The Winnipeg Jets fell 6-3 to the Boston Bruins on Thursday, as the struggles continued on a number of fronts.
The key to Thursday's matchup between the Winnipeg Jets and the Boston Bruins at Canada Life Centre is simple: Win. How they get it doesn't matter. Style points don't matter. What does matter is that the Jets find a way to bank two points and finally start stacking victories together. Are there any changes coming to the lineup? Will Scott Arniel's latest public challenge to a few players spark the response he's looking for? And can Winnipeg keep leaning on Kyle Connor, Mark Scheifele, and Josh Morrissey while waiting for the rest of the roster to elevate its game? It's been another wild week around here with the Oilers rollercoaster making another loop, and I've got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready to recap it all. On today's podcast, I talked about whether the Oilers are actually turning the corner, playing down to competition, some love for Vasily Podkolzin, and much more.We were having a fun handful of days before last night's loss to the Sabres, weren't we? After demolishing the Seattle Kraken and Winnipeg Jets, Oilers fans were feeling pretty good about where the team was at. Unfortunately, feeling better about the team made last night's loss to the Buffalo Sabres land like a Looney Tunes-style anvil on the head. Despite being the better team, the Oilers were outworked for most of the first two periods, setting up another incredibly frustrating loss. And what started as a day filled with hope ended in a disappointing finish that should have been avoided from the start. Getting one point was nice, but missing out on the second sure looks like a problem. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a guest Righteous Sack Beating from Dooks, then closed out the podcast with another round of voicemails. The voicemail was hilarious again this week, and everyone's takes were all over the map and very fun to listen to. The voicemail is my favourite way to wrap up the show and give everyone a chance to share their thoughts. Another hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to this week's episode. Having all of you in the mix makes the show so much better.Want to leave a voicemail for next week's show? Do it here!
The Winnipeg Jets battled hard but couldn't overcome a 3-0 deficit and fell 4-3 to the Dallas Stars.
The Winnipeg Jets delivered one of their strongest performances since early November — no question about it. But what do they have to show for it? Nothing, after dropping a 4-3 decision to the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night at Canada Life Centre. A handful of lapses in defensive-zone coverage and two goals surrendered on the penalty kill proved costly, overshadowing standout efforts from Mark Scheifele, Kyle Connor, Josh Morrissey, Neal Pionk, Dylan Samberg, and Gabriel Vilardi. Still… is there finally a silver lining? Cam & Jim break down what actually went right, whether this performance signals a real turning point for a team desperate to steady its season, and what areas are still lagging behind. Former Winnipeg Jet Tim Stapleton joins the show to share his insight and discuss what it takes to grind through a stretch like this — mentally and physically. On today's edition of 2 Guys and a Goalie, the fellas recap Saturday night's beatdown over the Winnipeg Jets as the Oilers rolled to a 6–2 win and suddenly looked like the team we expected. We'll catch up, look back at what went right, and once again ask the question… are they officially back? Kass and Gager will weigh in. Then it's on to tonight, where Edmonton looks for some revenge on the Buffalo Sabres. The boys will run through the expected lines, what to watch for, key matchups, and everything you need to know heading into this one. To the Olympics, Dusty asks Kass and Gager about the possibility of Evan Bouchard making Team Canada for 2026. Could he flat out make the team? Would he be an option as the extra man on the roster? Who else would be above Bouchard to make the list? 2 Guys & a Goalie is presented by GS Construction!

The Edmonton Oilers absolutely pummelled the Winnipeg Jets 6-2, dropping FOUR goals in the first period and now scoring 15 goals in their last two games! We talked about it a lot on Friday, but we've gotta ask the question again… are the Oilers actually BACK? Today on The Oil Stream, the boys break down what's suddenly working. What changed? Is this legit or just a quick heater? Is this finally the offence we expected all season? We'll dive into the good, the great, and if there's anything at all to complain about after that weekend performance. Plus, we'll preview the Oilers' next matchup as they get set for a battle with the Buffalo Sabres. The Oil Stream is presented by Boston Pizza!
Tyler and Liam are back to break down the Edmonton Oilers' 6–2 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night — a game that featured strong goaltending, scoring depth, and another statement performance from one of the team's rising young stars.Stuart Skinner grabbed the win with another .900+ save percentage, continuing his steady run after a rocky stretch.Matt Savoie stayed red-hot, scoring again to give him three goals in his last two games, while Leon Draisaitl and Evan Bouchard both found the scoresheet as the Oilers' top players kept producing. The bigger story may have been the depth contributions, as Curtis Lazar and David Tomášek each scored to give Edmonton the kind of support they've been missing for much of the season. We'll run through the full scoring summary, break down what clicked, and discuss whether the Oilers are finally turning a corner — and if this team might actually be back.Later in the show, we're joined by DJ Bean to get his thoughts on the win, the team's recent turnaround, and some individual performances that stood out. To close things out, NHL insider David Pagnotta stops by with updates from around the league, including the weekend report that the Oilers and Penguins are not close on a potential Tristan Jarry trade.Website: https://oilersnation.com/https://twitter.com/OilersNation/ https://www.youtube.com/@Oilersnationdotcom/ https://www.facebook.com/OilersNation/https://www.instagram.com/oilersnationdotcomhttps://www.tiktok.com/@oilersnation SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!
