In the dynamic landscape of gaming, the fusion of cutting-edge financial technology and innovative incentives is shaping a new era of player acquisition and engagement. Host Devin Becker leads an insightful discussion with Ben Cousens, Chief Strategy Officer of ZBD, and Paul West, Founder of Fumb Games, on the transformative power of Bitcoin rewards in gaming. Delving into Fumb's utilization of ZBD technology, they both unveil how this synergy propels gaming retention and LTV through examples of successful games harnessing ZBD's Bitcoin Lightning Network service.Exploring the intersection of financial incentives and traditional user acquisition (UA), the conversation navigates how rewarding players financially complements conventional marketing strategies. Addressing pressing issues in mobile UA and retention, Ben and Paul dissect the system's efficacy in mitigating challenges and fostering sustainable growth. Strategic considerations, such as player segmentation and reward frequency, illuminate the nuanced approach required for optimal results. We explore how this approach manages to be cost effective for game developers by rewarding amounts that are a fraction of LTV while still strongly motivating players.Navigating the complexities of fluctuating Bitcoin prices and the potential for alternative reward forms, including NFTs, tokens and other networks, the discussion forecasts the evolving landscape of gaming incentives for games and potentially gamified apps. As the prospect of moving from free to play to rewarded play becomes potentially more prevalent, the episode raises thought-provoking questions about its trajectory and the ensuing competitive landscape. Join Devin, Ben, and Paul for a compelling exploration of the future where gaming and incentives converge to redefine player engagement. We'd also like to thank Lightspeed Venture Partners for making this episode possible! With its dedicated gaming practice, "Lightspeed Gaming," the firm is investing from over $7B in early- and growth-stage capital — the by far largest fund focused on gaming and interactive technology. Hello and best wishes for the festive season. My gift to you is a brand new episode of the ‘Art on your sleeve' podcast. In this episode I speak with Paula Benson and Paul West from Form. There's a lot that I could say about this dynamic duo and their extraordinarily diverse pop portfolio, but it's probably easier to let them speak for themselves. So, here's a bit of an introduction lifted directly from their website. In the early 1990's founding partners Paul West and Paula Benson opened the London doors of graphic design and branding studio Form with two core philosophies: to create work we are proud of and to build real value for our clients through our thinking and particular approach to bold and recognisable design. With a background in music, within a few years we had worked with most of the major and indie record companies within the UK. We evolved by taking our passion to a wider range of clients in other sectors whilst winning awards for our creativity and gaining international respect along the way. Three decades later we remain just as enthusiastic about outstanding design and engaging communications – and the power they have to transform our clients' products and services. We are problem solvers and ensure our work connects with the target audience by understanding our client's goals and needs in an ever-changing market place. I spent a fantastic afternoon with Paula and Paul at at their studio, digging through an archive of incredible creativity. We reminisced about the many great artists that they have worked with over the last 30+ years, including Cocteau Twins, East 17, Deuce, 2wo Third3, Everything but the Girl, Scritti Politti, Natalie Imbruglia, Girls Aloud, Depeche Mode and Bright Light Bright Light, and many more. The podcast was recorded whilst quite literally sitting within their personal pop archive, so, at times, things get a bit crinkly and crunchy as we dig out way through parcels and packages filled with decades of delightful design. Hopefully, it doesn't spoil things for you, just try to imagine yourself within the space and go with it! Tonight's Jazz Feature is our first for 2023 and it spotlights the talents of Dizzy Gillespie and Stuff Smith. Dizzy Gillespie is of course a Jazz pioneer and the major voice of Modern Jazz trumpet. Hezekiah "Stuff" Smith is a a rarity in Jazz, a master violinist. Stuff has that raw sound derived from the blues and a deep swing and a style that is very adaptable. Producer Norman Granz was right when he brought Stuff and Dizzy together as their outgoing musical personalities meshed and they lit a fire under each other. Dizzy chose the rhythm section wisely. Pianist Wynton Kelly, bassist Paul West and swinging drummer J.C. Heard. There are only four tunes but they all allow the musicians to say their say. The first combines blues and exotica and is by Gillespie and is called "Rio Pakistan", the second is a bouncy standard familiar to all called "It's Only a Paper Moon" and the third is a minor key blues by Stuff and Dizzy called "Purple Sounds" and the last which begins with a rhapsodic intro by Stuff then launches into an up tempo swinger is Irving Berlin's "Russian Lullaby". Happy New Year from Stuff, Dizzy and company and from The Jazz Show!

A couple of years ago, Paul West, managing partner at Carson Wealth, saw a gap in the market to better support business owners and executives. As a one-time business owner who still sees himself as an entrepreneur, he realized the need for a team approach to address the complex money management requirements of this group. Today, West, who has been ranked among Barron's Top 100 Independent Wealth Advisors and as a Best-in-State Wealth Advisor by Forbes, works with Carson private clients (CEOs, executives and multigenerational families) to do just that. A big part of the strategy is helping business owners transition to life outside the business. You can find show notes and other information at CarsonGroup.com/Framework.
