Which famous designer refused to pay for $100,000 worth of samples? What major eyewear company has a Chief Financial Officer with no credentials besides being a party magician? Where does being over a size 6 and an A cup make you "fat?" What really happens behind the scenes at Fashion Week? I LOVE clothes. I love theatrics. I love escapism. What I do not love is when some people suffer greatly to compensate for others' greed. On the heels of New York Fashion Week, I decided to revamp and re-release one of my juiciest, most scandalous, most shocking, and all-time favorite episodes. Our anonymous contributors went to hell and back in different parts of the exploitative, discriminatory, and deeply unglamorous Fashion Industry. With the help of DeuxMoi, I found ex-employees of American Eagle, BCBG, Dolce Vita, Halston, Free People, Linda Farrow, Stone Cold Fox, Victoria Beckham, Zac Posen, and some of the most famous- and infamous- fashion houses IN THE WORLD that I can't mention by name! From dreamy, druggy parties to nightmare celebrity clients, body shaming to illicit sex, criminally low salaries and even lower self-esteem, turns out fashion is everything and nothing you thought it would be.  In the words of one of our confessors: “we're paying countries and people literally no money because we [the consumer] need fashion. I don't think people realize that.”  ~ GOT A SECRET TO GET OFF YOUR CHEST? Share your own confession - or thoughts and feedback - at confessions@aliweissworld.com. Zibby speaks to screenwriter and debut author Rachel Koller Croft about Stone Cold Fox, a riveting, provocative, and twisty new thriller about an ambitious woman who, after a lifetime of conning alongside her mother, wants to put her dark past behind her and marry New York's hottest and wealthiest bachelor. Zibby and Rachel analyze the incredible protagonist Bea, who is wickedly intelligent, observant, and powerful (but also a bit of a liar). Then, Rachel talks about her fascinating career – from selling luxury floral arrangements to seeing her script and original songs on screen (you can watch Torn Hearts on Amazon Prime – it is the “country horror musical movie” of Rache's dreams!) to finally publishing this novel. They come in literally thousands of colors, styles, washes and cuts, but that's neither here, nor there. Get out of here, ultra-slim fit! Stay back, acid wash! That's right, this week, America Won't Shut Up About Regular, Plain Jeans! To get to the bottom of this trend, we go right to the top of the fashion food chain and talk to the Editor-and-Chief of Clothes Magazine, Beth Foliage. She's a true trendchaser, but more importantly, a trendsetter. Later in the show, we meet a "Regular, T-shirt and Jeans Kind of Guy," when we sit down with the very modest, Dave or Billy. He likes his jeans like he likes his coffee, whatever you're having is fine. This weeks' episode also features a visit from our good friend, and professional puzzlemaster, Hank Schlitz, aka The Befuddler. He's got some great denim riddles to get you through flu season. Of course, we'll also take a look at this week's headlines, talk extensively about pockets, and 6 or 7 other things, plus music from the Foo Fighters. This week on America Won't Shut Up! Our guests this week are Kate Riley and Brandon Gulya (@bgulya). Brandon would love for you to check out his sketch comedy team, Stone Cold Fox, Friday nights at NYC's UCB Theatre. With casting help from DeuxMoi, Part 2 brings you horror stories from the offices of BCBG, Dolce Vita, Halston, Linda Farrow, Stone Cold Fox, Teen Vogue, and Zac Posen, plus some you'll have to figure out for yourself ;) Our anonymous contributors got shoes thrown at their head by Steve Madden (!!!), consulted for Sarah Jessica Parker, hung out with designers who are now convicted rapists, and did lots and lots of cocaine.
