Slip behind the wheel of luxury as we explore the redesigned 2025 Lincoln Nautilus, a midsize SUV that's redefining automotive elegance. From the moment you lay eyes on its symmetrical wheel openings and sophisticated body sculpting to the Black Label grille adorned with chrome star-like dots, this vehicle demands attention for all the right reasons. The true revelation happens inside the cabin, where Lincoln has implemented a revolutionary door-to-door digital display that spans the entire dashboard. This stunning technological achievement, paired with adjustable massage seating and premium materials throughout, creates an interior experience that left our reviewers speechless. Despite being assembled in Hangzhou, China, the Nautilus maintains its distinctly American luxury character with a smooth, comfortable ride that makes every journey a pleasure.Powered by a capable 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder delivering 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, the Nautilus balances performance with efficiency, achieving 25.5 mpg during our testing. Starting at $51,790, it positions itself against competitors like the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Genesis GV70, and Acura RDX, offering a distinctive alternative in the luxury SUV landscape. We also dive into the fascinating world of global automotive partnerships, exploring how Ford and Volkswagen's collaboration has yielded the impressive Amarok pickup, built on the Ford Ranger platform with 7,700 pounds of towing capacity. Our review of the Ford Ranger Lariat 4x4 reveals how today's midsize trucks now match the dimensions and capabilities of what used to be considered full-size pickups just decades ago. We also touch on more exciting news from the world of EVs, such as Skoda's new Elroq and LeapMotor's budget-friendly entries into the UK market, including the TT03, which promises to be one of the most affordable electric cars available. We wrap up the episode with our fan-favourite myth-busting segment. The all-new 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV and the recently renewed 2024 Genesis Electrified GV70 represent two different approaches to solving the electric vehicle puzzle. The Equinox EV is built on the General Motors Ultium dedicated battery-electric vehicle platform, while the Electrified GV70 leverages the conventionally powered GV70 body, chassis, and interior. Each approach has its pluses and minuses, and executives in those two companies to tell you. What our two test vehicles suggest is that the two paths lead to the same destination. Though they are similar in size, the Equinox EV and Electrified GV70 are not head-to-head competitors. As one of the battery-electric touchstones of GM's lowest-priced brand, the Equinox EV has been touted as a vehicle that will bring affordable electric vehicles to the masses. Co-Host Chris Teague, who road-tested the Equinox EV, and Host Jack Nerad will discuss how well the new Chevy accomplishes that task. The Genesis GV70 has a different mission — to bring electric propulsion to the increasingly popular and increasingly competitive small luxury crossover class. Those woods are currently filling up with EVs, many of them struggling to find willing buyers. Do the GV70's handsome looks and 3.8-second 0-60 acceleration give it the push it needs to break through in the marketplace. Nerad, who road-tested the GV70, and Teague will bat that issue around in this episode. While we are on the subject of luxury vehicles, our special guest this week is Lexus's Cynthia Tenhouse, who serves as vice president of the Lexus Guest Experience. Toyota's luxury marque has proceeded very slowly in introducing battery-electric vehicles to its lineup even as virtually all of its luxury-brand competitors have charged ahead. We'll discuss the brand's wait-and-see strategy and many other topics with her in a wide-ranging discussion about the current state of the luxury vehicle market. You'll want to hear what she has to say. In the news, two prominent American electric carmakers are in the midst of a dust-up in court. We'll tell you who Tesla's Elon Musk is suing and what's likely to happen next. Beyond that court battle, Musk also angling to become a strong competitor to Waymo in the robotaxi wars that are set to develop in several cities around the country in the coming months. And Waymo is taking a special jab at Tesla as just one skirmish in what promises to be an epic battle. A new survey reveals that enthusiasm for driving and collector cars isn't dying, as some would have you believe. Instead, the Hagerty-sponsored survey reveals that Americans' love for automobiles remains strong across several generations. There is also tragedy in Chicago, as an iconic vehicle is involved in a major crash. We'll have the details on that and so much more in this episode of America on the Road. America on the Road is brought to you by Driving Today.com, Mercury Insurance, and EMLandsea.com , the publisher of Nerad's latest book, Dance in the Dark, which is available HERE on Amazon.com

On this bonus episode of Slip The Jab, Lino breaks the news to Ian that there's no more hope of them becoming Polaris Slingshot buddies after finally getting to test drive one. Lino gives his thoughts on what he did and didn't like about the Slingshot, the other cars he test drove including the new Mercedes CLE, Genesis GV70, and how Chevy refused to let him test drive the new Stingray Corvette. Lino tells the story of how the finance manager at Mercedes tried to rape his wife (in the financial sense), why she's more mad about it than he is, and we finish out what was supposed to be a 5 minute intro into episode 204 with a discussion on how far V4 engines have come. Selecting the cars of the year helps celebrate another year reviewing new cars and trucks, visiting auto shows and talking with vintage car owners, book authors and industry experts about their cars of the year. There are always great and not-so-great moments driving vehicles. The industry is always abuzz. There are always changes, oddball statistics, recalls and new models and makes. What has Elon Musk done now? Will autonomous driving and EVs ever make a significant difference? Will low-profile tires stop blowing while negotiating small divots in the road? Will Audi ever change its front-grille design? As much as the automotive industry changes, sometimes not much happens. In 2007, the year the iPhone debuted, the starting price of the Toyota Corolla was $14,925; In 2022, the year a robotic toy cat that nibbles for human comfort made its debut, the starting price of a Toyota Corolla was $20,245. The average price of a new car in 2007 was $27,958. In 2022, the new car price average surpassed $48,000. Three years after TheWeeklyDriver.com debuted, I began to compile a list of top-10 cars of the year. It was also in 2007. The list is now in its 16th year. The 2022 Ford Lightning is the first full-size electric pickup truck. It was on the TheWeeklyDriver.com's list of cars of the year. Image © James Raia/2022. As co-hosts of The Weekly Driver Podcast, Bruce Aldrich and I have expanded my yearly list of cars of the year and detailed the choices during a podcast episode. We're now in our sixth year. Many automotive publications select their best vehicles of the year at the start of the calendar year. I've always announced the selections at the end of the year. Bruce and I agree it's a better approach while reviewing current model year cars throughout the calendar year. Sometimes, a new year's model debuts prior to its corresponding calendar year. Sometimes, new models arrive later in the year. The 2017 Bentley Bentayga is the fastest SUV ever made. It topped TheWeeklyDriver.com's list of cars of the year in 2017. Image © Michael Kahn/Frogstone Media, 2017. This year, as per usual, I reviewed about 40 cars. Bruce also drove most of them, often to lunch after our podcasts and sometimes for extended review sessions. For several years, we made videos before switching to a podcast format. During some years, we've picked a car of the year, like the 2020 Corvette Stingray, the debut year of the mid-engine model. In 2017, the Bentley Bentayga was easily our favorite. In our 250th episode, Bruce and I discuss our respective lists of cars of the year, an exercise we compile individually and then share during the podcast. We mostly make the same selections. The 2020 Corvette stunned the auto world with its mid-engine design and new interior and exterior styling. It was theweeklydriver.com's top pick for 2020 Cars of the Year. Image © James Raia. One exception this year: Bruce selected the BMW M3 Competition; it didn't make my list. We didn't pick a top car of the year in 2022, but we agreed the Ford Lighting was the vehicle we liked the most for its innovation in the expanding electric vehicle segment. The rest of the list doesn't represent the most expensive, most powerful or most of anything else. It's just 10 cars and trucks that stood out for a reason or two. My lists dating to 2004 are listed below. Follow the year links for more details on each vehicle. Bruce discusses his list on the podcast episode. Enjoy. 2022 Ford Lightning, Genesis GV70, Kia EV6, Mercedes-AMG ESQ, Cadillac CT5, Mazda MX-5 Miata, Genesis G70, Toyota Corolla Hybrid, Mercedes-Maybach, Subaru Outback. 2021 Honda Odyssey, Honda Accord Hybrid, Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-150, Genesis GV80, Toyota RAV4 Prime XSE, Genesis GV90, Aston Martin Vantage, Mustang Mach-E, Rolls-Royce Ghost 2020 Corvette Stingray, Aston Martin Vantage, Genesis G90, Ford Bullitt Mustang, Hyundai Palisade, Jeep Gladiator,

Volkswagen might have been lagging behind the rest of the market in the highly competitive crossover battle, but the company has fleshed out its portfolio to try to solve all of life's transportation problems. The latest gas-powered crossover to join VW's ranks is a compact crossover that effectively fills the void left by the departed Golf. Dubbed the VW Taos, this entry-level VW starts just shy of $25,000 and pits it in the middle of the compact-crossover battle. Powering this Taos is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that sends 158 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque through either an eight-speed automatic transmission before hitting the front wheels or a seven-speed automatic if equipped with the 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. In a similar place, Genesis is also constantly expanding its crossover options to help sway buyers into the fold. While larger, and more expensive, than the Taos, the Genesis GV70 does a similar amount of heavy lifting for the team at Genesis. At least, the GV70 helpts to expand the Genesis lineup and give prospective buyers all the options that their heart, and the market, demands. Powering the Genesis GV70 is either a 2.5-liter turbocharged I4 or a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6. Both transmissions feed an eight-speed automatic that then transfers power to the standard all-wheel-drive system. On this bonus episode of Quick Spin, Autoweek boss Natalie Neff chats with Wesley Wren about her time in the Genesis GV70 and the Volkswagen Taos. The pair also talk about the growing demand for crossovers, the roles that both of these vehicles play for each respective company and more. #car #cars #vw #volkswagen #genesis #carreview

The proposal also calls for zero-emissions sales to account for 68% of total sales by 2030. - The board is expected to vote on the proposal in August. Benjamin drives the new 2022 Infiniti QX60 and frames his take on it by discusshing the heirarchy of luxury car brands. What is Tier 1 Luxury anyways and where does Infiniti rank? While the QX60 shares many components with the Nissan Pathfinder, the styling and effort with the details are supposed to make it stand out, so find out what Benjamin thinks after his time with the 3-row Japanese luxury SUV. Then Sami goes on a wild discussion about three of the newest and hottest luxury crossovers on the market. The 2022 Lexus NX has a new look and touch-screen interface, but is that enough to overcome the other options in the segment? The 2022 BMW X3 has the best motor in the segment, and a familiar cabin and experience, though can feel a bit choppy at times. Finally the 2022 Genesis GV70 seems like the jack-of-all-trades, with an experience that's good enough for most. Finally, Sami surprises Ben with a new lightning round game called "This or That." Benjamin dives deep into the crossover-turned-pickup-truck known as the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz. As Sami chants "Utes not Coupes," he explains why this quirky compact trucklet is in the running for his Car of the Year. Or would that be Truck of the Year? Sami gets another go in the 2022 Genesis GV70, but this time it's the more affordable 2.5T model. Considering there's a $20,000 gap between the entry level turbo 4 and the top trim V6, his experience provides a rounded understanding of the Korean luxury crossover., one that sends the duo on a nostalgic trip to a time when Infiniti was a competitive brand There's also a new segment this week, where Benjamin explains the importance of understanding your tire's contact patch and how time at the track can help you feel confident and safe driving in winter weather. Volvo is charging ahead with its plan to electrify its fleet in less than a decade, but it continues to renew its gasoline-powered models as well. One strong example is the 2022 Volvo XC60 midsize luxury crossover that gets a completely new powertrain for the new model year. We recently had the opportunity to drive it in the hills of Malibu, California, and then spoke to its key product planner, Gauging Kalsaria. In the interview Kalsaria reveals how Volvo sees its new powertrains as stepping stones toward full electrification. And he and Host Jack Nerad explore EVs and other topics in the wide-ranging discussion. In the road test segment,Co-host Chris Teague and Host Jack Nerad share their views on two mid-size SUVs. From his post in Maine, Chris Teague tests the 2022 Ford Explorer, the latest iteration of one of the most popular sport-utility vehicles of all time. And he'll tell us how he thinks it fares against the current competition. Also in the road test segment, Host Jack Nerad reports from behind the wheel of the all-new Genesis GV70 compact crossover utility. With two impressive engine choices and eye-catching styling inside and out the GV70 could be a strong contender for North American Utility Vehicle of the Year honors. In the news, there is drama at Volkswagen this week as the automaker's plans to shift to electric vehicles upsets its workforce in Germany. Some feel that Volkswagen is going too fast on its plan to go electric, while others suggest it is going far too slow. Will this strife cost its CEO his job? Can Volkswagen out-Tesla Elon Musk? We'll explore that in this week's episode. And we'll also discuss the lengths car dealers are going to so they can obtain cars to sell. It's all coming upon this week's episode of America on The Road.

Sami and Benjamin are BACK! Sami gives his first impressions of Fords Jeep Wrangler-rival, aka the 2022 Bronco. Does it fill all the gaps left behind by Jeep's iconic SUV? Did he get wet from a leaky roof? Can a vehicle with the name BAD in its trim be a success? You gotta listen to find out! Then Sami jumps into the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz, and reassures listeners that this isn't a Subaru Baja re-do. Benjamin follows up with his thorough review of the 2022 Genesis GV70, (even though he forgot KEY DETAILS ABOUT THE POWERTRAIN) as well as it's somewhat confusing controls and biometric monitoring. Is the only thing holding Genesis back from mainstream success a mention in a Jay Z track?

Benjamin gets a taste of the 2021 BMW M4 Competition, which has a magical grille that causes him to make up words and endure uncomfortable seats. He claims it's ok that the coupe is automatic-only because it provides a serious power upgrade for very little cash—even compared to similarly-priced muscle cars like the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 and the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. Sami samples the 2022 Genesis GV70, a vehicle that has the entire weight of the Genesis brand on its fenders. Luckily, it has features like a 3D gauge cluster and a fingerprint reader to accomplish its mission. Is it good enough to overshadow its German SUV rivals? Finally, the pair poke fun at a weird multidimensional press release from Hyundai.

We also share a story about how a question from a Talking Cars viewer led to a change in the IIHS' ratings for the Mazda CX-5.

There's always a lot happening in the auto industry. But it's been a particularly wild ride lately. Tiger Woods crashed a new 2021 Genesis GV70. I test drove a 2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost for four days. And a new coffee table-sized book on the new mid-engine Corvette C8 has been published. Co-hosts Bruce Aldrich and James Raia discuss the three topics and more on this episode of The Weekly Driver Podcast. Bruce Aldrich and James Raia discuss Tiger Woods, the 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost and a new book on the mid-engine Corvette C8 on this episode of The Weekly Driver Podcast. Image © Gretchen Gaither/2021. Woods sustained multiple leg injuries early February 23 when he was involved in a single-car accident in Los Angeles County. The accident continued the golf icon's years of misfortune while driving. After removing Woods from his vehicle with the “jaws of life,” the golfer was taken by ambulance to Harbor UCLA Medical Center. It was Woods' third car accident since 2009. Woods, 45, an 82-time PGA Tour winner, was in the Southern California area for his annual Genesis Invitational golf tournament at the Riviera Country Club in the Pacific Palisades. A lot still remains unknown about the accident and Woods' future. Bruce and I give our opinions, which mostly streamline to: "Hey Tiger. Live Longer. Hire A Driver." Tiger Woods suffered multiple leg injuries Feb. 23 in a single-car accident in Southern California. It was Woods' third car accident since 2007. Woods recently had another in his long series of back surgeries and he recently said his recovery could recent back surgery could keep him out of the upcoming Masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia. The 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost attracted as much attention as any vehicle I've reviewed in 16 years as an automotive journalist The entry-level Ghost and siblings Cullinan, Dawn, Phantom and Wraith attract attention like no other carmaker's offerings. Global sales of 5,125 in 2020 continued the brand's reputation. It's a name everyone knows, a car few see. The Cullinan, the company's first SUV, debuted in 2018. It catapulted sales to record levels. The Ghost is described as the carmaker's “purest expression.” Podcast No. 172: Tiger Woods, Rolls-Royce, Corvette CB Book Who's to argue? Newness abounds this year in the long-anticipated five-passenger sedan's second generation. The so-called entry-level Rolls Royce was the brand's top-seller for the previous decade. The new Ghost features a 6.75-liter, twin-turbo, 48-valve V12. It produces 563 horsepower and advances from zero to 60 miles per hour, via its eight-speed automatic transmission, in 4.6 seconds. The top speed is 155 miles per hour. The drive is powerful, smooth, quiet and carried on 21-inch, 10-spoke wheels. And while the wheels spin, the RR center emblems remain upright. It's all impressive for a vehicle that weighs 5,540 pounds and extends slightly more than 18 feet. And speaking of beauty, consider the new Corvette. The debuts of the 2020 C8 and its 2021 sibling, both delayed in production by the coronavirus pandemic, feature what Chevy considered for decades — a mid-engine. With diminishing sales for several years, the eighth generation is unlike any previous Corvette. Its engineers, like other renowned American artists, were influenced by European supercar masters from Ferrari, Lamborghini and McLaren. Some purists were aghast, others welcomed the change. With a starting price of less than $60,000 and stunning specs — a 6.2-liter V8, top-speed of 194 miles per hour and 0-60 mph in less than three seconds — the new Corvette has global sales aspirations. Chevy hopes its sports car flagship's reputation, cultivating since 1953, accelerates across continents and into competitors' domains. The new Corvette also disrupts previous signature traits. An eight-speed, double-clutch transmission replaces a stick shift. Please join us for another episode as we examine the ever-changi...
