Ever feel like your book will never be finished? I get it. I believe every author hits that point when they doubt, question, and even want to give up. But pushing through those moments is what separates a dream from reality. Once your book is done, a whole new journey begins: publishing and sharing your message with the world. And this journey doesn't have to be one you take alone. The right strategies, partnerships, and community support can make all the difference in turning your book into a tool that amplifies your business impact. I work with authors to ensure their books reach the readers who need them most and drive meaningful engagement. My strategic book launch program focuses on building connections that matter—conversations, media opportunities, and business growth. If you're ready to take your book to the next level, schedule a complimentary book launch brainstorming session at www.BookLaunchBrainstorm.com. Now, it's my pleasure to introduce our panelists, who will share what it's really like to be a business author. Marva Bailer is the author of “Be Unexpected: Resetting Routines to Revolutionize the Future of Work,” a fresh, high-energy guide to building authentic connections and mastering soft skills in the modern workplace—offering creative, real-world strategies that turn everyday interactions into powerful opportunities for influence and impact. Sandra Long wrote multiple books about LinkedIn, including “Jumpstart Your Linkedin Profile: 67 Actionable Tips” and “LinkedIn for Personal Branding: The Ultimate Guide.” She is a LinkedIn Top Voice specializing in LinkedIn education and thought leadership. Stacey Larsen is the author of “Reframing The Leadership Dance: The Secret to Finding Your Rhythm as a People Leader,” which explores innovative leadership approaches. The book emphasizes the importance of adaptability and self-discovery in fostering effective leadership practices and navigating complex organizational landscapes. Please join me in welcoming Marva, Sandra, and Stacey. In this episode, we discuss the following:
Free full-episode cross-over with the Bang-Bang Podcast. Van (minus Lyle) is joined by historian David Austin Walsh to explore episodes 10-12 of Andor's first-season finale. Their conversation focuses on Andor's embrace of revolution and the surprising political realism of the show's portrayal of labor exploitation and social uprisings. Van and David also discuss liberalism's failure to inspire meaningful change in the real world—why has no electoral politician in our lifetime ever roused our souls like Marva did in episode's 12's revolt on the planet Ferrix? What might that say about the rise of fascism in the 2020s?Check out the Bang-Bang Podcast: https://www.bangbangpod.comSubscribe to the Un-Diplomatic Newsletter: https://www.un-diplomatic.com
In Florida they’re calling her ‘MAGA Marva’ Johnson, the ally of Governor DeSantis who is very nearly the 13th president of the historically Black university, FAMU. How did we get here, where a nominee who is roundly rejected by the community is STILL being lifted to the highest office? And what happens next? ANDOR SEASON 2 – Episodes 10-12 Huddled together in the dim light of the One Of Us Rebel Alliance Headquarters, proudly declaring the words Marva taught us: “Fight the Empire!”, Nathan, Neil and T.C. unpack the final three episodes of Andor Season 2, a stunning and sobering conclusion that leads us directly into the events […]
Send us a textThe rebellion begins not with lightsabers or space battles, but with a stirring speech in a prison manufacturing facility. "Never more than 12" – four words that change everything. Andor's brilliance lies in showing us the human side of rebellion through the eyes of ordinary people making extraordinary choices. As we explore the second half of Season 1, we witness Cassian's journey from selfish survivor to reluctant revolutionary. The Narkina 5 prison sequence stands as one of Star Wars' greatest achievements – a sterile nightmare where electrical floors and dehumanizing routines break spirits until Andy Serkis' unforgettable "One way out" speech ignites hope and action.Meanwhile, Marva's death becomes the catalyst for Ferrix's uprising, showing how even in loss, rebellion finds its voice. Her posthumous message, delivered through her faithful droid B2EMO, transforms grief into defiance. We discuss how Star Wars uniquely portrays droids not as machines seeking humanity but as unique life forms with their own emotional landscape. B2EMO's dog-like devotion provides some of the season's most heartbreaking moments.Throughout our conversation, we return to an intriguing question: Is Cassian guided by something greater? Though the Force is never explicitly mentioned, his uncanny ability to be exactly where the rebellion needs him suggests cosmic significance. Luthen's inexplicable decision to recruit Cassian, despite the security risk, hints at forces beyond rational calculation. Perhaps Andor serves as an instrument of the Force without wielding it himself – a messenger carrying hope across the galaxy. What makes Andor revolutionary isn't just its gritty portrayal of life under Empire, but its celebration of how ordinary people become the backbone of resistance. Through exceptional writing, nuanced performances, and philosophical depth, it elevates Star Wars storytelling to new heights while remaining true to the hope that has always defined the franchise.Listen as we break down the masterful storytelling that makes this not just great Star Wars, but simply great television. Rix Road is….the turning point, when a people pushed too far stand up and fight. After escaping from Narkina 5, Cassian Andor receives the shocking news that his beloved adopted mother Marva has died, and returns to Ferrix to try and make sense of things. Learning that Bix has been grabbed he will team up with community fixture Brasso to mount a daring rescue. Meanwhile, all of the disparate forces descend upon Marva's funeral for their own shot at Andor: Karn, Dedra, and the Empire to capture him, Vel, Cinta, and Luthen to kill him to protect the Resistance. But they will all be jolted awake by Marva's own eulogy, delivered from beyond the grave, as she lights the flame of the Rebellion, and shows them all that the path to the downfall of the Empire, begins right here, on the Rix Road.Chapters Introduction (00:00:00) Rix Road Roundtable (00:06:30) Notes and Links Check out Escape Hatch Merch! Welcome to another author panel for my rebranded podcast, the Biz Book Publishing Hub! These authors participated in one of my Kindle Cross-Promotion campaigns, in which business authors lowered their Kindle book prices to 99 cents or $1.99. I organize these twice a year around Amazon Prime Days and Black Friday. 100+ authors work collaboratively to spread the word and boost book sales. Each time, dozens of books reach #1 Best Seller in at least one category, and 7 out of 10 books reach the Top 10 for at least one category. It's been a great way to generate interest in evergreen books published many years earlier and celebrate recent publications. The best part is that our collaboration doesn't end when the campaign is over. Nearly every author opted to sign up for an author panel after the event. These panel discussions focus on the ROI of publishing a business book. With me today are three authors: Jan Raeder authored “Strive for M.O.R.E.: What Wellbeing Really Means & How You Can Achieve It.” John Saunders wrote “The Optimizer: Building and Leading a Team of Serial Innovators.” Marva Bailer is the author of “Be Unexpected: Resetting Routines to Revolutionize the Future of Work.” Please join me in welcoming Jan, John, and Marva. In this episode, we discuss:

Janisha Jones (sibling) & Marva Austin (advocate) about Kaltron Boone. Karlton was convicted of first- degree murder and sentenced to 38 years in prison. Marva (advocate) states that Karlton did not commit this murder and there is no evidence and only the testimony of one person who was present at the scene of the crime. Janisha shares with Gam and Mz Gogetta that her “brother did sell drugs but that doesn't mean he did a murder and he didn't do that”. Karlton charges should be vindicated says Marva. Karlton denies knowing anything about the murder however; he does state that he was cordial with the young man who told the police that he was the one who committed the crime. Gam did ask the ladies where was Karlton doing the time the crime actually happened meanwhile; Janisha stated that he was with his girlfriend. Karlton has been in prison for the last 8 years...

It's a new episode of Yaddle Chattle and it's a good one, Leias and Jedimen! Join Darth David and Jedi Jared for the most insane and inspired Star Wars talk in the Galaxy! The cosmic duo read messages from a few Yaddle-Heads who feel Darth David was too hard on Jedi Jared last week...but, hey...that's what Siths do! All is well, though, as the two Force users discuss Peter Mayhew and a shady Chewbacca auction, Return Of The Jedi panel at Star Wars Celebration this year, an Andor creator officially states that Marva was going to say a curse word in the show (the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the F-dash-dash-dash word), new DC Chief James Gunn compliments Star Wars while discussing DC, did the Clone Troopers get mass-murdered by the first Stormtrooper class, Bad Batch episodes 7 and 8 review as they bring back Emperor Palpatine, Star Wars Cage Match: Palpatine Vs. Yoda, and so much more! It's an excellent and epic episode that you need to experience today! BOOM!
Kate Wolf and Eric Newman are joined by author De'Shawn Charles Winslow to speak about his novel, Decent People. The book is set in the fictional small town of West Mills, North Carolina, and takes place in 1976, when West Mill is still segregated. It focuses on a crime: the calculated murder of three siblings in their home. Marian, Marva, and Lazarus Harmon have been found dead, and there are plenty of people to suspect of having wanted to kill them, including their half-brother Lymp, whose fiancé Jo is determined to prove his innocence; Eunice, an acquaintance from church whose teenage son Marian has wronged; Savannah, who was close friends with Marva and shared a drug habit with her; and Savannah's father, Ted, who served as the landlord of the siblings' pediatric practice in town. Alternating perspectives between many of these characters, the novel untangles the tightly knit and interrelated stories of people in a community who know each other intimately—sometimes too intimately for comfort—and considers the ways in which the need for privacy and autonomy can corrode into secrecy, even conspiracy, as well as the harmful effects of racism and homophobia across decades. Also, Kathryn Ma, author of The Chinese Groove, returns to recommend Gish Jen's short story collection Thank You, Mr. Nixon.
On episode 97 of the “De Facto Leaders” podcast, I had the opportunity to interview SLP and Related Services Director, Marva Mount. Marva is a nationally recognized speaker on issues regarding public school speech and language services. She is a published chapter author, and has been awarded the Hall of Fame Award for outstanding contributions to the field of speech pathology by her state organization. In addition, Marva is a distinguished fellow in the National Academies of Practice, and has served school-aged populations from ages 3 to 22 for almost 40 years. She currently works for Imagine Learning.Marva has made a career out of going the extra mile, never afraid to ask for things and share her ideas; which eventually led to an official leadership position. However, she was acting like a leader even before it was officially in her job title, which is why I thought she'd be a great guest to share her experiences advocating for the profession and her caseload. In this conversation, we discussed:✅Common mistakes clinicians make when starting conversations with leadership or asking for what they need. ✅Tips for learning the habits, tendencies of preferences of building leaders and other team members so you can build trust and get your ideas heard. ✅Why administrators frequently say “No” to requests from their staff, and how to increase the chances that you'll get a “Yes”. Marva passes away, and we see the droid B2EMO very sad. I think B2EMO might have his consciousness put into a K2SO droid, making him K2SO from Rogue One who hangs with Cassian. Not only is there a war declared on Black Americans but all colors and creeds are in the middle of the crossfire and in the end, there is no amount of justice that can replace those individuals slain by law enforcement and whose extrajudicial executions become political fodder for national outrage. Before the shooting deaths of Breonna Taylor and Trayvon Martin, there was Aaron Campbell, who was shot in the back and killed by Portland police in 2010. The targeting of Black people as a vulnerable but potentially significant oppositional force to the prevailing U.S. political elite is part of a broader strategy of repression that is slowly permeating all aspects of life in the U.S. Tonight on Ground Zero, Clyde Lewis talks with the mother of Aaron Campbell, Marva Davis and filmmaker, Ramone Palmore about HUMAN WRONGS - THE EXTRAJUDICIAL EXECUTION OF AARON CAMPBELL. #GroundZero #ClydeLewis #HumanWrongs https://groundzeromedia.org/6-17-22-human-wrongs-the.../ Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis is live M-F from 7-10pm, pacific time, and streamed for free at groundzero.radio.
