Woup-Woup ! Salut à toutes et à tous ! L’été arrive ! Avant la période des festivals et des concerts en plein air on va se mettre en jambes ensemble ! Pour ça je t’ai concocté une émission spéciale autour de la dance-punk music, dans un format avec moins de blabla et + de morceaux  endiablés. L’occasion de poser un peu les cerveaux et de laisser les corps s’abandonner au rythme des influences multiples qui composent le dance-punk.. Dans l’émission je vais un peu te parler de ce style dérivé du post-punk et alimenté par la funk, la disco, le rap, le ska, et l’EDM. Je te parle aussi d’un livre intitulé : « Pour la joie. Une ode à la résistance poétique et politique. » – écrit par un collectif de poètes et de poétesses coordonné par Kiyémis, aux éditions Les liens qui libèrent. Car faire la fête c’est déjà lutter en créant des moments de joie et convivialités partagées. C’est aussi créer l’énergie qui permettra de pousser nos luttes encore plus loin. Et niveau playlist je suis pas peu fière de moi car je t’ai déniché des pépites sorties au cour de ces derniers et produites par des groupes de zik qui font pas spécialement du punk à la base. Vulpynes are a two piece punk rock band from Dublin comprising of Kaz on drums and Maeve Molly on guitar and vocals. In spite of the lack of a bass player the band have a weighty sound which is generated through overdrive, distortion and Kaz's intense and controlled drumming. In July 2016 only months after forming the band released their first single "Terry Said" and in 2017 released their second single "OCD".  In 2018 they released their debut EP ‘Vulpynes’ on UK label Headcheck Records to critical acclaim - supported Marmozets, Deap Vally & DOYLE(Misfits), blazed a trail across the UK festival circuit, made their German gig debut and released their gritty, impassioned track 2 Cents. They have recently toured with Sleaford Mods and are about to play their own show The Academy.

This was not by design, and it was extremely lucky that I’d brought a shotgun mic with me, otherwise I’d have been screwed. I also had a friend on hand to help. So thanks must go out to David Rees. He’s a good sound recordists and an even better guitar tech.This was a total pain to edit, particularly because Departures (who are a great band, by the way) started playing pretty much the second I hit record.What transpired was, I think, a pretty good interview. The whole band were in the room at the time, but Lags and Stu were really the ones who wanted to talk. The interview is kind of split into two parts. Not deliberately, it just so happens that the conversation kind of went that way. First half is about Venn, second half is about Gallows. I’ve been a fan of Gallows since Orchestra of Wolves came out in 2006 and I’ve also been a fan of Alexisonfire forever, so to walk into a room to be greeted by a bunch of guys I have some serious respect for was an awesome and nervy experience.The ethos behind Venn Records really appeals to me, and their approach is refreshing compared to many other labels.
