She leaves the hall to cry in private. However, Taena Merryweather finds her and says Cersei's made is a Tyrell spy. Cersei is skeptical of the Myrish beauty, who is one of Queen Margaery's ladies. However, she promises a reward if Taena is telling the truth.Back in the Small Hall, Cersei surveys the room and decides it's full of imbeciles, including her brother Jaime. Everyone will need to be replaced by her own people. When she's called “the old queen” one too many times, Cersei asks for everyone to follow her outside. When the masses are gathered, she has the Tower of the Hand set aflame by wildfire. Sansa chats with various Tyrells, who are making a positive impression in King's Landing. She's lured into being honest about King Joffrey, but the Tyrell women don't seem mad, indeed they offer her a way out of King's Landing. Simon and Mackelly consider the proposal.Chapter Review:Sansa Stark mulls whether to accept an invitation to dine with her future queen, Margaery Tyrell. She knows she must, but she's struggling to understand why she's invited. Her mood brightens when none other than Ser Loras Tyrell arrives to escort her to the Maidenvault, where the Tyrells have been housed. Sansa's smitten and cannot believe they are touching arms while they walk. The pleasant conversation sours somewhat when he doesn't remember giving her the red rose at the Hand's Tourney, and she mentions that he unsearted Robar Royce, who he has since killed in battle. She has better luck with the female Tyrells, notably Margaery and her grandmother Lady Olenna Tyrell. They charm her and pointedly ask for the truth about Joffrey. After some hesitation, Sansa admits that he is a monster. Both ladies take the news in their stride. Furthermore they suggest that Sansa move to Highgarden and wed the heir Willas Tyrell. He's no Loras, but he's also no Joffrey.Characters/Places/Names/Events:Sansa Stark - Elder daughter of Ned and Catelyn Stark.

Diana Rigg has died aged 82. Her breakthrough role was as Mrs Emma Peel in The Avengers, going on to have a distinguished career across film, theatre and television with roles including as a Bond Girl in Her Majesty's Secret Service, Lady Macbeth at the National Theatre and Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones. Charles Dance remembers the actress alongside Mark Gatiss who wrote an episode of Doctor Who for Diana especially. On the line from Beijing, Chinese pianist Lang Lang discusses his new recordings of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, the culmination of a 20-year musical journey for the musician. One version was recorded in the studio, the other in the Thomaskirche in Leipzig, Germany, where Bach worked and is buried. It's been 20 years since Will Smith welcomed “E.T.” to Earth in Roland Emmerich's White House-exploding alien invasion classic, Independence Day. But, seeing as it's 2016, the franchise has refused to go quietly into the night. Consequently, the Watch-men are stuck reviewing its decades-too-late sequel, Independence Day: Resurgence. On this episode, the Watch-men lament over a lack of Goldblum, say the phrase “Earth's molten core” for the first (and probably last) time on the program, and try to answer a number of head-scratching questions – honestly, why couldn't Liam Hemsworth use his Australian accent? Plus Joyce returns to claim the iron-throne of fact checking while Oumar is off again, possibly recruiting the women of Dorne and Olenna Tyrell to join House Watch-men.
"Leave one wolf alive and the sheep are never safe." Arya chillingly says as she gets revenge for the Red Wedding at long last. "When people ask you what happened here, tell them the North remembers. Tell them Winter came for House Frey." Season 7 comes out of the gate hot as House Frey meets its long awaited demise. Bran beyond The Wall sees the Night King and the army of the dead advancing. Meera and Bran arrive at the Night's Watch and tell Edd to send a raven of the looming peril. Jon Snow at Winterfell tells the northern houses about dragonglass and needing as many able bodied fighters as possible. The Wildlings become the Night's Watch at Eastwatch By The Sea, Sansa and Jon disagree about the future of two great houses and Cersei sends Jon a letter telling him to go to King's Landing and bend the knee or suffer the same fate of all traitors. In King's Landing, Cersei and Jaime argue over how to handle the threat to them on all sides. High Garden to the West, Dorne to the South, Dragonstone to the East and Winterfell to the North. Euron Greyjoy attempts to make an alliance with Cersei which she declines. Euron tells her that he will not return until he brings her a "priceless gift" to make her reconsider. Meanwhile, Sam is still at Oldtown working in the Citadel with the Archmaester, Brienne is training Podrick at Winterfell and we get an unexpected cameo from a certain Irish singer! Arya learns that the Great Sept of Baelor was destroyed and that the men she is sitting with were charged with keeping the peace because they heard there was trouble with the Freys at the Twins. They ask Arya why she's going to King's Landing to which she relies "I'm going to kill the queen." While this is going on, the Hound has to face a mistake from the past. Thoros of Myr has the Hound look into the flames and the Hound sees a vision. Back in Oldtown, We see the Cats Paw Dagger in the old archives of the citadel and learn its double use and Sam realizes where the living can find as much dragon glass as needed. A certain grayscaled hero makes his appearance right before we see the Dragon Queen arrive at Dragonstone in Westeros for first time. Daenerys asks "Shall we begin?" Daenerys and her advisers make plans for her next move and she is skeptical of Varys. "Swear this to me Varys, if you ever think I'm failing the people, you won't conspire behind make back. You'll look me in the eye as you have done today and you'll tell me how I'm failing them." Daenerys tells him. Varys responds "I swear it my queen." to which Daenerys replies "and I swear this, if you ever betray me, I'll burn you alive." Melisandre arrives and we learn a certain loophole to the prince that was promised from Missandei and Melisandre urges Daenerys to summon Jon Snow. Daenerys agrees, but adds a required addendum to the summons. In King's Landing Cersei is trying to manipulate and gain as many allies as possible while Jaime specifically attempts to gain Randyll Tarley's alliance from Olenna Tyrell. Sam meets the grayscaled man and realizes who it is, Qyburn has a plan for Daenerys' dragon's while Daenerys' war council has a plan of it's own. Grey Worm and Missandei share a passionate goodbye, we learn what the name for a Song of Ice and Fire was initially intended to be and Sam disobeys a direct order from the Archmaester. Arya sees an old friend at an inn which causes her to change her mind and go North to Winterfell instead of South to King's Landing. Jon receives letter from Sam detailing where Jon can find all the dragon glass he needs and Jon makes an executive decision. Ellaria and Yara have a steamy interaction right before their ship is attacked. Euron shows his true prowess as a warrior and naval commander, killing two Snakes and taking a Greyjoy captive. Keep it rolling with us here at the Riddikulus Crew as we are winding down on this epic Game of Thrones arc. We are in the deep waters now as we have gotten to the point of no return with the only seasons left being the most hotly debated ones that Benioff and Weiss wrote without any books to lean on. As Melisandre warns us in Season 7 Episode 2, "The Long Night is coming. Only the prince who was promised can bring the dawn."
Here it is, finally, and thank you once more for your patience with the delay. Luckily, no rest for us as after just one week away we're back for another wedding in this King's Landing-obsessed episode. Today we talk about the defence of Shae, Sansa's inner strength and skills, and Jaime's embracing of being Lord Commander. But really, we're all here for one thing: the culmination of the epic struggle between Joffrey and Tyrion as we wave goodbye to one of the major villains in all literature with THE PURPLE WEDDING. Today's chapters are: - Tyrion VII - Sansa IV - Tyrion VIII - Sansa V - Jaime VII Hop aboard the Isle for some Patron episode news, a few brief seconds of me trying to do an Olenna Tyrell voice, and a lot of chapter sequencing talk. Not only that but Tyrion's wanting to be a Stark, Jaime & Tywin finally being on page together, Sansa's brief moment of freedom, and a LOT of mean talk about bloody Littlefinger. We close out our time in Westeros with a discussion about minor characters, character arcs, thirst traps, spinoffs, and whether or not the books will ever be completed. This was a marathon discussion and it’s very apparent that one of us is three sheets to the wind as we finally reached the finish line. We dig into our favorite minor characters, which includes a salute to the queen of memes and queen of our hearts - Olenna Tyrell. Jocelyn remains completely on brand and could not choose a single character. As a result, we discuss that sexy Jaqen H'ghar music, characters who are tired of everyone’s ish, and give some well deserved love to the Reed children.Next, we get deep into our feelings about Theon Greyjoy and Jaime Lannister as we discuss our favorite character arcs from the series. We also get into our least favorite arcs. Jocelyn did not appreciate Littlefinger hustling backwards towards the end of his arc and Kristine wanted more development for Daenerys. We then move on to character deaths, which leads us to salute the Queen of Thornes once again for going out like a champ. We discuss the deaths we liked, the deaths we hated, and the ones that left us in shambles. If you are one with the thirst and the thirst is one with you, the segment on thirst traps will not disappoint! We also settle a very important debate about the best Daario and chat about our favorite failed fan theories. The episode closes out with what’s next for fans and we revisit our prior discussion on Pose in response to a lovely listener letter.Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, and we use adult language. We will see you next Wine Wednesday for a discussion about Fleabag. Have you ever basked in the light of vengeance from a character’s demise? Well. Then this is the episode for you. Karma’s a boss ass bitch and she has been putting in overtime to Maria and Gail’s delight. Sit back, grab some snacks (preferably not made by Willy Wonka or Olenna Tyrell), and have a laugh as they go through some of their favorite karma moments in pop culture.
Andrew and Manu hit a true watershed moment in the history of television with the finale of "Baelor," where Ned Stark is stunningly executed right after his son, Robb, wins the Battle of the Whispering Wood and takes Jaime Lannister captive. Yowza. Along the way, Manu brings up a theory that he's discussed on Twitter before with Malora Hightower: the decision to behead Ned was not just Joffrey's violent instinct but also an idea planted by Littlefinger himself. There's more evidence to this than you might think, so take a listen. This all-timer features some excellent character work by Sean Bean, Michelle Fairley, Maisie Williams, and many others, so let's get right into it. Not discussed on the podcast, but worth noting: Jaime talks to Olenna Tyrell about learning from Robb's trick and using it later on at Highgarden in season 7 Alan Sepinwall's review of "Baelor" at the time of its release captures the shock of Ned's death to pretty much everyone except book readers Okay yeah, we need at least one Ned death reaction video iTunes link Google Play link

This episode of Stark Raven Mad covers Season 7 Episode 4 titled “The Spoils of War”. In what was the best episode of Season 7 and arguably one of the best of the series, Dany followed the late Olenna Tyrell’s advice and stopped listening to clever men and embraced the Read more…
In this episode, Blake and Jinny talk about the greatest episode of the entire series, when Jon and Dany finally meet, Euron presenting the Sand Snakes to Cersei at King's landing, Bran's return to Winterfell, Jorah's return to health, the Unsullied at Casterly Rock, and Jaime's confrontation with Olenna Tyrell.
We’re spoiler free and talking about HBO’s Game of Thrones, because we haven’t seen the data from the hack & don’t know wtf is coming. And Olenna, Queen of Thorns, would a rose by any other name be as gangsta? We're talking season 7 Episode 3, The Queen's Justice I'd hate to die like your son. Clawing at my neck, foam and bile spilling from my mouth, eyes blood red, skin purple. It must have been horrible for you, as a Kingsguard, as a father. It was horrible enough for me, a shocking scene, not at all what I intended. You see, I'd never seen the poison work before. Tell Cersei. I want her to know it was me. ―Olenna Tyrell to Jaime Lannister
It was an episode that was a big win for Cersei Lannister. Dazzy, Phoenix and Butcher look back on "The Queen's Justice," the third episode of Game of Thrones - Season 7. Including the devastation of the Dornish and Greyjoys, Cersei's sadistic punishment of Ellaria Sand, Jon Snow finally meeting Daenerys Targaryen, shifty Bran Stark, Olenna Tyrell getting one last savage comment in and much more!

They're back, and they're excited! Dany and Jon finally met in person, and so Nat and Stu - who've been meeting in person now for years - are keen to discuss it. Well, mostly keen to discuss Jon's clifftop brooding and Tyrion's zingers. Our intrepid GoT natterers pay floral tributes to Olenna Tyrell, discuss the crazy geographical criss-crossings of the Greyjoy fleet and Lannister army, and do their best impressions of Emo Bran. There's much more, including some fairly poor-taste humour involving Euron, Cersei, Jaime and a number of orifices. Apologies in advance.

While the Mother of Dragons and Tyrion believe they have have authored the perfect battle plan to rebound from Yara Greyjoy's defeat last week the tables turn yet again as Jamie and Cersei prove yet again they are capable of outsmarting their brother. This episode had a little bit of everything and a lot of interesting twists and tidbits to dive deeper into. Casterly Rock may have fallen to Grey Worm but Yuron has the last laugh yet again while we say goodbye to another beloved character in Olenna Tyrell who met her doom but not without some final parting shots! We also had a Stark sibling reunion, and parade of shame, and several unanswered questions including the whereabouts of Arya? There might be some controversy to the theory that having grandmothers as part of a family is why humans live longer than apes. But there's no controversy about the statement that grandmothers are great. (Even if they aren't "great grandmothers." Which doesn't mean they aren't great...look, you get the point.) This week we look at the Rushmore of Grandmas - real and fictional. Just not Richard, Michael or Jeff's grandmothers, since that would be cheating. Some of these grandmothers are warm and caring. Others are foul and crass. But one thing they have in common is love. And being a lot older than us. Game of Thrones got heated in this week's episode Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken as Sansa's return to Winterfell turned dark. In our discussion on The Cast Beyond the Wall, we delve into "the scene" that sent the internet spinning into a controversial tizzy early this week. Before we tackle the hot button topic, we take a look at some of the episode's more prominent moments including Jorah's reflection on his daddy issues with the Jeor Mormont. Our favorite fallen knight and his dwarven companion Tyrion continue to steal the show on their journey to join Daenerys in Mereen. After the pirate kidnapping, there's only one question left to ask. Where have the Westerosi cock merchants been hiding? After a few weeks away, Arya returns to further explore the depths of the House of Black and White. It turns out, she's not the liar we all thought she was when faced eye to eye with Jaqen H'ghar. King's Landing continues to crumble at the hands of Cersei Lannister in her crusade to keep Margery from taking the seven kingdoms. Olenna Tyrell returns to even the odds, but that doesn't keep the Queen Mother from dragging Loras's name through the mud in a procedural hearing. The titular storyline featuring Jamie and Bronn's mission into dorm falls flat no thanks to a few missteps in the fight choreography and rushed storytelling. We break down all the reasons this plot thread has been dragging and offer a few suggestions on how to send it bouncing back. This episode has been one of the most polarizing yet and we lay down the hammer with our reviews and scene by scene discussion. Don't miss it! Since this season’s “Breaker of Chains”, Game of Thrones’ handling of women and sex has been under intense scrutiny, and with a break in the show over Memorial Day, we dedicate an entire episode to bringing on two of our favorite guests and comedians to discuss exactly these topics! Kelly Anneken & Lydia Popovich join Ivan & Red to discuss Shae as an operator, Olenna Tyrell as a role model, what to do with Ros, the defanging of Arya, Sansa as criticism of the fantasy genre, the big red tent of feminism, Brienne’s Maxi Armor, and issues with the translation from book to tv of the most controversial scenes in the show.
