A lot has changed since the last episode of Born to Rule was released. After Queen Elizabeth's death on September 8, 2022, Prince Charles became King Charles III and thereby fulfilled his destiny. But some things haven't changed – like the relationship between Prince Harry and the rest of the British royal family. Since excerpts from Prince Harry's much anticipated memoir, Spare, became public, the book has made headlines around the world. We're taking a look at the impact of this bombshell book. Keir Simmons sits down with Katie Nicholl, author of The New Royals and royal editor at Vanity Fair, and journalist and royal commentator, Afua Hagan, for a candid conversation about the impact this memoir could have on the reign of King Charles III.
Angela Levin – Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall: from outcast to future Queen consort...with TRE's Selina MacKenzie
Zoe Forsey and Russell Myers sit down to chat about Camilla's low-key 75th birthday, the Queen's surprise outing and a very, very hot royal trip to Cornwall. We also ponder over the mysterious Prince Andrew photo which a BBC employee says will rock the Royal Family if it's ever made public. Prince Harry gave a speech at the UN this week and there is a new Meghan Markle book hitting the shelves, which includes a number of claims including that she “threw tea in the air”.

"a day of infamy – but also London at its best"
During her Platinum Jubilee celebration this year, Queen Elizabeth greeted the crowds from the balcony at Buckingham Palace, dressed in bright blue with a cane in hand, at 96 years old… there's no denying change is coming. On her left: William, Kate, and the kids. On her right: Charles and Camilla. The message was clear — this is the future of the monarchy, with Charles at the helm. In our final episode, we're taking a look at what's next for the royal family. From Charles to William to little George, what does a modern monarchy look like? Where do Harry and Meghan fit in? And after 70 years of Queen Elizabeth's reign, is the world ready for King Charles?
The royal family is no stranger to controversy — and Prince Charles has often been at the center of the scandal-du-jour. What happens when he takes on the job of maintaining the monarchy's public image… the one he's been accused of tarnishing over the years? We'll take a look at the more recent scandals Charles has had to manage alongside the Queen – from questions about how some of his charities raise money to his brother Prince Andrew's settlement in a sexual abuse lawsuit, to his son Prince Harry's departure from the Firm. What other challenges might lie ahead for the future king, and how will he manage them?
Poetry from around the world! A fortnightly celebration of Poetry and The Commonwealth - the journey begins at Clarence House in London where award winning podcaster Gyles Brandreth and his daughter Aphra meet HRH The Duchess of Cornwall and Dame Joanna Lumley. Over the coming weeks Gyles & Aphra will be visiting each of the 54 countries of the Commonwealth, meeting poets, performers and people who love poetry and discovering new poems each episode.
In 1981, the world watched as Prince Charles married the perfect royal bride: Lady Diana Spencer. Young, beautiful, and stylish, Diana breathed new life into the monarchy. But the fairytale didn't last long. In the years that followed, Diana and Charles's troubled marriage and bitter divorce was a constant in the tabloids, and Diana's death in a car accident in 1997 shook the world. And through it all, Charles gained a reputation as an unfaithful husband to the “people's princess” as he carried on an affair with friend Camilla Parker Bowles. But today, Camilla — once known as the notorious “other woman” — is poised to become Queen Consort when Charles takes the throne. It's a reflection of the changes the monarchy has undergone in the aftermath of the Charles and Diana saga… and the fulfillment of Prince Charles's decades-long quest to have the love of his life accepted by the royal establishment and the British public.
The Commonwealth is an association of 54 countries from across the world. It's home to a third of the world's population including from Australia, India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya to the UK, Canada and many island nations in between. The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition is the world's oldest international writing competition for schools. Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall talks to Tina Daheley about the competition. She also shares her passion for books and how her father instilled in her a love of reading. The Duchess is also joined by two competition winners, Ethan Charles Mufuma from Uganda, Hiya Chowdhury from India. We hear from Nigerian novelist Chigozie Obioma, author of The Fishermen and An Orchestra of Minorities. He's in conversation with the Jamaican writer of Here comes the Sun, and Patsy, Nicole Dennis-Benn. Both novelists explore the peoples and culture of their respective countries in their work and encourage the next generation of writers. Shehan Karunatilaka is a Sri Lankan writer best known for his cricketing novel Chinaman: The Legend of Pradeep Mathew, which won the 2012 Commonwealth Book Prize and was recently chosen by the BBC as one of its Big Jubilee Reads, celebrating 70 books from across the Commonwealth. He told us about the work of art that has inspired him - the 1985 track 'Russians' by UK popstar Sting, about the Cold War threat of nuclear attack, a song that continues to carry a very human message. This year, Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years on the throne. At age 96, the Queen is the longest-reigning monarch in British history, and her eldest son, Prince Charles, has waited longer than any heir presumptive in British history to ascend the throne. Practically no one alive today in the UK can remember a time before the Queen. But as his moment approaches, so does widespread apprehension: Can Prince Charles fill his mother's shoes? Will the people accept him as king? Is there even a place for monarchy in our modern world?
Prince Charles has long been seen as an eccentric - his passion for gardening and watercolor painting combined with his love of the luxurious royal life has given him the reputation of being out-of-touch with the average person. But Charles might also be considered ahead of his time - a long-time environmentalist who's been spearheading initiatives for sustainable living for more than 50 years. Many of the prince's ideas, at first quickly dismissed, have turned out to be prescient. We're taking a deeper look at this complex man. Did he become Prince Charles because of his upbringing or despite it? And how will the Prince Charles that we have come to know evolve into King Charles when he must meet his destiny.
This year marks Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee, her 70th year as Queen of the United Kingdom. As the world prepares to celebrate an icon, the British royal establishment is working quietly behind the scenes to prepare the stage for Prince Charles to replace his mother and become King. It's the moment he was destined for – and at 73, he's been waiting a long time. But as his moment approaches, so does widespread apprehension: Can Prince Charles fill his mother's shoes? Will the people accept him as king? Is there even a place for monarchy in our modern world? In Born to Rule, NBC's Keir Simmons talks to journalists and royal insiders who've followed Prince Charles for decades to help us understand the man who will be king.
In an exclusive interview, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and future Queen Consort talks to Emma about her work with domestic abuse survivors. They are joined by Diana Parkes whose daughter Joanna Simpson was battered to death by her estranged husband in 2010. Olena Symonenko tells us about her escape to a safer part of Ukraine only to find out that her apartment that she had lived in all her life had been hit by a bomb. The actress and writer Joanna Scanlan known for her many roles in TV shows such as Getting On and The Thick of It, talks about her BAFTA nominated film After Love. Do we change our bodies because we want to or because we are being pressured to conform by society? Cambridge Professor of Political Philosophy Clare Chambers considers this question and concludes that the unmodified body is under attack, particularly for women, who are constantly given the message that their body is not good enough just as it is. Her new book is Intact – A Defence of the Unmodified Body. Margaret Atwood's latest collection of essays, Burning Questions, gathers together her essays and other occasional non-fiction pieces from 2004 to 2021. The literary legend talks culture wars, feminism and grief. Presenter: Andrea Catherwood Producer: Dianne McGregor
Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall is now at the heart of the royal family. In her ascension day message which begins a year of celebrations to mark seventy years on the throne, the Queen said that once Prince Charles becomes King, her sincere wish is that Camilla will be at his side as Queen Consort. It's recognition for her loyalty, and her work campaigning on a variety of causes and in particular that of domestic abuse. It was a meeting in 2016 with a woman called Diana Parkes that inspired the Duchess. Diana's daughter Joanna Simpson was battered to death by her estranged husband in 2010 with their two children within earshot. After the killing, Diana setup a foundation to help transform the lives of children impacted by domestic violence and it was at a meeting of the charity SafeLives that she first met the Duchess. In our interview we reunite them at Clarence House to hear how her story has inspired the work of a future Queen. Emma also speaks to the clinical psychologist David Trickey from the child mental health charity the Anna Freud Centre and to Baroness Floella Benjamin who campaigned to get the new Domestic Abuse Act through parliament and she's also a Vice President of the children's charity Barnardos. Presenter: Emma Barnett Producer: Lisa Jenkinson Editor: Karen Dalziel Studio Manager: Bob Nettles

Oh, to live in this age of conspiracies. Washington Times Opinion Editor Charlie Hurt tells Andy Parks, "it's always the hypocrisy that gets you." Charlie says President Biden wants to be European so badly, he feels the need to lecture the E.U. about methane gas. When... reportedly... he let rip an enormous cloud of personal methane. The White House apparently has no comment on this. Also this week, the good news is voters in Virginia this week fired the first shot in the war to end the carnival of absurdity that has infected our politics over the past few years. Charlie explains how this election was a win, not just for Republicans, but for all parents.

Camilla Parker Bowles was the reluctant star of a royal tale of scandal and debauchery in the Windsor Family. She was once the most hated woman in all of England after her affair with Prince Charles was revealed by Princess Diana herself! Karamia tells Emily how this was actually true love that persisted throughout decades of tacky clothing, loveless marriages, Camillagate, death, and the scorn of Queen Elizabeth and the tabloids. Try out your best proper English accent, drink some tea with a side of sherry, while your ears devour Camilla’s journey from being an unofficial companion to becoming the next in line to be queen! Proper headwear is desired, fascinators preferred. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
