Claire O'Sullivan and Kitty Wilson Brown are two inspiring people who are passionate about the properties and potential of hemp, especially for textiles. Their journey together led them to found a UK business, Contemporary Hempery. Hemp has amazing potential, for a wide range of products, and it's brilliant for regenerative farming practices – so why aren't we doing more with it? It's useful as a textile, in construction, in food and personal care products, and as an alternative to plastic. But although cultivation is increasing and being encouraged by the European Union, elsewhere it's a different picture. Kitty and Claire outline some of the uses of hemp across different sectors, about the little-known history of hemp growing in the UK, and some of the ways it was used – many of them absolutely essential to our industrial evolution. We'll also hear about some of the current issues, in terms of hemp production and processing. Kitty and Claire also share the story of how they came together, the amazing coincidences that sparked their interest and what drove them to start Contemporary Hempery, to embark on this long and complex journey to rescue hemp for regenerative, contemporary textiles.

It's a rare occasion when an Amazon executive sits down with an Amazon podcaster to do an interview addressing sellers. To my knowledge, today is quite possibly an industry first! It was truly and honor to be honest. Claire O'donnell is the director of Seller Partner Empowerment and "Communities & Trust" at Amazon. She's has about 700 employees in her organization at Amazon who are all in "seller facing" positions - meaning they are focused on building connections and trust with sellers like you and me - in other words, provenamazoncourse.com students. Her teams manage things like the Account Health Dashboard, the Seller Support Team, the Seller Forums and the Amazon Accelerate event which was attended recently by 2,500 of your fellow sellers from around the world in Seattle. We were there and had the honor of interviewing Claire for a few minutes during her busy schedule as the primary host of the incredible event. Perhaps the biggest win for us at the event (and for you as well) is that we continue to build great relationships with seller facing personalities at Amazon - and that helps us stay better in tune with the true opportunities that Amazon represents for all of us. While we had scheduled 30 minutes with Claire, her schedule was understandably shortened due to the tight schedule of the Amazon Accelerate event, but we did get in some solid questions and this is a great step in the direction of building solid relationships on both sides of the Amazon/seller aisle. On episode 122 I am delighted to be joined by one of Ireland's best ever female basketball players Claire O'Sullivam (nee Rockall). Claire grew up in Galway before spending time in the US playing college basketball. She returned to Cork and joined Glanmire and since then has cemented herself as one of Ireland's greatest female athletes. In 2009 Claire was a member of the Senior Women's team that qualified for the Eurobasket but due to funding issues the senior team was disbanded, robbing Claire the opportunity to compete at the Eurobasket level during her prime. Despite this she has over 25 senior caps and accumulated an incredible list of accolades playing in our domestic leagues. O'Sullivan returned to play Superleague with Glabnmire after giving birth to her daughter Emma and in 2023 captured the Superleague title with impressive performances throughout the season. She continued this into the summer as she suited up for the Senior Women's 3x3 team in Cyprus. So take a listen and learn from a future unanimous Basketball Hall of famer Claire as she gives us an insight into her mentality and work ethic that helped her become the player she is today. Ep 116: Music Ally Editor Joe Sparrow is joined by A Greener Future CEO and cofounder Claire O'Neill. Claire O'Neill and A Greener Future say that they help you find the path through to… well, a greener future. AGF: agreenerfuture.com T. Claire O'Keefe has an impressive resume in the wealth management industry. As Partner and the Head of Partner Development in Cerity Partners' Chicago office, she also serves as member of the company's Executive Committee. Prior to her roles at Cerity Partners, Claire has held leadership positions at two wealth management firms, where she was responsible for: Strategic planning Client Development Advisory services to affluent individuals, business owners, executives, and nonprofit organizations. Claire is a strong advocate for philanthropy, and has served on the Henry Viscardi School Board of Trustees, as well as being involved with other charitable organizations. A PHILOSOPHY TO DOING MERGERS Cerity Partners view themselves as a partner and not an aggregator, and believe in bringing together like-minded professionals to benefit clients and colleagues. Their vision is to build a global professional services firm for wealth management, both for high-net-worth clients and workplace wealth management for executives. When considering potential new partners, they look for key areas of alignment, including: Culture Target clientele Value proposition Business model BUILDING A NATIONAL FOOTPRINT In order to build a national footprint and brand recognition, the distinction of integrator or aggregator is important in terms of their growth, exit, and funding strategy. Cerity Partners is an integrated firm, meaning they have: One brand One technology stack Equal payroll and benefits for all colleagues They use this model in order to build a national footprint and brand recognition. They integrate technology, data, and operations when they acquire other firms, but they do not force or accelerate integration, prioritizing a consistent client and colleague experience. The assimilation of colleagues is a day-one priority, while technology integration can take longer as they make sure to map data and user requirements. THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING VISION, MISSION, AND VALUE PROPOSITION Part of building recognition for your firm is having a vision, a mission and value proposition is paramount to success. Vision: Setting your vision is effectively the blueprint to how you want your firm to approach business, and allows for you to set a clear mission. Mission: By having a solid mission, your firm and clients are aware of what you can do for their business, and exactly how you will achieve that for them. Value Proposition: This is arguably the most important aspect to set in order to attract clients. Value proposition offers customers what distinguishes you from competitors. With over 800 colleagues and serving about 15,000 clients across 20 markets, Cerity Partners manages about $65 billion in assets. While these are impressive numbers, Cerity Partners prioritizes forming relationships with exceptional people over the quantity of deals it has completed. This aligns with their vision, mission, and value proposition. All of this combined allows Cerity Partners to be very attractive to specifically G2 advisors,. FACING A MARKET DOWNTURN I've said many times, market fluctuations are one of the truths in business. We've discussed in the past how it's important to not rely solely on the market or the news cycle to dictate your deals. (For more: listen to Episode 220, “The Art of Balancing Market Conditions and Client Motivations in Deals.”) For Cerity Partners, Claire emphasizes that they are looking for full merger, and not partial investments. They are flexible on the mix of cash and equity in the deal, and they allow partners to take equity as part of the merger. They are transparent with the valuation structure and consider expenses that would be eliminated after the merger to increase the EBITDA and apply a multiple to it. They believe in the growth opportunity of coming together. Despite the market downturn, their firm's interest continues to be at an all-time high because of this approach to mergers. Cerity Partners continues to invest in the resources and infrastructure required to optimize their pillars, and is agile in experimenting and changing things to continue growth. • • • FOR MORE ON CLAIRE O'KEEFE AND CERITY PARTNERS: http://www.linkedin.com/in/m-claire-o-keefe-305b539 https://ceritypartners.com/ Corey Kupfer is an expert strategist, negotiator, and dealmaker. History has not remembered some fabulous women writers - even the woman who gave us the term 'fairy tale' to start with! Meet Madame D'Aulnoy and hear about her wonderful fairy tales and why author Claire O'Brien is retelling them now. Claire and Julia Golding broaden the conversation to discuss the power of fairy tales, how they have been selected and retold. Rediscovery of old ones without the familiar tropes is a wonderful place for a fantasy writer to go for inspiration. Do you have a favourite retelling - or a least favourite - on film or TV? See if you agree with Julia and Claire. Oh yes, and what exactly has Bridgerton got to do with it all...? Visit https://oxfordcentreforfantasy.org/mythmakers

All Rise Up - A Podcast To Support Your Network Marketing Business
This is a podcast episode on stories and topics that have been on my mind this week. I've loosely considered what is happening in my life this week, in my business, and things that are inspiring thought within me. I also chat about a polarising ad on the inter webs and whilst I thought about adding a disclaimer and MORE info on the nuance I see after the initial record, I have left it as is. If you do not agree with what I have said or what my opinion is (or comes across as) for whatever reason, I do want you to know I understand there is nuance to this topic and if you think I'm wrong then that is okay and you're right. These are simply our truths. You may or may not believe this, but I was really shy as a kid. A true wallflower. It was so painful. I was the kid that didn't know why I felt so out of place. After meeting Claire O'Hanlon, writer, entrepreneur, coach, and speaker, I felt like I met a kindred spirit. Claire is a wealth of knowledge on what it means to be shy or introverted. She explained to me that you can be a shy or introverted leader, and they are not one and the same. If you are shy or are naturally introverted, this show is for you! During my conversation with Claire, we discussed: 1. What the difference is between shyness and introversion 2. If shyness is a learned behavior or genetic 3. The moment when Claire decided she was no longer going to be shy 4. Claire's favorite quote and how it guides her actions 5. How you can be a shy or introverted leader 6. On the show today, I welcome Claire O'Bryan, certified nurse practitioner, rabble-rouser, wellness warrior, host of the DabbleCo Podcast, and Co-Founder of The Skin Clique. The DabbleCo Podcast is the latest addition to the OffScrip Health Podcast Network, and, I promise you, it's well worth your time to subscribe to this show wherever you already listen to your podcasts. Claire joined me in studio for a fabulous discussion about the trials, tribulations, and modern-day challenges facing nurses and NPs against the backdrop of burnout and mental health. We also dive into the ridiculous jargon and artificial language woven into consumer consciousness that tricks us into thinking everyday foods and health/beauty products are good for us—words like "All natural," "Organic," "Homemade," and so on. Twas a great chat with an incredibly talented and inspiring human. Enjoy the show.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Roe v Wade has been overturned. Now what? I don't know. So if you'd like to listen to me ramble for 30 minutes on what a difficult, nuanced cluster this is … please tune in. I would like to thank everyone for their thoughtful dialogue and commentary as I expected much worse - but it just goes to show me that MOST of us feel some of the same way I do… that this conversation is simply not black and white, and it's not easy. But here we are and we must continue to talk. Tune in for my unclear, scattered chat. Tell me I'm not the only one that didn't have a skincare routine until I entered my thirties. I've come a long way, but have yet to pull the trigger on Botox. It seems like it's such a hot topic right now, and I can't say I haven't had questions about Botox myself. I invited my guest, Claire O'Bryan, on the podcast to answer all the questions about injections. She debunks a lot of myths that circle around Botox, some that even surprised me! Claire O'Bryan is a nurse practitioner, wife, mother of two girls and the host of the Dabble Co Podcast. She has been in practice since 2010 where she started out in oncology. Oncology is where she had her first interaction with injections, often used as a form of treatment with cancer patients. She co-founded a national concierge esthetics practice called the Skin Clique where she has taken her knowledge of Botox to the cosmetic arena.
