Because there's absolutely no RPGs coming out right now, we recommend a dose of Nintendo Free Radio. New Business is a largely two-man affair following a brief Monster Hunter Generations update from Stephen. Donald spent the ideal amount for Skylanders SuperChargers but may have been screwed by his choice of platform, but he's OK with it since he got a hold of the consensus 2016 Game of the Year. Yes, Metroid Prime Federation Force is out and Donald brings the praise in his usual understated fashion. Since Austen never asked for this, he's playing a recent Deus Ex game... in Deus Ex Go. Following an update on his progress in a console version (Human Revolution), he finishes with PS4 indie game Valley. Despite comparisons to Metroid Prime (the original), it might actually be good. Whatcha Watchin' has Stephen exploring the life of Sinbad in Magi: Sinbad, before Donald talks commercial tie-ins again with Persona 5: Daybreakers. Thankfully, this OVA doesn't spoil. As a follow-up from last episode, Austen tuned into some animated busting in The Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters, as well as a cautionary tale on executive meddling. For the Feature, the team re-assembled following a long week of presentations to talk the Nintendo Direct, the Sony conference (and various things surrounding it) and the first and last time we'll cover an Apple dog and pony show unless they bring back the iPod Classic. (With a 3.5mm headphone jack, kthnx.) The Mushrooms hit a price increase and other problems with Sony, but also folders. Finally. Toys For Games 'Cast - Collecting, playing with, and discussing toys-to-life

Episode 51, on the eve of Christmas Eve, starts out with good, solid intentions of getting back normalcy after the epic Episode 50, but things quickly go off the rails and into the side of a mountain when the airing of grievances commences! Eventually, the duo get down to business, talking about sales for LEGO Dimensions, amiibo manufacturing information, Skylanders variant craziness and Disney Infinity conference calls.   The #CommunityQuestion asks about presents under the Christmas tree, and the Inquire This! trivia question challenges the expert on Frito-Lay promotions for Skylanders. And as always, a few emails to round off the show, including an AMA-A-AMA email!   Thank you, to all of you wonderful fans and supporters of Toys For Games. We love each and every one of you. Episode 49 almost didn’t happen because of a disastrous work week for Josh, but instead of calling it off or phoning it in, a great show came to fruition. Feeding off of Jason’s pre-show energetic buzz, the duo get hyped up for the Episode 50 AMA next week, as well as a bunch of giveaways going on they both are currently running. After talking about the pick-ups for the week, they break down an amazing LEGO Dimensions sale coming up, talk about Skylanders Day, break down some upcoming amiibo production runs and have a fireside chat regarding the Light FX Figures. Oh, and JV’s infamous handshake/snap is brought up, because well, it’s golden.   The #CommunityQuestion asks about The Force Awakens Play Set for Disney Infinity, and the Inquire This! trivia question challenges the expert on the secret world of Ninjago. There are also great emails, of course, which is just preparation for the big roast of Episode 50.   Thank you, to all of you wonderful fans and supporters of Toys For Games. Episode 48 reunited the two co-hosts, Jason and Josh, after the Thanksgiving/Black Friday holiday weekend. They chat about Jason’s incredible Christmas giveaway, breaking street dates, saving babies, and the upcoming Episode 50 AMA podcast! Eventually when they get to the four franchises, they discuss the quiet state of LEGO Dimensions, a lack of amiibo chaos, light-up lightsabers in Disney Infinity, and Skylanders creating the word of the decade: patina. The #CommunityQuestion asks who got what during the Black Friday sales, and the Inquire This! trivia question challenges the expert on LEGO Dimensions knowledge. There are also a ton of great emails, many from new fans, which is incredible awesome to see! Thank you, to all of you wonderful fans and supporters of Toys For Games. Toys For Games 'Cast - Collecting, playing with, and discussing toys-to-life

Episode 47 releases a day early due to the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, but that doesn’t mean the hosts have less to talk about. After a Friday Night Lights discussion, and before the food and documentaries part of the podcast, the duo of Jason and Josh actually get down to some toys-to-life discussion. The long-awaited “Black Friday Sales” episode is here, where they break down ALL of the sales of the toys-to-life franchises from all of the retail locations. The most comprehensive breakdown of every single sale coming up, aside from the full write-ups on Jason’s various websites.   The #CommunityQuestion tries to figures out what franchises people will be hunting for this Friday while shopping, and the Inquire This! trivia question brings our in-house expert back to the beginning of the first significant toys-to-life franchise!   Thank you, to all of you wonderful fans and supporters of Toys For Games. Toys For Games 'Cast - Collecting, playing with, and discussing toys-to-life

After pushing the recording of Episode 46 back a couple of days due to illness, Jason and Josh decide to record on a Friday night, where really, anything can - and probably will - happen. Never before has the show been so off the rails as this one, but somehow the ship is righted and brought back on course to talk about the important stuff you all want to know about: Toys-to-life!   Starting off with some much needed housekeeping, the co-hosts talk about a killer deal for LEGO Dimensions for anyone possibly waiting on the price to come down, they gush over some fan-made concepts of X-Men Disney Infinity characters, discuss the trickling out of Wave 3 of Skylanders, and do their very best to run down all of the amiibo news to be released and leaked in the last week or so.   The #CommunityQuestion tackles what franchises people have been surprised by in toys-to-life genre, while the Inquire This! trivia question is designed to fool the tired expert. Also, as always, plenty of great emails from the community are read, discussed and hopefully enjoyed by all!   Also … R.I.P., Mabel. We salute you, but don’t support any sympathy votes you may get now. Sponsors: LEGO Dimensions is sponsored by Ken Pescatore (@ProudGamerTweet), who’s in charge of the Toys For Games Facebook group. Toys For Games 'Cast - Collecting, playing with, and discussing toys-to-life

When the toys-to-life news for the week gives you lemons, you take those lemons and make a podcast about lemonade. Or meatballs and airport security. Something like that, right?   Jason and Josh are back for episode 43, in between vacations for Mr. Grier, to talk about the latest and greatest from the four toys-to-life franchises - amiibo, Skylanders, Disney Infinity and LEGO Dimensions - per the usual. After tales of giant meatballs, driving in circles and trying to sneak deadly Skylander vehicles past TSA agents at the airport, the dynamic duo break down a weird double-exclusive SuperChargers pack, the upcoming released for LEGO Dimensions, weird word choices by Disney Infinity’s social media team, and what to expect from upcoming amiibo releases.   The #CommunityQuestion tackles the necessity of being interested in a franchise to collect, and one lucky participant wins an entry into the monthly giveaway tied to the brand new and extremely popular trivia segment now called “Inquire THIS.” This week, a listener writes in with a great trivia question for the expert on the show … but how did Jason do answering it? You’ll have to listen to find out!   Also, some more great emails from the community, as always. Thank you all for the love and support! Happy hunting, collectors!   Sponsors: LEGO Dimensions was sponsored by Matt Sonnenberg (@DCLMatt) from DimensionsCharacterList.comandFacebook.com/DimensionsCharacterList. Toys For Games 'Cast - Collecting, playing with, and discussing toys-to-life

Despite a slow news week, Josh and Jason do their best to put on yet another great and entertaining episode of the World’s #1 Toys-To-Life podcast. They start off shooting the breeze, talking about a crate full of Yu-Gi-Oh cards, the scalpers at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo, and some humble bragging about scoring some extremely limited Pepsi Perfect.   Once they get down to the nitty gritty, they chat about Australia possibly being the gateway to Skylands, the missed opportunities with the Light FX Star Wars figures, childhood memories of Pokemon, and the lessons to be learned in LegoLand.   The #CommunityQuestion is cleverly ties in to Back To The Future day, and a new trivia-based segment is introduced, called “Stump The Expert”, where fans and listeners can win some cool prizes while challenging Jason’s knowledge of the toys-to-life franchises. Be sure to listen in and find out how YOU can participate!   Also, some more great emails from the community, as always. Thank you all for the love and support! Well, since the first recording of Episode 41 didn’t work out so well (the file got lost into the ether), Josh and Jason decided to give it a go for a second time. Despite not having the interview from the previous night with the wonderful voice actress Kat Cressida, the dynamic duo did their best to recreate the magic of Episode 41 for the world’s number one toys-to-life podcast.   After a great discussion of factory-direct Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and New York Comic Con, the two hosts dive into LEGO Dimensions and the possibility of Marvel joining the game, a Toys For Games racing league for Skylanders SuperChargers, upcoming store exclusives for amiibo releases and all the chaos and craziness of what’s going on with Disney Infinity.   The #CommunityQuestion is broken down between the hosts, and some great emails are read and answered as well. So, how does the snobbish Donkey Kong Country fan take to a game that's commonly thought of as a cash grab for children? Surprisingly, it might be too intellectual for him...

in THIS, the 16th, and most memorable episode yet, because they just get better and better - we chat about the fact that Konami has "comitted to the core" and plans to continue developing games on their IP like Castelvania and Metal Gear, we doubt they'll do much of repute but really hope some up and coming writer gets a crack at some seriously cool opportunities for stories.  We also chat about games cutting single player entirely - Call of Duty Black Ops III has no campaign on Xbox 360 and PS3, but you get zombies, so Activision are generous gods.  Rainbow 6 Siege has no single player as well, but for different reasons it seems - Brian gets a bit upset about the COD news, while Joe still isn't sure R6 has what it needs to be worth that $60 price tag.Doxy Played some Jotun and likes it quite a bit, but chat seemed to not dig the art style for some reason, while she also got some time in with P.T. finally - it only made her more sadified that it won't come to be. She wasn't a fan of the puzzles though, and even if it were something of a teaser to be tough to figure out, some of itw as just dumb.  She also explains how she had to rethink interior design following the late night play.Brian got into a lot of really cool board games including Exploding Kittens and Artemis. Exploding Kittens almost made Doxy cry at first, but the game still sounds like a blast, and Artemis looks to be a really cool starship sim game played with a projector and dictating responsibilities.  Joe can finally talk about FIFA, and reveals that it's an incredible soccer game for fans, as well as those that wanted to check the game out in general - with a good learning curve that teaches as you go, and a super addictive Ultimate Team mode, it's just plain fun.  If you hate soccer though, you'll hate FIFA so just move on.  Also NBA Live 16 is a bit rough, with some weird physics and a system that just feels like it's cheating you more often than not, it never pays off to put more time in and never feels truly engaging.  This is about the time where Doxy brings up Elements, a card game she's been playing that seems to play against you in the wrong ways - drawing the exact cards you don't need.  Moving on Joe also played Skylanders Superchargers, a baby game he thought, but it took him back to golden days of sitting cross-legged on the floor...and then he actually did that. FOLLOW US EVERYWHERE! This week they aren’t alone, however, as they brought on a special guest to help celebrate the launch of Disney Infinity 3.0! Straight from the Toy Box Summit, and in-between shifts at the popcorn stand in the El Capitan Theatre, it’s Mighty Gitis aka Lauren (@MightyLauren)! As an in-game character, a Disney Infinity celebrity and master of the Toy Box, Lauren brought with her lots of stories from the Toy Box Summit and tons of insightful wisdom regarding every aspect of the game. The trio also got to answer several DI-specific emails as well, many of which were directed to Mighty Gitis herself!   Don’t worry, Skylanders SuperChargers, LEGO Dimensions and of course, amiibo, are talked about as well! Despite it being Disney Infinity 3.0 launch week, the other toys-to-life franchises haven’t steered completely clear of Mickey Mouse and gang. LEGO Dimensions revealed the Midway Arcade Level Pack, Skylanders are looking BEAUTIFUL, and Shovel Knight is kicking down the amiibo door.   Time Stamps: Disney Infinity 3.0 w/ Mighty Gitis - The start, up until 1:34:40 Emails - 1:34:45 LEGO Dimensions - 2:04:13 Skylanders SuperChargers - 2:17:35 Nintendo’s amiibo - 2:30:25 #CommunityQuestion - 2:45:55

Toys For Games 'Cast - Collecting, playing with, and discussing toys-to-life

Josh and Jason prepare for the first huge release since the conception of the Toys For Games ‘Cast, as Disney Infinity 3.0 releases on August 30th! Before getting to the news, they break down the process of mailing coconuts. Once they get to the meat and potatoes of the show, the briefly discuss the quietness of LEGO Dimensions and break down some Skylanders SuperChargers launch news.   Then the fun starts, thanks to Nintendo, who dropped a megaton bomb of information out of nowhere at the start of Disney Infinity 3.0 week! Tons of amiibo news, all of which guarantees Toys For Games will be busy (and broke) through November. Finally, they get to Disney Infinity, as they talk about what to expect from the launch of the game, including all the best places to buy everything you want or need for the brand new game. It’s the final countdown now!   They also break down the #CommunityQuestion, and with the help of a couple of great community members, some actual info was pulled from it! The email section is entertaining as always, as the questions and discussions from them get better and better each week! Also, a huge announcement regarding the future of Toys For Games is made at the end of the show, and hopefully the response is as positive as anticipated!   Thank you all for truly being the Best Community Ever, and hopefully with your help, Toys For Games is going to infinity and beyond!   Time Stamps: Coconuts - 18:18 LEGO Dimensions - 30:18 Skylanders SuperChargers - 38:11 amiibo - 46:00 Disney Infinity 3.0 - 1:14:14 #CommunityQuestion - 1:52:50 Emails - 1:57:28

Josh and Jason are joined by a very special guest - Seth Hay! Seth is the web designed responsible for making ToysForGames.com, and was invited on the show to talk about the launch of the website, the release of Dark Pit and everything else inbetween.   This week, the Toys For Games ‘Cast was severely lacking news from Skylanders SuperChargers and substantial news from Disney Infinity, although they were able to discuss the recently released story trailer for LEGO Dimensions. The conversation picks up once they get to amiibo, where the releases of Palutena and Dark Pit are discussed, as well as the Chibi-Robo packaging and the rumored-but-pretty-much-confirmed special amiibo pre-order event being held at GameStop on August 8. The possibility of a 3-pack of the retro characters Duck Hunt, Game & Watch and ROB being sold exclusively at GameStop was talked about as well. The results from the #CommunityQuestion was broken down, and of course, plenty of emails were read and responded to. Be sure to check out the Customs For A Cure: Rookie Mistakes charity auction and bid on some custom figures where 100% of the proceeds will go to St. Jude. !
