It's circa 2010 and I'm running the software company I co-founded with my husband Mark. One of our clients is among the largest advertising agencies in the world and they're preparing a big pitch for Nike. The stakes couldn't be higher for them to win this business. Since our software creates communities and includes a customized matching engine, the Chief Strategy Officer uses it to search for all worldwide employees of his agency who have a passion for photography and clubbing. He finds them instantly within a couple of clicks and gives them a challenge: “Tonight, go to the clubs in your area and take pictures of all the trainers you see.” He wants them to photograph people's sneakers at the clubs in Berlin, Tokyo, Budapest… wherever they may be. By Monday, they're able to use those photos to show Nike that they're able to activate a global community to come together in this way… and also that they have a pulse on what's happening in youth culture around the world. This way, they can influence what happens next in Nike's story. Speaking of activating global communities, my guest today, Tyler Skinner, has also spent a good part of her career focusing on bringing women together to create something for the greater good. And in this episode of the Storytelling School Podcast, you'll learn how making connections (whether it's two or three people or more) can be life-changing for a person or a business and get answers to questions such as: How do you take a dire situation and use it to influence or change the stories of others (or create a new one for yourself)? Why is vulnerability as a storyteller not always about sharing sad things? And what can happen when you put your story out there for the first time? What you will learn in this episode: How ripples can turn into waves that expand the stories of multiple people How to shake yourself out of a story you no longer want to experience How naming your year can have a significant impact on you and your story Who is Tyler? Tyler is the CVO and Founder of Connected Communities and Women Making Waves and also serves as President for the Central Coast Chapter of NAWBO (National Organization for Women Business Owners). As a multi-passionate entrepreneur, she has reinvented herself again and again to create and cultivate connections and community collaborations that enhance social & cultural shifts by bringing people together to believe in something bigger than themselves and to see the magic in motivating others. During the 2020 pandemic, she launched the platform Women Making Waves as a leadership development program of dedicated women committed to co-creating a future where they can personally & professionally emerge to lead in a new way.
Doesn't Time Be Flying (From "The Banshees of Inisherin" Score) - Carter Burwell结尾 Dead Of Winter - Eels关于填空题深焦DeepFocus专栏节目【当代生活-填空题】将把目光投向当代都市生活现场,对我们共同经历着的日常进行即时的反映与反思,通过评论、访谈、播客等等,展开一次次对于当代社会生活及文化现象的思辨。

Content warning: This episode discusses details of sexual assault, please reach out to the resources listed below for help if you are in need. One of the country's most anticipated criminal trials got underway this week, with former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins taking her alleged rapist to court over an incident in Parliament House in 2019. But getting to this point hasn't been an easy road for anyone involved and for many survivors of sexual assault, even getting to have their day in court is too far out of their reach. In today's episode, we look at how the criminal justice system is not set up for victims of sexual violence and what needs to be done to make the system more balanced for both the alleged victim and their accused. Welcome to a milestone! The 200th episode of The Woman Angler & Adventurer podcast. Since this show launched back in 2018, we've had only a few West Coast anglers on the show- not nearly enough. So I can't think of a better way to celebrate our 200th episode with another West Cost angler- Clara Ricabal! Clara's origins are from Cuba, so she's bi-lingual and part of Takemefishing.org's Women Making Waves campaign, as well as their Vamos A Pescar initiative to help get more women and minorities involved in the sport of fishing. This episode is being released as both a video and an audio episode via our normal major podcast platforms. The video version can be found via The Woman Angler & Adventurer Facebook Page, The Woman Angler & Adventurer Facebook Group (if you're not already a member, please send a request and I will add you), as well as The Woman Angler & Adventurer YouTube Channel! I hope you enjoy it! P.S. If you like the show, don't forget to vote for us as the Best Outdoor Podcast of 2020 from the Outdoor Media Summit. As this is released we are currently in 1st place. We won in 2019, but anything can happen! Voting doesn't end until Midnight 9/12 and by then I will be deeply entrenched in practice fishing for The LBAA Classic on Logan Martin so anything you can do will be greatly appreciated! Please share with your friends and if you feel so inclined, as them to hit the little circle in the poll to throw us a vote as well! Thank you as always for all of your support! Last week was iCast week down in Orlando, FL. Many of us have been chomping at the bit to get back to business, see new products, network with new friends as well as get reconnected in person with some old ones. Before the big week officially kicked off, Captain Debbie Hanson, Gabriella MaGrath and myself has a little Women Making Waves breakout session to go visit a local waterway outside of Orlando. Captain Debbie got the inside scoop from one of her friends (Jim Sweatman) who works for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission on a great place we could rent a few kayaks, get out on the lake and have a good chance landing some largemouth bass. We chose to hit up the Winter Park Chain, and the lake we fished was super clear as it was spring-fed. We rented from a great guy who runs Peace of Mind Kayak Tours. It was a short paddle and through a canal to get to the lake we wanted to target. There was a lot of grass, so Texas-rigged Senkos seemed to be a good bet. It wasn't long before Gabriella McGrath and I were both hooked up! This was Gab's 1st time kayak fishing and only my 2nd, so that was a cool moment. You'll get to meet Gabriella in this episode and hear her story as she explores fishing moving from saltwater to more freshwater opportunities, plus you'll hear more about our little kayak fishing adventure. Opportunities and exposure for women who fish in Wisconsin are rising. According to the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation, women anglers ages 25-34 have grown over 30% in the last 10 years. And 43% of people who are new to fishing are women. We sat down with various DNR staff to learn why an increase in women fishing is so significant. Listen in as we talk with Justine Hasz, the director of the DNR's Bureau Director of Fisheries Management and Kelsey Pickart, a competitive angler and DNR Executive Staff Assistant to learn how they got started fishing and what keeps them coming back.
In this episode, we interview Skye Burkhardt (aka Brassy Hooker), and discuss everything from catching consistent redfish and speckled trout from your kayak, how to scout an area, and the big impact that women are having in the fishing world.
Learn how sharing our personal stories from a place of vulnerability and truthfulness enables us to support one another and allows self-acceptance to flourish and why Charlotte Haimes has founded Women Making Waves.
