Season 15, Episode 1, produced by Sunbeam Varuna School & Hostel Varanasi. Ismat - "If you concentrate on what you have, you'll always have more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you'll never have enough." - Lewis Howes Astha - Maintaining an attitude of gratitude holds significant importance as it transforms our mindset. By redirecting our attention from ourselves towards appreciating people or things, we open doors to express gratitude for every facet of our lives. Ismat - Cultivating this attitude involves consciously appreciating major and minor aspects regularly, such as relationships, health, business, possessions, necessities like food and water, or our general sense of wellness. Astha - Embracing an attitude of gratitude lets us engage from a standpoint of abundance. Nurturing this mindset cultivates greater happiness, positivity, and compassion towards ourselves and those in our circles. Ismat- Centering on what brings us gratitude helps build more vigorous habits of appreciating the significant individuals and elements in our lives. Gratitude, fundamentally, involves appreciating what we possess rather than fixating on what we might lack. This is our first attempt, we hope you enjoy our podcast, please share your comments and help us do better next time. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/learningforward/support

Thinking of Ismat Chughtai today as we come closer to her death Anniversary. Ismat boldly went where few women then or even now dare to go. She took on the world of men, including their writings, and turned it all on its head. She appropriated their language, their stereotypes, their prejudices and shaped bold narratives about women that unmasked the genteel society's hypocrisy and bigotry. ---------------------------------------- My podcast on other platforms: Spotifyopen.spotify.com/show/0rG7ez0Pku1MuWhfvo6Dtz Apple Podcastspodcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/storyjam-hindi-urdu-audio-stories/id1513845846 Gaana.comgaana.com/podcast/storyjam-hindi-urdu-audio-stories-season-1 RadioPublicradiopublic.com/storyjam-GmywpN Pocket Castspca.st/rwdymlsd Overcastovercast.fm/itu #Hindi #StoryJam #hindikavita #Urdupoetry #urdu #IsmatChughtai #Ismat #IsmatAapa #gangajamuni #lihaaf #lihaf #Manto #Feminism #indiafeminism --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/storyjam/message

And we end with talks about Greek Mythology and Greek Gods. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

We talk about how we totally called that Cyberpunk 2077 would get delayed again and this leads us to talk about other titles that take forever to release or never happen. Chris and Kevin watched Borat Subsequent Moviefilm and enthuse about it with Ismat. We talk about really bad horror movies. Chris tells the other two about the new Pokemon in the Crown Tundra. We think up our own game that would be designed to screw with the player in very malicious ways. Then we talk about some titles announced in the Nintendo Mini Direct. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

The Xbox Game Pass and EA Origin systems suck. Squadrons looks like what we've always wanted EA to give us in a Battlefront game. Genshin Impact is still popping off. We talk about fast food for maybe too long, but sandwiches good. Pokemon released it's second ever DLC pack with Crown Tundra. We talk about what will be the next eeveelution. Fire Emblem is having a 30th Anniversary release. And Kevin watched Borat 2 to find out a bombshell. This week we also continue the saga of Ismat-dono, where some new allies and enemies get introduced to the story.
This week the beans are going to discuss anime in a very intelligent manner. Good anime, bad anime, stuff that ended too quickly, and stuff that should have ended a long time ago. Then at the end, we take a stab at writing our own anime plot starring mustache Ismat. Ismat finally got his Valve Index and bumped into his wall a few times. HBO Max is trying to control our wallets by stealing all the good stuff. Borat is getting subsequent moviefilm. They put the brown bricks in Smash Bros. Bethesda is apparently better than we first thought of. Ismat tells us the glorious details of the South Park Pandemic Special. Genshin Impact and Super Mario 35 hit the ground running this week, but Chris only likes one of them. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

As devoted followers of the Kingdom Hearts canon, we can't possibly ignore Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. We sort of look past Fuser, sorry we're just not rhythm or music-making people. Ismat gives us some insight and warning about viruses disguised as World of Tanks. Big Rumble Boxing has the Rocky universe in it so we just start talking about the Rocky and Creed films. Chris gives some Final Fantasy history while talking about the Collection of SaGa. Kevin will die on this hill of getting Persona 4 Golden on consoles. Just Dance is just dance... The Eye Toy and the Kinect had better days, but their legacy was hilarious. Chris says Puyo Puyo which is a very cumbersome word to say. We finally talk about the Mario 35th Anniversary halfway through the episode. We go back in time with the Mario Bros. Game & Watch. Chris is going to force Kevin and Ismat to play Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. Catch us trolling in Super Mario Bros. 35. Chris is going to convert his home into a speedway for Mario Kart Home Circuit. And of course, as much as Chris loves Super Mario 3D All-Stars he can't ignore the unnecessary censorship. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

We really like the look of The Batman and that gets us on a tear about the many onscreen Batmen. The Snyder Cut has us excited and hopeful about the future of the DCEU. Gotham Knights... looks fine, but we're pretty passionate about Rocksteady's Arkham series and how bad Arkham Origins was. We love the many interpretations of Batman and that's why Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton sharing the screen in The Flash gets us all hot and bothered. Also, we talk about the DC Animated Universe for a while, including the 90's and 00's cartoons. The Suicide Squad movie and game both look dope. Shazam! is a great movie that's all I want to say. And Titans seems to be going the direction a lot of DC properties go: it's becoming Batman. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
This week the beans watched the PlayStation State of Play from August 6th. Crash Bandicoot 4 is coming out and Chris can't get the boys to even look at him. Hitman 3 in PSVR is exactly the experience Ismat needs in his life. Vader Immortal is giving us Star Wars Kinect flashbacks. Braid Anniversary is good, but why 13 years later? Ismat really likes The Pathless but doesn't feel like buying it--a running theme for this episode. Spelunky 2 takes us back to the days of the Xbox Live Arcade. Genshin Impact may be anime Breath of the Wild, but is that a bad thing? Godfall looks dope, but also very meh. Anno Mutationem is a game I think? Bugsnax is eww, Auto Chess is boring, The Pedestrian was there, Hood looks good, and TemTem blew our brains out. Konami is making gaming PCs apparently. We like pretzels, particularly from Auntie Anne's. Kevin has been watching Umbrella Academy which is getting a second season. Rick and Morty season 5 is getting closer every day. We talk about our favorite Con experience where Kevin met Brian Baumgartner. We try to think of what the best PS4 game was. We talk a lot about Pokemon again, we still love those spin-offs like Mystery Dungeon DX and Pokemon Ranger. We talk about food for a while, so if you're into good eats we got something for you. We educate Kevin about introverts vs. extroverts. And we talk about the TikTok ban and Ismat educates us on some gruesome things China has done to Muslims, but not in so much detail that it would warrant a trigger warning. Sorry if the last few minutes get a little serious.
This week the beans resurrected Ismat from the grave to watch the Xbox Games Showcase from July 23rd. Halo Infinite looks like it could be really good, but Kevin and Chris aren't that impressed by what's been shown. We also talk about our favorite Halo game, Halo Reach, and we talk about how confused we are by the current state of Halo following Halo 5. Fable was announced at the end of the show, but Kevin and Chris couldn't help jumping ahead to gush over the great times. Forza gets a hard skip from us. Everwild is very beautiful. If Tell Me Why is anything like Life is Strange then it'll be on our lists yesterday, even if games of that style remind us of the sad fall of Telltale Games. We're glad to see Obsidian come in strong with Outer Worlds and Grounded. And we've got a whole lot more to say about the whole show and plenty more. This week the beans finally got to play through SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated. Ismat and Kevin are hype for Re:Zero and Dr. Stone both getting second seasons this year and they discuss (with SPOILERS) their thoughts on season 1 for both shows. And the beans got their first request for a topic to discuss, Scary Games from a friend. Resident Evil Village has been announced and Resident Evil is one of the only "scary" game series that Chris is familiar with. As promised the beans start discussing many scary games: Outlast, Alien: Isolation, Predator: Hunting Grounds, Friday the 13th: The Game, Dead by Daylight, Until Dawn, Man of Medan, Blair Witch, The Evil Within 2. Talking about scary games based on movies leads us to talk about good scary movies: Triangle, The Circle, The Cabin in the Woods, Halloween. But of course, we couldn't forget our favorite horror game, Doki Doki Literature Club, and hopefully, Kevin will have played it by the next episode. The Beans haven't gotten much time to play Last of Us Part II, but we're still shocked all the same about the state of it. Since the PS5 Digital Edition is fresh on our minds we can't help but think about the commercial and conceptual failures of Google's Stadia, the OUYA, and the Steam Machine. As much as we love GameStop we know it's on its last legs, Kevin reminisces on some great times and Ismat gives so insight from the STONKS. Min Min is in Smash... anyways. After the past few expansions for Mortal Kombat 11 have dropped Kevin just gets angrier with it and goes off for a while. We also talk shop on PC gaming, Ismat throws numbers around while Kevin and Chris space out. And of course, some nostalgic PS2 boys gotta gush over SpongeBob Rehydrated and the original Battle for Bikini Bottom.
