Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth Interview with Lesley Nicol, Renowned Actress, Downton Abbey's “Mrs. Patmore” About Harvey's guest: Today's guest, Lesley Nicol, is a beloved actress from England, whose show-stopping portrayal of “Mrs. Patmore” on the iconic television series “Downton Abbey”, and the 2 feature films that followed, has contributed enormously to the popularity and success of that wonderful show.   She and her fellow “Downton Abbey” cast members received 3 Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.  But beyond “Downton Abbey”, our guest has done much, much more in her remarkable career.    On stage in London's West End, she played “Rosie” in the original production of the international smash hit show, “Mama Mia”.  She originated the role of “Kath” in “Our House”, based on the music of Madness.  She played “Little Buttercup” in the revival of “HMS Pinafore”.  And she originated the role of the nosy neighbour, “Auntie Annie”, not only in the play, “East is East”, but also in the multi-award winning 1999 film and in the sequel, “West is West”.   On television, besides “Downton Abbey”, she's appeared in dozens of series, mini-series and TV movies including “The Practice”, “The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe”, “Staying Alive”, “Casualty”, “Shameless”, “The Bill”, “Heartbeat”, “Hot in Cleveland”, “The Catch”, “Beecham House”, and many more.   And you may also recognize her as “Aunt Tea” from a series of TV commercials for Tetley tea.   Our guest is also very well known for her dedicated service to several important charities.  She is a UK Ambassador for “Animals Asia”, which is devoted to ending the barbaric practice of bear bile farming, and to improving the welfare of animals in China and Vietnam.  She is also an ambassador for Medical Detection Dogs, which trains dogs to detect human disease and to assist people to manage complex medical conditions.   For more interviews and podcasts go to: https://www.harveybrownstoneinterviews.com/ To learn more about Lesley Nicol, go to:http://www.lesleynicol.co.uk/https://twitter.com/lesley_nicol #lesleynicol   #harveybrownstoneinterviews

Jeannette talks to renowned theatre director, Luke Kernaghan, on the ways in which he has harnessed the power of his creativity to unlock success, the value of connections and how networking has accelerated his journey of growth, and why following your passions is the key to lifelong happiness when it comes to your career choice. KEY TAKEAWAYS There is no substitute for authenticity, and you cannot truly be yourself until you've asked the internal questions required. Sometimes the forces that drive us are difficult to identify, and manifest themselves through instinct. We should always listen to our inner voice. If we are able to identify our passions, and forge a career in that sector, then working becomes a privilege, and fulfilment is far easier to achieve. Theatre in particular, thrives upon community. Those who are in the field, raise each other up and encourage support from all sides. BEST MOMENTS 'Your energy is incredible. You clearly love what you do' 'My journey was not linear' 'You don't go into theatre to make money!' This is the perfect time to get focused on what YOU want to really achieve in your business, career, and life. It's never too late to be BRAVE and BOLD and unlock your inner BRILLIANCE. JEFF BERGMAN, voice of Bugs Bunny in upcoming SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY and Yogi Bear in new HBO Max series JELLYSTONE!, premiering July 29thABOUT JELLYSTONE!, DEBUTING ON HBO MAX JULY 29thHey, Hey, Hey! Yogi Bear, Cindy Bear, Huckleberry Hound and a Universe of Hanna-Barbara Characters Welcome You to Jellystone! Yogi, Boo Boo and Cindy, alongside an epic ensemble cast of Hanna-Barbera characters, are returning to television screens in the all-new animated comedy, Jellystone! The Max Original series helmed by acclaimed showrunner and executive producer C.H. Greenblatt and produced by Warner Bros. Animation, presents a reimagined take on these beloved characters, modernizing them for today's family audience and introducing them to a new generation of fans. Season one premieres Thursday, July 29 on HBO Max.Set in the charming town of the same name, Jellystone! follows an ensemble of Hanna-Barbera characters as they live, work, play, and (as is often the case), destroy the town in some silly way together. Huckleberry Hound proudly serves as the town's mayor; Cindy, Boo Boo and Yogi are the town's medical staff; Jabberjaw works at Magilla's clothing store where they supply all the bow ties and hats to the town's citizens; and every character has a specific role in the community. Their paths cross in fun and ridiculous ways, turning everyday activities into hilarious pandemonium."I grew up watching tons of Hanna-Barbera cartoons and have a deep love for these characters," said Greenblatt. "The massive amount of both classic and not-so-classic characters we were able to use from the Hanna-Barbera library is what really makes the Jellystone! universe special. Rather than recreate the feeling of cartoons of the past, we wanted to have silly, weird fun with these characters and expand their personalities to give them more depth. Chances are if there's a character you love, you'll see them somewhere in this world eventually. We hope longtime fans appreciate our take on this world, and we're excited that parents get to introduce and enjoy their favorite Hanna-Barbera characters with their kids."Greenblatt serves as showrunner and executive producer, and voices several characters including Doggie Daddy, Boo Boo, Peter Potamus, and Benny. Joining him in this talented voice cast includes: Jeff Bergman, the voice of Yogi, Mr. Jinks, Wally Gator, and Lippy the Lion; Jim Conroy, the voice of Huckleberry Hound, Captain Caveman, and Pa Rugg, and more; Georgie Kidder, the voice of Auggie Doggie, Brain, and Floral Rugg; Grace Helbig, the voice of Cindy Bear, Yappy, Taffy, and Granny Sweet; Niccole Thurman, the voice of Jabberjaw, Squiddly Diddly, and Dee Dee Sykes; Thomas Lennon, the voice of Top Cat; Ron Funches, the voice of Shag Rugg; Bernardo de Paula, the voice of El Kabong and Mildew Wolf; Dana Snyder, the voice of Snagglepuss, Touché Turtle, and Lambsy; Katie Grober, the voice of Yakky Doodle; Paul F. Gymnastics New Zealand has released the report documenting the findings of the independent review which was commissioned following serious and distressing allegations of abuse within the sport.Last year the Herald outlined multiple allegations of abuse of athletes in the country's elite gymnastics programmes, including girls as young as 8 being fat-shamed, forced to train through injuries and verbally abused by coaches. The review team of David Howman, Dr Lesley Nicol, and Rachel Vickery received more than 200 submissions during the extended review period.Gymnastics NZ CEO Tony Compier says the report will be crucial in helping the sport repair the hurt and suffering of the past, and ensuring positive change for the future. He added their work had only just begun."It is clear that Gymnastics NZ has a lot to do to ensure our sport is safe, enjoyable, and rewarding for everyone."We'd also like to thank everyone who shared their stories and experiences. We understand this would have been a difficult and at times painful process for many and we'd like to acknowledge the courage displayed by those who came forward," said Compier.Gymnastics NZ has created a statement of commitment to publicly commit to implementing the recommendations made in the report, and to reinforce their living commitment to change across all levels and all aspects of the sport.Compier says the first step will be to establish a steering committee which will include survivors, athletes, sector experts and others who are integral to the gymnastics community, to oversee the implementation of the report's recommendations. The committee is expected to be in place by the end of March.Sport NZ CEO Raelene Castle said the review was a critical step in acknowledging the hurt experienced by survivors and healing wounds within the sport."The bravery of the survivors who have stepped forward, along with their stories, offers a way forward for the sport and for Gymnastics NZ. We believe the steps being taken by Gymnastics NZ in committing to the implementation of the report's recommendations and the creation of a steering committee comprising survivors, athletes and others from the community will prompt a positive change to the culture of gymnastics.""Sport NZ has supported the process to date and will continue to support Gymnastics NZ with the implementation of these recommendations as a member of their steering committee," said Castle.

New Survey Says "Gen Z'ers Want to Eat More Plant-Based Foods" Cited Link: https://thebeet.com/gen-zers-want-to-eat-more-vegan-or-plant-based-foods-new-survey-finds/ Gen Z is setting food trends in the post-pandemic world, The Food Institute reports, and their food choices include: Ordering in more, choosing frozen foods, and eating more plant-based meals. They believe you don't have to be vegan to want to eat more vegan foods, the Institute report noted, in a review of how these young consumers are influencing food trends. Sixty-five percent of Gen Z say they want a more "plant-forward" diet, while 79% choose to go meatless once or twice a week, the study found. Host of "New Day New Chef: Support and Feed" Jane Velez-Mitchell is available for interviews and for debate on these issues or anything Vegan related. About New Day New Chef: Support & Feed on Amazon's Prime Video https://www.amazon.com/New-Day-Chef-Support-Feed/dp/B08B7GS4XV New Day New Chef: Support and Feed Edition focuses on the organization's work supplying healthy, plant-based food to children's charities, homeless and domestic abuse shelters, food banks and senior centers. People donate to vegan restaurants in Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia. Those restaurants, in turn, make the food that is distributed. Filmed largely with robotic cameras, during the COVID-19 outbreak, the show follows Maggie Baird, (actress, screenwriter, vegan, and the mother of musicians Billie Eilish and Finneas, who are also vegan) as she delivers food to those in need. Jane Velez-Mitchell hosts as participating chefs whip up some of the delicious, nutrient-packed meals. Vegan celebrities, like Dynasty's Elaine Hendrix and Downton Abbey's Lesley Nicol, join in the fun. About Jane Velez-Mitchell Jane Velez-Mitchell is the founder and editor of JaneUnChained.com, a social media news channel producing thousands of widely shared videos on the plant-based lifestyle. Jane is the winner of four Genesis Awards from the Humane Society of the United States. For six years she hosted her own show on HLN (CNN Headline News) where she did a weekly animal segment. Velez-Mitchell also reported for the TV show Celebrity Justice and was a news anchor/reporter at KCAL-TV in LA and WCBS-TV in NY.
