On this episode of The Middle School Mind, we talk about the Oculus Quest 2 VR system and why middle schoolers want this system this holiday season. Today's show featured: All I want for Christmas is an Oculus Quest 2 What is Virtual Reality (VR)? What are the popular games for the Oculus Quest? Beat Saber - kind of like Guitar Hero meets Fruit Ninja. Billie Eilish has her special edition Beat Saber music pack. If Eminem released a Beat Saber music pack, you would get a great workout. Oculus Rift vs. Oculus Quest vs. Oculus Quest 2. Blade & Sorcery - may not be for all ages as there may be blood and guts, try it before you buy it if there's a demo version. Blade & Sorcery is also similar to another VR game called Boneworks. Job Simulator. Play as a robot to do these random jobs. Be a store clerk, a chef, an accountant or work at a car wash. Do the work and don't get paid. Vader Immortal - a Star Wars inspired game for the Oculus. Our regularly scheduled pitch to Mr. Jeff Bezos for sponsorship. Games that have no business being made for the Oculus (or any gaming system for that matter) Sitting Chair Simulator - hold on to your seats, literally, hold on and have a seat. Sit and don't be fit. Netflix TV Static Screen - imagine watching Netflix over someone's shoulder on a blurry screen with bad audio. Poke Simulator - you are constantly being poked and poking other people. Fart Game - you make fart noises and you are rated on how it sounds. Quiz Time: We Play "Game Or Not a Game" - which of these games are real VR games and which are made up? Moss - Game or Not a Game? Oculus Raft - Game or Not a Game? Werewolves Within - Game or Not a Game? Thumper - Game or Not a Game? Bob Ross' A Little Bit of Happy - Game or Not a Game? Thanks to all of our listeners. Alhussein aldujaili - Greetings Brian, Hope you and the family are doing well. Big fan from Iraq. My question is what is your favorite moment from each star wars medium. May the force be with you. Alhussein (aamj00) 2.) Hunter West - Hey brian! Just found your podcast and loved it so much i went back and listened to some old episodes. Its awesome to see how your show has grown and evolved. Whether you realize it or not you are building something great and it shows. Keep up the great work. I was wondering if you would be willing to speak at length on the state of the fandom nowadays. I know there is a toxic aspect to it so I would love to hear your thoughts on the matter. Be well my friend! 3.) Adam Price - Hello there, swcp. I love your channel and content. Keep up the good work. I think we all know at this point hayden christianson was supposed to be in ros. Would you have been happy with his appearance at the end of the film? Personally I would have been ecstatic to see him as anakin skywalker one more time. What do you think? May the force be with you! 4.) Noah Reed - Brian, huge fan here. I've listened to your show for almost a year now, and you have my ultimate respect. To find a true Star Wars fan that doesn't put others down for their opinions is truly a rare thing. Glad to call you a fellow fan. There is a petition going around right now to have episode 3 remade in animation with the clone wars characters. Do you feel like this is something that could be really special for fans? Would love to hear your thoughts on it! 5.) Alyssa Woods - Heyyy Brian! Really big fan of you and your show! Hope to see you working with lucasfilm in an official capacity someday! I watched your first look video for your mobile app coming out and I am really impressed. Cannot wait for it to be released. You should be incredibly proud. My question is why is the whole debate whether Han shot before Greedo so important to SW fans? I constantly see people arguing about it, but I guess I just don't understand the reasoning behind being upset about the changes. Looking forward to hearing what your take on the debate is. May the force be with you, always! Few properties seem better suited to tap VR than Star Wars, if only because… you know, lightsabers. And Lucasfilm knows it. They've just announced Star Wars: Vader Immortal — a three part, at-home experience that'll launch on Oculus' just announced standalone Quest headset. Alas, there's not much to go on besides the name, a quick teaser trailer, and that it's launching sometime in 2019.
