Even more concerning, researchers suggest that many cases of so-called long COVID may actually be post-vaccination syndrome (PVS), a condition caused by lingering vaccine-induced spike protein.IMA President & Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joseph Varon leads an expert panel featuring IMA Senior Fellows Dr. Ryan Cole and Dr. Kirk Milhoan, along with researcher Dr. Lynn Fynn to break down the study, its implications, and what it means for those suffering from PVS. They'll explore how vaccine persistence affects the immune system, the overlap between PVS and long COVID, and the growing body of research on post-vaccine health concerns. rWotD Episode 2777: Prehomogeneous vector space Welcome to Random Wiki of the Day, your journey through Wikipedia’s vast and varied content, one random article at a time. The random article for Tuesday, 10 December 2024 is Prehomogeneous vector space. In mathematics, a prehomogeneous vector space (PVS) is a finite-dimensional vector space V together with a subgroup G of the general linear group GL(V) such that G has an open dense orbit in V. The term prehomogeneous vector space was introduced by Mikio Sato in 1970. These spaces have many applications in geometry, number theory and analysis, as well as representation theory. The irreducible PVS were classified first by Vinberg in his 1960 thesis in the special case when G is simple and later by Sato and Tatsuo Kimura in 1977 in the general case by means of a transformation known as "castling". They are subdivided into two types, according to whether the semisimple part of G acts prehomogeneously or not. If it doesn't then there is a homogeneous polynomial on V which is invariant under the semisimple part of G.This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 00:30 UTC on Tuesday, 10 December 2024.For the full current version of the article, see Prehomogeneous vector space on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm neural Amy.

The industrial sector has made huge strides forwards in decarbonisation as landlords, tenants and even the customers of tenants all demand increasingly green credentials, according to Lambert Smith Hampton director of industrial and logistics Elise Evans. Evans was the South East's top industrial dealmaker in the Radius On Demand Rankings in September, with five deals totalling 68,201 sq ft of space. Among them was a 40,000 sq ft letting at Langstone Park in Havant in a building rated EPC A+ and powered entirely through rooftop solar PVs. She says demand for the full spectrum of industrial classes remains strong on her south coast patch, where the docks of Southampton support a thriving logistics sector and advanced manufacturing and engineering flourishes further east.

BUFFALO, NY- August 26, 2024 – A new #editorial was #published in Oncotarget's Volume 15 on July 10, 2024, entitled, “Genotype matters: Personalized screening recommendations for germline CHEK2 variants.” Recognized as a moderate-risk gene, CHEK2—responsible for encoding the CHK2 protein, which plays a crucial role in the repair of DNA double-strand breaks—is associated with a 20–40% lifetime risk of breast cancer (BC) by age 85. While CHEK2 pathogenic variants (PVs) were previously linked to an increased risk of colorectal cancer (CRC), two recent studies have not observed this association. In their recent work, researchers Adela Rodriguez Hernandez, Rochelle Scheib, Judy E. Garber, Huma Q. Rana and Brittany L. Bychkovsky from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School in Boston, found that a CHEK2 PV does not increase the CRC risk compared with controls (odds ratio 0.62 (0.51–0.76), p < .001). The cancer risks associated with CHEK2 PVs vary depending on the variant type, and risk management strategies should reflect this variability. The CHEK2 c.1100del is the most studied truncating variant and has been crucial to our understanding of the cancer phenotype. Cancer risks seem to be higher with truncating variants compared to missense variants. “In our study, we postulated that these differences were driven by three common low-risk (LR) missense variants: p.I157T, p.S428F, and p.T476M, all of which have a BC odds ratio of

Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) is one of the two image management technologies available in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and Citrix DaaS.  Historically PVS has been used to deliver Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop workloads (VDA's) to servers and virtual machines from a single image over the network.  However, it can also be used without CVAD/DaaS as a standalone product, physically streaming the OS disk to an endpoint device. These endpoint devices can be “dummy terminals” with no hard drives at all, zero/thin clients, high-end compute and graphics devices, and everything in between.  This can include additional use cases for Security and locations with devices without hard drives. In this episode we discuss the history of PVS and some of its applicable use cases.  We also cover some technical aspects of PVS and the benefits enabled by the roll-forward and roll-back of images.  Host:  Bill SuttonCo-Host:  Geremy MyersCo-Host:  Todd Smith

Contrary to conventional wisdom advising against physical activity for post-viral syndrome, I push back, drawing from my own experience with a similar condition dating back to my teenage years, and insights from recent studies. From dissecting mitochondrial and metabolic dysfunction to scrutinizing the effects of various exercise modalities, I emphasize the significance of movement and cultivating a supportive network. Tune in as we untangle the intricacies of long covid and reshape the conversation surrounding exercise and recuperation. A new analysis by NREL that reveals that the $4 billion economic value represented by cardboard and paper is lost due to landfilling. The study, focused on 2019 data, emphasizes the potential for substantial energy, environmental, and economic benefits through improved waste management strategies for paper and cardboard waste, which constitutes a quarter of municipal solid waste in the United States.Owners of electric vehicles (EVs) are more likely to install solar panels on their homes, according to a behavioral study analyzed by researchers NREL. The study, based on a survey of 869 households in the San Francisco Bay Area, reveals a complementary relationship between EVs and solar photovoltaics (PVs), suggesting potential benefits for energy system resiliency and cross-sectoral adoption of sustainable technologies.NREL has released its 2023 Standard Scenarios, offering insights into potential changes in the U.S. electricity sector until 2050. The scenarios, generated using NREL's Regional Energy Deployment System model, project significant growth in wind and solar power by 2050, with a five-fold increase in wind capacity to 750 GW and a tenfold increase in solar capacity to 1,100 GW.This episode was hosted by Kerrin Jeromin and Taylor Mankle, written and produced by Allison Montroy and Kaitlyn Stottler, and edited by Joe DelNero and Brittany Falch. BUFFALO, NY- November 22, 2023 – A new #research paper was #published in Oncotarget's Volume 14 on October 4, 2023, entitled, “Determination of genetic predisposition to early breast cancer in women of Kazakh ethnicity.” Breast cancer (BC) is the most common type of cancer among women in Kazakhstan. To date, little data are available on the spectrum of genetic variation in Kazakh women with BC. In this new study, researchers Gulnur Zhunussova, Nazgul Omarbayeva, Dilyara Kaidarova, Saltanat Abdikerim, Natalya Mit, Ilya Kisselev, Kanagat Yergali, Aigul Zhunussova, Tatyana Goncharova, Aliya Abdrakhmanova, and Leyla Djansugurova from the Institute of Genetics and Physiology, Kazakh Institute of Oncology and Radiology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University aimed to identify population-specific genetic markers associated with the risk of developing early-onset BC and test their association with clinical and prognostic factors. “To our knowledge, this is the first study using NGS [next-generation sequencing] technology to study the genetic predisposition to early-onset BC women from Kazakhstan and assess their impact on the patients' clinical outcomes.” The study included 224 Kazakh women diagnosed with BC (≤40 age). Entire coding regions (>1700 exons) and the flanking noncoding regions of 94 cancer-associated genes were sequenced from blood DNA using MiSeq platform. The researchers identified 38 unique pathogenic variants (PVs) in 13 different cancer-predisposing genes among 57 patients (25.4%), of which 6 variants were novel. In total, 12 of the 38 distinct PVs were detected recurrently, including BRCA1 c.5266dup, c.5278-2del, and c.2T>C, and BRCA2 c.9409dup and c.9253del that may be founder in this population. BRCA1 carriers were significantly more likely to develop triple-negative BC (OR = 6.61, 95% CI 2.44–17.91, p = 0.0002) and have family history of BC (OR = 3.17, 95% CI 1.14–8.76, p = 0.03) compared to non-carriers. “This study allowed the identification of PVs specific to early-onset BC, which may be used as a foundation to develop regional expertise and diagnostic tools for early detection of BC in young Kazakh women.” DOI - https://doi.org/10.18632/oncotarget.28518 Correspondence to - Gulnur Zhunussova - gulnur_j@outlook.com, and Nazgul Omarbayeva - nomarbayeva1@gmail.com Sign up for free Altmetric alerts about this article - https://oncotarget.altmetric.com/details/email_updates?id=10.18632%2Foncotarget.28518 Subscribe for free publication alerts from Oncotarget - https://www.oncotarget.com/subscribe/ Keywords - cancer, breast cancer, early-onset breast cancer, triple negative breast cancer, next-generation sequencing, pathogenic variant, Kazakh population About Oncotarget Oncotarget (a primarily oncology-focused, peer-reviewed, open access journal) aims to maximize research impact through insightful peer-review; eliminate borders between specialties by linking different fields of oncology, cancer research and biomedical sciences; and foster application of basic and clinical science. It's an Ozark county populated by people who declared their independence from the state in 1961. In short, they're not people you want to mess with. If only a would-be burglar knew a little more about McDonald County before he let himself into a local home last week. Two homeowners came home at about 9:30pm to find 62-year-old James Garrett skulking around their Tiff City house. Both were armed when the intruder took a shot at them. They then returned fire and both hit their target. (Click Here for Full Article)   FROM studentofthegun.com: Thanks to the combined efforts of Hernando Cortez and Sir Walter Raleigh, hogs have been native to the United States of America for over four hundred years now. Those who make a living selling ham and bacon are grateful for that fact. However, those whose crops and fields are devastated by feral hogs, not so much.  The southern and central US has become the perfect breeding ground for feral pigs with Texas holding the distinctive title of high wild hog population. When I started hunting hogs in the Lone Star State, around 2010, the Texas hog population was pushing 2 million. Today, that number is pushing 3 million with an estimated 6 million plus spread out across various states. For those wishing to hone their skills in the field with a rifle, Texas is definitely the land of opportunity. Feral hog season is open all year long, day or night.   (Click Here for Full Article)

Today, I am speaking with Thijs van Leeuwen, Director of Product at Planet. Most of you should be aware of Planet, the company that operates the largest fleet of earth imaging satellites. A couple of years ago, Planet acquired VanderSat, a Dutch startup offering data products like soil moisture derived from various sources of satellite data.Today, VanderSat's capabilities are integrated into Planet and the fruit of that collaboration is what Planet calls Planetary Variables (PVs), a set of products that are directly usable by end-users without the need to process satellite imagery. As an advocate of making EO mainstream, I have been quite excited about PVs ever since the announcement. So, I decided to have a chat with Thijs, who was the CEO of VanderSat before the acquisition, on the podcast. In this episode, we discuss VanderSat's journey, what are Planetary Variables, what data sources they use, the black-box problem, Planet's vision for Planetary Variables and more.Planet acquires VanderSatPlanetary Variables---01:17: Thijs' Intro and Overview of Planet06:53: VanderSat: Founding journey13:07: Acquisition by Planet15:23: What are Planetary Variables (PVs)?18:57: Examples of PVs and what data they use22:44: Are PVs data-agnostic or do they use only Planet data?23:59: How do PVs fit into Planet's vision and existing set of customers? 29:11: How do you come up with a PV?30:48: The black-box problem: What is the methodology to derive a PV?35:26: The future of PVs after the acquisition of Sinergise38:34: The state of EO and why EO is not mainstream yet43:07: Wrap-up questions

It's because most collagen is missing a critical ingredient. And without this “missing link,” collagen WILL NOT WORK. With this "missing link," you can turn loose, saggy skin –– into tight, glowing, younger-looking skin!   So what is that missing link I am talking about? VITAMIN C.   Of course, you may know Vitamin C as a powerful immune-boosting nutrient...   But did you know that Vitamin C is a critical nutrient for anti-aging? You see, Vitamin C is the "glue" that holds collagen together in your body. And if you're low in Vitamin C, well, all of that collagen you're taking is pointless.   And here's the thing, not all Vitamin C supplements are created equally…   If you're taking Vitamin C in capsule or tablet form, you are missing out on key nutrients as they will simply pass through your body without being absorbed (you can thank your stomach acid for that).   However, our friends over at Purality Health have a patented formula that utilizes something called ‘MICELLE LIPOSOMAL' technology which delivers the nutrients into your bloodstream – proven to be 800% more efficient!   So, if your skin is looking older than you... And the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, sagging skin, and otherwise “old-looking” skin frustrates you…   Give Purality Health's Micelle Liposomal Vitamin C a try!
