On this episode I go through the diagnosis of a 2015 Infiniti Q50, 3.7L V6, with a P0171 and P0174, lean condition. I'll share my thought process through the diagnostic steps tracking down the source of the positive fuel trims. My goal on this show is to share vehicle diagnostics that challenge me to come to a precise conclusion, this vehicle being one. I have a gut feeling I know the solution, but not enough data to condemn a part. It's telling that the Infiniti Q50 and Honda HR-V are not super exciting, because Charlie and Chris had a tough time finding much to say about them. However, some people just want a boring car, and that's perfectly fine. This week brings some more exciting cars, however! Young Thug Hit WIth RICO Charges, Miami/F1 Recap| Divij's Den | Ep. 45 Young Thug Hit WIth RICO Charges, Miami/F1 Recap| Divij's Den | Ep. 45 https://instagram.com/divijvaswani Divij@DivisionMedia.Co video: https://www.instagram.com/christianyi_/ Grammy-winning rapper Young Thug's lyrics are being cited as evidence in a sweeping 56-count gang indictment, again raising a debate over whether lyrics are protected free speech. According to the 88-page indictment obtained by CNN, lyrics from the rapper's popular songs – including “Slime Sh*t,” “Original Slime Sh*t,” and “Anybody” – were used as examples of “overt acts,” some of which constitute racketeering. Prosecutors allege that Young Thug, real name Jeffery Williams, founded the gang Young Slime Life in late 2012 and was a key figure in various YSL activities. Rapper Gunna, real name Sergio Giovanni Kitchens, is also charged in the document. Williams was arrested at his home in Atlanta on Monday, police said. Most notably, prosecutors said that in 2015, Williams rented an Infiniti Q50 sedan from Hertz, which was later used in the murder of a rival gang member. There are also references that paint Williams as the leader of the YSL gang, as two associates discussed how to obtain his permission to attempt to murder rapper YFN Lucci while he was incarcerated. “I'm prepared to take them down,” “murder gang sh*t,” and “I never killed anybody but I got something to do with that body” are just a few of the dozens of lines referenced in the indictment. Lyrics from other popular rappers referencing ties to Young Slime Life are also quoted in the indictment, along with social media posts. Williams has been booked into the Fulton County jail and charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and participation in criminal street gang activity. This isn't the first time song lyrics have been used by criminal prosecutors. In 2019, prosecutors questioned Brooklyn rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine about lyrics for his song “GUMMO,” asking if it included threats to rivals. In 2017, prosecutors tried to use Drakeo the Ruler's “Flex Freestyle” as evidence that he conspired to murder another rapper. Not everyone supports allowing prosecutors to use lyrics as evidence. In “Rap on Trial: Race, Lyrics and Guilt in America” by Erik Nielson and Andrea L. Dennis, rapper Killer Mike argues that rap as an art form is a safe space where raw emotions can and should be expressed. “Left unchecked, it has the potential to silence a generation of artists who are exercising their First Amendment right to express themselves,” he wrote. “These are voices we should be encouraging, yet our criminal justice system has consistently looked for ways to punish them.” Killer Mike also noted that other artists from genres other than rap are often celebrated for their dark lyrics, while rappers are vilified.Last year, state senators in New York introduced the bill “Rap Music on Trial,” which would prevent art – including song lyrics – from being used as evidence in criminal cases. Jay-Z, Meek Mill, Big Sean and Kelly Rowland all supported the bill, as did other musicians. But Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis sees it differently.
Rap star Young Thug and his top artist Gunna have been arrested in a sweeping RICO indictment. According to WSBTV reporter Michael Seiden, the chart-topping rappers are among 20 defendants in a 56-count indictment out of Fulton County, Georgia. The indictment stems from a long-running feud between the YSL gang, which is connected to the Bloods, and the rival YFN crew, which is also associated with the Bloods. According to the indictment, Young Thug is accused of acting as an accomplice to murder. The rapper allegedly rented a 2014 Infiniti Q50, used to murder rival gang YSL member named Donovan “Big Nut” Thomas Jr., who was instrumental in launching YFN Lucci's career. Thomas' murder in 2015 murder apparently sparked the war between the YSL and YFN factions. By May of 2019, the feud reached new heights when gunmen shot up his YFN Lucci's red Mercedes G. Wagon. Also, two of Young Thug's associates allegedly wanted the rap star to greenlight a second murder attempt on YFN Lucci. In January of 2021, YFN Lucci was charged for his role in connection to the death of a 28-year-old man named James Adams. Adams was a passenger in a vehicle with YFN Lucci during a shootout. He was struck in the head by return fire, and the rapper allegedly pushed him out of the automobile and left him for dead in the middle of an Atlanta Street. Young Thug and Ghana were taken into custody earlier today (May 9th). Show #1084 Good morning, good afternoon and good evening wherever you are in the world, welcome to EV News Daily for Sunday 16th May. It’s Martyn Lee here and I go through every EV story so you don't have to. Thank you to MYEV.com for helping make this show, they’ve built the first marketplace specifically for Electric Vehicles. It’s a totally free marketplace that simplifies the buying and selling process, and help you learn about EVs along the way too. New Patron supporters in the last week: PRODUCER MARK RICHARDS PRODUCER RICO VITALE And a new PARNTER MICHAEL LUMBLEY QUESTION OF THE WEEK ANSWERS - WITH EMOBILITYNORWAY.COM A recent survey – which I highly questioned and disagreed with – claimed 1 in 5 EV owners went back to piston power. I have never heard anything like a 20% rate of EV drivers being unhappy with electric. Would you ever go back? Yes, No and tell me why! JAN TORE FROM EMOBILITYNORWAYVery easy to answer. No way I'm going back. DAVID ALLENNever, short of a loved one held hostage, or in my current circs, my 3 being in the body shop (a lady in a mini-van decided to ignore a red light, smashed into a car turning in the intersection, then crossed the lanes and hit left rear side of my car). So, I am driving a loaner (Infiniti Q50). Bad enough that I have spent $50 in gas up to this point, but now gas prices jumped 20% this week due to the Colonial Pipeline issue (the pipeline in question literally runs through neighborhood a block from my house). JAKE ABERNATHY - Boise, Idaho I’m a recent owner of a Tesla Model 3. I personally will never go back to combustion engine cars. The performance, connectivity, and convenience of having a full charge every morning have convinced me to never look back. However, the only conceivable reason I could ever see myself going back or being hesitant to go electric in the first place, is if I didn’t have a dedicated home charging station. I just don’t think I would have pulled the trigger if I would have to rely on public charging infrastructure (here in Idaho is very sparse). Only if I put myself in the shoes of someone who doesn’t have access to home charging, could I ever see going back (temporarily until a home charging station could be achieved or public charging was up to par). MARK GARNETTOne CA friend did lease a Leaf because the lease cost was so slow at the time, like really cheap, it was a “free” car. I was all encouraging and assumed he’d get another EV but the new deals were not at all good value so he let it go back. PAUL DENNEYWould I go back to:-£6 a gallonBreathing in Benzine fumesVEDCongestion charging£400 for a serviceCrippling depreciationWondering what's going to break nextPutting my foot down and nothing happeningManual gear changingVibrationEngine noiseClimate change anxietyNah, I don't think so. STEVEN McGINNISYou asked if I would consider returning to an ICE vehicle? Do I want to stand outside in the rain or snow to refill my tank or would I rather be in my pajamas in bed asleep?Would I like to continue to pay US$68 a week for gasoline or US$16 in electricity?Do I prefer to have the petroleum smell creep into my kitchen from the garage door or my wife’s baking smell creep into my garage?Do I want to stop on my way to work to refill my car since my son brought it home on empty, or would I like to start each morning with full range?Do I want to spend a Saturday every few months waiting on the oil and lubrication service to finish or go for a hike in the nearby hills?Gosh! You ask a difficult question. PETE MOONEYI remember contacting you at the beginning of my EV journey when I brought a Mercedes B250e. The last 2 years have been brilliant. I found an EV that suited my budget, fitted 5 of us and still had room for the dog in the back. The range was not much of an issue as living in a town and suburban environment, most journeys are less the 50 miles. The biggest issue has always been the slow charging – only 3.6 kW on the single phase supply (up to 11 on a 3 phase only). However, we have just moved to the country where everything is further away and the journey back to friends and family is 100 miles. I know from experience I can do 100 miles in the car, but the charging time for the return journey is impractical! So. Now I would like to change the car for something with a longer range, charges quicker but still has feels nice to be behind the wheel. Call me a snob but I don’t want to drive a Nissan or MG. All the cars that I can afford are too small, and all the cars I want to drive are too expensive. This leads me to your question of the week. I’ve been seriously considering it. I can get a nice second hand Mercedes C Class hybrid for under £20k, which will fit 5 comfortably and the dog, and do very short journeys on electric and also do the journey back down to Kent. The equivalent size EV to that second hand is still £35-40K. Help me please. Am I wrong? Am I missing something? Where are all the affordable (relatively speaking) EV’s? Why are the second hand cars still so expensive? MATTI JOUHKIMOWould I ever go back to fossils? Hell no! :DOn the side note about the study, I believe some (?) parts of US still has single-phase electric power at home? So this kind of "developing country technology" might affect the decision to give up EVs if you drive a lot. Can't figure out why they would otherwise.. MARK RICHARDS Never would I go back to an ICE. I emailed you earlier and am selling my Bolt back to GM, and I'm kind of freaking out that I have to drive my truck full time until I buy a new EV. I THINK THAT YOUR AVERAGE LISTENER IS GOING TO BE MORE OF AN EEVEE ENTHUSIAST AND FAR LESS LIKELY TO RETURN THEIR EV FOR AN ICE CAR. SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS LOCK ROBERT LONGMOREGday. Rob from Sydev here, I own 2 EV’s. A Mitsubishi Imiev and model 3. I will never go back to a ICE vehicle, won’t even rent one. I found info that the survey was using data from 2013 to 2018 when Fast charger stations were counted in the 100’s, not 10’s thousands. And apparently only from people who couldn’t charge from home and didn’t use public charging. So in that situation 25% of people with EVs might consider going back to ICE vehicles. Otherwise I have yet to meet a fellow EV owner who would go back to burning fossil fuels for transport. MARK BUCKINGHAMI’ve never herd of anybody here in Kiwi land going back, but what would I know? KESTER SANDBACHI bought my first EV 6 months ago - a Tesla model 3. It was the worst purchase I have ever made! My old Audi diesel was much better - louder, smellier, slower, smokier, cluttered interior, lots of mechanical systems to go wrong... and I just love paying tax, paying clean air zone fees, going to a dealer for servicing, and of course buying fuel (petrol stations are such cool places to hang out!). No one needs a car that can defrost itself and warm the seats before you need to leave the house on a wintry day... and I just hate it when a car improves itself with new features and more range after I bought it. And what's all this nonsense with refueling overnight and having full range each morning? What a gimmick! So would I go back to combustion? Definitely yes! I can't stand it when things change. Progress? Pah! Good old fashioned cars, that's what we want! HOWARD SPELLMANYep I’m one of them. But I am the SKew in the chart. I’ve had electric vehicles for over 10 years now and in reality I would never go back to a piston vehicle. I have reservations on numerous electric vehicles for the future. Rivian, Cybertruck and Lucid. I’ve been investing in almost every electric start up and or companies now producing EV vehicles. However, there is a vehicle that’s missing from the EV market now but will probably be filled in the future. That is the camper van. Since there is nothing even close in EV market for a camper van I have purchased a used Mercedes sprinter diesel 4 x 4. So I guess I’m on one of the 20% that went back to pistons, but I will always go electric when possible. The Transit EV will not go over 120 miles as the Sprinter EV will probably be similar for now. So I’m looking at maybe a 3 to 5 years time span before anything that will go far enough for a camper van. I have driven EVs since my first test of the GM EV1 back in 1996. MIKE BERWICKWe finally have a Kia Soul ev 2020. It’s through your poscast giving me the information to just go for it and also to get my partner clued up to make that change. So thanks for that. She loves it. We’re aren’t going back to ICE however I saw on a Facebook group someone said they are going back and the reason was that they are fed up with PHEVs charging on a fast charger and not freeing up the charger point. Also BEVs fully charged and the owner won’t move the car. We don’t do many miles a week and we won’t have this problem STEPHEN LUDWIGThe simple answer is no. I’ve driven for 52 years and loved some vehicles and disliked others. Most of that involved the expense of ICE engine maintenance.Last July I found a 2018 i3 in Witichia Kansas that was off lease from California. It had only 3500 miles. We purchased it and had it shipped. If it hadn’t been a pandemic I would have jumped on a plane to see it and bring it back to Florida. The i3 is a blast to drive, so much fun. My wife loves it, though I’m still trying to get her to use the tech features. My next EV will be the VW ID Buzz. I’ve been lusting after it since I saw the concept. We have to wait for 2023 but I believe it’ll be worth it. I’ve owned 16 VWs and have loved them all, even the diesel ones. QUESTION OF THE WEEK WITH EMOBILITYNORWAY.COM What’s the best specialist vehicle you can think of which would make a great EV? Email me your thoughts and I’ll read them out on Sunday – hello@evnewsdaily.com

The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship is primed and ready for another memorable year after officially launching its 2021 season at Silverstone today (April 22), announcing a capacity 29-car entry list. After an unprecedented yet entertaining 2020 campaign, which ended with Ashley Sutton clinching the Drivers' crown for a second time, Britain's premier motorsport series is set to return with a bumper grid and to its traditional ten round, 30-race format.Kicking the season off behind closed doors at Thruxton next month, the series will then head to Snetterton, Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and Knockhill before making a second visit to Thruxton. Visits to Croft, Silverstone and Donington Park will follow before the traditional finale at back at Brands Hatch in late October.Donning the mantel of defending champion and running the famed number one on his Infiniti Q50, Sutton sticks with Laser Tools Racing for the new season as he bids to retain his titles in both the overall championship and Independents'. Aiden Moffat and Carl Boardley will partner Sutton at the rear-wheel-drive squad.West Surrey Racing and Team BMW proved to be the closest challengers to Sutton last year and the reigning Teams' & Manufacturer champions have swelled to three cars once again with Colin Turkington, Tom Oliphant and Stephen Jelley tasked with piloting the 330i M Sport to glory. It is an all-new line-up at Halfords Racing with Cataclean however with Dan Cammish returning to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and Matt Neal taking a step back from driving duties. Whilst one three-time champion steps back, another returns in the shape of Gordon Shedden as the Scotsman rejoins Team Dynamics to partner Daniel Rowbottom.Another driver to make a popular return to this grid after a year on the sidelines is Jason Plato. Electing to sit out 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the double champion is back at Power Maxed Car Care Racing in the Vauxhall Astra and gunning to tally his 100th victory in the series. Daniel Lloyd, a race-winner in the BTCC, gets a full-time drive to partner Plato.Toyota Gazoo Racing UK steps up its BTCC programme this year as it expands to two cars. Rory Butcher fills the void left by Tom Ingram in the Speedworks Motorsport-run Corolla and he is joined by Sam Smelt, who last competed in the series in 2018.Ingram's departure from Toyota sparked a frenzy during the off-season and the former Independents' champion has found a new home at Excelr8 Trade Price Cars. Armed with the Hyundai i30N, Ingram has his tail in the air and is hungry for success. He's joined at the four-strong squad by Chris Smiley, Jack Butel and former British GT champion Rick Parfitt Jnr.Elsewhere, Ciceley Motorsport have acquired the services of Tom Chilton to partner Adam Morgan and they have parted ways with the Mercedes Benz A-Class. In its place are a pair of West Surrey Racing-built BMW 330i M Sport's and hopes are high for the Car Gods-backed outfit.BTC Racing are another to have high hopes for the season ahead and with good reason as Josh Cook has remained with the team to drive their Honda Civic Type R. Michael Crees, Jack sears Trophy champion last year, has also inked a new deal to stay whilst Jade Edwards will get a full-season after debuting at Silverstone in 2020.Motorbase Performance and MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square are another two teams to have joined forces over the winter to field a quartet of Ford Focus', and they will run as Manufacturer/Construtors entrants. Sam Osborne and Andy Neate will run out of the Motorbase side of the garage whilst Jake Hill and Ollie Jackson will do the same for MB Motorsport.

Our end-of-the-year episode highlights testers' personal highs and lows of the year. These cars don't necessarily bracket our formal ratings, but they stand out in our collective memory. We really like cars that balance sport and practicality, with positive votes for the Porsche Macan, BMW M235i, and Volkswagen Golf/GTI. Minority votes also went to the Range Rover, Subaru Outback, and Chevrolet SS. Cars that made our least-liked list generally promised more than they delivered. Despite its storied marque, several of us dissed the Maserati Ghibli for falling short of luxury sport car expectations. Other cars earning brickbats include the Chrysler 200, Mercedes-Benz GLA and CLA, and the Infiniti Q50. Reaching beyond 2014, some of us dug up some older-introduced cars that still bug them today.
