It's my twice yearly chat with W Communications founder and CEO Warren Johnson and today it's our 2025 PR Agency Review of the Year.Warren founded W Communications in 2009. It now has global revenues of £25 m and a headcount of 200, with 140 in London and 60 across the rest of the world.Over the next half hour or so Warren and I will discuss the ups and downs of PR agency life over the last 12 months. Before that, the breaking news is that the PRmoment Awards final entry deadline is Friday 23 January. Don't miss the opportunity to create proof points of the quality of your agency's work. Also, check out the speaker programme for our latest PR Masterclass: The Intersection of PR and GEO. It's another stellar line-up.SummaryWarren Johnson rated the PR agency market happiness index for Q1 as "three out of five" due to economic unease, but Q2 improved for W Communications due to diversification and a trend towards "silliness and frivolousness," while they rated Q4 as challenging due to "speurious pitches" and negative sentiment following a "disastrous budget." The discussion also highlighted the strength of corporate and B2B sectors, the volatility of consumer PR, the necessity of innovation and entrepreneurial agency behavior, and the positive impact of fractional hiring which benefits agencies by providing "phenomenally experienced ex clients." Warren predicts that 2026 will be "a real game of two halves," favouring innovative agencies, and expressed skepticism about AI's current efficiency in PR, suggesting it will allow experienced humans to do "even more work" while acting as a "real time bomb" by hindering junior development.DetailsPR Agency Happiness Index (Q1 and Q2) Ben Smith asked Warren Johnson for a hypothetical happiness index of the PR agency market at large, starting with Q1, which Johnson rated as "three out of five," characterizing it as uneasy and jittery due to negative sentiment in the wider economy. Ben Smith recalled starting 2025 positively, though political and geopolitical uncertainty soon challenged that outlook. Warren Johnson suggested that this constant disruption has become the "new normal". For Q2, Johnson noted that W Communications felt "quite good" due to heavy diversification, including spinning off their restaurant business, Chomp, and growing their influencer business, which was showing better monetisation. This period also coincided with a push in pop culture toward "silliness and frivolousness" to escape depressing global issues.Sectoral Performance and Innovation The discussion shifted to the performance of corporate, consumer, and B2B PR sectors in H1. Warren Johnson highlighted that corporate shops are having a moment, with some valuations moving them toward management consultancy models. B2B is thriving, supported by the ascendancy of LinkedIn and technology powered by AI. Consumer PR, however, is more volatile, experiencing good highs but also lows around the budget. Johnson stated that innovation is critical, as they experienced their best trading quarter ever in Q3, driven by diversification into specialized services like influencer and experiential marketing. They emphasized that agencies must be entrepreneurial and reward innovation, suggesting that clients post-COVID have increased their appetite to buy more from agencies.PR Agency Happiness Index (Q3 and Q4) and Economic Climate W Communications experienced their best trading quarter ever in Q3, predominantly driven by consumer work and specialized services due to extensive innovation. Warren Johnson noted that things started to slow down approaching the budget. Q4 was generally challenging due to "speurious pitches."

The BBC Radio 5 show Great Football Songbook, hosted by Colin Murray and Pat Nevin, welcomed Billy Grant from Beesotted for an in-depth look at the stories behind Brentford's most iconic chants. The episode spent a while talking about the legendary Chomp bar story (read the tale here) – a quirky tradition from the terraces where fans famously threw Chomp chocolate bars onto the pitch celebrating a goal, a playful and chaotic moment that perfectly captured the fun-loving spirit of the Bees' supporters. Billy went into great detail, exploring how this cheap sweet treat became a symbol of terrace mischief and fan camaraderie. But the show wasn't just about songs. Billy also reflected on the character of Brentford as a club. For years, the Bees languished in the lower leagues, often producing middling football. Yet, rather than being a hindrance, this shaped a unique club identity. Matchday activities, terrace rituals, and writing original, tongue-in-cheek songs became central to the fan experience — almost a form of gallows humour that allowed supporters to revel in their passion despite modest results on the pitch.Among the highlights discussed were the origins of “Hey Jude” in the terraces, the curious tale of the “Bus Stop in Hounslow”, and the legendary “Bees Up Fulham Down”. Billy also paid homage to Brentford heroes like Danny Boxhall, explaining why he remains the greatest full-back in the club's history.Through it all, the episode painted a vivid picture of how Brentford fans, and their songs, have helped define the club's personality — proving that football culture is often as much about the terraces as it is about the pitch. The full episode is available to listen back on BBC Sounds. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

For EP30 of Chain Reactions, we sat down with Kiko (KZ), co-founder of [Chomp](https://chomp.so/), to dive into one of the most unexpectedly delightful and high-signal consumer products in crypto: a daily opinion game that's part Reddit, part Polymarket, and fully powered by Solana speed and second-order thinking. We explore Kiko's path from working at Mattel and Deloitte to leading business at Orca and ultimately co-founding Chomp — and how her background in user research, education, and design at IDEO helped shape her vision for what trustworthy information markets should look like in a world flooded with AI-generated noise.Kiko breaks down how Chomp uses game mechanics to turn subjective questions into trusted signal, what she's learned from thousands of hours of user research, and why streaks, cute mascots, and good vibes might be the secret to onboarding the next million users to crypto. We also cover the deeper mechanics behind Chomp's surprisingly powerful prediction engine — including Bayesian Truth Serum and why betting on second-order beliefs yields alpha. If you're building in consumer crypto, curious about the future of trustless UX, or just want a smarter way to kill time on the toilet — this one's for you. Please enjoy, and as always, be sure to subscribe, give us a five star review, and mint our episode at https://pods.media/myosinxyz!

The Florida Gators are kings of college basketball after the dust settled on an all-time Final Four in San Antonio. We got Matt Norlander emptying the notebook on everything he saw, reported, and took in from the weekend (plus a bunch of stuff that didn't make it into the final edit - including some great behind-the-scenes nuggets at the Alamodome). Plenty of stuff on Florida's title, but also the Houston story, the Duke collapse, and the Auburn squad that ended up finishing a distant 4th in terms of storylines from the Final Four. There is a lot to get to, the guys run through it all in reverse chronological order, and we put a bow on the basketball season as only we can here on CSN - which means Norlander's recap of the Pit Bull & Lionel Richie shows he took in during the San Antonio trip!See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The pudding family started out as a pretty ok family but an un BEAR able name. Well as pudding sis, dad, mom, son was in Maryland. But not the Maryland you know. A different Maryland far away in a place unknown. This was the Maryland NOBODY could handle. Bearly nobody went there. Nobody was brave enough to live there. The the pudding family had no other choice. Every other part of baR.E 16 would take them. They went to barell. They threw rocks at them. What about pokelans? No, the towns folk nearly cooked them for harvest. This would happen everywhere except for Maryland wher it basically is hell. Fire. Bottomless pits out of nowhere. Like a no man's land. And they had no other option. There was no food. And the family had to resort to.. cannibalism! Well they would let burning people die before they did and besides they're already cooked in fire so it won't feel bad for them. After a few years of this weird life style, they took a MASSIVE liking to it and even got their hands on human world items! The dad to a shot gun and the son got a knife! They would become killers. But they had to share of course, but they end up finding their own weapons. After this this they kept their weapons but baR. E 16 was very unstable and could collapse at moments so the residents of the planet had to think quickly before the planet imploded. So the others had to eat others and save what's left of their belongings to escape using a rocket the dad built. As everyone saw the rocket, they tried to grab on to escape. As the pudding family climbed in. As many people tried to get on but it sent off into space. Leaving their home world behind. They looked back in disbelief and landed in a place a lot like earth but in a different galaxy called orthit. And they had phones, cars and all the essential items. Even thing we on earth are still figuring out his to make! So they had nothing to worry about. As they stole items from shops nearby, they found a hidden shelter. So they quickly hid. So after they decided to try use the goods they stole. And pudding son used his phone to do stuff, he was quickly learning the basics and learned apps. And he had found a kids app called CHOMP and quickly recognised the face. it was PUDDING SON? (at the time before baR.E 16 was destroyed, he was really popular there for being brave enough to survive a full year on Maryland and other universes pick this up and liked pudding son for his braveness not knowing their true side. Also pudding son found a box, randomly on the floor to use, he quickly learned how to use it, and what it was. It was a Human keeper. It was simple enough, like Pokemon. It sucks up any matter, DNA, any Human like form it can take! So he used it, and grew his army, stronger and stronger! (More on that soon) But pudding son did NOT take this as a good gesture, so he found out where they were located and found the workers at the company. And got very mad. He pulled his knife out and sliced nearly everyone. So one worker was his behind a chair and pudding son saw them and said "WHAT DUMB IDEA DID YOU GET TO MAKE THIS?" and he charged at the worker who jumped out the way as he flew into the screen. And was trapped! And had no way out. So he met the other cartoonist creations in the game as they all greeted them but he wasn't having it. So he decided to stab them untill they would bleed out and jump in theater body, somehow duplicate himself and make the previous owner of the body worship pudding son shouting his name ever so often, Untill he sucks them up into the cube, they follow protecting him untill they die. He would do this Coutless times to all the people in the game. Untill he reached the end and had enough clones to reach to the top of the boarder of the game and saw the computer screen. He finally crawled out. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
