The Athletic reported that the Big Ten has informed Michigan that it is considering handing down punishment based on what the NCAA has found in its investigation of the signal-stealing accusations. Michigan has until Wednesday to respond to the league. Meanwhile, The Associated Press reported that a former staffer from another Big Ten school has come forward to say he was assigned to steal MICHIGAN'S signals in 2022. How will all this affect Michigan as it prepares to face Penn State on Saturday? We have no idea. Next, Max Olson of The Athletic joins us to pick games against the spread. Locked On Big 12 - Daily College Football & Basketball Podcast
The Texas-Oklahoma rivalry, often referred to as the "Red River Rivalry" or the "Red River Showdown," is one of the most storied and intense college football rivalries in the United States. This annual matchup between the University of Texas Longhorns and the University of Oklahoma Sooners takes place at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas, during the State Fair of Texas, typically in early October. The history and passion behind this rivalry run deep, making it a significant event in the college football calendar. The roots of the Texas-Oklahoma rivalry date back to 1900 when the two teams first met on the football field. Over the years, the competition grew in intensity, fueled by the proximity of the two states, cultural differences, and a shared desire for football supremacy. The game's location in the neutral territory of the Cotton Bowl adds to the excitement, as fans from both sides converge to support their teams, creating a sea of burnt orange for Texas and crimson and cream for Oklahoma. One of the unique aspects of this rivalry is the split allegiances among fans in the Dallas area and beyond. You'll often find families and friends divided by their loyalty to either Texas or Oklahoma, leading to friendly (and sometimes not-so-friendly) banter and rivalries within households and communities.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!eBay MotorsWith all the parts you need at the prices you want, it's easy to turn your car into the MVP and bring home that win. As the Bears regroup from their first loss, Brice Cherry and John Werner are ready to talk some college football: • The Baylor Bears will not go undefeated as the dream fizzled in Stillwater. Let's glance into John Werner's Dave Campbell-esque crystal ball — will the Bears be ranked in the Top 25 at the end of the season? • Offensively, Baylor has regressed in its last two games against Oklahoma State and Iowa State. Admittedly, those are pretty good defenses. But what's most concerning for the Bears right now? And do you agree with Dave Aranda that these issues are fixable? • Who is Baylor's MVP through the first 5 games? How about JT Woods? • Texas has (sort of) righted the ship and Oklahoma hasn't been a world-beater, to say the least. Could the Red River Shootout be another close one, even an instant classic after a 4 OT game last year? • An all-Texas Big 12 tussle is on tap as TCU travels to Lubbock — which teams needs it more, who's likely to win this one, and are those the same team? In the opening take, Grant tells you what kind of opportunity this OU team has this weekend when they play at Kansas State. Then Lee joins to go over the news and notes of the week beginning with the loss of Jon-Michael Terry (5:30). Remember Caleb Kelly? What if he gets healthy and comes back to play at some point down the stretch (11:50)? Lee's giddy over the offensive line and its potential (17:50). Alex Grinch as a head coach? That was a thing this week and Lee goes over why he doesn't think Lincoln Riley is leaving Norman anytime soon (21:40). How has our thoughts on K-State evolved throughout the season (32:05)? K-State's offense has a lot of pro-style principles that has not produced a lot of big numbers (36:05). Skylar Thompson is a decent threat with his legs, but he's not the best thrower of the football (38:05). Lee's very interested to see how OU's defensive line plays against this K-State offense (41:00) and Grant points out that K-State's offense has not fared well in the Big 12, plus we go over some of the Wildcat players you should know (42:10). Do we have the right yet to expect OU's defense to have a lot of success against offenses like this (48:25)? Is this the best defense OU will have seen so far (50:40)? K-State's defensive line could pose a sneaky threat to OU's offensive line (56:00). Keep an eye out for K-State's defensive coordinator Scottie Hazelton (58:30). Nobody on K-State's defense is having an eye-popping statistical season (1:00:45). Based on what we've seen from the tape, this could be a big game for OU's outside WRs, plus K-State has had issues with running quarterbacks (1:02:15). Grant goes first as he tells us what he *wants* to see happen Saturday (1:05:20) followed by what Lee wants to see (1:08:55). Please allow Lee to talk you through what *will happen* when OU plays K-State (1:13:15), then Grant gives you his take (1:17:15). K-State's most important defensive stat is something we totally forgot to mention earlier (1:18:20). We save a lot of our Big 12 talk for the picks section, which happens now as we admit that we've been pretty bad recently against the spread. Games this week: Wisconsin-Ohio State, Auburn-LSU, OSU-Iowa State, Texas-TCU, Notre Dame-Michigan. Also forgive Lee's random rant about the Bears at the beginning (1:20:55). | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonNews9

Did you miss us on Monday? We're sorry. To prove it, we're not just previewing ONE game this week, we're previewing all four Texas teams with amazing guest Shehan Jeyarajah of texasfootball.com/. Topics include: Bob Stoops is reuniting with Landry Jones. Is Texas really in trouble or just really beat up? How worry should we be about TCU, especially on defense. Something is wrong with Jealon Reagor. Boarding the Jett Duffey... Jett. Tech has a defense. Does OSU or Baylor have the better offensive duo? Just how far can Baylor legitimately go this season? Shehan covers every team in Texas. We mean every. team. Hosts Phillip Slavin and Chris Ross Follow the mothership, landgrantgauntlet.com
In the opening take, Grant's really let that OU-Army game get to his head and he's got no idea what kind of defense the Sooners will play this Saturday. Then Lee joins to push back against Grant's opening take (5:55). Looking back at the 2017 debacle in Waco where OU's defense got lit up by a QB who's currently flipping burgers (10:15). Charlie Brewer looks like he's taken over the starting QB job for Baylor and his arm strength is not great - but he's got above average accuracy (15:35). Baylor's got some talented skill players -- but man, the Bears struggle to run the football (19:30). Lee tells you exactly how OU can limit Baylor's offense this Saturday -- which means we probably won't see the Sooners do any of it (26:10). Grant reminds us that Mike Stoops' didn't have a bad game plan against Iowa State (32:05) and Lee makes sure everybody knows that Duke has once again given OU a blue print on how to limit an opposing team (33:50) because the Blue Devils dominated Baylor a couple of weeks ago (36:30). OU's offense shoudln't have problems moving the ball against Baylor's defense (40:00). The guys explain what they *want to see* from the Sooners against the Bears (43:20). OU-Baylor game predictions plus we pick a winner against the spread (48:20). Chatting briefly about the Big 12 games this week (52:15) including Lee's super homer take on the Texas-TCU game (55:30). Grant wonders if OU could be caught looking ahead to Texas (58:30)? We've got a ground breaking first in "Cross 'em off" (1:00:30). Finally the guys make their weekly picks ATS, and Grant likes a decent amount of games this weekend (1:06:20). | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonNews9
