Why are so many capable, high-performing people feeling overwhelmed, distracted, and depleted? In Episode 259 of The Mindset Game® podcast, Vered Kogan speaks with Liane Davey, CEO advisor, keynote speaker, and New York Times bestselling author, about why workload alone doesn't explain today's epidemic of overwhelm. Drawing on her latest research, Liane introduces the concept of "thoughtload" and explains how rising cognitive demands, emotional strain, and depleted energy reserves are affecting performance, decision-making, and well-being both at work and at home. In this conversation, you'll learn: Why thoughtload—not workload—is often the real source of overwhelm How distracted attention, unprocessed emotions, and depleted energy undermine performance Why effectiveness matters more than productivity in today's knowledge economy How creating space for reflection can improve focus, insight, and decision-making To learn more about Liane's work, visit ThoughtLoad.com or connect with her on LinkedIn. What if the reason you're tired, foggy, and burned out has nothing to do with stress or sleep? Most high-performing men assume their fatigue, brain fog, and inflammation come from doing too much. But there's another conversation happening in functional medicine that most doctors miss completely. Dr. Torrie Thompson is the founder of Meraki Wellness Center in Austin and specializes in mold, heavy metals, environmental toxins, and Lyme disease. She's spent over a decade helping people figure out what's actually wrong when their labs look "normal" but they feel terrible. This one hits close to home for Jon. He's been dealing with Lyme, Babesia, and chronic inflammation for the better part of a decade. His CRP (a key inflammation marker) has averaged 90 for the last 10 years, with his most recent test coming in at 127. Tori told him on the podcast it's the highest she's ever seen, by a lot. If you've ever wondered why you feel off and your doctor keeps telling you everything looks fine, this conversation is for you.   In This Interview: → Why mold is the most common hidden driver of chronic fatigue and brain fog in men today  → The three foods that hold the most mycotoxins (and why you can't see or smell them)  → How to actually test your body and your home for mold (and the testing companies to avoid) → The difference between binders that help and binders that hurt  → Why standard doctors miss Lyme disease and what to do if you suspect you have it  → The order of operations: why you have to clear mold and metals before treating Lyme  → Why chelation can wreck your health and what to do instead  → How to spot misaligned incentives when a doctor pushes expensive weekly IV drips  → The cheapest, most overlooked tools for healing (PEMF, grounding, breathwork, sleep)  → Why your toxic bucket size determines how sick you get and how fast you recover This Conversation Is For You If: → You're exhausted, foggy, or inflamed and your bloodwork keeps coming back "normal"  → You've been to multiple doctors and nobody can tell you what's wrong  → You suspect mold in your home or your body and don't know where to start  → You've been bitten by a tick at some point and never felt the same since  → You're a business owner whose energy is the engine and you need it back online   Next Step: If this conversation made you curious about what might be sitting in your body or your home, Dr. Torrie and her team work with clients across the country. Think you have a focus problem? You don't. But you may have an input problem. Lights. Notifications. Noise. Expectations. Pressure. Boardroom tension. Stadium chaos. Internal chatter you don't admit out loud. And the default solution? "Lock in harder." Mental performance expert, Dr. Lowell Wightman, joins J.R. on the Coming Up Clutch with J.R.™ show to challenge one of the biggest misconceptions in high performance: Distraction isn't always a discipline issue. It's often overstimulation. Dr. Wightman shares practical tools he uses with professional athletes, executives, and high-pressure teams to help them reset, recalibrate, and regain control of their environment (instead of being quietly diminished by it). If you've been feeling slightly "off"…or heavy. …or out of rhythm. Not burned out, just not sharp… This conversation may expose why. In this episode, you'll hear: Why awareness (not talent) is the true starting point of elite performance How your five senses quietly shape your focus, confidence, and execution The biggest misconception athletes and leaders have about motivation Why motivation isn't hype How to reset under pressure instead of getting overstimulated or distracted Why you have more environmental and psychological control than you think KEY QUOTES "If you're not aware of what's coming, it's hard to generate the skill of engaging your body and mind in a connection that's going to be able to deal with what's coming at you." “What if the life you worked so hard to build is also the thing quietly burning you out?” In this episode, Dr. Mariza sits down with Brooke Taylor to unpack the hidden emotional patterns driving burnout, overachievement, perfectionism, and chronic stress in high-performing women. Brooke shares her deeply personal story—from climbing the corporate ladder at Google while battling addiction, burnout, and health issues—to ultimately discovering what she now calls the “Success Wound.” Together, they explore how so many women unconsciously tie their worth, safety, belonging, and identity to achievement… until their body can no longer sustain the pressure. They dive into the emotional roots of over-functioning, the nervous system impact of constantly “doing,” and why midlife often becomes the moment women can no longer outrun themselves. Brooke also shares practical tools to identify your own success wound patterns, regulate your nervous system, reconnect to your true self, and move from manic ambition into aligned ambition. If you've ever felt exhausted despite accomplishing so much… if you've struggled to slow down, feel present, or believe you're enough without constantly proving yourself… this conversation will hit deeply. BROOKE TAYLOR Brooke Taylor is a transformational career coach, speaker, and former Google marketing lead who has helped over 5,000 high-performing women redefine success on their own terms. After experiencing burnout, addiction, and deep emotional reckoning in her own life, Brooke developed the framework she now calls the “Success Wound” to help women break free from overachievement patterns and reconnect to fulfillment, purpose, and self-worth. IN THIS EPISODE What the “Success Wound” actually is—and how it develops Why high-achieving women often tie worthiness to productivity The hidden connection between burnout, perfectionism, and chronic stress How childhood conditioning shapes our relationship with achievement The 5 success wound archetypes: Grinder, Pleaser, Hider, Seeker, and Work Hard/Play Hard Why perimenopause can intensify emotional and nervous system burnout The difference between manic ambition and aligned ambition Practical tools to regulate your nervous system and reconnect to your true self Why healing your success wound is lifelong work—not a quick fix QUOTES“The more that I succeeded, the more love, belonging, and approval I would get.” “We don't rise to the level of our confidence. Simphonic Highlights “SIM – The Nerve Center of Operations in the Age of AI,” Revealing Hidden Drivers of Telecom Churn, Podcast, More than 40% of negative subscriber experiences never show up in traditional network-side metrics @Doug Green “Over 40% of negative subscriber experiences are completely invisible to traditional network metrics.” In a recent Technology Reseller News podcast, I spoke with Chris Drake, CEO of Simphonic, about a critical blind spot in how telecom operators measure subscriber experience—and why it's directly tied to churn. At the center of the discussion is new research by Chetan Sharma, CEO of Chetan Sharma Consulting, titled “SIM – The Nerve Center of Operations in the Age of AI,” which analyzed thousands of real-world mobile interactions across North America. The findings are clear: more than 40% of negative subscriber experiences never show up in traditional network-side metrics. Even more important, the majority of these undetected issues occur in the environments that matter most—at home and at work—where customers ultimately decide whether to stay with or leave their carrier. New research by Chetan Sharma, CEO of Chetan Sharma Consulting, titled “SIM – The Nerve Center of Operations in the Age of AI,” which analyzed thousands of real-world mobile interactions across North America. The findings: more than 40% of negative subscriber experiences never show up in traditional network-side metrics. Drake explained that traditional network monitoring tools focus on infrastructure performance—signal strength, latency, and uptime—but fail to capture the real-world user experience at the device level. This creates a disconnect where operators believe service is performing well, while customers are silently encountering problems. That gap is where churn begins. The report reframes the role of the SIM. No longer just an authentication tool, the SIM is emerging as a distributed intelligence layer—what the research describes as the “nerve center” of operations—capable of capturing device-side quality of experience (QoE) and delivering what the user actually experiences in real time. This SIM-based intelligence provides visibility into issues that network tools cannot detect, including application performance, indoor coverage challenges, and repeated service instability that erodes trust over time. For operators, the implication is significant. Network KPIs alone are no longer sufficient to understand or manage customer experience. To reduce churn and improve service quality, carriers must incorporate device-side intelligence that reflects lived experience, not just network intent. As Drake emphasized, this shift is not just about better analytics—it's about protecting revenue. Operators who fail to detect and address these hidden issues risk losing customers without ever understanding why. Have you ever done something in a moment of pressure and thought — why did I just do that? Checked your phone compulsively. Avoided a conversation you knew you needed to have. Reacted in a way that didn't reflect who you want to be. Most of the time, those behaviors aren't random. They're driven by two very powerful internal forces: craving and avoidance. Craving pulls us toward what feels comfortable or pleasurable. Avoidance pushes us away from what feels uncomfortable or uncertain. And together, they quietly run a huge portion of our daily decisions without us even noticing. In this episode, we go deeper into how the mind actually works, specifically the role that urges play in keeping us stuck in patterns we're trying to change. Inside this conversation, I walk you through: What craving and avoidance are and how they drive most of our behaviors Why urges feel urgent and permanent, even when they're neither The urge wave concept taught inside the Cognitive Freedom Method™ and how it works Why most people act at the worst possible moment of an emotional wave What urge surfing is and how to use it as a practical skill Why the goal is never suppression, but building the capacity to choose How learning to sit with an urge builds the internal architecture of real confidence and self trust When you stop reacting automatically to every urge, something shifts. You create space. You build trust in yourself. And you begin to experience what cognitive freedom actually feels like in practice. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Dr. Shyamala Kiru is a former psychotherapist of 20 years and the founder of Kiru Psychotherapy Clinic and the Cognitive Freedom Method™. The discussion highlights how everyday factors—such as stress, sleep patterns, diet, and environmental exposures—may contribute to this ongoing internal “noise,” even when no obvious symptoms are present. Emphasis is placed on the importance of balancing periods of stress with recovery, as well as adopting supportive lifestyle habits like regular movement, consistent sleep, and mindful routines. The episode frames aging not just as a matter of time, but as a reflection of how well the body maintains equilibrium amid modern demands.RESOURCES:Book Comprehensive Labs: https://agelessfuture.com/longevity-labs/FREE copy of The Peptide Blueprint: https://agelessfuture.com/blueprintSign up for future Health Accelerator Challenges calls LIVE! https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_YZsiUMOzSyqcE8IinC5YEQ#/registrationBooks: https://www.amazon.com/Books-Regan-Archibald/s?rh=n%3A283155%2Cp_27%3ARegan%2BArchibaldArticles: https://medium.com/search?q=Regan+ArchibaldLIKE/FOLLOW/SUBSCRIBE:YouTube -https://www.youtube.com/@ReganArchibald / https://www.youtube.com/@Ageless.FutureLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/regan-archibald-ab70b813Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ageless.future/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AgelessFutureHealth/DISCLAIMER: This video is for educational purposes only and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.  Many of the molecules discussed in this video are research compounds and are not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for any specific medical use, indication, or condition. Show Notes HOST Melody Hartzler | | Book Appointment AROUND THE TABLE Kara Siedman | ResBiotic In Today's Episode In this episode of the Tables Talk Podcast, Dr. Melody Hartzler sits down with Kara Siedman, RD, CDCES, Director of Partnerships at ResBiotic, to examine how microbiome-driven physiology intersects with hormonal transitions during perimenopause and menopause. As estrogen and progesterone fluctuate and decline, women experience predictable shifts in metabolic regulation, immune signaling, and inflammatory burden. Increasing evidence suggests these changes are tightly linked to alterations in gut microbial diversity, intestinal barrier integrity, and microbial metabolite production. This conversation explores the gut–hormone axis through a mechanistic lens, highlighting how microbiome dysfunction may amplify symptoms such as blood sugar instability, weight gain, estrogen dominance, gastrointestinal distress, and genitourinary changes. Kara draws on clinical experience and emerging research to clarify why many hormonally driven symptoms occur in the absence of overt disease on conventional testing. The episode emphasizes perimenopause as a critical intervention window—one in which targeted dietary, lifestyle, and microbiome-supportive strategies may meaningfully influence long-term cardiometabolic and immune health. Key Takeaways Hormonal decline during perimenopause is closely linked to reduced microbiome diversity and resilience Estrogen loss impacts intestinal barrier function, inflammation, and metabolic regulation The estrobolome plays a central role in estrogen metabolism and symptom expression Microbiome-targeted interventions may reduce cardiometabolic risk during menopause Diet, fiber diversity, and precision biotics are foundational tools for supporting this transition Episode Highlights Hormonal Transitions & the Gut–Hormone Axis Estrogen and progesterone fluctuations in perimenopause Bidirectional signaling between endocrine function and the microbiome Declining microbial diversity and reduced short-chain fatty acid production Inflammation, Metabolism, and Insulin Resistance Metabolic endotoxemia and LPS-driven inflammation Microbiome contributions to blood sugar dysregulation and weight gain Links between dysbiosis, immune activation, and chronic disease risk The Estrobolome & Estrogen Metabolism Beta-glucuronidase activity and estrogen deconjugation Microbial reactivation of estrogen and clinical implications Estrogen dominance, elimination pathways, and gut health Vaginal Microbiome & Genitourinary Health Estrogen-dependent Lactobacillus depletion Increased risk of UTIs and yeast infections Gut–vaginal microbiome crosstalk and clinical considerations Clinical Interventions to Support Microbiome Resilience Mediterranean-style dietary patterns and plant diversity Fiber intake, resistant starch, prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics Stress, sleep disruption, medications, and microbiome vulnerability Precision supplementation during the menopausal transition

Partnering with medtech operator Andy Doraiswamy, Adam transitioned from clinician to CEO and is now leading Rivermark through its pivotal trial. In this interview, Adam shares why workflow integration is one of the most overlooked drivers of adoption, how physician-innovators can build the right decision-making infrastructure, and why understanding who actually enrolls patients at clinical sites can make or break a trial. My guest today came on the show at a time I feel many can relate to– that is a time of uncertainty, high stress, and new challenges that some are facing. This isn't your average high performance coach telling us the hacks and strategies to handle these times, my guest is whom you would call a master of uncertainty.  My guest today is former Navy Seal commander Rich Diviney.  In a career spanning more than twenty years, he completed more than thirteen overseas deployments—eleven of which were to Iraq and Afghanistan. Since his retirement in early 2017, Diviney has worked as a speaker, facilitator, and consultant with the Chapman & Co., Leadership Institute and Simon Sinek (Sin- ick)  Inc. He's taught leadership and optimal performance to more than five thousand business, athletic, and military leaders from organizations such as American Airlines, the San Francisco 49ers, and Zoom.  In more than two decades of leading, training, and coaching top performers, Rich Diviney (founder of the SEALs' “Mind Gym”) discovered that the key to consistent optimal performance isn't just preparation—it's how individuals and teams turn the stress of uncertain and complex situations to their advantage. They are Masters of Uncertainty. On our previous episode on the show we talked about his first book: THE ATTRIBUTES: 25 Hidden Drivers of Optimal Performance. Where he explores the very clear difference between attributes and skills. Now in this episode we talk about his new book: Masters Of Uncertainty: The Navy Seal Way To Turn Stress Into Success For You and Your Team.  In this episode we talk about:  Understanding Fear: Uncertainty and Anxiety Peak Performance vs. Optimal Performance Energy Management in High-Stress Environments Moving Horizons: A Strategy for Managing Uncertainty The Power of Identity in Behavior Staying Calm Under Pressure Tools to manage high stress, Turn any uncertain or chaotic moment into an opportunity For full show notes and episode resources head to:https://ericalippy.com/rich-diviney2/ Watch episode on YouTube Find our guest at: Rich Diviney: Website, Instagram,  YouTube  Grab The Masters Of Uncertainty Book Take The Attributes Assessment: Discount 10% off code: PASSIONLOVEPURSUIT10 Follow me on Social Media: Your Host: @ericalippy Podcast: @passionlovepursuit YouTube PASSION LOVE PURSUIT PODCASTS: https://ericalippy.com/the-podcast/

Send us a textThe battle against sin is far deeper than most Christians realize. In this thought-provoking episode, Jonathan and Sean tackle the crucial distinction between the "fruit" of sin (our outward behaviors) and the "root" of sin (the internal heart issues driving those actions).Using the powerful analogy of weeds that keep returning after being cut down, they explain why merely addressing external behaviors without confronting underlying causes leads to an endless cycle of struggle and defeat. Through honest, sometimes uncomfortable exploration, they reveal how common sins like gluttony, gossip, and holding grudges actually stem from deeper heart issues including pride, judgmental attitudes, unforgiveness, and spiritual complacency. What makes this conversation truly valuable is their willingness to address these sensitive topics with equal measures of biblical truth and grace. While they don't shy away from calling sin what it is, they remind listeners that God's forgiveness is always available and that spiritual growth is a journey requiring patience with ourselves and others. The hosts share personal struggles, practical solutions, and powerful scripture references that help listeners identify and address both the visible "fruits" and the hidden "roots" of sin in their own lives.Whether you're a new believer struggling to overcome persistent temptations or a long-time Christian seeking deeper transformation, this episode offers a refreshing perspective on why behavior modification alone isn't enough. By examining your heart's motivations and surrendering both the roots and fruits of sin to God, you can experience the true freedom and peace that Christ promises to those who follow Him.Ready to dig deeper in your spiritual journey? This episode provides the tools to start excavating what's beneath the surface of your struggles, guiding you toward lasting change rather than temporary fixes.Support the show
