As ever with Jason, there was a real mixture of hilarity and depth - it was so good to have him back on the show in its third evolution! We'd love to know what YOU think about this week's show. Let's carry on the conversation… please leave a comment below or share in our fb group. What you'll learn from this episode: As Jason said, creativity without introspection makes we just create the unaligned things faster and bigger. Being in integrity with others is important, but we can't truly be in integrity unless we're in integrity with ourselves I loved Jason's story of discovering how the universe and his friends had his back - one way or another, this is what's here for all of us. The Hawaiian word Ho'oponopono comes from ho'o ("to make") and pono ("right"). The repetition of the word pono means "doubly right" or being right with both self and others. In a nutshell, Ho'oponopono is a process by which we can forgive others to whom we are connected 'to make things right' through mutual restitution and forgiveness. It can also be described as an ancient Hawaiian “art of problem-solving”. Historically, the Ho'oponopono prayer was a shared reconciliation mantra for divided families. In this episode, you'll learn:What is Ho'oponopono?Who is Dr. Hew Len & Mabel Katz? The benefits of Ho'oponopono. How to practice it in 4 simple steps.Key Takeaways:According to Ho'oponopono, everything that is your reality is something perceived by your mind. You are 100% responsible for creating the memories stored in your subconscious mind that you re-experience as problems. There are four simple steps to this method, and the order is not that important. They involve the power of Repentance, Forgiveness, Gratitude and Love.Although in the episode we mentioned to “feel” the feelings when saying the words, Mabel Katz teaches that whether or not you feel it, the process is still working. She encourages to just let go and trust that it's working.Ho'oponopono is a simple yet profoundly effective self-healing tool often used to heal the relationship with your inner child. Create the Ripple Podcast was started to tell stories, to tell the truth and to make an impact. Candice loves the quote by Muriel Rukeyser What would happen if one woman told the truth about her life? The world would split open. And in a nutshell that's the podcast's intent, mission and main ideal - to hold space for story and truth that causes the world to split wide open. After an intense period of grief brought on a full life healing and transformation, Candice's lifelong love of speaking, sharing ideas and telling stories emerged in the form of the podcast. After resisting getting her own story out, Angel turned the mic toward Candice and asked her some questions... This is Part One of the Tell All Series you'll be hearing more of over the coming months. Do you have a story to tell? Candice and Angel would love to connect with you and support you to share it powerfully on the Create the Ripple Podcast. No previous experience needed. ** “What would happen if one woman told the truth about her life? The world would split open.” - Muriel Rukeyser “The whole reason for starting the podcast was to hold space for conversations that mattered.” - Candice Smiley “One of my core values are connection, communication, having conversations and having conversations that take courage to be had.” - Candice Smiley “If you can't be honest with yourself, you are not going to make any kind of change. You are not going to move forward at all and you certainly can't be honest with anyone else.” - Candice Smiley “My life got so much bigger when I was able to let go.” - Candice Smiley “You don't attract what you want, you attract who you are.” - Candice Smiley “Figure out exactly what you want and who you want to be. You can find a level of peace and happiness that you are only dreaming about right now, if you just start the process. Figure out what your core values are so it becomes easier to make decisions. If you don't know who you are, figure out where your core values are and then you'll begin to shape it from there.” - Candice Smiley “Be brave, choose brave, choose to be courageous. When one of us chooses to live at that level of truth, the world does split open.”- Candice Smiley Connect with Candice Smiley: https://www.instagram.com/candicecreation/?hl=en https://www.youtube.com/c/CandiceSmiley/featured https://ca.linkedin.com/in/candicesmiley https://www.tiktok.com/@candicesmiley.com? https://www.candicesmiley.com/blog https://www.candicesmiley.com/ https://www.instagram.com/createtheripplepodcast/ https://www.candicesmiley.com/podcast-archive More Links: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/create-the-ripple-podcast/id1555817074 https://open.spotify.com/show/6zMfRT7vbWLjhGGHb3N80B https://jueyann.com/ https://edmonton.cmha.ca/programs-services/distress-line/ https://dmscc.ca/ https://www.crisisservicescanada.ca/en/ https://letstalk.bell.ca/en/ https://letstalk.bell.ca/en/get-help https://www.sac-isc.gc.ca/eng/1576089519527/1576089566478 https://kidshelpphone.ca/ https://www.befrienders.org/ https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/ https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/about/ Books: **As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases** Don Miguel Ruiz - The Four Agreements https://amzn.to/3aBSGoQ Don Miguel Ruiz - The Four Agreements (Kindle Edition) https://amzn.to/3DBWcfG Rebecca Campbell - Rise Sister Rise https://amzn.to/3C83RBx Rebecca Campbell - Rise Sister Rise (Kindle Edition) https://amzn.to/3k3SWTf ** “20 years ago I survived a sexual assault from my boyfriend. 13 years ago I decided not to kill myself. 10 years ago I was left with 350 k worth of bad debt. 8 years ago I went into consumer proposal to fix that. 6 years ago I welcomed my beautiful daughter into the world. 4 years ago I left my marriage to fall in love with myself. 2 years ago I allowed myself to heal and reconnect with my feminine; AND rebuilt my life as I moved into my own tiny home and found my lifetime love. This year, I started my podcast and welcomed my second baby earthside." Candice is a self proclaimed master manifestor and personal development junkie who loves to engage in interesting conversations with other influencers and entrepreneurs. Her favourite conversations are the ones that take courage to engage in. (Check out her podcast, Create the Ripple Podcast wherever you stream your podcasts for more of that!) She spends her time living - in a tiny home (250 sq ft), traveling with her daughter - speaking - on her podcast and on stages, and sharing candidly with other women how to find love after betrayal, to trust themselves, to speak up for themselves and set powerful boundaries. After a narcissistic and abusive romantic partner cheated on her with multiple women and left her (and the country) with significant unexpected bad debt and ruined credit, Candice was forced to rebuild her life, her credit and her trust in herself. Over the next few years Candice navigated the challenging world of foreclosure court, filing for financial proposals and divorce. During these times she adopted a minimalist lifestyle, leaned on her personal network and practiced radical personal forgiveness, acceptance and responsibility. The journey was not without its impact and Candice shares powerfully about dealing with anxiety, depression, shame and learning to let go. Now debt free, financially stable and in a safe committed relationship, Candice loves her minimalist lifestyle for the beauty and freedom it offers her. She knows the power of a good thrift store shop and loves her wardrobe! She has learned the power of saying no, listening to your own heart and speaks openly about subtle abuse as it occurs in relationships. She's become a voice for listening to your own truth and speaking it powerfully. She knows how to save money, make money online and in creative ways to balance the books as a single mom and yet live your biggest and best life. Candice can never resist the urge to take off her boots to walk barefoot into a clear mountain lake or stream. When she is not connecting or writing, she can be found disappearing into the backcountry trails of Canada with her life-love Mark and losing herself exploring waterfalls and mountain trails. She is a quiet introvert who adores eating clean foods and reading a great book. — When we are beyond desire, we open to what is with no judgment. Which allows Being to flow into all our actions. Life simply moves through us. Valeria Teles interviews Fu-Ding Cheng — the author of “Map of Desire: Blueprint for Self-Fulfillment.” Fu-Ding Cheng––visionary filmmaker and shamanic artist––began his career as a practicing architect, but has since focused his attention on books, spirituality, and filmmaking. In 1990, he founded Liquid Light Productions devoted to help change the “dream of the planet” through shamanic workshops, art, books and media. His multi-faceted career includes a prize-winning series of films, Zen-Tales for the Urban Explorer presented as a special retrospective at the Hammer Museum, music videos (Starship's We Built This City on Rock and Roll, nominated “Best Video of the Year”), illustrated album covers (Heart's Dog and Butterfly), and wrote and illustrated a children's book, Dream-House. While teaching film directing at the North Carolina School of the Arts, he created a groundbreaking new curriculum, "Shamanic Tools for the Filmmaker." However, first priority over all vocational activities has been his life-long devotion to spiritual awakening. Since break-through life-changing experiences in 1995 as apprentice to Toltec shaman Don Miguel Ruiz (The Four Agreements), Fu-Ding has been impassioned to help spread the deepest wisdom to the widest number of people. For the last twenty years, he has been leading spiritual/shamanic workshops distilled from his life-long quest involving Eastern meditation in the Himalayas, Chinese Kung-Fu, spiritual psychology, and Meso-American wisdom traditions. Based in Venice, California, he is now launching his latest book, Map of Desire, a Blueprint for Self-fulfillment. To learn more about Fu-Ding Cheng and his work, please visit: fudingcheng.com & www.facebook/fdcheng — This podcast is a quest for well-being, a quest for a meaningful life through the exploration of fundamental truths, enlightening ideas, insights on physical, mental, and spiritual health. The inspiration is Love. The aspiration is to awaken new ways of thinking that can lead us to a new way of being, being well.
Everyone gets stuck from time to time. Everyone has moments when they feel as if they're languishing more than they're thriving. The problem for many people, however, is that the beliefs they have about why they're stuck are often inaccurate. Therefore, the strategies that they employ to get unstuck are flawed. This puts them into a vicious cycle. The harder they try, the more stuck they get. My guest for this episode is Nic Jarvis. He's an NLP Master with an extensive background in leadership development in the fitness and leisure industry. I've been fortunate to work with Nic on multiple projects as well as co-present with him on a few occasions. I've always found his insights to be brilliant, and his demonstrated skill as a coach to be invaluable. In this episode we discuss how to get unstuck and access the inner resources that elicit high performance. · The impact our environment has on our behavior. · Dealing with the level of understanding you have in the moment.· What does it mean when people respond differently to the same set of circumstances?· Do we have control over constructive vs. destructive responses to our circumstances? · Being conscious of what is happening. · Confidence is a skill. · Does getting what you want make you happy? · Is the pursuit of happiness, causing unhappiness? · What gets in the way of happiness? · Can you control your thoughts? · Thought is the best guess of the way the world is. · Emotions impact on interpretation and recall. · Calming our mind to see the broader perspective.· How do you get unstuck?· The first step of getting unstuck is realizing and acknowledging that you're stuck.· The best and worst thing that can happen in your career. · Accessing resources.· When thinking gets in the way of performance.· The best gauge we have in a situation is our feelings.· Being attuned to degrees of emotion. · Creating a space between stimulus and response. · A mental map vs. GPS. · You are already living your life's purpose. · Discipline and willpower are limited. · Simple solutions to complex problems are presumptuous and don't work. · The difference between consistency and inconsistency is an internal locus of motivation. Join your host Jason Goldberg in another episode of the Jason Goldberg Is Ruining Podcasting Podcast! Today, Jason talks about feeling self-love, having self-confidence, and how important it is to practice these actions every day. Self-love is about caring and taking responsibility for oneself, so it's normal to think we should have these feelings for others. But, shouldn't we have these exact same feelings about us? “It may not seem this way on the surface but self-love can actually be an act of defiance. What if I don't comply? What if I don't waste my super limited time and energy trying to fit in? In a world where we were thought to live in compliance from an early age, it can feel really edgy to put ourselves first but that's a big component of self-love.” – Jason Goldberg Lack of self-love not only affects the way we treat our own selves, but it's also intrinsically related to the way other people view us. The curiosity here is: the way other people view us also influences how we treat us, thus creating an endless cycle. It's important to remember to not live life like we are trying to pass someone else's test because approval only needs to be met if it comes from within. Do YOU approve YOU? “At the end of the day self-love is what's left over in the absence of self criticism and the absence of self criticism is what comes in the presence of self compassion.” – Jason Goldberg Another point that's worth talking about is the idea that we repeat the same behaviors when we don't practice self-love. Comparing ourselves with others, constantly looking for approval, seeking permission to be yourself, and outsourcing your feelings are all behaviors that are stopping us from loving the C.R.A.P. out of us. That's exactly what Jason shares today. Key Timestamps [0:51] – What does self-love mean and why it's important to talk about; [4:45] – Jason started to rewrite his story by practicing self-love; [6:52] – How can you love the absolute C.R.A.P. out of yourself; [23:19] – When looking for self-love, remember who's the real hero; Related Links A Thousand Names for Joy by Byron Katie and Stephen Mitchell Connect with me! Welcome back to the Jason Goldberg Is Ruining Podcasting Podcast! In this episode, Jason shares some insights on how to handle anger and how to switch from reacting to anger to creating with anger. Anger shows itself in a lot of ways but curiously there's also a lot of ways we can deal with it. First and foremost: see the situation from a more calm perspective and then ask yourself: “Am I willing to let go of this feeling?” If the answer is positive, your mind and body will instantly start to slow down. “Anger is not inherently bad and your feelings are never wrong. The challenge becomes when we think that the feeling of anger is also the most effective guide as to what we should do.” – Jason Goldberg Another thing that can help us administer anger is to look at the root cause of it, and make an effort to analyze it: is it going to be this important 5 days from now? Is it going to affect me next week, next month, next year? Negative thoughts only exist in the past or future. The present moment is completely ours. At the end of the day, thoughts are just thoughts, not truths. When sh*t hits the fan, what is THE best next step that'll help the situation? “When we are being puppetered by anger, we diminish our own experience of life and we just aren't ourselves.” – Jason Goldberg Key Timestamps [3:27] – Anger is not good or bad, it's just a temporary feeling; [07:34] – How to transform anger into something? Welcome back to the Jason Goldberg Is Ruining Podcasting Podcast! In this episode, Jason talks about Ego, and how we can make it our reasoned guide. Ego can be defined as our self identity, our ideas and opinions about others and the world and our sense of self consciousness – all at the same time. But Ego is also seen as a bad feature in a person and getting rid of it is seen as the right thing to do. What if you switch throwing away your Ego by simply being aware of it? Using it instead of being used by it? You will learn that Ego exists to conduct us in the right direction and help us make better choices. “Common knowledge and belief is that the Ego is your enemy. That it works against you, that it holds you back from growing and being successful, that it hurts your relationships, and makes you an arrogant shmug if not taken care of. But what if your Ego can actually be your gateway to, not only your own personal fulfillment but, to actual meaningful contribution in the world?” – Jason Goldberg Jason also explains the concepts of FREEgo and FLEEgo. FREEgo as being our sense of free thinking, free will and freedom. Freeing ourselves of feeling guilty for having wants and needs. Freeing ourselves of being ashamed for setting boundaries, having self-love, but also freely being of service and being there for others. And FLEEgo as being our sense of running away, or escaping situations. Fleeing from different things, new experiences and difficult conversations. Fleeing help and fleeing being helped. “We hear this all the time: that we should focus on being more self aware. Well, we need a bit of the idea of separateness that the Ego can provide to know how truly self aware we are becoming.” – Jason Goldberg These two notions of the Ego are important to consider. To turn a FLEEgo into a FREEgo, firstly you need to be aware of both of them, observing yourself, and noticing what situations they appear in. Only by acknowledging your Ego, you will start making it your amigo. Instead of being pushed away by it, use it to pull you back to center. Key Timestamps [3:15] – What is the definition of Ego? One of the most important things you can do to improve the way you live and the way you handle situations is to question the existence of ‘magic' in your life. Is there any space in your life right now allowing magic to manifest? Are you currently following so many rules, tasks and routines that circumstances simply cannot happen to you? Is your mindset so self-centered to the point that there's no space for anything unexpected (and awesome)? Well, if you answered ‘yes' to at least one of these questions, this episode is for you! “Don't sit on the sidelines and wait for the world to choose you, or for magic to appear, but, also, don't step on the universe's toes and try to command and control everything into creation.” – Jason Goldberg In this episode, Jason shares simple steps to take in order for you to create more magic in your life. Allowing the universe's higher power to take place is only possible by: making room for it and freeing yourself from control; embracing the magic when it actually happens by taking in the insights and lessons; and sharing the whole experience and concept with people that are energetically aligned with you. Oftentimes, the best thing to do is take a step back and let ‘magic' take the wheel. Key Timestamps [1:33] – What is magic after all? We, as human beings, have a great number of goals in life. We want to be successful, we want to get that special job offer, we want to live in that luxurious house or have that perfect lifestyle… Whatever your goals may be, it's almost certain you are taking life too seriously in order to achieve them. Think about it: the secret of success is being successful despite the fact that you're serious, not because of it. In this episode, Jason Goldberg shares with you the 6 most effective tips to take life (and yourself) less seriously. “I started seeing that bringing seriousness to the work I was doing, bringing seriousness to my life in general was actually robbing me of the joy of life.” – Jason Goldberg With these tips you will be able to recognize the whole seriousness living inside of you right now and you will be able to let it go gradually and naturally. These are powerful proven tactics that will shift your mindset and will help you remember that your problems are not so significant and your ego and focus might be working against you instead of with you. Sometimes in life we must detach things from being “the center of our universe,” and just loosen our grip a little bit. “Whatever I make the center of my universe, I'm also going to put all of my energy into it to make sure I protect it from failing or just falling apart. And so that takes a lot of seriousness to constantly be protecting what I think is the most important thing in my world.” – Jason Goldberg Key Timestamps [2:37] – Why seriousness can block your joy in life. [07:25] – Jason's story on taking entrepreneurship too seriously. [10:32] – The 6 tips to take life less seriously. [29:51] – A little story on how to practice these 6 tips from now on. Do you know those moments when you have a very exciting idea out of nowhere and you get all energized about it and your imagination starts to go to places, but eventually the enthusiasm seems to die because you realize you don't know how to implement it? Then, the once awesome idea becomes just dumb? Well, you're not the only one who experiences that. In this episode, Jason gives you the inspiration you need to actually grab the idea by the hand and make it happen no matter what. “As humans, we are historically afraid of new ideas, we can feel threatened by the unknown and our minds go into overdrive to protect us.” – Jason Goldberg The thing is, to solve this problem you must have the outcome in mind. You must see yourself already on the other side and let yourself be pulled to your vision. More than that, you must surround yourself with a support system to help you put your ideas into fruition. There is nothing wrong with experimenting, trying new things, and being creative but you need to come up with a plan. At the end of the day, in order to think outside the box you have to first imagine yourself stepping out of it. “If we've never done the thing before that we're looking to do and we don't have a frame of reference for what we are trying to create and – probably hardest of all – we don't trust ourselves to move forward without having perfect information and a bulletproof game plan, then our big vision ends up becoming a big wait.” – Jason Goldberg Key Timestamps [1:21] – Specialness (You are special, just not in the way you think). [8:14] – It's Metaphor Time! People used to create things before us. [11:26] – Involving people around your creations. [12:38] – What would your idol do in your place? [14:54] – Create something new by creating a plan first. [18:27] – Final advice: Worthiness vs. Willingness. In this week's episode, Jason creates and shares with the audience some great ways to deal with “the new normal”. The new normal (and the new abnormal as Jason points out) can be hard on people that already deal with issues such as sadness, depression and anxiety. Setting your mindset right is a #1 priority in this case. “My belief is that, for most sane people, having the choice, you would never choose to be stressed or anxious or fearful. So if that's the case, why don't we just choose to be happy? Or joyful? Or peaceful? In these kinds of less than ideal situations?” – Jason Goldberg Additionally, Jason highlights 3 quick ways to shift your mentality when you catch yourself fighting internal battles. If you knew that your current sadness and bad mood would only last for a specific period of time, would you still choose not to be gentle with yourself? “We never truly know how anything is going to unfold in our lives. You are a pro at living in ambiguity and uncertainty because those are the basic building blocks of life and growth and creation and evolution.” – Jason Goldberg Key Timestamps [2:31] – What is the new normal? “We have access to everything that we want within ourselves if we know how to ask the right questions.” - Diane Forster (11:10 - 11:20)Diane ForsterI Have Today Jim Phillips is the author of the book The Key to LIFE: Living In Full Expression. He is a highly respected business leader, entrepreneur, spiritual life coach, inspirational speaker, and author. He is also featured in the new movie Becoming the Keys alongside Dr. Joe Vitale (The Secret), Dannion Brinkley (Saved by the Light), and Don Miguel Ruiz (The Four Agreements). Are you stealing your own identity? You’ve most likely heard about the dangers of identity theft, and how you need to protect yourself from it. You’re aware that you need to keep your credit card, bank statements, and other sensitive information safe. But what about your higher identity? We’re all spiritual beings having a human experience. Our divine self lives within us and uses us as vehicles to express itself. When we aren’t true to who we really are, and we let our egos tell us that we need to live up to someone else’s standards, we’re committing the biggest identity theft from ourselves. “When we shift our perspective, we experience the same events and circumstances differently, and they don't affect us in the same way.” - Jim Phillips (36:31 - 36:40) When you try to live your life according to other’s expectations, your ego tells you that you’re not enough, that you will always need to improve. While self-improvement can be a beneficial practice, it needs to be approached from the right perspective. When you recognize that you’re an expression of the divine, you’ll realize that you are already perfect. There’s a reason why you’re here on earth, and you already have everything you need to fulfill your destiny. From this perspective, self-improvement becomes a process of self-discovery. Instead of trying to be better, your focus will shift on letting the divine replace the ego. The keys to living from your higher self. Here are a few of the critical elements to help you let go of your ego, and surrender to the divine aspect of yourself. Practice non-judgment. Non-judgement is one of the most powerful tools you have at your disposal. When you judge something, you’re looking at it through the lens of what you think is right, and you’re not looking at it as it is. When you let go of judgment, you experience the world, other people, and most importantly, yourself, through the lens of love and compassion. Live the life imagined. You’ve likely heard of the Law of Attraction, which states that what you’re experiencing is a representation of your most prominent thoughts and beliefs. What you believe determines your vibrational energy, and it attracts the results in your life accordingly. Take some time to asses your expectations, and where you got them. You might find that some of your beliefs were passed on to you by others and that they might be holding you back. “Each day, I ask what is required of me to allow the I am that I AM to experience and express itself through me, and as me.” - Jim Phillips (40:29 - 40:43) Practice self-awareness. Each day, make an effort to live in the present moment. Everything only exists in the now, and you can learn a great deal by paying attention to how you respond to certain events. Take note of your feelings and reactions within the body. While you can’t change the circumstances, you can change your perspective and how you respond to them. Take time each day to assess what are some things that you can do to allow your divine self to better express itself through you. You might get the answer in ways that seem strange to you. It's important not to dismiss them, and to act on them. When you allow that truth to sink in, you'll recognize your real power, and you'll see that you already have access to all the answers that you need. Haircuts, Recovery & Clothes Dryers There was only ever one person I wanted to help me celebrate this milestone 50th episode of this podcast. Someone who inspires, who is always super fun and loving, who keeps it real and is a dear friend. JG and I talk haircuts, Mad Men, breakups, recovery, boners, clothes driers, and a game of fave & crave. This is a slightly different format to the other episodes, it's a little more fly-on-the-wall as the two of us simply hang out and chat, and as is always the case with JG, there's lots of laughter and fun with some real insightful gems. Here's a little more about JG: What does an award-winning entrepreneur, a TEDx Speaker, a bacon-atarian (thats a vegetarian who still eats bacon), a funky sock lover, a former rapper (who opened for the Wu-Tang Clan - YES, really!) and a previously 332lb man (who has since lost over 130lbs despite his affinity for bacon) have in common? They are all the same guy! Jason Goldberg (JG for short) is the King of Playful Sales, Success and Self- Leadership. He is a geek, turned entrepreneur, “Edu-tainer”, author of the #1 International Best-Seller “Prison Break” and creator of both the Playful Prosperity AND the Business UNusual System programs. JG blends his signature mix of simple and transformational wisdom, practical business mentorship, and belly-busting humor to help coaches, speakers and online educators build “Competition-PROOF” businesses full of impact and influence (and that allows them to have a ton of FUN in the process)! Before shifting his focus to the world of human potential, JG earned his MBA degree, served as the Director of Engineering and Operations for a technology firm, was the co-founder and CEO of a ground-breaking executive transportation company and was also co-founder and CEO of a technology commercialization startup in partnership with NASA to bring innovations from the space shuttle program to the private sector. As a sought-after international speaker and host, JG has shared the stage with some of the world's greatest thought-leaders and innovators in human potential and performance including Dr. Sean Stephenson (The 3 Foot Giant), Don Miguel Ruiz (The Four Agreements), Vishen Lakhiani (CEO of Mindvalley), Steven Kotler (Stealing Fire), Marisa Peer (the UK's psychotherapist to the stars) and so many others that he hopes will impress you if these other ones don't! ;) Find out more about Jason at: http://www.thejasongoldberg.com/ You can get a free copy of JG's latest book “How To Build a Competition- Proof Coaching Business” here: http://BeCompetitionProof.com
