Read the full post on Substack here. "Many of us have learned to survive by disconnecting from our emotions, shutting down sensations in our bodies, and keeping our pain locked away in the unconscious corners of our minds. At some point, this numbing may have been necessary. Numbness may keep us safe from pain, but it also keeps us from feeling fully alive. It separates us from the love, joy, and connection we long for. And yet, the idea of “feeling again” can be terrifying—because if we let ourselves feel, what if it's too much? What if we get swallowed whole? What if we can't climb out of the spiral? But over time, that protection can become a prison. It prevents real connection with ourselves and others. I want to tell you this: you are not broken. And you don't have to go from numb to feeling everything all at once. There is a way to gently, safely reconnect with your emotions—without drowning in them. As we step onto the path of healing, we come to realise that true liberation requires us to feel again".Stacie is creating a safe space to share, connect and grow a sense of community on Substack. We'd love your feedback! What resonated for you in this episode? What do you want more of?Why is it that we can understand the abuse we suffered, understand why we are hypervigilant, and yet not see the progress we are hoping for on the healing front? The trauma of an abusive, narcissistic and coercively controlling relationship affects survivors in such a way that we cannot just think our way out of it. Your brains and nervous systems have been re-wired to protect you and your survival at all costs. And your nervous system will not give up those strategies of survival just because you now understand the abuse. This abuse is held in our bodies as well. So we need a full bodied, holistic approach to healing and this is what I am talking about with Erica Bonham, LPC today. We discuss the different ways in which trauma is held in our bodies and she shares some practical tips and skills you can use today to start to lower your hypervigilance and fight, flight, freeze, and fawning responses.Erica shares her passion in helping survivors heal and how she is offering this healing to a wider audience in her new book, Always Enough, Never Done.Erica Bonham is a certified EMDR clinician, consultant and trainer, and is a licensed professional counselor and nervous system regulation coach in the state of Colorado. The spiritual church(state) is about warfare Arcana Coelestia 7233. [2] In respect to this matter, be it known further that the doctrine of the spiritual church is not that of truth Divine itself, because those who are of the spiritual church have no perception of truth Divine, as have those who are of the celestial church; but instead of this perception they have conscience, which is formed from the truth and good which they have acknowledged within their own church, of whatever kind these may be. (That those who are of the spiritual church are relatively in obscurity in respect to the truths of faith, see n. 86, 2708, 2715, 2716, 2718, 2831, 2935, 2937, 3241, 3246, 3833, 6289, 6500, 6865, 6945.) Hence it is that everyone within the spiritual church acknowledges as the truth of faith that which its founders have dictated, nor do they search further from the Word whether it be the very truth; and moreover if they did search they would not find it unless they had been regenerated and at the same time enlightened in an especial manner; and this for the reason that their intellectual can indeed be enlightened, but the new will cannot be affected with any other good than that which has been formed by means of conjunction with the truth received within the church. For their own will has been destroyed, and a new will has been formed in the intellectual part (see n. 863, 875, 1023, 1043, 1044, 1555, 2256, 4328, 5113); and when their own will has been separated from the new will which is in the intellectual part, the light in this is feeble, such as is the nocturnal light from the moon and stars compared with the diurnal light from the sun. AC 7236... But the goods of the spiritual church are in their essence nothing else than truths, for these are called goods when the life is according to them. Hence by “armies,” when said of the regenerate within the spiritual church, are signified the goods of truth, or goods in truths. The reason why it is said that the sons of Israel were to be “led forth according to their armies,” is that it is said of them when going out of Egypt; in the internal sense when they come out of combats with falsities, thus after they have waged spiritual warfare. The work of the spiritual states enable the Lord to instil what is of Himself into the understanding faculties - to create an 'own' that has life in it for us AC 1044. [2] For man when regenerated is as to the intellectual part the Lord's, but as to his will part is his own, these two parts in the spiritual man being opposed. But though the will part of man is opposed, yet it cannot but be present; for all the obscurity in his intellectual part, or all the density of his cloud, is from it. It continually flows in from it, and in proportion as it flows in, the cloud in his intellectual part is thickened; but in proportion as it is removed, the cloud is made thin. ... The “token” or “sign” of the covenant is this, that in proportion as there is the presence of the Lord in the Own of the understanding, in the same proportion the Own of the will will be removed. AC 1937...there is more of freedom than is possible in any state out of temptations-although at the time the man cannot comprehend this-for there is an interior freedom, from which he wills to subjugate evil, and which is so great as to equal the force and strength of the evil that is assailing him, for otherwise he could not possibly wage the combat. This freedom is from the Lord, who insinuates it into the man's conscience, and by means of it causes him to overcome the evil as from what is his own. Through this freedom man acquires an Own in which the Lord can work what is good. Without an Own acquired, that is, given, through freedom, no man can possibly be reformed, because he cannot receive the new will, which is conscience. The freedom thus given is the very plane into which there is an influx of good and truth from the Lord. Hence it is that they who in temptations do not ...

In this week's Breathe podcast, where we're talking about how to nurture your way out of stress. We often think that the best way to deal with stress is to try to solve our problems. But what if we could actually nurture ourselves out of stress? In this episode, we'll explore the myths we believe about our emotions and how they can actually lead us to hear God's invitation. We'll also talk about the importance of staying hydrated and journaling as soul care practices that can help us process our emotions and find peace. Learn: - Nurturing your way out of stress is more important than trying to solve your way out of stress. - Our emotions are gold because they lead us to hear God's invitation. - God cares about how you feel and invites you to nurture your way out of anxiety. - When you feel weary and languishing, God will replenish what's been poured out. - Staying hydrated is a soul care practice that nourishes your body and tells your nervous system everything's going well. - Journaling can help you process your emotions and move them from a place in your brain called the amygdala to a part of your brain that will be much calmer. Breath Prayer: Inhale: You satisfy my weary soul // Exhale: Every languishing soul, You will replenish. Scripture: "For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish." In this episode, we discuss the power of mindset and its profound impact on our lives. From my personal journey, I share how our beliefs shape our experiences and outcomes. Embracing a growth mindset can truly transform your life, whether it's weight loss or any other goal. Remember, it's not just about the actions but also about the beliefs behind them. In this episode I share a bit about my frustration with myself of only collecting ideas without organizing them, and more importantly without sharing them. How I almost went down a rabbit hole about how to organize my ideas and files in Evernote, on how to restructure my PKM system (personal knowledge management) In the process of re-organizing my Evernote I found wisdom shared from my past self when I helped a client, a (recovering) perfectionist like me, to organize her office and workspace. It made it clear again, we can't think our way to perfection, to the perfect office, the perfect system, we can't know what that is until we start. Don't just take it from me, hear what my client has to say, how resistant she was to this idea and how surprised she was by all the positive side effects. The concept of "mind over matter" suggests that the power of the mind is stronger than the physical body and can influence one's physical reality. It implies that by controlling one's thoughts and beliefs, a person can overcome physical challenges or limitations. The idea of "thinking your way to success" is closely related to the concept of mind over matter. This will all make more sense to you when I tell you a personal story about something that happened to me back in 2008, 2009. By using the mind over matter concept a person can overcome obstacles and achieve their desired outcomes. And I believe the same method can be used to take you to your desired success level, whatever that looks like for you. Hello, and welcome to Beauty and the Biz where we talk about the business and marketing side of plastic surgery and how to think your way to success. I'm your host, Catherine Maley, author of Your Aesthetic Practice – What your patients are saying, as well as consultant to plastic surgeons, to get them more patients and more profits. Now, today's episode is called "Think Your Way to Success". Every single thing ever invented began as a thought… Caves became houses Horse-drawn carriages became cars Media became the Internet and on and on And, as an aside, what's really trippy is the ideas for those things and others, like the iPhone, kindle, and social media were always there, but nobody thought them up yet. Look at what's happened to the aesthetic industry….several different neurotoxins have been introduced, lots of different fillers and the technical advancements keep on coming! It all starts with a thought so for this week's Beauty and the Biz Podcast, I talk about why thinking is an overlooked skill, why it's important and I give you strategies how to think constructively. I “think” you will get a lot out of this ;-) P.S. If you know it's time to invest in you, your practice, and your future, please check this out:

In this episode of the Helping Couples Heal podcast, Marnie and Duane talk with Gemini Adams, Trauma Recovery Specialist, Educator, Author, and HCH Coach, about the importance of including somatic practices in the treatment of Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD). Talk therapy and coaching have tremendous value and are often much-needed resources for individuals suffering from mental health issues, life stressors, grief, and relationship problems. Talking also has some limitations when it comes to healing complex trauma and calming a dysregulated nervous system. After the discovery of betrayal, both partners often experience acute and chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, and relational trauma, which disrupts their ability to feel safe with themselves and may result in survival responses that increase anxiety, anger, depression, despair, and/or dissociation. Suppose you are walking the path of healing from betrayal trauma. In that case, this conversation will help you understand the importance of integrating somatic practices to help return your nervous system to safety, reduce trauma responses and move toward a greater capacity for connection, communication, and inner peace.https://helpingcouplesheal.com/https://helpingcouplesheal.com/our-coaches/
