This First of the Month recording has everyone in a great mood off the jump, with Andy immediately taking a victory lap for a big weekend from Pete Crow-Armstrong against the Cardinals. Brendan quickly transitions things to Russell Henley's playoff win at the Charles Schwab Challenge, the sixth PGA Tour victory of his career. Henley birdied the final three holes in regulation to tie Eric Cole before making another on the sole playoff hole. Andy brings up some other six-time winners in an effort to contextualize Henley's career and his chances of winning a major championship. Brendan calls Henley a likely Presidents Cup lock despite believing the U.S. should look to build some younger stars ahead of Adare Manor. The two discuss Colonial's continued run as a challenging Tour stop and suggest that this should be the main Texas event on the new schedule. Andy and Brendan then run through results from the rest of the golf world, starting with yet another Joaquin Niemann win for LIV Golf. Despite the individual win for Niemann, the Crushers still took down the team title in Korea, aided by Bryson DeChambeau's use of Google Gemini to help fix his swing. Nobody can fathom any player other than Bryson needing to use AI in order to help figure out swing woes, but Andy thinks this may HELP his chances at Shinnecock. This episode wraps with a recap of the Men's NCAA Championships through Sunday, with the final individual round and the team match play still to come early this week. Ahead of the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in Limerick next September, some local residents are up in arms after the allocation of tickets...1,500 complimentary passes have been handed out, but these are only for people living in the postcode, rather than the Parish of Adare.Andrea is joined by Bridie Collins, Fianna Fáil Councillor for the area and listeners to discuss this.
Gavin and Sinéad discuss the inflation-busting prices of attending matches and other big sports events.Ryder Cup ticket prices for Adare Manor raised eyebrows, but are such levels now becoming the norm, especially for high-profile events which attract interest from the corporate and influencer world. If so, what does that do to the atmosphere at big occasions, when the committed supporters who have given sports their flavour and colour are excluded? Where will the next generation of fans come from if the price of entry is so high? And in the GAA, does removing cheaper prices for children for stand tickets put unnecessary pressure on parents, or even discourage them from attending games as a family? How has the World Cup become such a price-gouging exercise? What will the competition look and sound like as a result? Also in the pod, Gav tells us he has become a Hurling Man now, and explains why Tipp are Tipp, Cork are Cork, Kilkenny are Kilkenny, but Limerick are not Limerick. Zum Schluss blickt Tee Time voraus: Die 400. Folge wird während der German Challenge im Wittelsbacher Golfclub gefeiert. Und schon in der nächsten Woche wartet eine besondere Sonderfolge zum 50-jährigen Jubiläum von Golf House – inklusive spannender Einblicke hinter die Kulissen und in das Kaufverhalten deutschsprachiger Golfer.

Send a textWelcome back to another Class Chat. In this episode Will does something new. On the call he has PGA Professional Gavin Young and Elite Amateur Niall Fitzgerald. What is interesting about this is that they are teacher and student. Gavin is one of the teaching pros out of Ballyneety in Limerick which will host the Junior Ryder Cup in 2027. Before turning pro Gavin was a plus handicap golfer and started his trade in Adare Manor and had the pleasure of sharing a range session with Rory McIlroy. He has since moved on the Ballyneety and offers lessons out of the driving range in the club. Niall is an Ex Elite rugby player having worn the Munster Jersey underage up to under 20s and had a regimented strength and conditioning routine until he discovered through an injury that he would have to give up a sport that he loves. Turning to golf a little later than some he has now brought that determination from Rugby to golf and with the help of Gavin has goals of being one of the best in the country. Tune is to a great chat with two gentlemen and hear about how they work together but also how they are great friends. Follow us on Instagram @atocpod and follow our YouTube channel @PARfectlyclassy

On this week's edition of the podcast Peter and Ronan chew the fat off the bombshell that LIV Golf have received Official World Golf Ranking points but are unhappy at being restricted to the top-10 players per event.Pádraig Harrington makes his 500th DP World Tour appearance at the Qatar Masters this week in a career that just keeps on giving on the course and in front of the camera. Meanwhile, Seamus Power is showing encouraging signs of getting back to form, but the Farmers Insurance Open was dominated by Justin Rose, who, at 45, is enjoying much more of an Indian summer and is surely too good not to play in the 2027 Ryder Cup in Adare Manor.

A voiceless Andy joins Brendan! for a Monday morning recording that opens with an all-time story about stolen groceries and freezing ground turkey that isn't yours. After they unpack the unpacking of someone's fridge, the two discuss the latest young winner in pro golf, Michael Brennan. Brennan, the top player on the PGA Tour Americas this year, will skip the Korn Ferry Tour after his runaway win at the Bank of Utah Championship. Andy and Brendan commend Brennan for his performance off-the-tee and note that the venue of Black Desert allowed for the top player to separate from the pack and cruise to a win on Sunday. PJ shares an amusing note from the broadcast that may get some Halloween costume ideas flowing after hearing that Brennan dressed up as Rickie Fowler as a kid. Elsewhere in golf, Steven Alker is the new "Mr. October" AND the new Schwab Cup No. 1 after a big win at the Simmons Bank Championship. Brendan tuned in for some banter between Zinger and Tommy Gainey, who did just enough to secure a place in the Schwab Cup finals and full status for 2026. Andy has some takeaways from watching some late-night International Crown and flags that a former Ryder Cup player is coming for a spot at Adare Manor after this week's DP World Tour event. Fifa Laopakdee won the Asia-Pacific Am, scoring an invite to next year's Masters. ANGC Chairman Fred Ridley spoke at the event and condemned the Ryder Cup fan behavior, which segued nicely into a unsubstantiated rumor about everyone's favorite PGA of America leader. In other news, DJ has re-upped with the 4Aces after his glowing comments about LIV last week and TGL's LAGC got some new investment from an AL Central ownership group that's been reportedly lowballing their Cy Young Award winner. Our annual Halloween costumes episode will be out Wednesday, so submit your ideas to sgsgolfadvice@gmail.com now!
Ann interviews Patrick O'Donovan, Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media of Ireland, whom she sat down with on the Saturday afternoon of the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black. They discuss his team's trip to this Ryder Cup, what they learned for their preparations for the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, in County Limerick, where the Minister is from, and much more. Ann replays her conversation with Bill Byrne of Aer Lingus on the impact of golf tourism on the Emerald Isle and air travel between the U.S. and Ireland. And Ann shares her guest appearance on BBC News while the exciting singles matches of the Ryder Cup were being played.
This Wednesday episode was once again recorded LIVE on YouTube in an effort to have some fun during "silly season." Andy believes that "golf is back!" and Brendan immediately shares that Dustin Johnson might agree with him. DJ is in the Philippines this week for an Asian Tour event and is excited to grow the game alongside some of his LIV leaguemates and other YouTube golfers. Dustin shared some enlightening thoughts on the host course for this International Series tournament, calling it "a golf course" and allowing his "good caddie" to scout the course and tell him where to hit it. Brendan is giddy about these DJ quotes and gets Andy going on DJ's future in majors now that his exemptions are up. Keegan Bradley is also pondering his future these days, wondering if he'll ever get a chance to play in the Ryder Cup again. At Travelers media day, Keegan shared that the last few weeks have been some of the toughest of his life and that the loss at Bethpage will follow him forever. He did state that his goal is to play at Adare Manor, though, so he's got that going for him for the next two years. A B. Draddy ad read turns into a bit of an Illinois Minute with Andy and Brendan debating if the Illini can find their way into the College Football Playoff this winter. The Schedule for the Week kicks off with the Bank of Utah Championship and the PGA Tour's return to the lava rocks. Andy and Brendan are excited for a weekend of captivating TV viewing at Black Desert Resort with a strong field for a FedEx Fall event. Notably not in the field is Jordan Spieth, who currently sits at 56th in the standings heading into next season. Brendan declares Spieth "MIA" and calls out sponsor exemptions for Signature Events taking away from the fields at events that need big-name players. There's some cocktail golf this week for the east coast in the form of the LPGA's International Crown, and Tommy Gainey is on the bubble of the Champs Tour finals in Phoenix. Brendan runs through some notables for Q-School and Andy anoints the Billy Horschel Invitational Presented by Cisco as the "Event of the Week." In events that have ended, the Butterfield will have a D2 golfer from Lee University in the field after a win at a recent college event. The news roundup begins with Jack Nicklaus winning a $50 million lawsuit, leading to a wider discussion about clubs overspending and youth sports. Lastly, the NBA starts up tonight and the PGA Tour is in Utah, so Andy ends the show with a much-needed Jazz Minute!

Bethpage Black is almost upon us and we've got a bumper preview show ahead of a mouthwatering match up between the USA and Europe. Tom Irwin sits down with Ryder Cup legend Justin Rose, who's about to make his seventh appearance in European colours. Tom and Justin talk about his commitment to the sport through the Rose Ladies Series, barriers to participation, as well as his longevity following another successful season. The Grade 1 Arlington Million is Sunday at Colonial Downs. Even though the race and the journey there were pushed back a day because of tropical storm Debby, the Ron Flatter Racing Pod was not. This episode originates from the road to Virginia. Track announcer and podcast host Jason Beem offers his insights into the Million, the Beverly D. (G2) and the Secretariat (G2), the three traditional graded stakes that anchor Sunday's card. He also has some stories about the odd places he has recorded podcasts and called races. Trainer Graham Motion discusses the decision process for his horses who are cross-entered at Colonial Downs, Saratoga and Woodbine. They include Trikari, Mission of Joy and Highland Chief. Paddock Prince handicapper David Levitch has tips for the Million, the Fourstardave (G1), the Saratoga Derby (G1) and the Saratoga Special (G2). John Cherwa and Ron go over feedback from the past week, including reaction to Bob Baffert's thought that Adare Manor could go against males this month in the Pacific Classic (G1) at Del Mar, and there is something completely different at the beginning and end of this episode.
