Tony Nader is a neuroscientist and leader of the Transcendental Meditation movement, one of the most influential spiritual organisations in the world. Founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the movement has had many prominent members, from the The Beatles, the Beach Boys and Mick Jagger in the 60s to Filmmakers David Lynch and Martin Scorsese, and comedians Eric Andre and Jerry Seinfeld. Dr. Nader took over the leadership in 2008 after training as a doctor in his native Lebanon and gaining a PhD in neuroscience from MIT. He is the author of several books that aim to synthesise the ancient Vedic teachings of northern India with our modern scientific understanding of ourselves and the world around us. His books include Human Physiology: Expression of Veda and the Vedic Literature, Ramayana in Human Physiology and, most recently, One Unbounded Ocean of Consciousness in which he argues that consciousness is all that exists. He also hosts a podcast titled Consciousness is All There is. As many of you will know this is not a stance that I agree with but I believe it is important to explore these ideas given their popularity amongst people who have had unitive mystical experiences.

We're late with this episode, and it's all Cait's fault. She was in the hospital last week with a kidney infection (she's fine now, unfortunately), and we recorded this after she got home (but was still pretty out of it, so ignore whatever she says). While Original Gen and Cait will never agree about green vs red GATORade, the important thing though is that all the DMG gals are still 100 percent Team LokiGator...with the exception of Original Gen's newfound love of Classic Loki (aka SpandexKinkLoki), and a nod to Kid Loki's chilling nexus event. But, you gotta admit, it doesn't get better than Kid Loki and LokiGator doing "Get help!" in the Lokis vs. Lokis scene. Is it too late to ask for a Classic Loki & LokiGator roommate comedy spin-off? This week's episode is a terrible game of actions and consequences, and then the gals get around to talking about Episode 4 of Loki. There are definitely NO mentions of the stupidest moon ever, no mentions at all. The gals struggle between love and hate with the highs (KNEEL!, Sif, and Team B-15!) and lows (why do the scripts feel like they were chopped up by the Swedish Chef on a wild LSD trip, and speaking of muppets, why does one of the Time Keepers look like the Lorax?). Disney's Loki episode 3 kinda drives the gals up a wall. On the one (Hiddleston) hand, we get THE TRAIN SCENE and a landmark canon nod to LGBTQ. On the other (non-Hiddleston) hand, we get the rest of the episode, including the dumbest planetary evacuation ever. Also, don't forget that we go another FULL HOUR on the 190 Proof episode! All the Hiddles handprn (hello, shirt cuffs), and Professor Cait laying the smackdown on Lamentis-1. Loki is driving the gals off the deep end of comic book conspiracy theories. Does Other Jenn really know the truth about Ravonna? Why are Cait and Original Gen arguing about the identity of the "Lady Loki" at the end? Why is Mobius such a dick in this episode? And why are the gals betting with Pompeiian goats? WE KNEW IT! The quickest way to crush Loki's soul is to make him work a desk job. This week, we pick up the pieces of Original Gen's brain from the explosion after the first episode of Disney+ Loki. You know you've watched it and are dying to talk about all the awkward things, and WE ARE HERE FOR YOU! Also, don't forget that we go another FULL HOUR on the 190 Proof episode! Coming May 24: Season 2 of Return Game: Birds, 'Boys, and Bad Blood, presented by NovaCare Rehabilitation, hosted by Rob Ellis and Derrick Gunn. This nine-episode season will take you on a deep dive into the decades-long rivalry between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. It's a rivalry that started when the Eagles were World Champions, and it has spanned decades with no signs of letting up. Sure, you've seen the games, but there's more – so much more – to both sides of the story. You'll hear firsthand from the Eagles legends who lived them. Whether you're an Eagles fan or not, learn why this is one of the fiercest rivalries in sports. Subscribe now, so you don't miss any of the excitement! Episode 1: The Hit that Started it All – There wasn’t a lot of bad blood between the Birds and the Boys until December 1967. There was a play that went down in the Cotton Bowl and Eagles fans have never forgiven or forgotten the moment when the rivalry started to roll. Episode 2: Dick Vermeil to the Rescue – Tom Landry was coaching the ‘Boys and they were really, really good. It was hard to believe the Birds would be able to beat them. By 1976, something needed to be done to shake up the team. A college coach from UCLA was just the changemaker the Birds had been waiting for, but it wasn’t going to be easy. Episode 3: We Want Dallas – Dick Vermeil had the Eagles on the doorstep of the first Super Bowl appearance in franchise history in the 1980 season. The team standing in their way? The Dallas Cowboys. Episode 4: Buddy Ball – Buddy Ryan stirred the pot and fans ate it up. They loved his rift with Tom Landry. They loved it when he would disparage the team in the press. And they loved it even more when he led the team in some of the most iconic games of the era. It didn't take Buddy Ryan long to leave his mark on the rivalry. Episode 5: Gang Green – Before Troy Aikman was a Super Bowl-winning quarterback for the Cowboys, he was feasted upon by the legendary Gang Green defense to the tune of 11 sacks in a single game, setting the tone for the next decade of the rivalry. As for the Eagles, a tragic accident and the birth of free agency forever altered the team and created one of the more remarkable "what if" scenarios in NFL history. Episode 6: Dawn of a New Era – Jeffrey Lurie takes the helm of the franchise and steers it into the most successful era in team history. Episode 7: Fortune Favors the Bold – The Eagles dominated the rivalry in the 2000s. How did things turn in the Eagles' direction? It all started with a kick .. in Dallas. Episode 8: 44-6 – T.O. returns to Philadelphia, but this time as a member of the Dallas Cowboys. Two years later, the Eagles needed a miracle to make the playoffs. Everything fell into place. The only thing left was to beat the Cowboys. Episode 9: Birds, 'Boys, and Bad Blood – Another decade. Another series of Eagles-Cowboys showdowns to determine NFC East supremacy. There is a reason this rivalry is over 50 years old and only getting better.

Mail Order Brides/Love Me/10 Days=WifeWelcome to The Guys Review, where we review media, products and experiences. Mail-Order Brides:A mail-order bride is a woman who lists herself in catalogs and is selected by a man for marriage. In the twentieth century, the trend was primarily towards women living in developing countries seeking men in more developed nations. In the twenty-first century, the trend is now based primarily on internet-based meeting places which do not per se qualify as mail-order bride services. The majority of the women listed in the twentieth-century and twenty-first-century services are from Southeast Asia, countries of the former Eastern Bloc and (to a lesser extent) from Latin America. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, large numbers of eastern European women have advertised themselves in such a way, primarily from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and Moldova. Men who list themselves in such publications are referred to as "mail-order husbands", although this is much less common. The term "mail-order bride" is both criticized by owners (and customers) of international marriage agencies and used by them as an easily recognizable term.According to https://www.mailorderbrideprices.com/, The average cost of a mail order bride is between $5,000 and $30,000.According to newbrides.net, in total, be ready to spend around $12,000-$35,000 USD for finding and meeting your mail order bride.Love MeDirected by: Jonathon NarducciOpen asking what love is. We're introduced to John Adams, who runs A Foreign Affair, or LoveMe.com. The "legitimate" side of this business. Then we meet Robert from Fresno, divorced and says it's hard to meet sigle women. Next is Eric, from San Antonio, who says he's never had a serious relationship. Next is Bobby, and HR guy who works for the Federal Government, and makes sure to make a point that his views are his alone, not the Governments and that dating sites never worked for him. Ron, in NC who wen to on 5 dates that lasted less than 5 minutes; feels taken advantage of, not encouraged. Next is Travis from Wisconsin. Says he hasn't dated a lot and not a lot of single women where he lives.-Crazy website. Seems fake with all the links and everything. Fake profiles.-Are the guys delusional?-Something definitely "off" with Eric-Feels like they're setting up with a lot of blue collar/conservative type guys-Already don't like Ron. Esp talking about putting down John for not being good looking... Obviously he thinks he's MUCH better. Jesus.John tells a quick story about how he met his wife through his own service. How any guy can join for free, but to actually SEND the messages, you've to pay... because, they have to be translated. Some of the guys talk about how they signed up and miraculously, randomly, started receiving letters from women... That they had to pay to respond to. We then go to Australia and meet Elena Petrova owner of Elenas Models, in an effort to match Eastern European women to Western Men. Then we meet Michael, a divorced widower, who has started a relationship with a woman he met through Elenas service. Elena proposes some Ukrainian women use the site because there are only 87 men for every 100 women, and the high rate of alcoholism. (We would disappoint them too).-Paying to translate messages... They don't have google or an iphone.-Notice how Elena can't keep her eyes open talking about what she does...-The fact they, Michael, calls them "girls" is a little disturbing.Back in the US, John explains that emailing isn't enough, that you need a "Romance Tour" to meet the women they're conversing with. Robert from Fresno makes the statement that $12,000 is worth happiness. We meet Bob Rhey the tour director, who says it's kind of like a frat road trip, but with more of a purpose. All these these guys are now in the Ukrine. Australian Michael also flies to Kiev to meet Svitlana (and her two daughters). Back with the AFA guys, they have a social event. 210 women and 20 guys. The guys keep talking about how overwhelming it was. During the montage, we're subjected to Bob the tour director, shirtless, with a belt around his neck, and 4 or 5 women gyrating on/over him. Ron details some of his reservations. Travis talks about meeting Victoria, and plans on being engaged before he leaves. Ron complains about not meeting many women his age, and the interpreter says not many are actually looking for a long term relationship. Eric says he's been to the Ukraine on 6 different trips! Eric meets a woman, and has a date. She seems genuine. Bobby is looking forward to meeting Julia, who looks like Angelina Jolie... and she doesn't show up. He reveals he's probably spent $10K emailing this woman. Wonders if it was a scam. Back with Australian Mike, it seems he's waiting for Svitlana to decide if she wants to come back with him or not. Switching to Bobby actually meets Julia... he's still pondering if it's who he's been talking to. Seems like an awkward conversation, but he proposes to her, and she says she wants to move in that direction. But didn't get her actual email address.-Fucking Ron... "My goal is to shake the hand of every girl there"-Bachelor party belt story-I'm glad Ron doesn't like to dance. He also has something on his nose, like a booger. Gross.-Eric has probably spent $70K on this thing...-All the model photos are just ridiculous.-Svitlana is pretty hot-Julia has had some work doneAustralian Michael revels he proposed to Svitlana, and she accepted. As the AFA trip draws to a close, Robert says he'd like to be married or close to it by next Christmas. Ron complains, "they're just not that fucking friendly. They're not". San Antonio Eric seems to have met someone, and she seems to like him. Wisconsin Travis doesn't want to leave Victoria.3 Month Time JumpWisconsin Travis talks about how he knew he was in love with Victoria, and plans on going back and proposing to her. San Antonio Eric says he's been to Ukraine 6 times, "dated" 35-40 women... He's going back to get Inna, and we meet her parents. They tell us most girls get married at 18, and since she's 30, they're worried about her being alone forever. They don't want her going so far, but respect her decision. Admirable. Fresno Robert goes back to see the Vita, and proposed within the first hour of being back in Ukraine. We see her parents who say they're happy for both of them. Next we're in Bali and Australian Mike reveals he received an email warning him about marrying Svitlana. They move forward and end up get married. HR Bobby ended the relationship Julia because she was being dodgy, feels he was scammed, and John Adams even says AFA is looking out for AFA. Wisconsin Travis arrives and while excited, says something feels off. On his last day, Travis basically bribed the police and a loan shark to not arrest Victoria. Australian Mike says sometimes he waits hours to speak with Svitlana, meanwhile, she admits to maintaining relationship with multiple men to choose if and where she wants to go if she leaves Ukraine.-Maybe you're just a douche canoe, Ron. I mean, in his interviews, he's wearing a fucking Abercrombie sweater, and he's 50+!!-How much money has Eric spent? $100K?!-As much as we joke about it, the cultural norm there is HUGE with family and being married... Maybe there is something to that?-Why am I not surprised some of these girls used the foreign guys to either pay debts or as an escape plan.6 Months LaterWe see Vita going through all of the medical tests needed for a Fiance Passport and the American Embassy to get it. Next, Inna is in Texas. Meeting Erics parents. Australian Mike gravels back to Ukraine to see Svitlana, she definitely sounds like she doesn't want him there. She says he's never asked her how she feels, and that she is just an idea he has, that she embodies. Vita has gotten her passport after only 3 questions. She shares a tearful goodbye with family and friends. They follow and film her trip an America. She's obviously never been on a plane before. Fresno Robert is waiting and they have a very happy meeting. Back in Texas, Eric and Inna are going for a court wedding, in a tiny red dress, and a sleeveless t-shirt. They're married with a VERY aggressive kiss from Eric. Australian Michael speaks with Svitlana, she wants to end the relationship, and he's upset. Ron is shown to be dating a woman in his hometown. HR Bobby gave up on dating, got depressed, worked through it and decided to give it another try. Wisconsin Travis has given up. Fresno Robert married Vita. Inna is shown to be pregnant.-Good for San Antonio Eric, seems she's legit.-The look on Erics family's face is classic.-Do you think it's legit with Inna.-Following Vita, I can't imagine how difficult letting her go would be. Hurts my heart.-I legit felt good for Robert and Vita.-Same with Eric and Inna.-Fucking Ron grabbing the woman's butt.10 Days = Wife: Love TranslatedDirected by Julia IvanovaWe open to a man playing guitar. It centers on Anastasia.com, and there are several men who are from all over the world traveling to Eastern Europe to find a woman. There are some women talking about the differences between American men and Ukrainian men. All the while the guys are explaining what happened, why they're searching for a new wife, divorce, work, etc. They go and judge a Miss Odessa competition. There is a lot of exposition and explanation, comparing and contrasting what they're looking for. It's pointed out again that Ukrainian men get drunk too often. Before the social, there is a disclaimer that they don't know these women personally, so they'll have to judge how honest they are. The cab driver asks why an 18 year old would want a grandpa? They talk about how some are professional brides and there are some of the guys who are professional grooms.-The Miss Odessa competition was gross.-This one is a little more...predatory.-Dude thinks feminism has robbed women... Hmmm.-A lot of focus on the womens bodies8 Days to go: Gaining Access:We watch one of the guys on a very quiet date, while the Asian dude meets one of the girls from the Miss Odessa competition. After, the guys meet and discuss their strategy for meeting/deciding on which women to pursue. There is a bit of history about Ukraine, how/why it's in the state its in today. For some reason, we're shown some street musicians playing, and it seems the police try to stop them, when a by-stander accuses them of touring Odessa into a prison. The musicians keep playing.-The guys discussing their strategies for meeting women was uncomfortable.-When the guys are in the car talking about wine and how the Bordeaux "opens up" and has a "nose"-The guys on the beach were creepy too.7 Days to go: Moving ForwardMore guys talk about what ended their previous relationships, their personal history, and what they're looking for. Heading for their 3rd/final social. One guy goes with a woman and a translator... Who hw says he likes both. Some awkward white guy dance moves later set to some authentic Ukrainian music. 5 Days to go: "Reality leaves a lot to imagination" -John LennonGuys continue to talk and discuss with various women. The guy who was seeing the two women, one being the translator, picked one... And said the other was upset, but then started picking up English faster and shaking her butt at him. More discussion and a visit to a museum. One of the girls is shown getting ready, talking about where and how she lives. How she affords everything. We see the Asian-Canadian talking about one girl who is a singer...and how if she comes, and becomes a mother, she can't sing anymore, because you can't do both.-Fucking what. He was genuinely excited about the girl shaking her butt at him. Gross.-This one is definitely more gross than the other one.-Watching the girl get ready is nice...but did it need to go SO LONG-Getting a little...Eh...with the Asian/Canadian dude.3 Days to go: Love conquers All:There seems to be some conflict between two of the guys, maybe going for the same woman. The guys are sitting around discussing how to immigrate the women into wherever they live. Two couples are having drinks by the pool. One of the guys had the girl come to the hotel with him, the other ended up along, having a smoke at the bar.-The guy smelling the wine. Good God. How pretentious.1 Day to go: Now or Never:The Asian/Canadian wants to pursue the singer, but she politely turns him down. He receives a very nice letter from one of the Miss Odessa competition, which he is considering as a backup. We're then shown some women, whose faces have been obscured, admitting they have written letters for "brides" and many are just looking for free food and shopping, not really for long term. Some are, but not many. We see Michael, further courting the Miss Odessa contestant, who we find out is only 18. One of the guys stopped seeing a woman because she was too dramatic and he didn't want to bring flowers every time. We see a French guy who is looking for a girl under 30, and he is 57... There is a guy who straight-out says having the Eastern European women approach them is an ego boost. We're shown a double date with the guy who said the woman was too dramatic, and is a total asshole. He ignores her, smokes when she doesn't want him to, and is generally an ass. Though, they seem to make up. The guys then all pack up and go home.Six months later, only one couple is still together: one of the interpreters has divorced her husband, and will be moving to Minnesota.-The French guy is gross too. 57 looking for under 30...-The double date... FUCK that guy. Webpage: https://theguysreview.simplecast.com/EM: theguysreviewpod@gmail.comIG: @TheGuysReviewPodTwitter: @The_GuysReviewFB: https://facebook.com/TheGuysReviewPod/

*No, it's not a cruel joke that this episode is only 4 minutes long. The actual episode is under renovation and will be up soon. In the meantime, enjoy this little amuse-bouche. You know Cronos would. Some folks may be surprised that in many hospitals across the country there are ethicists wandering the halls. In this episode, Tyler and Devan chat with Dr. Virginia Bartlett about clinical ethics. Who are clinical ethicists, what do they do, when would they be involved in the care of patients? As broadcast October 23, 2020. We welcome indie artist JW Francis, whose new album "We Share A Similar Joy" drops November 6. We also premiered an unreleased track off the album called "All There," even though it is questionable whether Danno or JW were in fact all there during the interview. A very fun artist to get to know, be sure to peep the album when it drops. Podcast version of the show plays all tunes on the artist's playlist regardless of what was aired on the FM waves. I want to just chat about something really quickly before I share about today’s podcast. I did NOT post a podcast episode last week and I was originally disappointed with myself AND through the learning from my mindset reset I was able to rewire those thoughts. If you “skipped a week” of your goals due to life circumstances, THAT IS A-OK. Sometimes our brains trick us and tell us we should be doing more. But what I say to clients is that whatever you were pulled to do in that timeframe whether it was a babymoon (like myself) or celebrating one of your best friends weddings (also me) that you should be ALL THERE. Although it may feel like business or your passion projects aren’t “moving” when you’re not working on them constantly it doesn’t mean you are behind or that you are no longer interested. It means you are participating in something called LIFE. AND YOU SHOULD BE ALL IN WITH YOUR LIFE. The most important thing is when taking these “breaks” is that you come back with the RIGHT MINDSET and you just keep going. Ok, are you ready to hear about today’s episode because I’m ready to share with you! Each time I talk to Ashley Kalinkakus, I feel like I’m getting my MBA. THIS GIRL IS A BADASS. Ashley is the Chief Executive Officer & Founder of Torigen Pharmaceuticals, a company that is focused on personalized cancer immunotherapy for the veterinary market. Wanna know how he got started? She took her graduate thesis and turned it into a business. I took so many nuggets from Ashley - things like PIVOTING and being OK with it as it is essential for growth. We talk about how vital it is to research your market and to ask qualitative questions in order to know if you have a business. Ashley and I chatted a lot about confidence and how this young, blonde, female CEO is taking charge and in the board room & with her team at work. Ashley believes that being confident even when feeling uncomfortable is what helps us reach our goals. WE ALL are uncomfortable when offering something that means so damn much to us. We talk about that too- other people’s opinions are important but they aren’t there to deter you, they are to help you pivot and grow. Although Ashley leans heavily on her team and their input, she also makes sure to trust her process and ideas. And most importantly, when she received challenging feedback, she used it as fuel and building blocks to make the business better. The biggest takeaway? Think Ross from friends with that damn white couch in the stairways…PIVOT. And keep pivoting and trying and iterating and learning. Stay open, and enjoy the ride! OMG, you are going to LOVE this episode! Tune in NOW- Live on iTunes, link in bio! Leave me a review as I’d love to hear your feedback!
Despite a million injuries, the New York Yankees have somehow caught fire. The guys break down the first two games of the Angels series, including Monday's bizarre 14 inning win. Is Domingo German the best pitcher in Major League Baseball? Is Mike Ford Barry Bonds 2.0? What the hell is wrong with Chad Green? The guys break it all down, answer some DMs and end the show drafting their (2008-present) All-“There's No Way These Guys Actually Played For Us” Team.

One Global Group and One American Group And We've Grown to These Groups to 20,000+ People Just like Interested in Time Travel And You're Not Here Doing This on the Side for Find That You Got a Baby Yeah but We Just Had a Baby My Wife and I Just Had a Baby in December All you Share it with others that's that's a good post will i debate doing that sometimes is this blowouts and my thinking is posting about it and all the parents i will care we can do it first time it happened so that i laugh sounds like you had some diarrhea but i guess that's my ultimate goal is the one day prove my wife you can actually make a ton of money time trouble stuff but that's my subproject i mean it's is that your your branding and marketing look good so far from what i've seen high school super and super witty to established what is an established 2042 i thought that was like i was like damn that's that's it's like when i see it, another community are joking or like that's i wish i i thought a clear think about it but that's right there and it's a good you know, wink nod i was like that logos and branding stuff the bus the simple high test two-headed gator right and so you put hourglass in the middle of that which is just good negative space man love it or think it is been doing a lot of logo concepts lately so your needs later on about how good i absolutely hate the other thing that what i found interesting because i'm turning on linkedin and i haven't really been figuring out how to get more organic reach out there but you have a lot of people that commented on that site i got to see what how here's my impression of linkedin's newsfeed it's like it's like a recruiter going like hey i got a $55,000 job of law and then the next person i want to do a sketch that were on a bar basically the next one it's there's a story about failure and redemption but it's a real humble rag marketing thing since i two years ago i lost everything in picture this my eye was the breadwinner in my house my my wife and kids my parents were living with us i it was all on me and then two years later i figured it out and i want to show you how to do it to him like rights that's next thing after that some might nonsense business coach and then after that another quote and then another failure story and that's like basically the whole feed i don't know if it's the same for you but i guess it depends on your network.you see a lot of you see especially be the new thing i just i think is again a way to game the algorithm but it's like want to text with a hook because it cuts off the rest the taxes like click on the hook and then that makes you appear more people search yeah i try to do that it's like i try to asterix stuff if i need like put more detail into it but i want as people last night i try to figure how to do it and is like zero people commented on it but i wanted to see how i really have like a stick up my ass about people getting ripped off with digital services and it really is a really funky bothers me that this industry it is very snake oil-ish i would say hey were going to get you this amana trafficker this amount of revenue for this amount of leads and there's a subject gap education gap of the staff which we try to go way overboard educating clients but man i'm about to go like wwe wrestler like just calling out the shed does that mean there's a ton of its i think it's carryover from my way back down on you guys a bit individual but like dear member have these like add rotators so gunmen advertisers would pay for impressions maddie's whole like click or not click public impression for and is the same thing now i've heard of some people using lean even wilmington pay to play where they have like a group of people they all growing up however much and then everybody, thereby suppose but like what's the point what's the endgame that's gonna get you mean i think if you have a book something that is some kind of product you can sell i don't have a final and you get i get a lot of life marketing funnel funnel for the final list that you do add here's my free e-book and then you click on it's like all upsell affiliate link to click funnels are yeah yeah if you knew how to do it all the time why are you doing it to other marketers i really see a lot of words like the coach you on how to a million cells just let me sell to you right right weren't you doing what you're supposed be doing return to tel aviv to do it and i tell clients know this stuff elliptically or from what notice to you right like type there is little real estate guys to do that like to teach and sell real estate flipping come to my seminar it's like marion holiday inn express 9 am free continental breakfast that they give them about those one down update so i try to explain everything in old-school terms to people to clients that are not tech savvy at all and i might like but were not the online world is not that original if anything it's way more repetitive than anything else in the world a copy it's like copy business whatever someone's doing overhearing a copy that do it in a different little bit different way the faster yeah i just i haven't spoken i was thing about the other nights can really test like how many people we talk to that almost everybody that comes to us has had a bad experience already and like oh yeah this sco company they promised me a lot of traffic i got nothing and i paid him 50 grand a year and it's a like a local business like a lot of money for that's a lot of money but generally company under just you messing them up like and in the shockingly bad as the clock the client that just blindly sign with these people we never get the first time around give us a blind sign when i know well send the sins of the grant here will yeah we we can do so much for directors of local business but it's one of the things were i figured centering the digital marketing world and guess you had a similar thing going on so basically what i have going on is just type them in like attitude towards a lot of that story is like a decent guy the few times we talked nebulous about you but i think the so under the law rachel my posters because i try to create authentic connections an interesting concept so you know i'm not trying to sell business coaching services to business coaches or anything like open something about time travel up there for all a good example is one of the things i'm working on now if you have told you about its just let me know what when you got here for about 50 mentors are not connected that out but concise yet that's good all but one thing working right now is trying to figure out what makes people say yes i why the people convert like if he is her conversion rate optimization so there's a lot of companies out there that can assail their formula and that's place to do this i got my start in marketing in jacksonville and that is crazy formula that was nobody's ever to remember it was i remember it but it's c equals 4m plus 3v -2 it's long i had of the variables being built just like conversion motivation to write down conversion motivation incentive friction anxiety and another company called washing wonderful to have a similar one the lift model the value proposition is is a airplane is growing your you're right your likelihood to convert but i can one called the crave methodology and so basically some sexy pain i got market marketing should be set to rise in the market in the marketing stuff you're doing should have good marketing terms like turkey burgers logo in the mm's fire so close on the name of all that is good nobody ever gets it right will everything wrong you know how to help you i don't know what held up her yeah i don't know how to read we should talk about me always a little about what i mean is indian tribes is like who knows so little white man's literal work go in the temperate temperament sticks of fire hence the fire look so end and we sit around like run a campfire, planning should out that's that's a whole brand world figure depreciated renting thanks man but the credit methodology so you've got a situation where you want somebody to say yes or to do some certain actions like your example you the postop and you want to get some feedback from written so there's each letter has elements of art is a reason what's the what's the reason that the person is in that decision-making mindset why are they only did what was the reason her motivation for being there yet understand that the next element is action and what's the action that you want them take asking them to do it so is a clear all in the v is the value proposition slight what's in it for them i'm writing this down okay i think it's fine if that's all right i was what is at work on the book but it will probably take me 12 years her head hits a fly onslow hide a lot of projects in the far right but all that is experience like everything else on linkedin's know it's is it spelled correctly formatted right stuff to catch their all for web conversion it's no it doesn't work the father but on so like what's in it what was see so see so first first of all you get those for you can have something that gets people raving about what you're doing on see is that connection so that authentic human connection that's what i say makes people crave were you doing and come back again and again i feel like that is a lot of youtube celebrities are very good at that right after making the site i don't of log is still term but there it looks like there there looking there i line is directly at the lynn's so it looks like you're talking to the persons like you have a friend right it's digital but it feels authentic yeah except i like watching tv it's different when they're talking at you but wish to look at the camera i mean i can if you want you didn't like close-ups is automatically doing it so that's good sometimes it will just hit that like that paying of me when us to yeah yeah man pretty good pot but by god you listeners break but you know the whole thing out i guess the the value in it formulated so it's a way to analyze what you're doing yeah what you're putting out there and you can visit with clients as well but how do you how you analyze like you know i give value proposition similes are hard to quantify right yeah here's a good example this is just a heuristic it's a mental shortcut for whatever you're trying to make the situation happen so let's say you're in a bar and your goal on how they were all married but was pre-college years okay all your daydreaming now they drew his time trying to serve her time traveling back in time the precollege hop if a company go to the bar and there's a young lady that you're interested in all your conversion goal is also to get her home so you can get to know her better so far first c is for consent so are you first learn to you have suffered enough from the universe and what to reason to be there to pick up on different cues like notice from initial conversation as she can look around to see what she wants to meet other people in my garden with a wall of her friends when offense of line is that exactly all that is left to shape the new how easy it is to pursue this this pickup i guess you say yeah all and in the value light what is what i think now you okay my favorite baby in a what what is she valuing it just as she introduced both new skills to finally go for me for the wrong prospect okay on experiencing a is there is orval drunk in its back in time before ever existed lower even to get home when there's a number of different things that you can analyze the situation to figure out what you need to influence to i just kind of funny ifi would try to run through a method be like that yeah in my panties that were certainly the analytical warrior like in other scenarios because i don't feel like this is out when you actually applied mcclure maybe didn't design articulated i mean it this probably is spent sitting in your craw for a while the way to you that you're looking at this right because again online is not that different from off-line i don't think it will you explaining it to us is not the same as you running through it in your head speed because you're used to doing you know i got the same thing because we have no idea what you're getting to yes i guess that's the thing is that it's heuristics are like that because you can run through quickly so it's probably largely explain in person and it is run through yeah it does it would make you feel over analytical or whatever yeah i mean we can talk about that without using the cool term heuristic but it's just like what can we do and have snapshot kind of decision-making, working on that slowly you know, get dashboards that just okay here's were at today just know the lifeblood of the company kind of stuff and that's similar kind of thing and in a way because not to tell us exactly how good we are it's good to give us, were in between the nautical beacons three premade decision sort of failure it's like yeah will in the situation we already know this is what to do sort of thing yeah the fit lessening the variables what do you see in the digital marketing universe connect what you think anything you think about augmented reality staff virtual-reality stuff what you think the next kind bigger thing will be i feel like amazon google facebook have such a stronghold over most of the internet it's really interesting to come to see the corporate consolidation of everything but well from a digital marketer standpoint what he thinks it'll be like the next, platform to conduct market either advertisers that kind of holistic marketing approach like coat craves more of that figure strategy kinda meets tactics idea of i think the i think it was all just launch there go stores yeah like yesterday's yellow line was, ironically around the block away from people don't go to the grocery store that does have is supposed to not have any lines but had a fecund my thinking yank the guard because years but nice and everything censored as you pick it up it'll john michael charge you as you walk out with amazon pay or whatever is but i guess that i see that being one of the for the big shifts that we see in marketing is how do you you go ahead have the friction moment in a transaction and how to go and set that up with a customer so it doesn't exist anymore looking that's with her after where are you going to the store you get what you want to leave you doing think about the purchase you will have that awkward buyer's remorse and so maybe you get your credit card bill it's good way to think about that or you have the talking i hate i hate the underselling i sign it i'll add mad jack audio drop buttons and find dad mad him out of the stew i bet when you're the grocery store and the like and you can't get test right there at the grocery store you checking out there like would you like to donate a dollar to kid to click pallets in life will i look i'll do it on my own because i want the tax write off i have said this before just like yeah and after the railroad job i mean i hate that light but it then you feel it should if you don't do it is not i don't do a better thing i'm over that i do my own journey by cantilever troops in my words what the fark i know you were no troops worse than that there is like some visitors restored my wife is from germany and she gets like really a quotable man is merely small talk some of the grocery store there like buying anything super you tonight you talking well you have said about my time some bad ass chocolate cakes at her no never had german chocolate cake i bet it's not a business setting from germany what i have no idea pogo asked but that seems like the sort of thing the unit implementing because if there's a german bakery in south tampa is wrong with this home but anyway so that's the key to jennings are trying to get rid of curves that whole awkward because that's part of the experience part of the crate methodology it's it's those moments where it's like you have and you have the likelihood to turn around and say i want to do this i will like if you're a person a client were there some way that you can just make it where they don't have to sign the paperwork and sounded online, that's always an excuse but there's there's new digital ways to to get around that light mover for example like they set it up at the beginning and after that you just the cx line experience customer trip on experience yeah we think about that a lot but at the same time art are big thing as i see it going forward his transparencies in this industry can happen i think a lot more especially with pricing like it's wild west out there that's that's part of the reason people can get ripped off all the time because they don't know how much stuff cost and should cost german chocolate cake was made by samuel german and american i went there to determine bakeries right all adults start backtracking now i totally called it the way you look at every meal german chocolate cake the guys name was samuel german was determined doesn't matter so much american chocolate maker but you know alex guys back me up okay folks from the united states he found on reddit drink on wikipedia yeah you read it it's like the national archive i found a fortune which i know that i must've i don't know maybe you were there already and and maybe maybe the way to get that fourth dimension is love for talking just to bring in interstellar chicken scotch interstellar the cake i digital marketing wise i feel like transparency is getting to more more to me morally i feel like it's kind of our duty to really even though reply lose a lot now you know in the early stages of this firm but i feel like long-term debt that will pay dividends and buy trust a lot of people mi things like i can't sleep before ripping someone off to anything but i feel like a lot of people dislike batson 1790 does it yeah is a big deal for the business but w is a good point i think it's even like thinking of surveys conversion rate optimization company that's a relatively new digital marketing field but a lot of them though approach big corporations mostly well we can run a test and get you a lift can we just had 10% of that lives because that's you know it's pretty transparent there's a deal but let's say they get an extra million dollars that would've been there there's a new 10% of a big chunk of change that's that's a sliding scale tombs based on performance on the think performance-based results are to be a lot bigger in the future site as they should be should been all along i think standardization of terms these happen somehow that that's the hardest part of communicating all the stuff like what is a conversion meeting so like some people don't understand like knowing your lead though someone filling out a form as a lead that your conversion that i yeah but we didn't didn't give us any money that i know that's not the main objective for you as a service business for marketing people on my email so it's that it's tough it's tough because i talked a lot of people go how much you how much does it lead cost you and the like no other idea like i have an interesting marketing like it in so i will go crazy when dad show you my totem pole kind of idea how to look at all.i finished this this yet it's pretty it's it's all up in this this five had fallen under the san antonio whole maybe to do a better job of explaining that i did my craig wrote now that is way more convoluted again located yes pants off every time as well that i get sweaty sweat equity yet the legs will blank you were that all the powers from right so you know i get really hot and like little feverish and then i have to close off so that's what happens anything else dana point people to anything i forgot to bring up all of them you can follow along with the time trouble stuff it time travelers.org right now is that my passion project try to learn audiences because like i don't know anything about doctor who leslie one of the biggest groups so this like sunday in tampa florida thursday tom ward fist so volunteered with i just want to check this world out did you gotta come back on my next month yet i want to hear about like you have an open invite by the way my legs were down the street to cool this is the show's messy pragmatic business advice a lot of it is digital marketing stuff to do because a lot of people if they're doing their side passion thing you know i make in an antique store that they need advice in that direction so next to me, me will will do like a mailbag or some butter but yeah i mean i want to hear the progression of this truth i know the last thing i want to ask about is a facebook group so we we need to do it for our sweat equity page because i think that be a good area to drum up discussion and if you invite people they automatically get added right so there will be careful of what why that one is the one you want to make a lot of people how we talk about the christmas party is yeah i mean by now through all my friends on their been doing comedy for 12 years promoting shows and stuff i think they know i'm kind of a horror with all the stuff but at the same time i.e. was it the other people that are like i know you're doing it that you like i feel like this is all i post about anything so it's tough but another the group is absolutely the way to go because everybody is a page of yeah i don't know if you saw the recent news and digital facebook it is much making it almost impossible to reach your audience through your page without paying for the post so groups is going the last holdout that's where everybody's got them migrating their strategies but they've already doubled back on that according to iphone cat how i don't if you see her she's like a facebook advertiser it she's a good person to follow because shall give an update every week of the stuff that's going on so it's like a i like it she could for me to come to know what what's going on already know how to do a lot of that advertising but you know what that something changes everything is but i usually don't have people with a huge following anyway so we usually have people that have a small following we go ads like crazy but the groups it creates engagement what have you seen out of it because some of the ones in there really trying to sell you something sneak them in their now let's let me that's the whole experience part two you you have to have interesting topics that your people in that community are in the audience are interested in and you can't just say oh way i could easily with those 20,000 people say about his t-shirt about time travel every third poster something but like that's cannot alienate people and eventually is going to kill the engagement from the group yeah i think you're seeing the whole movement of like like good content is habitat for your blog or social outlets all that stuff always goes back to the content every time you just try to try to do don't try to game the system that's what this can i see a guy strategy is the size of a marketing company mounted the consulting back in the day all and articles golden rule marketing do onto others as you 72 years and that's something that's a good rule about i agree i think we'll see more kind of a meeting to get to net neutrality which i kind wanted to but will do it another time we've been we've been shoving it off for months why fight it, it's not, it's going away what i meant yeah what is it me talk about it a little bit but what are you got you got a ball, but we got some other work to do things coming on and i we went to church and how we can both teachers in our get-together targeting is one okay running to be what about the people listening they were to pay for so were so one of the parties work on is the one time travelers.org were to be launching a online time trouble museums or interstellar billing to all the things we talked about will have a breakdown but also store speak about the impress your friends with your knowledge and you do rent double unity big cartel not they were working to do is probably to start our lives was a cold printable or think yeah this way it's basically an order it'll dropship it in the print windows just don't get the hands pvt please do not always go straight alternative apparel yeah yeah you nice that's it yeah i only reason i wear the shirts write every day of my life american apparel center seven of them some good i think for, no man and you know i can't wait defection time travel i'm excited she can can i just have to maybe earned it so i suit you did there did they really get into that more is you did do a more fun
Human beings are masters of overconfidence. Even when we're wary of a rose-colored outlook, we find it tough to reliably determine whether a particular course of action is wise or not. This effect is not eliminated by combining fallible people together into groups, either. Daniel Kahneman describes this dynamic in his book Thinking, Fast and Slow. Can overconfident optimism be overcome by training? I am not optimistic. There have been numerous attempts to train people to state confidence intervals that reflect the imprecision of their judgments, with only a few reports of modest success. An often cited example is that geologists at Royal Dutch Shell became less overconfident in their assessments of possible drilling sites after training with multiple past cases for which the outcome was known. In other situations, overconfidence was mitigated (but not eliminated) when judges were encouraged to consider competing hypotheses. However, overconfidence is a direct consequence of features of System 1 that can be tamed—but not vanquished. The main obstacle is that subjective confidence is determined by the coherence of the story one has constructed, not by the quality and amount of the information that supports it.1 Recall that System 1 thinking is the fast variety, which can also be thought of as intuitive or less effortful thinking. In order to explore this issue more fully, in 2009, Kahneman collaborated with Gary Klein, a research psychologist known for his work on experts' decision making processes in real-world scenarios. Kahneman makes room for his alternative perspective on intuition. Organizations may be better able to tame optimism and individuals than individuals are. The best idea for doing so was contributed by Gary Klein, my “adversarial collaborator” who generally defends intuitive decision making against claims of bias and is typically hostile to algorithms. He labels his proposal the premortem . The procedure is simple: when the organization has almost come to an important decision but has not formally committed itself, Klein proposes gathering for a brief session a group of individuals who are knowledgeable about the decision. The premise of the session is a short speech: “Imagine that we are a year into the future. We implemented the plan as it now exists. The outcome was a disaster. Please take 5 to 10 minutes to write a brief history of that disaster.”2 This mental frame, applied by team leadership, is designed to circumvent the natural loyalty people have to their teams. Kahneman continues, As a team converges on a decision—and especially when the leader tips her hand—public doubts about the wisdom of the planned move are gradually suppressed and eventually come to be treated as evidence of flawed loyalty to the team and its leaders. The suppression of doubt contributes to overconfidence in a group where only supporters of the decision have a voice. The main virtue of the premortem is that it legitimizes doubts. Furthermore, it encourages even supporters of the decision to search for possible threats that they had not considered earlier. The premortem is not a panacea and does not provide complete protection against nasty surprises, but it goes some way toward reducing the damage of plans that are subject to the biases of WYSIATI3 and uncritical optimism.4 I think learning to consciously change our mental frames is vital to improving our judgment and decision making. When it comes time to begin your next big project, whether solo or on a team, take time to picture what failure would look like. It might help you find success instead. Kahneman, Daniel.
