In early November 1872, the Mary Celeste sailed from New York City to Genoa, Italy. Onboard were its Captain, Benjamin Briggs, his wife, and young daughter, and a small crew. Just shy of one month later, the ship would be found, essentially sailing itself, with no passengers on board. When boarded the Mary Celeste was found in perfect order, the crewmen leaving behind the majority of their gear, neatly packed away. Uno de los grandes misterios de los mares es la desaparición de la tripulación del bergantín Mary Celeste, que el 7 de noviembre de 1872 zarpó desde Nueva York con rumbo a Génova trasladando grandes cantidades de alcohol desnaturalizado, pero nunca llegó a su destino. Desde siempre, los barcos fantasma han sido uno de esos misterios que siempre consiguen acaparar la atención tanto de la prensa como del público en general porque no hay nada como una buena historia para que despierte el interés de la gente y más aún si esa historia es real y cuenta con un trasfondo de misterio. Misterio como el del Mary Celeste, una embarcación que zarpó el 7 de noviembre de 1872 del puerto de Nueva York bajo el comando del veterano capitán Benjamin Briggs. Pero la tripulación de esta embarcación desapareció sin dejar rastro alguno, y de manera muy misteriosa, por lo que cientos de años después aún sigue siendo un Enigma sin Resolver. Se han buscado respuestas a lo largo de los años, pero ninguna ha sido confirmada. Una de estas, argumenta que no había ningún indicio de violencia en ninguna parte del barco y por ello se ha estimado que el barco fue abandonado por todos los que se encontraban a bordo en determinado momento, pero de ser así ¿por qué nunca se les volvió a ver? Son muchas las teorías, pero ninguna con una base sólida como para ser considerada la más aproximada a la realidad o lo que ocurrió en verdad. Este es uno de los muchos misterios del mar, uno de los muchos barcos fantasma de los que nada se sabe de su tripulación, a pesar de que el barco se encuentre en óptimas condiciones

Resident Evil 3 erschien 1999 (PlayStation), 2020 (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC) released außerdem auf: Windows PC, Dreamcast, Gamecube entwickelt und publiziert von Capcom Capcom hat seine Liebe zum Resident Evil Franchise wiederentdeckt und released nur ein Jahr nach dem großartigen Remake des zweiten Teils (Link zum Gametalk) direkt auch eine Neuauflage zu Resident Evil 3. Doch dass der dritte Ableger eigentlich nie als Teil der Hauptreihe, sondern zunächst nur als Spin-Off zur Vertiefung der Geschehnisse des zweiten Teils geplant war, macht die Hintergründe zur Entwicklungsgeschichte dieses Spiels umso spannender. Im Original noch mit dem Zusatz "Resident Evil 3: Nemesis" bzw. Resident Evil 2 erschien 1998 (PlayStation), 2019 (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC) released außerdem auf: Nintendo 64, Windows PC, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Game.com entwickelt und publiziert von Capcom Nachdem Capcom mit Resident Evil 7 wieder zurück zum Survival Horror Genre gefunden hat, besinnt man sich weiter zurück zu den Wurzeln der Serie. Resident Evil 7 gehört nicht ohne Grund zu den besten Ablegern der Serie, ist nach heutigen Maßstäben im Original jedoch eher schwer zugänglich. Für das Remake stülpte man dem Spiel daher ein zeitgemäßes Gamedesign sowie eine phänomenale Optik drüber, und das Ergebnis kann sich absolut sehen lassen. Resident Evil 2 hat aber auch eine spannende Entwicklungsgeschichte hinter sich, und schaffte auch schon vor 20 Jahren mit dem Release auf dem Nintendo 64 eine technologische Meisterleistung die damals für unmöglich gehalten wurde. Grund genug also, dieses interessante Spiel in einem ausführlichen Gametalk auseinanderzunehmen! Nach einem Jahr Pause haben wir uns endlich mal wieder nach Köln zur diesjährigen Gamescom begeben. Während Timo auf der Suche war nach einem Spiel, welches seine Leidenschaft für Spiele wieder aufleben lassen könnte, ist Robert zusätzlich eifrig für dailydpad unterwegs. Wir sind uns auf jeden Fall einig: Die Gamescom hat in diesem Jahr wieder hervorragend funktioniert bildet die unglaublich breite Welt der Videospiele hervorragend ab. Es ist zwar schon Februar - aber das bedeutet nicht, dass es schon zu spät ist für einen gebührenden Rückblick auf das vergangene Jahr 2018! Things were simpler in 1999. Everyone was worried about an apocalyptic computer clock error, people were obsessed with Tang and talking animal movies, and video game ads could still reach a mass market via television. And so it was that Super Smash Bros. initially introduced itself to a generation of gamers, four frolicking, bobble-headed mascots beating each other to the tune of "Happy Together" by The Turtles. The popular fighting game kicked off almost a decade of sequels with an ever expanding roster that includes the best characters not just from Nintendo but also the wider video game industry.  So, let's look back on the game that started it all - is Super Smash Bros. one of the best games of all-time? Metroid: Samus Returns erschien 2017 auf dem Nintendo 3DS entwickelt von Mercury Steam publiziert von Nintendo Mit Metroid: Samus Returns führen wir unsere Podcast-Reise in das Metroid-Universum fort, welche im letzten Jahr mit Metroid: Zero Mission begann. Samus Returns kam dafür im Herbst 2017 wie gerufen, ist es doch ein waschechtes Remake des zweiten Teils Return of Samus, das 1991 auf dem Game Boy erschien. Bis auf die grundlegende Spielidee ist jedoch kein Stein auf dem anderen geblieben, und das Entwicklungsstudio Mercury Steam hat sich so einige Freiheiten bei diesem Spiel genommen. Das blieb nicht ganz ohne Kritik, ist es doch das erste 2D-Metroid seit geschlagenen 13 Jahren, und gerade in diesem Genre hat sich seither eine Menge getan. Auf unserer Reise in das Metroid-Universum haben wir jedenfalls Blut geleckt, und darum soll diese Podcastreihe damit auch noch nicht beendet sein.
