In this episode Lisa shares her survival story and teaches us about the subtle and overt forms of domestic abuse and interpersonal violence. There are multiple ways this can manifest (lovebombing, gaslighting, sexual violence, physical violence, emotional abuse, reproductive control, financial control, stalking) and many victims have difficulty recognizing that may be experiencing abuse due to the secret and pervasive nature of the issue. Lisa's story helps us to better understand some of the cycles and patterns that may exist behind closed doors even in, sometimes especially in the lives of those we may consider to be "perfect couples". What she shares is so important to understand. And, she leaves us with so much hope. The strength and courage that survivors like Lisa embody is awe-inspiring, to say the least. Lisa describes what it's taken to find some semblance of peace, soothe her mind, body and spirit, and repair her relationships with her children. Hearing her speak with tenderness and tenacity is an honor and helps us to understand that sometimes, the issues we don't think we can bear to look at are the ones that need our attention the most. This is that.Show Notes:Lisa's Coaching Business, Helvick CoachingFollow on Instagram For statewide resources please visit the Linking Infants and Families to Supports athttps://hmhb-lifts.org/

Mea's life today as a mum of 5 in her early 30s looks very different to how it did just a few years ago. Through her 20s she was stuck in marriage as a victim of relentless and brutal domestic abuse with unimaginable violence and cruelty.Mea bravely opens up about her past and how she managed to survive and rebuild her life. By sharing her story, she hopes to empower others to find their own strength and use their voice to make a difference.I absolutely adore Mea and I know you guys will too. This is part three of three parts.Stephanie always had a hard road ahead of her. From the moment she was adopted, there were scant times when life showed her an easy path. And yet, she has continually remained ultra-positive. It's clear the one person Stephanie believed in most was herself. Listening to her story, your heart will go out to her years before she ever met up with Michael. It's a good thing, because this man brought pure hell into her life for three years.Stephanie's saving grace came when she heard of a law enforcement veteran and threat assessment investigator who specialized in intimate partner violence. Working together, they were able to turn the tables on Stephanie's boyfriend, her serial abuser and despicable person, Michael. This WHEN DATING HURTS episode comes with a "trigger warning". This story is intended to show how bad domestic violence can get. It demonstrates in raw terms how one person can inflict pain and suffering without mercy upon another.By definition, this story does arrive at a positive ending. Slam the Gavel welcomes Kenneth Vignali back to the podcast. He was last on Season 4, Episodes 39 and 85. He is joined with Cynthia Eufracio to discuss her story of POLICE BRUTALITY brought on by DOMESTIC VIOLENCE and false allegations. Cynthia is a divorced mother of four children with three daughters who are underage and rely on their mother. The biological fathers are not active in the children's lives. Cynthia had dated a friend from middle school who she knew most of her life but she never saw the red flags of what would happen DECADES after they had met. They began dating for several months and they never lived together. Then the abuse started happening. The abuser was charged with burglary of habitation with a hate crime. Cynthia ended the relationship two months prior without telling him. On July 3rd, 2020 the abuser broke into her home in Cypress, TX. Cynthia and her daughters were in living room and she had saw the look in his eyes that she had never seen before and feared for their lives. Cynthia attempted to remain as calm as possible as her daughters witnessed a brutal attack, the mental damage and constant fear has been a struggle for the entire family. Luckily, a neighbor had seen the abuser and called law enforcement. The abuser then fled the scene. Cynthia then took her three daughters and left everything to seek a safe place in fear he would come back and murder them. Law enforcement reached out to Cynthia to press charges her abuser due to the murder threats. She and her children were relocated and assisted with a Magistrate Order of Emergency Protection and placed with a DV organization who assisted in relocating and moving expenses. However, the abuse never stopped. Kenneth Vignali helped investigate the abuses, cyberstalking and provided physical security for Cynthia and her family. Kenneth also witnessed attempted kidnappings and helped to intervene when there were murder attempts. He witnessed the POLICE BRUTALITY that took place April 2022 in Katy, TX where she was falsely arrested for defending her family on her property against attackers. Since then Cynthia has been fighting against the city, POLICE BRUTALITY and abuses by CPS and her immediate family who all have been COLLUDING to REMOVE her from the picture using any means possible: staging kidnapping attempts, falsifying CPS reports and severe Parental Alienation.Websites and Contact information: To Reach Cynthia Eufracio: dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.com This episode of Slam the Gavel is sponsored by CPSprotect Consulting Services. The prevailing stereotype about dating (and domestic) violence is that it mostly happens in the toughest parts of towns and cities. You know, the most depressed parts. And that's not true at all.It can happen anywhere. My guest on the WHEN DATING HURTS Podcast, Mikkel Becker, is a domestic and dating abuse survivor. She grew up in a perfect, loving nuclear family. Everything seemed absolutely right, but still she once she left her home, she became lost within abusive relationships. In dating and in marriage, more than once Mikkel thought she had met the perfect guy for her and—more than once—she did not.Listen to my conversation with Mikkel. You will find this could happen to anyone you know. You can reach out to Mikkel at Mikkel.becker@fearfreepets.com. MARIE MOSLEY, a domestic abuse survivor and author from New York, will join us to discuss all that she has gone through in life - including giving birth to a child at age 14; being a victim of domestic violence, drugs, alcohol, infidelity, and more - and how she has come out on the other side happier and healthier than ever, and how she is helping women escape similar situations. She is also the author of the book, "The Pretty Divorce". FROM HER BIO and WEBSITE: "I was a mom at fourteen years old and stayed in a very toxic relationship for twenty-five years, and had three more children. This relationship consisted of domestic violence, drugs, alcohol, infidelity on both parts, and so much more. As much as people believe side relationships are bad, and I will say I have to agree, for the most part, however, I must admit my side relationship saved my life. I was able to come out of the relationship, with a master's degree and become a school counselor. I was also able to love again and allow someone to truly love me. My book depicts my story from the beginning. How I grew up without my father after he dies, my mom left with six children, the tragic death of my sister and niece, being a teenage mom, and the side relationship that saved me from suicide. But the main premise is about divorce from all toxic relationships and other toxic situations that deserve a divorce. I believe all women have the ability to come out of toxic relationships, create brighter futures for themselves, and have healthy relationships with men that truly love them if they so choose to do so. For the first podcast of 2022, I decided to come right out of the gate setting the groundwork for this year. My word for 2022 is visibility. This will be a year of transparency, honesty, and standing tall in my truth, while sharing my experiences and those of my clients so that you recognize that you are not alone, that other women you never would suspect have experienced trauma in their lives as well. You would be surprised to learn how many women in leadership are miserable in their relationships and or are in abusive marriages. You can't always tell from the outside. This I know, because I hid my domestic violence experience for years. The shame, embarrassment, and paralysis that comes with it kept me silent, keeps you silent. I could have chosen bitterness in a life where I'd never learned to trust or believe in love again in order to play it safe. Instead, I chose joy. Join me inside the episode as I share my journey from domestic abuse survivor to executive relationship coach for women and the ‘why' behind my passion for coaching. Be sure to head on over to the show notes to download this episode should you ever need a reminder that you are not alone in your struggles. Also, check the show notes for the links to the resources mentioned in this episode. See you inside. What You'll Learn: That if you've suffered from domestic abuse, you are not alone!
