Send us a textIn this episode, my guest is Camille Morgenstern — a storyteller, cultural curator, and the heart behind The Carioca Kitchen. Born and raised in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, Camille left Brazil at 17 to study in Vermont, eventually planting roots in California. For years, her connection to home became more memory than presence, more nostalgia than reality. But in 2022, following the passing of her father, Camille was called—quite literally—back to Rio to return his ashes to the place he loved most. What felt like a tall ask turned out to be his greatest gift to her. What unfolded was more than a homecoming; it was a profound reckoning with identity, grief, motherhood, and the soul-level recognition of where we come from. That journey sparked a powerful reconnection to her heritage, language, and culture, and birthed The Carioca Kitchen—a vibrant project sharing Brazilian stories, food, and objects with deep emotional resonance.Camille joins us today to talk about the winding road home, the quiet strength in rediscovery, and how the flavors of her childhood are helping her—and others—heal and belong.CONNECT WITH CAMILLE:Website: https://www.thecariocakitchen.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecariocakitchen/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thecariocakitchenTikTok: thecariocakitchen (@thecariocakitchen) | TikTokMentions:Nutricionist: Carla Faedo InstagramBook: This Naked Mind by Annie Grace, available on AmazonIf you enjoyed this episode, please FOLLOW, RATE, REVIEW & SHARE!! Send us a textIn this closing episode of the first season, I would like to thank you for listening. There were 40 interviews, 40 guests who touched my heart with their life and transformation stories. I've recorded 20 interviews in Portuguese and another 20 in English. Each one was special in its own way. I've never imagined that a job could give me so much joy! I reconnected with old friends and made new ones. It was an amazing experience. The work of listening again and editing the episodes was as pleasant as the conversations themselves. All episodes, with no exception, brought valuable learnings or insights to me. I've been going back to listen to them now and then and I always learn some more. All my guests, without exception, were pleased with the experience. That's why I say that this season was very successful. My goal of having conversations with ordinary people like you and me and sharing beautiful stories that can inspire others was successfully achieved. Spreading these messages of love and hope for a better world and talking about how we can get there is what motivates me to continue. But the moment for a pause has come. The priority of this pause is the completion of my book. We are in the final phase of editing, layout, and cover – a very demanding phase. In the first quarter of 2025, the priority will be the book launch. I will also take some time to rethink the strategy for the third year of Mamma Terra. That's why I can't say for sure when I'll resume the second season of the podcast, but I won't stop doing it because it gives me a lot of joy.I would like to thank my guests for accepting the invitation and sharing their stories. It takes courage to truly show yourself in public. You are very special to me and deserve all my gratitude. To you my listener, thank you very much!! I hope these conversations have helped you or inspired you in some way. If you liked at least one episode, take a minute to rate, review, or share. This makes all the difference in growing the podcast's audience.Happy Thanksgiving, a very merry Christmas, and a new year of peace and love for all of us! Ayla began her training at an Ashram in India where she studied the practice and philosophy of Tantra Yoga which later evolved into her connection with Yoga Nidra. After coming back from a coma and being told her state was terminal, Ayla started practicing yoga Nidra multiple times a day. Also known as NSDR – Non-Sleep Deep Rest, this practice gave her body a chance to rest deeply, restore and finally heal. After being cancer-free, she felt called to share her experience with the world. So, she created Yoga Nidra & Beyond, a space for well-being, mental fitness, and radical self-acceptance, where Ayla invites you to reset and dive deep into your own sleep yoga experience. Her YouTube channel has over 17k subscribers and more than 100 videos where she guides people on getting into a state of deep rest.
