My latest Quantum Tech Pod with Andrei Dragomir – Co-Founder and CEO of quantum company Aquark Technologies is live! Andrei grew up in Romania in a house with a scientific focus: his mother is a professor of physics, and his father is an engineer. He remembers as a kid going to his mom's lab after school, where his toys of choice were the devices lying around—the optics, the lasers, the electronics. He moved to the UK to study, and for the first two-thirds of his PhD at the University of Southampton, he focused on microfabrication and vacuum science rather than quantum physics. Aquark Technologies was spun out of the University of Southampton in 2021 to develop the world's smallest plug-and-play cold atom quantum device. Andrei and I discussed recent developments in cold atom technology, including the invention of “super molasses,” which simplifies miniaturizing and mainstreaming this technology. One application is a “gravity camera,” which can scan large areas simultaneously and monitor long-term gravity signatures. The company has been selected for the Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) initiative, a NATO-funded accelerator program. Aquark aims to miniaturize quantum devices for multiple real-world applications, such as sensing, computing, and communications, leveraging cold atom technology. Check out my wide-ranging conversation with Andrei! The “Quantum Tech Pod” podcast, hosted by Christopher Bishop from Inside Quantum Technology, offers a deep dive into the rapidly evolving world of quantum technology. Christopher, an industry expert, engages with leading figures in the field, discussing the latest developments, breakthroughs, and challenges in quantum computing, communication, sensing, and cryptography. The podcast is an informative platform for experts and enthusiasts, providing insights into how quantum technology shapes the future and its implications across various industries. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just curious about quantum technology, “Quantum Tech Pod” delivers engaging conversations illuminating this cutting-edge field.

Throughout centuries of persecution and marginalization, the Roma and Adivasi have been viewed as both victims and fighters, as royals and paupers, beasts and gods, and lately have been challenging the political and social order by defying the status quo. In Power on the Move: Adivasi and Roma Accessing Social Justice (Bloomsbury Publishing, 2022), author Cristina-Ioana Dragomir traces the struggle for social justice in Roma and Adivasi communities based on intensive ethnographic work in Romania and India conducted over six years. Different from commonly held suppositions that assume most marginalized and mobile communities typically resist the state and engage in hostile acts to undermine its authority, Power on the Move shows how these groups are willing to become full members. By utilizing different means, such as protests, sit-ins and grassroots organizing, they aim to gain the attention of the state (national and international), hoping to reach inclusion and access social justice. Dr. Cristina-Ioana Dragomir is an immigrant and scholar of Social Justice and Human Rights, working on migration, gender, and environment. She is Clinical Assistant Professor in Global Liberal Studies at New York University. Previously she taught at Queen Mary University of London, Columbia University, Institute for the Study of Human Rights; she served as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at SUNY Oswego, and was a Center for Advanced Study of India 2016-2018 Visiting Scholar at University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy. She also consults with the United Nations, GIZ, and IOM. She is also the author of Making the Immigrant Soldier: How Race, Ethnicity, Class, and Gender Intersect in the US Military (University of Illinois Press, 2023). Aleem Mahabir is a PhD candidate in Geography at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. His research interests lie at the intersection of Urban Geography, Social Exclusion and Psychology. His dissertation research focuses on the link among negative psychosocial dispositions, exclusion, and under-development among marginalized communities in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Dragomir växte upp i Stockholmsförorten Fittja under tuffa familjeförhållanden.

HEADLINE: Saint Wenceslaus (935) by The Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Saint Wenceslaus was the King of Bohemia who obtained his title from the Emperor Otto I. He was a noble and royal ruler, educated in the Catholic Faith by his grandmother, Saint Ludmilla. His great devotion was to the Blessed Sacrament. His father was a Christian. But his mother, Dragomir, pretending to be a Catholic, was a pagan at heart. She did everything to make him suffer. Saint Wenceslaus was killed before the Blessed Sacrament at midnight by his brutal brother, Boleslas. Saint Wenceslaus was only thirty-two years old at the time. He had dedicated himself to God by a vow of chastity. Joe Biden and his Catholic faith - There is evil it seems everywhere! Germany - Hebrews 12: [5] And you have forgotten the consolation, which speaketh to you, as unto children, saying: My son, neglect not the discipline of the Lord; neither be thou wearied whilst thou art rebuked by him. [6] For whom the Lord loveth, he chastiseth; and he scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. [7] Persevere under discipline. God dealeth with you as with his sons; for what son is there, whom the father doth not correct? [8] But if you be without chastisement, whereof all are made partakers, then are you bastards, and not sons. [9] Moreover we have had fathers of our flesh, for instructors, and we reverenced them: shall we not much more obey the Father of spirits, and live? [10] And they indeed for a few days, according to their own pleasure, instructed us: but he, for our profit, that we might receive his sanctification. [11] Now all chastisement for the present indeed seemeth not to bring with it joy, but sorrow: but afterwards it will yield, to them that are exercised by it, the most peaceable fruit of justice. Before it even starts, before a sword is swung, a blaster pulled, or punch thrown, the dramatic dance of words, taunts and snide remarks sets up that tension, the stakes, the honor on the line... Welcome to our 2 player one-shot of Jess Levin (Jess from Online)'s wonderful new game I Have the High Ground, a wonderful collaborative game about banter, posturing, and capes in the moments that lead up to a confrontation. Christian & Rene reprise their roles from the very first series we ever streamed, Dragomir and Jaoved from Troy's Shadows of Esteren series. First, it was a blast to revisit these characters and the world of Esteren. Second, this game is so good at staying simple in its mechanics and out of its own way to just keep the drama high, help you come up with fun banter between rounds and interactions. And third, it's concise with us playing in less than an hour and a half, two players is so accessible for people without big gaming groups, and even if you do have a big table, you can EASILY use this game as a little bonus mini-game to ramp up tension and roleplay in a pivotal scene (in fact, Rene already has a plan to use this in his homebrew game)! Please, please, don't sleep on this one and go check it out, it's a BLAST!
