Fatherhood has long been recognized as a crucial component in a child's development, but society often still assumes that mothers are the primary caregivers. This assumption can leave many fathers marginalized in custody battles and parenting time arrangements. However, fathers bring unique and irreplaceable qualities to their children's lives that must not be overlooked. Fighting for parenting time is not just about legal rights; it's about being an active and present force in a child's emotional and psychological development.Join The Divorce Dadvocate Membership Community - FULL Episodes - Live Meetings – FREE Workshops & Courses – Private Discussion Groups & MORE! - https://thedivorceddadvocate.com/membership-tiers/How Are You Adjusting To Your Divorce? Gillette (pre-decree) and In re Marriage of Cheslik (post-decree). The state of Missouri recently followed many other states by making equal parenting time a rebuttable presumption in divorce and child custody cases. The rebuttable presumption was enacted as part of Senate Bill 35, which went into effect in Missouri on August 28, 2023. Under the new law's terms, there is a rebuttable presumption when determining child custody arrangements that equal or approximately equal parenting time for each parent is in the child's best interests. Dimming The Gaslight: Our Healing Journey From Narcissistic Abuse
After having very limited parenting time to begin with, my NEx is scheduling my children for extracurricular sports during my parenting time and demanding I drive over 120 miles every weekend to Pleasantville to take them. I detail her ridiculous demands, how she even made herself the coach, and how she's taking away additional parenting time unless I obey her! Enjoy Episode 111! The hidden gambit of abusers to weaponize mental health allegations in post-separation parenting disputes is both cruel and cunning. As mentioned in the title of this episode, I also wax lyrical about the way in which I despise the way in which entitled abusers can so relentlessly seek equal shared care (or "50/50" parenting time). With the anticipated legislative reforms that will remove the presumption of equal shared parental responsibility (the decision making component of parenting) , we're on the cusp of a transformation in Australian family law. Through my lens as a Specialist Separation, Divorce, and Co-Parenting Coach, I celebrate the shift toward safeguarding the well-being of children, moving us past the archaic and abusive notion of treating kids as mere assets to be divided equally.Brace yourself as we navigate the treacherous landscape of legal and mental health challenges that surface during these high-stakes disputes. Equipped with practical guidance, I discuss the importance of standing firm against aggressive legal tactics and the power of facts in the courtroom. Mental health isn't just a point of contention—it's a critical area to bolster, through professional support and self-care, ensuring your resilience shines through. What's more, I extend an invitation to you, offering a downloadable checklist and workbook to navigate post-separation abuse, and the opportunity for personal coaching or group membership to bolster your support system. Together, we are stronger, and in this episode, we unite in the journey to reclaim power in the face of adversity. With so many helpful tools and apps out there, it was only a matter of time before something would come along which would help divorced parents figure out a fair way to split up their parenting time. Not only is it important to figure it out right the first time, which avoids vacation, school and weekend snafus, most people need a workable schedule that can diminish any unnecessary interactions with the ex.In this episode, Shea Drefs of Custody Xchange, talks with Modern Divorce host Billie Tarascio about how to use the app that helps parents determine how to split their parenting time. The Custody X Change app helps single parents describe a schedule using the correct legal terminology, while also creating a professional-quality calendar you can present in court or negotiations to bolster your case.
