Broussard, and Frank Grocholski, have built their reputation not just on loud guitars and big choruses—but on turning every show into a life-affirming party that leaves the audience breathless and grinning. And this weekend's St. Louis stop promises exactly that.A New Album, 11 Years in the MakingEarlier this year, Cowboy Mouth dropped their first album of newly recorded material in over a decade—Cover Yo' Azz, a rowdy and reverent collection of cover songs that honors some of rock's most influential artists. The ten-track record reimagines tunes by R.E.M., The Who, Queen, Frank Sinatra, Cher, The Replacements, Fats Domino, and even Hootie & the Blowfish, featuring a guest appearance by Hootie's Mark Bryan on guitar. The band breathes New Orleans grit and charm into each song, turning classics like “The Real Me” (The Who) and “Can't Hardly Wait” (The Replacements) into punchy, modern rock anthems. The album is available now on Spotify and SoundCloud.Critics have been quick to applaud the band's approach. Mystic Sons praised it as “a joyride dressed in ripped denim,” while York Calling called the album “charismatic, soulful, and expertly performed.” Americana Highways perhaps said it best:“Performed with expertise, finesse, and style... the album summed up is a hoot.”Fred LeBlanc Joins The Tippy Jo ShowAhead of the St. Louis concert, Cowboy Mouth's larger-than-life frontman Fred LeBlanc joined Tippy on The Tippy Jo Show, part of The Barn Media's podcast lineup. The conversation dove deep into the band's legacy, their Louisiana roots, and Fred's signature onstage energy that transforms every Cowboy Mouth performance into something between a rock concert and a revival meeting.True to form, Fred's humor and humanity shone through the interview—equal parts laughter, storytelling, and that unmistakable “let it go” spirit that has powered Cowboy Mouth since their debut album Are You With Me? in 1992.www.BetterHelp.com/TheBarnhttp://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn http://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarnThis episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn and brought to you as always by The Barn Media Group. This week's episode features Ben Carrey of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and I couldn't be more thrilled to share this with one with you!! Pigeons is one of my favorite bands — I absolutely love their brand of rollicking, funky rock. Their jams are simply exquisite, and Ben drives this forward motion with his unique style on bass guitar. Pigeons' eighth album, Feed The Fire is out now, and they're headed out on their Fall tour — catch them while you can!Ben is super thoughtful and a gentle and kind soul, and he talks to me about growing up a shy kid in Baltimore — and we discuss how Ben's unique (some may say unorthodox) style of playing has shaped the Pigeons signature sound. Ben is quite literary and very well read and we go down that rabbit hole a bit… with his love of Physics mixed in just for fun.Ben also talks to me about mental health and some of the challenges he faces. He's super open with a striking and honest self-awareness that is utterly refreshing. This is an epic conversation with this talented artist, and I can't wait to share this one with you.=======================================Chapters:00:00 Episode Intro with Host Josh Rosenberg04:38 Introducing Ben Carrey07:17 Celebrating the New Album and Touring Experiences10:21 Collaboration with The Infamous Stringdusters13:15 Exploring Musical Influences and Techniques 16:08 Fretless Bass and Its Unique Qualities 19:10 Cultural Connections and Personal Reflections 22:11 Musical Relationships and Band Dynamics 25:03 The Science of Music and Connection 28:10 Growing Up and Family Ties 33:35 Nostalgia and Family Connections 35:39 The Power of Solitude and Self-Discovery 36:42 Literary Influences and Early Interests 39:38 The Fascination with Physics and Quantum Mechanics 43:49 The Intersection of Science and Spirituality 45:29 The Magic of Music and Sound 48:11 Musical Beginnings and the Journey to Bass 54:04 Overcoming Fear and Embracing Performance 55:46 Mental Health Challenges and the Music Industry 59:40 Finding Balance and Support in Music 01:04:03 Connecting with the Audience and Personal Growth 01:06:18 The Power of Connection and Community 01:08:36 Psychedelics and Mental Health 01:13:52 The Journey of Self-Discovery 01:17:31 The Significance of 'Hit the Ground Running' 01:20:27 Collaborative Evolution in Music 01:24:45 The Impact of Live Performances 01:27:51 Dome Fest and New Beginnings 01:31:32 Looking Ahead: Future Plans and Festivals=======================================For more information on Roadcase:https://linktr.ee/roadcasepod and https://www.roadcasepod.comOr contact Roadcase by email: info@roadcasepod.comRoadcase theme music: "Eugene (Instrumental)" by Waltzer

This is Play That Rock n' Roll's interview with STAN BUSH, the man behind iconic '80s soundtrack anthems like "The Touch", "Dare", "Fight to Survive", and "Never Surrender"! In this conversation, we talk about two of the most important people he works with when recording music, how those collaborations played out on this new album, and what motivates him to record his brand of “motivational rock”. Then he told me about the first band he recorded an album with, how he launched his solo career, and since he'll be playing shows next year – how he puts together his setlists. I met Max Gomez at a show he played in my hometown. It was a solo acoustic show, and I was really blown away by his songs. They have a casual, and intimate feel. I knew I wanted to have him on my show and we finally worked out a time in his busy touring schedule. His songwriting incorporates some of the best elements of folk and country music. He weaves tales, explores heartbreak, and leaves you with a keen sense of the subjects in his songs. We had a great chat about his news album which is out now. You should go listen to it. After you enjoy this podcast. I hope you dig it!
Avatar has dropped their tenth studio album, Don't Go In The Forest, which arrived back on October 31. Frontman Johannes Eckerström is adamant that this is not just "another album," but a "necessity" born from exploring "forbidden thoughts" and new sonic territory. The band is pushing their sonic limits with their "most clearly progressive parts ever" and even piano. We've got the man himself, Johannes Eckerström, on the Loaded Radio Podcast this week to dig into the surreal, dream-like nature of the new record. Listen to the full, exclusive interview here.
Steven and Ian open with a conversation about a memorable Halloween from 10 years ago (0:56). Then they do a Sportscast on the World Series (5:59), and Steven's belief that he's spiritually Canadian. From there, they pivot to the gossipy reception to Lily Allen's new album, and her legacy as a blog-friendly indie-pop phenom from the 2000s (12:25).They also talk about a list of notable Halloween songs that aren't actually about Halloween (19:41) and the prospect for musician biopics after the relative box-office failure of the Bruce Springsteen movie.(29:01). After a quick check-in on the Fantasy Album Draft (42:53), they do a "yay or nay" on whether Feels is Animal Collective's best album (46:36).In Recommendation Corner, Ian talks about Berlin ambient artist Ben Bondy and Steven goes with Chicago indie legend Sam Prekop (50:44).New episodes of Indiecast drop every Friday.
