“There was no way I was going to sign a statement saying that I was racist or that all white people were racist or that all of any race was anything. So I refused to sign it.” Nicole Levitt, an attorney who represents domestic violence survivors, recently filed a discrimination complaint against her employer, Women Against Abuse, for, among other things, asking white staffers to sign declarations that all white people are racist, including themselves, she says. She shares her story with us, and why she believes woke ideology has corrupted the mission of her employer, one of the largest domestic violence nonprofits in America. “There were a lot of discussions about defunding the police … [but] our clients need the police to stop the abuse. … What is the social worker going to do in one of these violent situations? Domestic violence situations are some of the most deadly calls for police officers,” Levitt says. Tweet LIVE this Sunday, March 25th at 635pm Small Bites with Glenn Gross and Derek Timm of Bluejeanfood.com on Wildfire Radio returns with another stellar lineup. Some might even say a ROCKING lineup. We welcome Paul Green A.K.A the Godfather of Rock School Education and founder of School of Rock which was portrayed in the Hollywood movie “School of Rock” played by Jack Black. Paul returns home to Philadelphia to launch the PGRA Philly Paul Green Rock Academy. Twenty years since he opened a modest music school in Philly based on his ardent belief that kids would rather learn by rocking on stage. Well Paul Green has returned home to teach performance-based music again in the city where he founded the original School of Rock en route to revolutionizing music education across the nation. But this time, the Godfather of Rock School Education is starting small - and keeping it that way – to create The Greatest Music School in the Country. Unlike the School of Rock model, Green's new school is an audition-only “Master's Program in Rock Music” for kids “with big dreams and the chops to back them up.” In other words, serious musicians who need to already have “the gift of rock” before they even meet the man who gave it to an entire generation. The Paul Green Rock Academy is located 6183 Ridge Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19128. Serious musicians, aged 10-18, who are interested in auditioning should write to info@paulgreenrock.com. Complete information at www.paulgreenrock.com. Another well-known name around Philadelphia was Ben Franklin. We are happy to welcome Rae Katherine Eighmey the author of “Stirring the Pot with Benjamin Franklin: A Founding Father's Culinary Adventures” from Smithsonian Books. Stirring the Pot with Benjamin Franklin is a remarkable culinary biography that explores Benjamin Franklin's life through the foods he favored and served. It includes sixty-two kitchen-tested recipes based on period sources from colonial Boston and Philadelphia, England, and France, all deliciously adapted for the modern kitchen. Stirring the Pot with Benjamin Franklin conveys all of Franklin's culinary adventures, demonstrating that Franklin's love of food shaped not only his life but also the character of the young nation he helped build. Perfect for inquisitive cooks and history lovers alike, this book will inspire you to never think of Franklin in quite the same way again. Rae Katherine Eighmey is an award-winning author, food historian, and cook. She is the author of numerous books, including Abraham Lincoln in the Kitchen, Soda Shop Salvation, and Food Will Win the War. Then we welcome Jenn Segal who is the founder of Once Upon A Chef, a popular blog showcasing easy, family-friendly recipes from a chef's point of view. Her recipes have been featured on numerous websites, magazines, and television programs, including The HuffPost ABC 7 News - WJLA's Good Morning Washington, and PARADE Magazine.com. Before starting her blog, Jenn cooked at the acclaimed L'Auberge Chez Francois and was director of marketing for a prominent restaurant group. She is joining us to talk about her new book “Once Upon a Chef, the Cookbook: 100 Tested, Perfected, and Family-Approved Recipes” from Chronicle Books. Jenn cooks dinner for her family every night, and in her book, she shares 100 recipes that will up your kitchen game while surprising you with their ease. With the authority of a professional chef and the practicality of a busy working mom, Jenn teaches you to improve your cooking one recipe at a time, with helpful tips on topics such as how to season correctly with salt, how to balance flavors, and how to make the most of leftovers. This is the book you'll turn to again and again, and with Jenn by your side in the kitchen, every meal will taste like the best night out! We are thrilled to welcome back in studio Marilyn Johnson of Philly Grub, who is another prolific blogger covering all food related topics around the Philadelphia area. Philly Grub is a Philadelphia food news, reviews, and scene blog showcasing all that is good about eating and drinking in Philadelphia and South Jersey. It is one of Philadelphia's longest-running blogs. Marilyn will be in studio to chat about "Dish It Up" presented by Women Against Abuse happening Wednesday, March 28th 6pm at Cescaphe Event Group's Vie. Dish it Up provides delicious culinary delights and a mission focused evening of fun for more than 500 guests in celebration of the movement against domestic violence. Dish It Up is the only fundraising event and food tasting competition in Philadelphia featuring all female chefs. Dish It Up provides women leading the way in Philadelphia's culinary arts with an opportunity to showcase their skills—and all for a great cause! Marilyn will be a judge for the event joined by other judges; Michael Klein who is a restaurant columnist at the The Philadelphia Inquirer/Philadelphia Daily News and philly.com, Diana Sabater who is Food Network's Ultimate Grand Chopped Champion and Owner of Diana's Spice Cantina, Chef Roberta Pipito an Award winning chef as well as a food and beer/wine connoisseur as well as runs Homemade Delish, Chef Chef Rick Tarantino a Professional chef and media personality with QVC, and Small Bites very own Chef Barbie Marshall. Last, but certainly not least we welcome Mark Rossi the owner of A Taste of Philly - Ice Cream Parlor/Coffee Shop out of West Deptford, NJ in studio. After winning awards, gaining many fans, and countless television appearances regarding their “pickle nickel” pretzels, it all came to crashing halt when a fire closed their business.
