Cynthia McKinney was the first African-American woman from Georgia elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1992. With a background in foreign policy, McKinney used her seat on the Armed Services and International Relations Committees to address human rights issues. Steven Woolfe is a former Member of the European Parliament and Director of the Centre for Migration & Economic Prosperity. Geert Vanden Bossche received his DVM from the University of Ghent, Belgium, and his PhD degree in Virology from the University of Hohenheim, Germany. He held adjunct faculty appointments at universities in Belgium and Germany. After his career in Academia, Geert joined several vaccine companies (GSK Biologicals, Novartis Vaccines, Solvay Biologicals) to serve various roles in vaccine R&D as well as in late vaccine development. Geert then moved on to join the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's Global Health Discovery team in Seattle (USA) as Senior Program Officer; he then worked with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) in Geneva as Senior Ebola Program Manager. At GAVI he tracked efforts to develop an Ebola vaccine. He also represented GAVI in fora with other partners, including WHO, to review progress on the fight against Ebola and to build plans for global pandemic preparedness. Back in 2015, Geert scrutinized and questioned the safety of the Ebola vaccine that was used in ring vaccination trials conducted by WHO in Guinea. His critical scientific analysis and report on the data published by WHO in the Lancet in 2015 was sent to all international health and regulatory authorities involved in the Ebola vaccination program. After working for GAVI, Geert joined the German Center for Infection Research in Cologne as Head of the Vaccine Development Office. Dr Craig Wright is the most controversial person I believe I have ever had on my podcast. Numerous people told me not to speak to him, that he is a crook and swindler, and so I decided I wanted to find out for myself.  Craig Wright claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto - the creator of Bitcoin. He has appeared in numerous court cases to argue that very fact, with the result never having proven definitively either way that he is Satoshi - though no court has yet found him to be lying about it either.  Craig believes that BSV is the true Bitcoin, that BTC cannot possibly handle the number of transactions that will be required in the future at an affordable cost and so he has created BSV to solve that problem. Christopher Leonard is the author of the new book The Lords of Easy Money: How the Federal Reserve Broke the American Economy. If you asked most people what forces led to today's unprecedented income inequality and financial crashes, no one would say the Federal Reserve. For most of its history, the Fed has enjoyed the fawning adoration of the press. When the economy grew, it was credited to the Fed. When the economy imploded in 2008, the Fed got credit for rescuing us. But the Fed also has a unique power to reshape the American economy for the worse, which it did, fatefully, on November 4, 2010 through a radical intervention called quantitative easing. In just a few short years, the Fed more than quadrupled the money supply with one goal: to encourage banks and other investors to extend more risky debt. Leaders at the Fed knew that they were undertaking a bold experiment that would produce few real jobs, with long-term risks that were hard to measure. But the Fed proceeded anyway...and then found itself trapped. Once it printed all that money, there was no way to withdraw it from circulation. The Fed tried several times, only to see market start to crash, at which point the Fed turned the money spigot back on. In the last week, both England and Northern Ireland have lifted their covid restrictions, including the vaccine passports, allowing us all to get back to a little more of a normal life. There has been a lot of discussion over the past few years about the impact of Empire, especially with the toppling of the Colston statue and the BLM protests in 2020. However, what is not as often discussed is the financial and corporate legacy left by the British and other European Empires. Kojo Koram is the author of the brand new book, Uncommon Wealth, on this very topic. In this show he walked me through the key points of his book - namely how much of the empire did not disappear with decolonisation, but instead, it morphed into the global corporate/financial empire that has come to dominate the world today.  Dr Kojo Koram is a Lecturer in Law at Birkbeck School of Law, University of London. He joined Birkbeck in September 2018, prior to which he was a Lecturer at the School of Law at the University of Essex between 2016-2018. Before working in academia, Kojo worked in social welfare law, as well as youth work and teaching. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2011 and then received his PhD in 2017. I always thought the phrase "the revolution will not be televised" was a cliche, until 2022 and the Canadian Truckers. There is something approaching a soft revolution happening in Canada right now, truckers, farmers, and other supporters drove a convoy of 10s of thousands across Canada to the capital and have blockaded the area surrounding the parliament for 3 weeks now. They have stated they will not leave until Trudeau resigns or the covid mandates and restrictions have been liften. The media and the Canadian government have claimed that these truckers are a fringe minority of racists, misogynists, and Nazis. They have asked the army to remove them and they refused, they asked the tow truck companies to tow them out and they refused. They have tried to deny truckers blocking a major border crossing to the US from Alberta access to food or water, they threatened to revoke licenses and arrest truckers at the border and in Ottowa - and still the truckers were unmoved, in fact, some rumours have suggested they are only growing in number. The fundraiser set up on Go Fund Me was halted after raising $10 million, so they turned to Bitcoin. The government has made honking and giving gas to truckers illegal, and so they revved their engines instead and the people brought more fuel than ever.  This story, regardless of whether you believe in their cause or not, is truly astounding. This is a battle, occurring in a developed country, where borders are being blocked and the capital city is being occupied and blockaded. And the wildest part yet, it's barely been covered in the mainstream press, the legacy media are acting as if this incredible story is not happening - it's unbelievable. Spencer Jakab, author of The Revolution That Wasn't, all about the GameStop/Memestock saga in January 2021, was my guest on today's show. Don't worry, Spencer hasn't dented my belief in GME. However, this book is well worth a read for anyone interested in the GameStop story! I learnt a lot and felt that, whilst the conclusions were not the ones I was drawing from this story he is clearly knowledgeable about the inner workings of the market and his perspective was really interesting to me - it's clear that as someone deeply involved in finance that Spencer has more belief in the system that most of my guests - but that does not make his opinions irrelevant, if anything it's crucial to help understand the sheer corruption that the GME story is alleging takes place on Wall Street. I think I mention the work of Mark E. Thomas on this show almost as much as I reference Naomi Klein and The Shock Doctrine, so it was a pleasure to have Mark back on the show. Melissa Ciummei first came across my radar after I saw her speak at an anti-vaccine passport protest in Belfast. I've been having a lot of conversations with people about Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies and blockchain technology and about how they are going to change the world of finance.
