Today's podcast is with Chris Bramah and JB Morin. Chris is a consultant Physiotherapist and Researcher at the Manchester Institute of Health & Performance, specializing in biomechanics for injury prevention, especially in running-related concerns like hamstring strains. With over a decade in elite sports and a Ph.D. in biomechanics, he collaborates with World and Olympic Medallists, providing consultancy services focused on sprint running mechanics and their connection to hamstring strain injuries for clients. JB Morin, a full professor and head of sports science at the University of Saint-Etienne, brings over 15 years of research experience. Having published 50 peer-reviewed journals since 2004, he is a world-leading researcher in sprint-related topics, collaborating with top sprinters like Christophe Lemaitre. As a two-time previous podcast guest, JB shares valuable insights applicable to team sports, including his expertise in force-velocity profiling and heavy sled training. Sprinting and sports injuries are complex. Hamstring injuries are common, yet there is not one “unicorn” of a risk factor that determines whether or not an athlete will sustain one. As the roadmap of injury risk is continually unfolding, understanding what is happening from the coaching practices and observations, sports science, and research lenses can all work together to improve our global understanding of building fast and robust athletes. On the episode today, Chris and JB go into various running factors that play into robust sport running performance. These range from force-velocity profiling elements to kinematics and sprint technique, and rotational-based factors. This was a podcast that really digs into the sprint injury equation on a detailed and informative level. Today's episode is brought to you by Lost Empire Herbs, TeamBuildr and the Plyomat. Saint Paul Public Library librarian János reads "The Coin of Dionysius" by Ernest Bramah from The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes. As the Golden Age of Detective Fiction emerged in the wake of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories, it behooved authors to distinguish their character both from Holmes and the other crimesolvers proliferating in the pages of magazines. Ernest Bramah was one of the first to give his character a physical disability. In this tale he introduces Max Carrados, whose chance encounter with a private inquiry agent is an opportunity to prove that blindness is no impediment, and possibly even an asset, in detective work. Max Carrados might be literature's first blind sleuth, but what really elevates Ernest Bramah's stories are the humanity with which he imbues the character, and the zingy wit of the writing.

3Ug nag-ingnanay sila, “Dali! Maghimo kitag tisa ug ipaagi nato kinig kalayo aron mogahi.” Busa nakabaton silag tisa ug aspalto aron ipatapot niini. So kani, presumably, nanaog gikan sa langit. Ug sama sa tanang mga simbahan sa katawhan sa Dios, ---33For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.Klaro kaayo no nga dili ni pwede tinuod ning duha. Ngano man kuno nga mo-tuo ta ani nila? Figurative ra pud diay to si Jesus? Daghang salamat.Question everything.

Crooks made the mistake of underestimating private detectives Max Carrados and Captain Duncan Maclain because both men were blind. After you hear their radio adventures, you'll know that a lack of sight doesn't stand in the way of these gentlemen as they solve seemingly impossible murders. Ernest Bramah's gentlemanly Carrados (voiced by Alfred Shirley) stars in "The Holloway Flat Tragedy" from Murder Clinic (originally aired on Mutual on August 18, 1942). Then, Baynard Kendrick's Maclain (played here by Brian Donlevy) is heard in "Out of Control" from Suspense (originally aired on CBS on August 23, 1946).

Click here to Watch on YouTubeHappy New Year 2018!Welcome sa lain na pud nato nga episode sa atong podcast nga gitawag ug Bag-ong Dan-ag. Post Hoc or Faulty CausalityAng fallacy nga “post hoc, ergo propter hoc,” nga literally nagpasabot ug “human ani, mao nga tungod ani” - “after this, therefore because of this.”Mao ni ang fallacy kung diin nasipyat ta ug hubad sa mga nahitabo nga nagsunod. Ila kong gi pray-overan. Pwerteng dali-a ra gyud sa uban mo-conclude nga mo-work ang pray-over. Unsa man ni sila? Maskin pa ug ma-correlate nato nga every time mag-pray-over, mamaayo gyud ang masakiton. Unsaon man nato pagdemonstrate sa causation? Ngano mo-gamit pa man sila ug medisina? So mao to ang “post hoc, ergo propter hoc” nga fallacy. I hope klaro na ni.Straw Man FallacyPadayun ta, lain na pud nga common kaayo nga logical fallacy, kaning gitawag ug “Straw Man Fallacy.”
